When what was supposed to be a smoking hot one-night stand ends in a knot and a mating bite, I realize I might not be your average beta… or a beta at all.
The alpha who bit me tells me I’m an omega and the sudden cherry pie à la mode perfume wafting off me seems to confirm his assertion. But things like this don’t happen to girls like me. The one in a million chance at being a late presenting omega should go to someone else. Not me, a beta who spent years of my childhood being sick. Not me, the girl that historically is only good enough for a one-night stand.
Things only get worse when I find out I accidentally bonded to a member of the Falcone Pack. Yes, that Falcone pack. The mafia pack that owns a third of the city and ruthlessly eviscerates any of their enemies.
I reluctantly agree to spend the weekend with their pack and soon find myself dealing with a grumpy prime alpha that doesn’t seem to want any omega (let alone me), new weird omega instincts, a body that perfumes at the drop of a hat and too many questions about why I’m the lucky one in a million. As we go looking for answers, my attraction to the Falcone pack grows and I can’t deny how much my new omega wants them. But I can’t bring myself to give in. What if this is all a fluke? What if I switch back to a beta and they decide they don’t want me any longer? Or worse, what if I stay an omega and they decide they still don’t want me?
After all, I’m not your average beta… or omega. Knot Your Average Beta is a 141k+, why choose? novel, set in the Omegaverse. There are growly alphas, omega instincts and knots. The FMC is sassy and strong, and won't take any sh*t from anyone, even a grumpy prime. It is a stand alone and has a guaranteed HEA. This is the second book of the FatedVerse Series, but can be read on its own. However, you do meet characters first established in Knot Here for You.
The other woman drama was so unnecessary and annoying, also idk what happened with Sadie bc at the beginning she was literally standing up to alphas when she considered them a threat to her friend - but then another omega tries to claim her pack and she basically says "go ahead, I give you a week and then we will see who they will choose" HUUUH???? 😃😃
Why the fuck aren't you clawing out her eyes??? That's your pack?? What the fuck happened to the confident and mouthy Sadie? Sure she had some self esteem issues where she thought she was somehow a lesser omega, but in the book it also said that seeing your scent matched mate alpha with another omega would turn you feral, and vice versa. But no, Sadie just takes it lying down? The guys didn't actually try to get to know the other omega, they didn't even want her in their life but Sadie kept insisting that they should try being with her? It went against literally everything that was said about alphas/omegas, even though their circumstances were rather unique, it still shouldn't be such a vast difference, imo.
Also the guys didn't grovel nearly enough, especially Maddox. We get told that he and Sadie made up, but literally nothing is being shown to actually make you believe it happened? It makes no sense at all.
I can't believe I'm saying this about an omegaverse book, but the sex scenes? The very few there were of them, did nothing for me, a lot of fade to black scenes and even closed door scenes. How are you going to write an omegaverse and then just telling us about how much sex they've had, and not showing? Also the heat was so anticlimactic, I would've loved to see more group sex scenes, but no - we barely got any of those either, maybe two in total?
This book was almost 400 pages, and still I wasn't convinced of their romance at all, because there was a lot of telling instead of showing. Then this story takes place in a couple of days (I believe? Sometimes the time line didn't make sense because sometimes I thought a week had gone by, turns out it was just a day?), and suddenly they all love each other? As Maddox said "I love you so fucking much Sadie. Hopelessly and endlessly and irrevocably. I love you." 🤡 Ok but didn't you literally lock her in a room a couple of days ago? 👁️👄👁️Again and again tell her and others how she was nothing, that she was a mistake?💀 Get mad at her for being sad after you continuously rejected her, but still wouldn't let her leave? Letting one of your previous fucks flirt with you while she was LITERALLY in your arms? (Oh and he had the nerve to get mad at her MILDLY flirting with an alpha the same night, nothing serious at all bc she thought she had been rejected, and she did try to push the alpha away like seconds later) Oooh ok uhm i- 🤠🤨 Nah, I wasn't convinced at all. Maddox was a fucking clown, prime alpha my ass.
The other mmcs were boring, not nearly enough fleshed out characters. It feels like this should at least have had a part 2, one book was clearly not enough.
The only unproblematic character in this book was Swift, I knew he was going to be my favorite the first time we met him. He is the only reason that this gets 2 stars and not 1.
