Restored: 7 Steps to Freedom in Christ

Rate this book
The function of this book is to help new Christians to understand the meaning and importance of the step they have just taken: 'to establish you alive and free in Christ through genuine repentance and faith in God.' Dr Anderson provides readers with a short, pithy summary of the main realities of spiritual life - the basics of Christian salvation; casting aside the spiritual entanglements of the past; seeing through patterns of deception; overcoming bitterness through forgiveness; learning to trust God; overcoming pride and habitual sin. This exposition of the seven Steps to Freedom, which lie at the heart of the Freedom in Christ Course, will ensure that new Christians are quickly set on the right path.

After reading this I then confirmed that this is truly LIFE-CHANGING. Certainly, restorative and a refreshement for all. This is suitable for everyone, new believers or not. I really recommend this book because of its amazing content, all about our Divine Creator. What, why and how questions deserves a true answer hence you need this. I guess I can't fully articulate how helpful this book is, just try it yourself!

I would say a 3.5/5. As a Christian I find this book to be a lot for a new believer all at one time. There are a lot of important components, but felt like most sections stated a problem then a prayer for forgiveness repeatedly. I feel faith is a little more than that but I understand asking for forgiveness is important too. I also was a little concerned about the adjectives and way a few other religions were described.

"I am not the 'Great I Am,' but by the grace of God I am what I am."

The book discusses about the bondage and actions that made us sinners. How God thinks about those shortcomings. The book also includes instructions and prayers to help us to get right with God.

Overall, this a good book that opens the sinner in me and how I become a child of God.

Love. <3

Really great and practical book for finding freedom in Christ by renouncing lies, identifying hidden wounds, and finding your healing and identity in Christ alone. This is a great read for anyone of any age! The journey through each chapter brings great insight and emotional/mental healing.

In general, I think this is intended for new christians as an intentional process to pray through your life before Christ and repent of various practices (idols, cults, sexual sins, pride, rebellion, habitual sins, ancestral sin patterns etc)... but even as someone who has been a Christian for 15 years, I found it really helpful. Super practical, with structured prayers and lists to help you think through various (and specific) patterns of sin and break the bonds of those sins or lies you have believed. Definitely recommend it.

This is a guidebook for working through many issues that plague individuals. It is not a book to be used only one time, but something to refresh your mind and spirit with occasionally. THe reader must work through the seven steps, either individually or with a therapist/counselor/pastor or, as I have used it, in a small group setting.
