Regan takes the job because she's desperate. She just got fired, she's down to her last hundred bucks, and she hasn't spoken to her parents in years. She's out of options, and serving drinks at an upscale gentlemen's club sounds easy enough.
At the Silver Cross Club, she's exposed to a world of wealth and hedonism that she's never experienced. And the clients tip well -- so well that she's willing to ignore the debauchery that goes on in the back rooms.
Then she meets billionaire Carter Sutton.
Scion of a powerful family, and a regular client at the club, he's rich, handsome, and incredibly charismatic. Regan finds herself being drawn into his orbit.
But their undeniable chemistry can't prepare Regan for Carter's sexual desires. He's used to getting what he wants, and Regan has only two options: resist, or surrender completely...
I got this book as a freebie and just something about it caught my eye. It's probably the Fifty Shades influence since I never tire of those! And it's fairly short so I thought I'd give it a try.
All in all, it's not bad. Regan is out of money and her rent is due. She sees an opening for a cocktail waitress at a men's club and figures "why not" even though she doesn't have any experience.
Carter Sutton is a billionaire who frequents the club and see Regan and is intrigued by her calmness. He wants to rile her up and starts offering her money to do more and more.
I was surprised at how little money it took for Regan to do some things especially after she had made some good money. I didn't mind it when they were for Carter only but some of the other stuff was a bit much. I loved that she finally turned him down...that was priceless.
I did like Carter in the beginning but as much as a playboy as he was supposed to be, he seemed to be missing things when it came to Regan. And even though Regan stood up to Carter, she just couldn't resist him.
I've heard rumors there may be another book and that would be interesting but I think the book ends on a good note as it is.
Out of work Regan is down to her last $73.81 with no job prospects, no wealthy relatives, and no hopes to win the lottery any time soon. Seeing a posted flyer looking to hire a "cocktail waitress wanted, experience necessary" may just be what she needs to pay this month's rent. Of course she's never waitressed in her life and has no mixologist skills to speak of but she's ok to fake it til she makes it.
Silver Cross Club is an exclusive club for the mega rich. Some may feel it's just a glorified strip club where wealthy and powerful executives such as billionaire Carter Sutton hold business meetings with their peers, but as all employees sign a non-disclosure agreement no one really knows. Regan is about to get a crash course in how the rich and famous really act behind closed doors.
This is the kind of book you grab when you're looking for a smutty book that features a working class girl being seduced by a wealthy powerful alpha male Dom personality guy. The frequent erotica play scenes will definitely have you hoping your batteries are fully charged and hold out as you enjoy the numerous adult content scenes in this read. And while there is a BDSM element theme, I would call it more a borderline kinky/sugarkink quality. Some orgasm control and D/s elements only.
Story line itself is pretty straight forward. There is an isolated curve ball twist that did intrigue me but as it never played out in this book (the story ends with a teaser ending so I'm sure there will be a follow up installment) it came across as a bit awkward. I did however, totally enjoy the way the relationship played out as Carter pulled Regan in until she finally gave in and let him do whatever he wanted to do.... Until she safewords. He had her (and me) so sexually frustrated that I do think Regan was close to tying HIM up and giving him a little payback though I would have enjoyed that too.
Overall this is a story to grab when you're looking for an adult content heavy read. Don't expect literary excellence though (which was fine for me) as this is a fantasy feel good read that doesn't require a lot of brain matter to enjoy.
Basic set up of poor girl rich guy with money and sex.
Overall I did enjoy the read. It was quick, wasn't all sex and it sorta ends happy, even though I felt/thought it would be like a cliffhanger romance. A virgin loses her cherry, gets a new job, meets a man that sets her hormones to crazy, has multiply orgasms and not all in that order in less than 100 page.
This was a nook/barnes and noble freebie so for the price it was good. I would read the next one because; hey I sorta want to find out what happens next. However not enough to buy it..soooo yep there it is.
There was no charge for this download, and now I understand why.
This book is lacking in character development, and the action moves at a frantic pace.
Regan, the heroine of the story, was too easily submissive after only one sexual encounter with Carter.
It's a book I read to pass time, so it makes sense to me that the author is trying to milk it for as long as possible, by abruptly ending it so that the reader will purchase part 2.
Short and unexciting, the story didn't have much drama or plot, and I suspect I will forget what little there was to it.
I downloaded this because it was a freebie, and the premise looked kind of intriguing. The best part of the book was the setting. I was interested in what was going on at the club. But the book was much less about that and more about a cliche romance between a virgin and a billionaire.