I don't know why but this silly series is kind of working for me 🤪
The book was often ridiculous, sometimes horrendously camp and cringe to the point that I wanted to toss the whole book, and the sm-t was criminally lacking for an omegaverse book, but it was so fun to read. It is consistently nonsensical and nothing makes sense. I guess the unpredictable train wreck nature is what keeps me reading. I never know what illogical and contradictory plot point is going to happen next so I stay glued 🤡
Compared to the previous book, this book was a complete tonal change. We go from small town second chance romance to basically a mobster dark romance in one series. Fun idea but execution was another story. I can see how Tana Rose tried but this was mobster lite. We have no idea what exactly the Falcone pack does and they never truly go full dark romance. If you promise dark romance, then deliver all the fun parts of a dark romance because some of us girlies love our unrepentant monsters 🥰
Another thing. I can't be the only one that kind of saw a lot of similarities to other dark romance books, right? 👀 Like I could clearly see where Tana Rose was getting her influences for this book because some of the choices were neon. Not that it was a bad thing, it was just kind of distracting.
So the romance was seriously off the rails bad sometimes. It was very dramatic and angsty because Tana Rose clearly loves to squeeze out every drop of melodramatic nonsense out of the rejected mate trope. And I'm loving it because I am a dramatic bish. But this book started leaning too much into making every tiny thing so extra ✨dramatic✨ Also, so many dumb decisions by the characters. No one wants to have a real conversation in Tana Rose's world. Without the scent match, there would be no romance since there is barely any chemistry with it.
Adding to that, another issue is that this book kept wavering between being serious and then camp. Like a bad Marvel movie. It couldn't decide. Way too many tonal whiplashes. So we get serious moments then immediately the characters decide to just be pointlessly silly or someone says something so dumb that the reading magic is broken and I have to seriously consider my life choices in continuing to read this.
Sadie and the pack were mid. They were so dumb sometimes. We have all the archetypes here and no one does anything new. None of this is a spoiler because all of this is revealed in like the first 20% of the book.
🍒 Sadie is all woe-is-me because I was fine being a beta and now I'm an omega and being vulnerable is scary. So I'm going to rebel and make dumb choices that put me unnecessarily in danger.
🍒 Maddox is the serious leader alpha who rejects Sadie at first. How many times have we seen this? I feel like 50% of omegaverse books has this exact same character. Boring.
🍒 Luca is the easygoing alpha who has the sweet beta partner, Ethan, and they welcome Sadie the most. Again, this pairing is in like 50% of all omegaverse books. Repetition.
🍒 Swift is the unhinged one who goes 110% into accepting Sadie for no reason except she's pretty and smells nice. And not a single trace of a personality here except obsession
🍒 Logan is nice and dependable. Kind of a non-character except he's a doctor and they needed him for plot reasons. Literally basically a background character.
If you've read one omegaverse book, then the romance is nothing new. Sadie is all woe-is-me I'm a beta who turned into an omega but I still feel like a beta. Then she magically meets her scent match pack. They're okay except the one hostile one. She is insecure. They're mean. They eventually figure sh-t out. Throw in a silly medical plot with incredibly huge gaping plot holes and some truly never seen before cringe lines and you have this.
Almost forgot, the banter was so bad sometimes. So awkward and weird. Nobody talks like that. If I was told the banter was AI generated, I would believe it. Anyone remember that bad AI generated script of a Hallmark movie? Same vibes here.
As someone who is 100% pro-choice and will forever support abortion as healthcare, the
Okay, I don't care to write anymore. This girlie has more and hopefully better omegaverse books to read.
The story often goes from entertaining to full clownery but it is never boring. As someone who has been DNFing more books lately because the quality is just not there, this book was fun. I will always take nonsensical and fun over logical and boring to the point where I DNF nowadays, especially considering how the world is right now.
I have big hopes for Sorrel's book because she is going to match with a prestigious pack with a celebrity omega. There is so much potential for mountains of dramatic nonsense and I am rubbing my little hands like a feral raccoon in excited anticipation.
i really enjoyed the book until the other women drama happened and i skipped it to the ending i don't get why the other women drama has to happened the minute the mmc was accepting of the fmc
If you're looking for an general omegaverse, this isn't bad. Sadie's a beta- spent her whole 25 years as a beta and suddenly, she's an omega. Oh, and she's found her scent matched pack. One bites her in quickly and takes her home to meet the rest of the pack. (This all happens in the first couple of chapters and sets up the rest of the story).
