Firstly thank you to Netgalley and Ellon Press for providing me with an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

While this is part of a series I can honestly say it’s adorable as a standalone as I haven’t read anything else in this series. We have a Lady and a Finance Bro who hate each other (for good reason) working hard on a project to save their families. It’s true enemies to lovers, quirky humour, very British shenanigans and overall a heartwarming message

Our FMC struggles with what it means to trust in others when you have only had yourself. Our MMC struggles with dropping everything he thought he needed to be in order to be true to himself. Their tension, the ensemble cast and the friction move this story along at a great pace

I deeply enjoyed this book!

She’s got a plan. He’s got abs and a giant… ego. 💪

Enemies-to-lovers is my favourite trope and you don’t get more enemies-to-lovers than Estelle Foxbrooke and James Hunter-Savage… Estelle is one of the main side characters in Love ad Lib and An Unholy Affair and James is the man you love to hate. I’ve had an absolute blast with this book. Both Estelle and James are fiery and funny, and putting them together has been explosive! There’s high drama, scorching steam, unicorn slippers, shotguns and a company called ‘Big Dick Energy Entertainment’...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“The Upper Crush is chock-full of hilarious passive-aggressive antics, slow-burn tension, and off-the-charts steam. The undercurrent of emotions, slowly peeling away the protective layers Estelle and James armored themselves in for so long… ugh, my heart. I won't even include all my highlights, because I don't want to spoil the experience. Plus, all the Foxbrooke's and friends we've come to adore joining in on all the chaos and laughter are the perfect addition to this enemies-to-lovers rom-com romp!”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“This book was a slow burn, enemies forced to work together in close proximity with fiery chemistry, witty banter and hysterical pranks. It was difficult to put down and not to become emotionally involved with Estelle and James and the outcome of the Foxbrooke festival. Because it is cleverly told via dual POV it becomes easier to like both Estelle and James despite each of their misperceptions about the other and hope for their HEA. Add in her adorable pups, obnoxious slippers, "gifts" to him and ridiculous pranks and the book is LOL funny. But once they give into their chemistry it is also "five red hot chili peppers" of steam worthy - oh my!”

“Evie’s books are always such a laugh out loud and spicy treat! I was laughing so much as I was reading along. You get spice, angst, conflict, humor, and a stellar storyline! This story was so enjoyable and entertaining from start to finish. Her writing is so vivid I could picture every scene and interaction in my mind. The enemies to lovers trope is done so epically well in this book. There is so much tension and angst between Estelle and James. I loved all of the building tension and the flirty banter! The spicy scenes are oh so spicy and I couldn’t get enough of them together! I didn’t want the story to end because I was so obsessed with the characters and enjoyed every moment in Foxbrooke. I loved the ending, and I can’t wait for the rest of the books in the series!!!”

“Evie Alexander just keeps getting better and better. This is her best book yet! This story is full of heart, humour, main characters you'll fall in love with, and a deliciously page-turning plot (with plenty of steam). I couldn't put it down. Thanks, Evie, for giving me several hours of unadulterated pleasure. Get it. Read it. Love it.”

“This book had all of the funny quips I've come to expect from Evie Alexander, and as always, still has so much heart. With this latest installment in the Foxbrooke series we finally see Estelle win her HEA. The banter between James and Estelle is top notch, perfect for the enemies to lovers vibe. I adored the little jokes they play on each other to try and get under each others’ skin. The best part of this whole book though was seeing what was behind James Hunter Savage, seeing the insecurities, meeting his family, and finally getting an explanation as to why he is the way he is. And the spice, the spice was PERFECTION. I really liked how the first night they spent together was told through James’ POV. I feel like in romance books so many encounters are told through the woman’s perspective. It was refreshing and different to get the whole situation from the male POV. And it was HOT!”
Elizabeth

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“Wow, I could not put this down! I was not expecting this story, after all, James was quite the villain from the previous books. What a clever, clever storyteller knowing that James could be redeemed. Their love story, although a slow burn, was worth every page. Their dynamic was amazing, with creative banter and steamy scenes. There is something special about someone who is a good person but has made some really bad choices, learning how to right those wrongs and move forward into love. I think it is probably a difficult thing to take a character that has created so much animosity and bring forth a story to love from that, but this author has succeeded with great aplomb. I had so much fun with this book!”

From the unexpected beginning to the happy ending, I was beguiled with the snarky characters and fun and exciting plot.

