I wanted to rate this set of books more of a 4 star, but... 1) the reinforcements on the internet are already free to the public, the game provided is silly and noisy, and their other internet learning material needs to be paid for separately on top of the $50 paid for for the set 2) it was $50 3) Similar resources can be found on the internet for free 4) the books claim that they take you to an advanced level, but upon purchasing them and viewing the advanced book, I saw it was more intermediate-level. There are similar complaints on the internet by those who already understand Arabic fairly well. 5) There isn't much modern interactive or digital reinforcement that I would have liked to see. The fact that it's called "living language" is a bit of misnomer considering the material is learned through audio and repetition in a workbook.
That being said, I did enjoy this product and would recommend it as a side dish, if you will. My favorite apps I found for vocabulary (though pricey) are Drops and Fun Easy Learn.
English version- After 7 months of studying with these books, I write this: They're good, but not amazing. They're good when you want to learn Arabic and you haven't studied it before. But they won't take you very far. Book #1 was excellent. I learned a lot of words. Book #2 was good- I learned some words and the past tense. That is very important. Book #3 was just bad. It gave me words and words and I remember nothing. If you're starting to learn Arabic, these books are for you. But they won't take you to an "Advanced" level.