The pack prime, Maddox, isn't happy. He treats her pretty badly and says some even worse things that she overhears. He forces the rest of the pack to go along with his treatment. But if you're looking for him to grovel to make it up to her, pass on this one. He never even apologizes or tries to explain to her his thought process & rational. And she never confronts him about his treatment or about the fact that he gives her (and the reader) whiplash with his abrupt turn around. Another character, Swift, almost makes up for it with the way he treats her but really one alpha's obsessive love can't make up for another's neglect and lack of communication. Maddox totally got a pass - and he's the reason for my 2 star rating.
Other details: -One point of view (hers), so you don't see any of the struggle between the guys. That left me angry because it meant we don't see the alpha who bit her in have any angst at all about their enforced separation. I also think this leads to a lack of character development. Other than Swift being crazy about her (and crazy in general) and Maddox being an insensitive, overbearing, sometimes downright cruel alphahole, I didn't really get a clear picture of who the other 3 packmates were. Superficial stuff, yeah, but who really was Ethan besides the token beta?
-While the relationship conflict part of the plot left me frustrated and angry, the other plot that dealt with how Sadie was medically abused and the fall-out from that was pretty good. Again, I love Swift and how he pursues justice for her. The rest of them finally stepped up at the end.
This is about Sadie and her pack with Maddox, Luca, Swift, Logan and Ethan. She was sick as a child and is a Beta. She doesn't need anyone at all. One night she meets an Alpha and a Beta, has a GREAT time and they initiate the bond. She isn't an Omega so this shouldn't' be able to work.
Apparently she is an Omega that was kept on suppressants as medicine and illegally treated since her mother signed off on it.
Her pack, of course it would be the Falcone Pack. During the book she is trying to be kidnapped but for the other reasons than what they think.
She was so strong willed at the beginning and then it went down hill. Maddox calling her trouble all the time was a thing. Why was she letting the other woman stay with them. Her personality at the beginning of the book would have kicked her out. She got really easy on them and that seemed odd too.
This one wasn't as good as the first one but I still liked it.
The book was fine but the use of the plan b pill pulled me out of the book. Logan who is supposedly a doctor brought 7 morning after pills in case they fuck her without a condom. My dude, the morning after pill is a hefty hormone cocktail and shouldn’t be taken lightly and it only works in specific days of the female cycle. Shouldn’t he know that?
And the FMC starts of as a kick ass beta who is really confident and doesn’t take any shit and became an insecure omega who questions everything and just accepts the non apology the guys give her after they treat her horribly. There was no grovel whatsoever.
Better than the last one but still too many continuity errors, flipping of feelings and character inconsistency. It was ok but I don’t think I’ll read much more by this author
Also it makes better sense to read this one before the first one.
Late night with this one, although debated going bed with all the Claudia BS. Swift made this book. He was great. The one that put Sadie in their path, the one that respected her wishes despite being a psycho. The best bit was when he kidnapped the mother. The plot was predictable, but the guys were cool. Even Maddox being a dick, he still made sure she was safe and eating. I liked that Sadie didn't change, she fought her instincts all the way. This was the second pack that left their omega alone to be kidnapped. More than one break up/running away attempt. Other than that it was sweet. Plus Swift.

Meh. I really wish the fmc's childhood was fleshed out a bit more and that the angst of the book didn't mostly come from lack of communication between characters, it's so frustrating. I started to get pretty bored 50% of the way through.
Sadie is NOT a badass FMC!! (I said what I said) She turned into a pushover "because of her omega hormones".....why would she let that happen?! I was a little disappointed.
I wanted to like this, I love a good omegaverse. But the characters were just so blah. They had no depth. It was just insta-love and there was no building of relationship. Disappointing
So, after book 1 was a difficult affair for me, I wasn't clear how I would like the second book. But I really did like this story better than Vee's.
Tho, I have to add something I didn't add in the review of book 1. Mostly, because I had so many other issues with the story, that I simply slipped my mind. But here I can mention it. I even made a note to remember it. It's a pre-warning for future readers mostly, but there are no trigger warnings in the books.