Regan is a 24 year old virgin (eye roll) who is desperate to find a job. She gets a cocktail waitress job at an exclusive strip club, and meets 31 year old billionaire (eye roll) Carter, who of course is extremely hot. Of course he's some kind of Dom, of course he takes her virginity, of course she helpless to say no to him.
Everything happens way too fast, there's no room for character development. They have sex once and she can barely function without him (eye roll). He can't stop thinking about her even though he probably has women falling all over him 24/7. Never mind the fact that they've barely had a single conversation. Maybe if there were more of a build up to their relationship I could get invested in it, but there just isn't. And there is one scene where Carter asks Regan to do something that makes him a complete pig in my eyes and he hadn't redeemed himself by the end.
Speaking of the end, there isn't really one. It just ends. I'm guessing there is another novella, but there was no mention of it.
This was your typical poor innocent girl meets rich guy who likes a little kink in the bedroom. It was a quick straightforward read that ends with a little bit of a cliffhanger. Nothing jaw dropping, so you’ll be fine if you only end up reading this book in the series. Will I continue this story; your guess is as good as mine.
I really enjoyed this, but I'm not sure if I want to move on to book 2. The hero is a little more than my liking, but what a hot story nonetheless! I would love to read more from this author again.
This gets a solid 3.5 stars from me, but loses a .5 star due to it's bad editing. It's such a shame when a good book, just has had the time to be proofed correctly. Overall however this is a good story and one that I would recommend you read, if you're into that whole Pretty Woman type story.
The story is incredible simple, girl is down on her luck, she gets a job as a waitress at a high end gentleman's club and next thing you know she's meeting the man of her dreams. It's great reading these types of books, there isn't much wondering what's going to happen next. Here you're just reading a predictable love story wondering how it's going to play out... that's whole it's the journey not the destination type thing.
One of the true simple joys of the book is Carter. He enjoys control and humiliation. Perfect, these are just the kind of things I like reading about. And Reagan is drawn to him like a moth to a flame. What I like about her though is that she isn't completely subservient to him, but rather that wonderful balance of submissive and sassy. She's fun, he's fun. It's a win-win.
I debated while reading this as to whether or not I would pick up the next in the book and I've decided that I really shouldn't miss out on what else is in store for these two. My big wish is a little more sex, to be blunt. There wasn't nearly enough of it here for me. There is only so much "holding back" before even I was getting frustrated for Reagan.
So off I pop for book two, fingers crossed that it's just as good, if not better (at least better edited) than this book.
Regan takes a job as a cocktail waitress in a strip club. Carter is a billionaire client who begins to request her services. Soon, Regan finds herself in too deep. Only a short story with an indefinite ending, yet it is very well-written, spicy and hot. Regan embodies so many of our insecurities, while Carter could be a dream come true. Very enjoyable.
I've been in a bit of a "new book" reading slump of late and have resigned myself to re-reading my old favourites but this morning I noticed this book and thought I'd give it a go and I'm very glad I did. Regan is living alone in New York, she's out of work and just about out of money so in desperation she auditions for the position of cocktail waitress at the exclusive Silver Cross Men's Club where she meets and is instantly attracted to Billionaire Carter Sutton. Carter spends a lot of time at Silver Cross, he's rich, handsome and is used to getting what he wants and it's obvious he's very interested in Regan. Regan however comes from a different world, she not sophisticated, rich or even experienced, she's out if her depth and she knows it. I really liked this book, I loved Regan and Carter and I liked the way things simmered and built between them, the way the book was written and the fact that I knew before I stared reading that another book would follow, that's a pet hate of mine to read a book for it to just end, usually on a cliffhanger with no advance knowledge that this is the case. Anyway provided that the next book is reasonably priced I'll be buying it since I'd really like to stay with these two till the end. Now I did enjoy this book but it's not without it's faults, the four stars I gave is a reflection of how much I enjoyed it.
i've been trying to find new free books on my iBooks app since I needed some reading content on my phone and this was a highly-rated one. the storyline was very typical - poor girl meets rich billionaire and they get into a relationship. but this book was set in a rich country club. the plot was pretty good for quite a short read, but there was just one thing that really REALLY bugged me.
at the beginning, germaine said that if ANY of the men touched the waitresses in any way, they'd have to report it to her and the guy would be blacklisted from the country club. makes sense right? but when carter touches regan, she doesn't report him at all, even if it "made her feel good." that still wasn't okay. he still touched her WITHOUT her permission and i dont know, it really really irked me because he could've done it to any other girl and by NOT telling germaine, she was basically condoning it and letting him go free. it was something that stuck with me until the very end of the book.
