When the aliens came to help save his people, Lucas worried that it wasn’t quite that simple…he was right…
Alien warriors, Ayden, Regil and Danth are a mated trio…they thought they were complete. But then they’re called to the ruined Earth and they meet Lucas. Something about the stoic human calls to them and before long they start to wonder if they really are complete after all.
Lucas is the last of Earth’s scientists. Charged with entering the old lands he must find enough fuel to save his people, and the alien warriors are his escort. He isn’t sure what to make of these strange males. They are strong, brooding…and they treat him in a way that Lucas can’t quite understand…
Because the aliens have realized that the only way to know if Lucas is their mate is to take him to their bed. And if that means capturing him heart, body and soul then so be it…

I am glad I read this second book of the 'Mating Season' series. It was so much better than the first! Even though I knew what to expect, and yes, the alien mates did come in and wanted to take over, the author manages to make the story a lot more interesting. For one thing, there was a real plot, and urgency about what they had to do. For another, there was some real tension between the men before hey managed to find a new balance between all four of them. And what I liked most was that there was some real leaning about each other's needs and a few compromises.
Lucas is a great guy, and even though it is becoming too much, he carries the responsibility for all of the human's lives with determination and a high level of ability. Keeping all the systems together is not an easy task, but Lucas does it without complaint. It takes the three aliens a while to get that, but when they do? They become real supporters.
If you like alien "abductions", if an established triad trying to fit a fourth man into their groups sounds interesting, and if you're looking for a futuristic, entertaining read with lots of hot man-on-man-on-man-on man action and just enough tension to keep you turning the pages, then you will probably enjoy this short novella.
Even though I understand that the other civilizations in the galaxy didn't want to interfere with a warlike humanity, isn't it rather cruel to leave the remnants of humanity to slowly die off without checking if they may have learned from the mistakes of their ancestors? I'm glad that Lucas' mates were willing to help everyone in the Cube to help ensure their mate's happiness.
Lucas is the last the scientist on Earth. He is also set to enter the old lands so that he can find enough fuel to save his people. He has the aliens, Ayden, Regil and Danth as escorts in his mission. The aliens have come to save his people but he is afraid that there is more to it and it seems he was correct in that assumption. Ayden, Regil and Danth are proving to be both brooding and strong and they are turning Lucas’ world upside down.
Ayden, Regil and Danth are a mated trio. They also thought they were complete until they meet Lucas and they realize that something is missing in their relationship. Something about Lucas calls to them.
Lucas isn’t sure what to make of the aliens as they are like nothing he has dealt with before. They also treat him in a way that confuses him. Ayden, Regil and Danth realize that the only way to figure out if Lucas can complete them is to take him to their bed even if that means capturing him body, heart and soul.
This is proving to be a very good series that is different than most alien stories. While the reader would get the most out of reading the books in order they are written in such a way that they can be read as stand alones. This one keeps in the same vein as the first story but proves to have its own story line which makes it very enjoyable to read. The characters are intriguing and fascinating. With every word read the world building in the story comes to life and gives the reader a glimpse on what can happen. For readers of this genre this is a series to check out.
This book was an okay ready. It just felt rushed. Also, calling the aliens Valdors instead of Valdorans seemed weird when I was reading. It would kind of make me stop and think and threw me off. In the beginning, I kept thinking that Valdor was a person and would have to remind myself that it was a race.
The book has a great concept and sounded really interesting. You have three mated aliens come with another group because they can feel their fourth and final partner. You have a civilization falling because the power grid is going down, and when it does, the shield protecting what is left of the people of Earth will die. You have one person in charge of keeping the shield operational. This could have all turned into something wonderful. I think that if the book had been expanded and you didn’t have so much happen in such a short amount of time, I would have enjoyed reading much more.
I honestly don’t know if I would read the rest of the series. I just wasn’t really into it. I might consider trying though if the books were reworked and expanded greatly. Like I said, they had a solid idea. The idea just wasn’t executed well.
I really like the different story line in this series. Alien men and women living on different planets- evolving to draw them together to mate when the males and females have complete mate groups. Very different. Sexy big aliens who look like humans except taller & bigger. Hot sex - its all good. However -- 78 pages is too short- I want more story! I just get to know the characters and its over. Yes I've downloaded the next book but it is also only 78 pages and starts over with new characters too. whaaaa
Lesenswert
I liked this one better than the first one. There was more of an actual storyline to this one. I also liked that one of the aliens was unsure of the mating at the start.