For me, it's not an issue, because I don't have any triggers. But I know how most readers are, and a missing TWs can be a horrible thing to do to readers by authors. And can be detrimental for authors in the long run.
So, to mention some aspects of the story I noticed: We have long term childhood sickness history (in the way, she was experimented on as a child), OW drama, torture, violence (which should be expected, since the guys are more a mafia pack), one abusive parent (gaslighting, neglecting behavior (past mentions), exploiting)… I would say those are the most important parts for most.
I don't know why the author didn't add them. Furthermore, just from what I noticed while reading, there are some issues with grammar, misspellings, and sentences. For me, that's again no issue, because making mistakes is humanly and we humans aren't machines. So, I would say, mistakes happens, and some errors slip past you even with your best efforts. Even with proofreading. And as long as I can understand what I'm reading, I'm not taking it into account for my review.
But it is noticeable.
Content-wise, I liked Sadie more than Sylvie. But mostly because the denial wasn't as big here and not as much miscommunication. But I didn't like the way, Sadie gave up for most of the story. I know, that's a product of her experience growing up, bad experiences in general and her mother's behavior towards her. But I would have liked her to fight for what she wants more. Sure, in the end, she does in a way. But it doesn't matter as much, when the story is as good as over.
Furthermore, like in book 1, the story was predictable in many ways. Even without the blurb, I already knew from book 1, that she would reveal as an omega and that she was experimented on because of it. I mean, we see a pattern here, that was already used in book 1.
For example, Sylvie had also an abusive background and didn't think herself as good enough. She didn't fight either for the pack, she had to do with sickness as well, which becomes a topic with the pack. Then she was experimented on as well, because of her sickness/being an omega. And some sort of OW drama, where they used her scent. We get a lot of the same topics here and only in the end she gets confidence, either.
It seems like the author doesn't have unique ideas? Sure, she is mixing it up, but it's pretty much the same content. Which makes it easy to predict in many ways.
But at least I liked the guys here more, too. Swift was my favorite. That's a huge reason why I put the rating for this book higher. I like crazy characters, and in general the guys didn't act as stupid.
Otherwise, the sort of epilogue… I was not really happy with it. Because a heat and bonding for me is part of the main story and should be concluded before the epilogue. In the epilogue itself, I like to learn about their new life together and what happened. I mean, did they become legal? What about Apex? She didn't even check on her friends much. Especially, after Sylvie was mentioned by the doctor. And the family backgrounds? I mean, there as talk of this actor a lot and that Luca's brother was bonded to them. I would have liked to see something about that. And what happened with Claudia? I mean, yeah, we know what Swift probably did to her. But did he let her live? What about her father? You would assume he was involved in any way and would look for her?
So, nope. That was not nearly as good executed, as I wished. Too many loose ends. But admitting, I didn't expect anything else, since it was the same thing with book 1. I would say I have higher hopes for the third book… but not really. The only thing I kind of interested in is, if Sorrel will stay a beta or if she will become an experiment too.
But that's it. So, my rating is overall 3.8-4 stars. The 3.8 is just for clarifying the different to book 1.
Swift is the reason this book gets 4 stars, and reluctantly. Honestly, what the hell happened to the smut? You can’t dangle they all have seggs with each other before meeting the FMC and then never give me the scene, you can’t dangle that the MMC prime alpha likes to bark orders during seggs and then don’t give me any scenes. Like this omegaverse has so little smut and fade to black I am confused, also, the dark romance really didn’t work out. The plot was interesting, if not too ridiculous at points, I swear I almost skipped it… Overall, Swift is literally the best one. Also, where the heck was my grovel? I was expecting some epic grovel that never happened… For an omegaverse, the only omegaverse part was that they had designations… Also the whole drama with the OW lasted way too long, and why the hell did Sadie just stood there and let her? I never have wanted to wring a character’s neck for being stupid so much as with that part of the plot!!! Also, where was all the mafia stuff? Like you can’t say they are dangerous and the mafia and then give me nothing Again, Swift lifted the entirety of this plot line

I absolutely loved this book, Sadie was such a wonderful sassy strong character, who went through such a horrid tough childhood, at the hands of her loathsome mother and a sadist ‘Not’ Doctor!! This all left her with terrible anxiety about herself, who she was and what her true role in the pack should be or if at all! The Falcone pack = Swift - the loveable obsessive psycho alpha, that’s scary as hell but once he falls for you he falls utterly and completely (My yummy favourite) / Luca - alpha who’s the steady force, that know he wanted her so took it / Ethan - the sweet lovable Beta who keeps everyone grounded and a hacking wizard / Logan - the calm nerdy alpha doctor, so nurturing and supportive to everyone / and then theirs Maddox, the prime alpha - well he really wound me up at first, seemingly pushing Sadie away constantly, been totally nasty and horrid! This is the only minor part that annoyed me as she forgave him far too quickly and easy! But once that settled he became the soft dominant daddy who loved quietly but fiercely! The story was brilliant and kept me engaged throughout, the angst and drama and of course kidnapping suspense! The ending was perfect!