The storyline is nothing new..shy virgin meets handsome billionaire who likes a bit of control in the bedroom!
However, this story held my attention and I liked both Regan and Carter. The sex is nothing too graphic and the build up to it was nicely done.
I did feel slightly disappointed that Carter became a bit weak in character towards the end, that spoilt it a little bit for me when he became nervous and started to stutter but he knows he has pushed Regan too far and may have lost her.
There is to be a sequel but this book can be read as a whole story as it is not exactly a cliffhanger ending. It has a 'happy for now' ending I would say. I will read the sequel if it's a reasonable price. Sometimes when you get a freebie like this the continuing books are ridiculously high prices.
First read for me by this author, she has an easy writing style that flowed well.
Hot foreplay, just a little kink, and enough of a storyline outside of the ordinary-girl-catches-billionaire's-eye trope to keep things interesting.
Regan is a likable narrator and Carter is a dreamy alpha male but neither of them were completely affecting. The plot is obviously shallow and unoriginal, but the pacing is well done and the writing is refreshing. Not bad for a 100-page novella.
Verdict Would recommend for a quick, mindless read. Something to keep you entertained when you're in a reading slump.
Rating: 7 out of 10 hearts (4 stars): Not perfect, but overall enjoyable; borrow, don't buy!
Source Choice read. I purchased this eBook for free during a Kindle promotion on Amazon.
The thing that drew me to this book was the cover! I mean look how pretty it is .. And how classy the colors are! I just love it ❤️
Now as for the book, it was good not great but Good ... I felt like there were some missing elements that kept me from enjoying the story and getting lost in it .. Especially with the characters .. There was no background story .. It was just a few words about there past not really enough and at the end of the book I felt like I didn't really know the characters enough to know if they'd make it ..
Also if your looking for an Alpha male hero .. This isn't it .. The Hero for me was truly lacking
Summary: I didn't fall in love with the characters It was a good, short read But I wont be reading it over and over again
What was I thinking when I read this? I can't remember if I bought this or if it was a freebie. It's been on my IBooks for the longest and I decided to give it a go. Jesus Christ the chick is a huge doormat who needs money so she basically does whatever the hero wants her to do. I told myself desperate times call for desperate measures. Eh, I continued reading until after a couple of chapters later, she thinks they belong together because he suggests a date. How the hell does she think they are meant for each other? Uh, no. This first book is really short maybe 200 pages on IBooks. I wouldn't recommend it. Not only for the short length but because of the characters and plot.
Really enjoyed this story. Regan needing a job so working as a waitress in basically a strip club. She meets Carter who totally enthralls her and vice versa. They become kind of besotted with each other and Carter is controlling. can Regan carry on like this! ! Want to read book 2 even though a bit expensive. All in all a good read
Hot, Sexy and left me wanting more. It doesn't leave you with a cliffhanger exactly, just a desire to want to know what will come next in their relationship.
This review does not contain spoilers for Serving the Billionaire.
Regan has no money, no job, and what appears to be no prospects -- she's just like Charlotte Lucas from Pride and Prejudice. She had to drop out of college and after quitting her job due to being harassed at work, she is on the hunt for employment, and comes across a cocktail waitress flyer in her local bodega and attends the audition at The Silver Cross Club.
She quickly becomes good at her job, slowly working her way up to a heavier workload, when she is told a regular client wants her to serve at his private party. We are thrown into Regan's encounter with him and his guests, along with the requests Carter Sutton asks of her during his party and for future parties.
Carter is our classic tall and mysterious man who just cannot take his eyes off of Regan. He has a very particular taste, and that definitely comes out later in the story. During their encounters at the club, Carter is very clear to Regan about what he wants and introduces her to a world that she never thought that she would be a part of. There are a few moments where the connections he has with high profile people seem unlikely, but his character is put together and respected by those who know him.
This novella reads pretty well -- it is not littered with clichés and progresses at a decent rate that does not leave you questioning how you got from point A to point B. We are able to see Regan's thought process throughout the story and as she continues to encounter Carter on a more daily basis, and see how they begin to affect one another. They of course have their moments where communication is not very clear between them or that one does not seem to understand the other, but they did only just meet days, if not a couple weeks, prior to their relationship actually starting to become something more.