Both Lady Estelle Foxbrooke and James Hunter-Savage are dealing with insecurities that occurred when they were young children. Estelle hates James for how he treated her twin brother and James is attracted to Estelle, but is sure she won't forgive him for what he did. However, they have been thrown together to make sure the Foxbrooke annual event goes on without a hitch and both of them are hiding reasons why it may not be held at all.

I have never instantly disliked characters more than Estelle and James.  Her immaturity, unprofessionalism and entitlement is equal to his arrogance and disdain for the beautiful setting of Somerset. However, they become redeemable the more one gets to know their unfortunate sacrifices they make for their silly, dysfunctional families.

The volatile chemistry between Estelle and James is so sexy and exciting to watch as the big event gets closer and their secrets are revealed. Estelle's gifts to James are funny, creative, and hostile and I love how James cherishes them knowing they are not meant to be friendly.

Read this book if you enjoy hilarious pranks and banter, adorable puppies, and certifiable family members. I need to go back and read the other books in this series.

Thank you to Ms. Alexander for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

Rating 4/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spice levels - 3/5 🌶️

The Upper Crush by Evie Alexander is #3 in the Foxbrooke series but as someone who hasn’t read the first 2 books (yet) I can gladly say this can definitely be read as a stand-alone!

I slowly fell in love with Estelle and James and their distinct personalities really shine. Their chemistry had a nice build with an explosive ending! I also love the inclusion of an index with all the sexy scenes so you can reread or skip if you want!

There wasn’t as many “country girl x City Boy” dynamic as I expected but that didn’t take away from the experience.

The spice was excellent and the dual POV really adds to it! This book had me blushing all the way through!

If you enjoy workplace romance enemies to lovers rom-coms you will definitely enjoy this book!

I will definitely be going back and reading the first two books in this series and maybe rereading this again! Thanks so much to NetGalley for the ARC !

I couldn't put down this book, it's utterly hilarious and so much fun.
Evie Alexander was a new author for me upon reading The Upper Crush, I was convinced to read it purely on the beautiful cover but I definitely stayed for the amount of fun I had reading it. I was giggling like a schoolgirl reading TUC, Estelle and James were so easy to love - albeit James took me around 70% of the book before I loved him. (He has great character development!)

It has all the romance tropes I adore; enemies to lovers, he falls first, forced proximity and fake dating! There is fun family dynamics, angst and a whole ton of spice which was very welcome.

I really enjoyed Evie's writing, the words just flow so easily and I think it is safe to say, I have found a new romance author to adore. I'm currently reading Love ad Lib, as soon as I finished The Upper Crush I knew I wanted more!

I loved this book. I was drawn to the cover first and foremost as I had not read anything from this author before —and I was not disappointed. I loved the characters and their rivalry, and the writing was also very pleasant and easy to read. The story was engaging, if not a little long at times. I have given it 4 stars because of that last bit; as I sometimes struggled to keep on going with the story with how drawn out it was at first, and how long it took the characters to finally get over their differences. Still, I really liked it and I had a great time reading this!

Thank you again NetGallery for the advanced copy!

One of my favorite tropes is the enemies to lover, and the author did a fantastic job with it here. I loved seeing Estelle's hatred for James turn to love, as well as seeing another aspect of him and learning about his past.

Evie Alexander was a new author to me when I read The Upper Crush; I was drawn in by the lovely cover, but I remained for the amount of fun I had reading it. The words effortlessly flowed from Evie's writing, and I think it's safe to say that I've discovered a new romance writer to love.

3,5/3,75⭐️

Tropes:

-Enemies-to-lovers (kind of)
-Small-town romance
-Office romance

First of all, thank you NetGalley and Emlin Press for the ARC.

"The Upper Crush" by Evie Alexander is the third book of the Foxbrooke series.

This was my first book written by this author and, even though it can be read as a standalone, I suggest reading the previous books before in order to understand better the characters and their relationships.

Honestly, it took me a bit to get into this book, but I'm glad that I didn't DNF it.

I loved the banter between Estelle and James and the family dynamics.

(Spoilers)

At the same time, I don't really consider them enemies and James fell for Estelle right away, but nevertheless, it was still a pretty enjoyable read for me once I got into it.

The Upper Crush by Evie Alexander
This is book 3 in the Foxbrooke series. You can read it as a standalone, but you will miss some of the redemption arc for JHS.