Insta be Love = Med, OW Drama = Yes, Alpha Men = Absolutely, 💯 Heat = 10/10, Angst = Low/Med MM/FF = Yes, MM POV = MPV, Theme = RH Omegaverse, Triggers = Health issues, violence, torture, knife play, kidnapping, shooting, medical abuse, mental health, verbal abuse, identity theft, Standalone - interconnected characters
5 out of 5 stars! I've been a fan of omegaverse romance for a while, so I really enjoy reading unique plots in this genre. This novel is a standalone story within a series of connected romances that I absolutely loved. It's a contemporary novel with a science fiction twist, and it's about a woman discovering her true self. At first, I thought it would follow the typical "switch" situation or the cliché of a woman realizing she's just a late bloomer, but I'm pleased to say that I was wrong. The characters and plot of this novel really drew me in. If you're into omegaverse romances like I am, I highly recommend this novel and the series it belongs to! The most redeeming thing about this book was one of the alphas named Swift. Like the first book, there were a lot of unanswered questions and the characters were pretty dumb. Sure, bring another omega that smells like your omega, back to the pack house…like that makes sense. You just happen to run into her while you’re looking for the fake doctor that experimented on your omega. Slap my forehead! Honestly, the jerky way the author makes her characters behave makes me mad and puts me in a bad place.
The treated the FMC like crap for the first 1/3 of the book. No groveling, either. Told from all POV. The spice was mostly good, but scenes were few and far between. I liked Sadie’s character and I was happy to see that she wasn’t afraid of her pack. The epilogue was 3 days after she left the hospital? That’s just another chapter. They revealed no updates on the other omega, her mother or the pharm company. Such a disappointing experience.

Must read!!! I absolutely loved this book. I started reading omega verses sometime late last year and it’s become one of my favorites when it comes to books, but a lot of them are similar in a way where there’s more spice than there is a plot. This book didn’t have that there was spice but it wasn’t overwhelmed to where the plot didn’t take place. In this book you’ll find Sadie who has been a beta her entire life get her life turned upside down while she’s at a club and presents and ends up with a bite mark. The journey with pack falcone is a rough one in the beginning and I found myself feeling Sadie’s emotions with her. Swift is my all time favorite MMC in this book he’s dark and broody and murderous but a total cinnamon roll for Sadie and I absolutely adored that. There is a lot of suspense in the book but it does end in a HEA. 💚
This book needs to come with a lot of warnings. I was not prepared to deal with the amount of twists and cruel surprises for Sadie our FMC. I know I was meant to read the first book first but come on a Omegaverse that’s mated to the mafia. My two favourite type of reads. Anyway there is sooo much packed into this standalone, I was mentally not ready for it. Thank god one of the pack alphas aka Swift who is my favourite from the very beginning did right by Sadie all the way through this story. I think he made the story much bearable to read.
So anybody attempting to start this read just be prepared for the unexpected, crying, screaming and frustration and that’s only from the FMC lol just get ready to have your whole world turned upside down. Just be prepared for anything and I mean anything.
This is the second in the series, but the first one I've read. I was astounded at how emotional the author makes us through Sadie's journey. Sadie is a Beta, or so she thinks. She's been sick as a kid since she was 8 years old but has no idea what illness she has. Wondering into a club for her usual hookup, she meets Luca (Alpha) and Ethan (Beta). The only trouble is that the Alpha keeps calling her "Omega" and asking her to accept his bite. She follows through thinking it's some role play. But she becomes an Omega overnight, and now the rest of his Pack will find out that he just bound them to a recently discovered Omega... The pack is judgemental, leaving her alone and confused. Add in the fact that there happens to be another Omega with her scent wandering around town. Is she a Beta or an Omega? And what was her illness?
