I've had this book for many many years and never actually read so when I found it recently thought it would be a different read especially in this day of technological changes in todays formula 1 racing. I was pleasantly surprised by the book which is basically a description of the build up and just the year when James Hunt won the world championship "Against all Odds".
Wrote primarily by Eion Young and David Hodges it has specific section by James Hunt and made for an interesting perspective on his year when he became the world champion. I seem to remember that he was at the time considered a hero in this achievement and despite his apparent middle to upper class upbringing was still well liked by the general British public.
What fascinated me was the politics that were apparent in the world of this motor sport and how Ferrari wanted to lead this world by apparently any means possible. It also gave a great liking for Nikki Lauda even more when had his near death crash resulting in his serious burns and then comeback within a couple of months. A great read

One of the largest characters ever to drive in formula one, love him or hate him, James Hunt tells the story of his world championship win, with many behind the scene moments typical of the man. I loved it.

Very down-to-earth account of James Hunt’s 1976 Formula 1 season, reviewing each race with in-depth accounts from James and the McLaren team.
