Paweł “DarkAraghel” Rejdak proves once again that he is a true master of suspense, deftly weaving metaphysical elements, typical of his works, into the sphere of the mundane. It is the skillful buildup of tension, vivid descriptions and well-defined contrasts in the main characters’ personalities that make this book so enthralling. It’s a must-read for horror and thriller enthusiasts, as well as the fans of good, multi-layered crime stories.

Got it yesterday. A friend recomended it to me. It was too late to catch the tube, so i took 25 bus home and started reading. Hopeless to describe really... I didnt expect such a great book, definitely hits the mark.I went to bed around 3 am so focused on reading. Couldn't stop till i read it. NO i devoured it ! Secret is out there and beware, mabye you dont wanna know. 'Gorilla' was my fav! This guys profile is great! Smashing end tbh. Didn't see that coming.
The storytelling line kept me going over and over till the very end. I love such books. Good crime with so many secrets stuffed inside and this one definitely fits and suites my tastes. Author literally "painted" very dynamic, full of precise suspense, and mysteries tale of an ancient background where myths mixes with brutal reality of the NYC. True, sharp edged characters, all of em, eneven those from the backstage. Loved the twists, plots and this outstanding skills of creation, which shows when you meet some scenes... Never met a person with such VIVID vocabulary before!
Clearly to be a bestseller soon. I was the first book of Pauwel Redak that I sticked my nose into and I have got to say I am impressed. Totally fascinated by the skills by which author brings atmosphere, action, and then doses it, by strict and bull-eyed aimed suspense. Really this book is a must if you love horror and care for a good crime in the same paperback. Good it's short because I have got to go to bed :))). It's late here in Wales. Freshly after late-night dinner but still-feel the hunger for another page... Great job man! Dave
Great crime, good horror. Experimental mix of genres end up with fantastic journey to NYC and it's dark secrets. Really hard to put it down just like that. the most astonishing thing about this book it is filled with so many different characters and loads of action it just pulls you in, you totally loose sense of time.
I am a A.Christie's fan. I love crime. It's a great one, mixing it with horror werecats disgusted me a bit though. Anyways, as a crime its very, VERY solid story.
Freshly picked up from Amazon. Loved the plots, the suspense and the thrill, but mostly the vacabulary. Never met an author like that before. Big diss for shortness of the whole story. Took me just one evening to read it but it was worth it !
This story was rough, and given my love of Egyptian history I was really hoping this book would be a great read. I feel the story had a lot of potential, but it wasn't cohesive enough for me. A big issue was with the word usage and phrasing which could be in part due to a poor translation from Polish, or the fact English isn't the author's first language. Some of the "slang" was dated or used incorrectly. The characters were very flat and hard to be interested in, and it was really annoying that they were always referred to by their first and last names every single time they were mentioned in the book. Also, the author did not use any quotation marks at all so following the conversations took a lot of work. So while I loved the idea of the ancient power of Seth coming back to rein in the modern times through guardians and ancestors the storyline just did not work at all. Even the ending left me feeling short changed and irritated.
It was nice, short tho'. Not very happy with plots ending that bloody at the end. Not much "Wow" about it. Could be a bit better. Background (mythic one) is nice, just wishing on a star to be more complex and moved to the next book ! Author Why ??? Oh why ??? why end up like this ?