Sadie’s story was a good addition to the FatedVerse world. If you need a solid resolution for every issue that happens in a book, this is not for you. It is messy, and at some points, you’re left wondering why the author made certain choices, but I feel like she ended the story well. I really enjoyed the scene at the club where Sadie discovers she is an omega and thought the guys were just role-playing. I thought that was a good way to show exactly how out of the loop Sadie was.
The other woman with the same scent was something I saw coming once we learned Sadie didn’t know what had happened to her as a child. If you can’t handle another woman being introduced, even though nothing happens, then this story is not for you. Overall, it was a good read, and I’m excited to read the next book in this world!

Okay, so I read this series out of order. Third book to the first book and finally the second book. I really enjoyed this whole series, but I have to admit that Knot Your Average Beta was my favorite.
Sadie's story pulls out your thoughts and emotions in a way that leaves a lasting impression. There are so many ways that her pain and insecurities are really striking. She is confused by suddenly becoming an omega, and how that happened. Once she realizes what happened there is the fear that she's not her pack's omega. And for Claudia to show was just the icing on the cake.
Swift is the kind of psycho alpha that Sadie needs. Get ready for waterworks while you read this. Both sad and happy tears.
Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (lots of fade to black, MM isn't strong, 1 heat) Angst 😩😩😩😩 (the other woman...a trope I'll be avoiding from now on, hated it) Story 🌟🌟 (see below)
There were a few plot lines that just faded and never concluded. I find that weird. - the door girl that Maddox apparently had slept with, she was mentioned a couple of times and then never again - it was never established whether he did or was - FMC's mother - got kidnapped, interrogated and all her money taken...then what? Where is she? Was she let go?? - the other woman - 1 super annoying character, but 2 she was again locked away once they figured things out, tortured a little....then what? Where is she?????
It was just too many things left unfinished which overall ruined this book for me.

Knot Your Average Beta follows Sadie as she tries to work through a designation change on top of receiving a mating bite from an alpha of the Falcone Pack. I loved the first book in this series and I was so happy when this one released and it was totally worth it. The story had twists and turns and a few things I wasn’t expecting to come out of it and I really enjoyed it. There is a bit of OW drama but totally worth it in the end, especially with the guys continuing to be sweet to Sadie. I think my favourite character is Swift, he’s just totally crazy and protective and I loved the humour he bought out.
I was telling my mom about it we raced to finish book without giving spoilers to each other coz it was suck a great story and well told. Love Sadies character building and how I now recognise my addiction to the psycho of the books as it's always them I'm drawn to ABSOLUTELY love swift!!!! I would rather have a guy that burns the world down for me and a lil crazy with his loving than a guy who would rather play games online every spare moment than spend time with me.
I'm struggling with how to review this book. The story was interesting but the manner of delivery... awful! If an author can't be bothered to proof read their material, which people are paying for, then I don't need to be buying from that author. The amount of spelling, grammar, just plain old typos in this book are ridiculous. For the love of God, "Its" DOES NOT EQUAL "It is". "It's" EQUALS "It is".There were at least a hundred of those mistakes. Even spelling multiple characters' name incorrectly! This author lost a reader.
Sadie’s story is definitely a heart wrenching tale that makes you strap on your reading glasses and keep reading because you have to know what’s going to happen next. Her Alphas are pretty amazing even her Prime, although it takes him a minute to realize how much his actions to protect and ensure her comfort are actually hurting her. My new book boyfriend for this book has to be swift though. He never wavers or backs away even when his prime alpha tried to tell him to.
Okay, heres the thing. I liked this one but it still had its faults. I wish we would've seen Sadie with the girls because why were they pretty much nonexistent??? Also, kinda hated the mmcs because why were they leaving her alone for like 40% of the book... HELLO? Also, hated how much Sadie changed when she presented as an omega because wdym she went from standing up to these alphas to allowing some random ass omega try to stake a claim on her pack?? what? dumb.
Anyways, my favorite mmc was Swift because he was 1000% all in since the start.