Serving the Billionaire definitely gives off a very similar tone to the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy -- we are introduced to a twenty-something virgin who just so happens to come across and grab the attention of a billionaire, who has an instant attraction to her. There is a balance of smut, angst, and character/relationship building that allows this to be a quick read that readers can enjoy without cringing as they turn the page.
This novella is available for FREE on iBooks and other ebook platforms.

No, No, No and No. It's your typical billionaire meets poor girl at a seedy place story. There was zero character development. We dont know why the heroine, Regan, is estranged from her family, only that her dad is a drunkard and her mom is too weak to stand up for herself. No mention of siblings or relatives(only that relatives are horrible), no mention of why she ran, her previous history. She's a 24-yr old virgin "saving herself". She doesn't know anything about sex, but a week later she is an expert at it.
Enter Carter Sutton, rich playboy billionaire, 31, who drinks expensive scotch&whiskey, has phone calls with the President, and has kinky sex. (Huge eyeroll) To make up for his assholery, it seems the author has added in a hot body, pretty face, dark hair and blue eyes. Oh and also he donates to charity, is a Big Brother to a Bronx kid and is a mama's boy. Does the author think these qualities will make women swoon over the idiot??
Now, our macho hero and blushing heroine barely have a conversation. They meet, what, 3 times before he "needs to have her in his bed" and the lady here feels that if she doesn't have her virginity taken by jerk here, then she'll regret it for the rest of her whole life!! Then the cliche, billionaire likes dominance and blushing girl learns that she is submissive in nature. Hello?? Bella? Anastasia? Potential fellow member of your club here??
Then he ignores her the next morning, barely pushing expensive coffee down her throat and leaving his driver to drop her off, but not before they nearly have another round of backseat car sex because all billionaires NEED car sex or they don't function properly, right? Then he goes out with some girl to a party later that night( which Regan darling finds out about later and throws a jealous fit)
Next our asshole feels the need to ask our now head strong heroine to give his business partner a blowjob and said headstrong heroine storms out with a "sassafras" (WTF??) safeword. Hero invites self to her dingy apartment and makes puppy dog eyes and asks her to take him back without even so much as an apology as "I wasn't thinking.... I shouldn't have done that...." and same headstrong heroine says no (becoz, now she realizes what self-esteem means)
2 weeks later, Hero visits club again "because he need her to breathe" and "cant stop thinking about her cause she's the only one whose ever told him 'no'". Head strong heroine, who is a "mess and a puddle because she simply cant survive without her boytoy" falls into the arms of her gallant lover and he whisks her off to a happily ever after.
Felt like the author wrote this book because she was passing by a book store and saw a billionaire book and thought "OOOOH I should write something like that too and hope it'll be an international best seller." Thought Fifty Shades was bad. No, this is trumps that.
Please, to all authors out there, don't write just because you can and flood the market with cheap trashy books. There's already enough of these kind out there.
In short, Story is too short, too rushed, too superficial, too many grammatical mistakes and too cliche. I wont be surprised if I dont read the next book. Not even worth the freebie. Disappointed.
Written in Regan the main female characters POV we follow her as she struggles for money and so applies for a job at a high end strip club as a waitress. Here she meets Carter a billionaire who wants her.
The author builds the tension between the characters brilliantly, teasing both the reader and Regan with just a little more at each encounter.
It was a short read that left me wanting more which with a second book is a good thing.
Regan was in dire straights she needed a job. Posting for cocktail waitress she decided she would. Everyone else was turning her down but she was going anyway. She never imagined 3 words from a billionaire would change her. Carter was more or less blindsided by Regan.
This story tried too hard to be like fifty shades of grey. There were instances that the dialogues we're same too. Heavily testosterone generated writing have almost the same same story line The male lead thinking he is the boss and the females feeling helpless Nothing much to talk as there wasn't much STORY.
I really tried to enjoy this book, I love billionaire reads but this one. I like my h to have dignity wether their shy or outspoken as long as they have a little self respect so when the H tells the h to give another man a blow job and she refused he became unreedemable. But when she still felt like she didn't deserve him it just irritated the hell out of me

The barriers that are broke down is incredible, chemistry high, little bit of drama. The cliffhanger is, well, a cliffhanger. Watching Rachel unravel like that is so hawt. If he is only doing so many meetings at the club why is he there without Richard?? Sophie has a great attitude and would be awesome to have as support.
An excellent fish out of water story. Regan is just trying to make ends meet. Carter is selfish in his desire for Regan. Will she succumb to his base needs? This was a very entertaining novella.
