Something old, something new...and something obnoxious!

There are some good tales in here from all KINDS of places. But, be warned, some are dumbed down; narrated in such a fashion as to put the reader into sugar shock.

I liked this book, it harkens back to a time when fairy tales were Grimm and gritty. I can see some parents raising a stink about this for a few of its downright frightening scenes and grisly moments. However, the darkness only served to make the light shine brighter! Love, death, magic, monsters, faraway lands, brave heroes, and fiendish villains- this is exactly what I'm looking for in a fairy tale book!

A mediocre book of mediocre stories written to resemble fairy tales. Suffers from historical defects such as misogyny, racism, violence, and religion.

I guess some of the stories were better than others, but it would be better not to waste your time on this at all.