Things I am here for:
Estelle is a black woman, with big main character energy!
James Hunter-Savage, do we hate him, can we love him?
Bev is ADORABLE.
Arthur's new radio antics are so fun
Estelle and James both have parents who love them, and do whatever they want even if it's embarrassing. At first I was going to say they don't listen to their children, but it's more that they just continue on with their plans after listening.
Estelle’s inner monologue is as excellent as the previous books
Estelle barefoot with a shotgun
Estelle climbing a trellis
Estelle nailing mounted archery
Estelle's handmade gifts
James’ cappuccino deliveries
James’ signature scents
James’ character arc
The scene where Henry wants the key to the armory. Absolutely HILARIOUS!
The dinner where both families get together is a gem!

This is an ARC, and it's not the finished product. I hope Evie keeps this bit in. It is Spectacular.
‘Smythson and Montblanc,’ she exclaimed. ‘Bloody hell, we are pulling out all the stops. Can I use it?’
‘The paper?’
‘The pen. I want to pretend I have a small penis and am signing a law on women’s reproductive rights. That or a weapons contract.’

I received a digital ARC of this book. I love this author. This is book 3 in the series, and could technically be read as a stand alone, but most of the characters, including the main female lead, are in the first 2 books. What do you do when you literally fall into the arms of the most hunky man you've ever seen.... only to find out that it's your twin brother's archnemeses. Lady Estelle Foxbrooke has the hots for her yoga teacher, but he's clearly not interested. Now she's being forced to work with James Hunter-Savage, who is an absolute hunk, but is off limits due to the situation with her twin brother. She decides she will be horrible to him so he backs out of the partnership for the festival that she had dreamed of putting on. But while she's working with James, she learns a lot about him. Maybe he isn't so bad after all. As James and Estelle fight for control of the festival, and fight their attraction to each other, you won't want to stop turning the pages.

We are reintroduced to Lady Estelle Foxbrooke. Estelle is the twin sister of Henry who we met in Book one of the series. In this book we find Estelle getting ready to plan a festival on the family property in order to help save the manor. Much to her dismay she has to team up with one person that she really hates the most. James Hunter-Savage.
.
James Hunter Savage is now in the countryside where he is forced to live with his eccentric mother and father. This is a far cry from a city playboy life that he used to live when he worked for the same investment firm that Henry did. He's both excited and thoroughly irritated that he now has to work with the one person that he finds the most attractive but also the most infuriating.
.
Through planning the festival the two of them buttheads and also but a few other things. They find out that both of them have had some preconceived notions that couldn't be further from the truth about each other. Is the festival ultimately going to bring them together or pull them further apart from each other?
.
Will Estelle and James be able to come to terms with their differences and make the festival worthy of all of their hard work? Or will it just all blow up in their faces?
.
Like with all of Evie's books this is full of angst, hilarity and lots of spice. Each book can be read as a standalone but is much better read as the series. Evie never fails to have an entire cast that is interesting in their own right and makes you want to read every single person's story. I really enjoyed this book and am very much looking forward to where their story goes throughout the remaining series.

I love an enemies to lovers trope, forced proximity trope, and fake partner trope, and this had them all!
We've been getting to know the Foxbrooke family over the last few books, and James Hunter-Savage was introduced as the bad boy ex pain in the neck colleague of Henry. From the start, we knew there were sparks between James and Estelle, but in this book, we discover it's not just sparks but a whole inferno!!
Of course, we have updates on the couples we love, Henry and Libby; Eveline and Jack, and are introduced to some new characters to continue this series on.
The storyline is so wonderfully funny, sweet, sexy and warm. I really loved seeing James and Estelle open up about their insecurities and really developing as people.
Of course, it wouldn't be an Evie book without a bit of spice, and hoo boy, was it hot!
Another absolutely fabulous book by a wonderful lady, can't wait for the next one!

This book is a fountain of entertainment for all who enjoy enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy. Besides being funny and moving, it has a good plot and likeable characters.

Yes, the country girl gives a cocky city boy a run for his money, but he can give back as good as he gets, and surprising each other with their actions and reactions is the salt, pepper and chili of the dialogues. On the surface, their interactions are explosive and devastating, battle after battle between worthy opponents - she a general with a loyal army at her back, he a ninja of smoke and mirrors with a weak link to protect. Both are fighting for survival after love at first sight and against a sizzling chemistry - she challenges him to yield, and he's taking it in stride, a 6 months stalemate with an expiration date upping the ante.

But there are many layers under this surface, and the deepest is a common one of childhood trauma and embarrassing parents. You will, of course, cheer them on and enjoy the spectacle, I thoroughly enjoyed not only their interactions and their growth, but the good writing, beautiful metaphors and nature descriptions in the book, and will definitely want to read more from this author.

And since we’re at Foxbrooke manor of course we get to interact with all our prior MCs and get peeks into their happy love lives, as well as glimpses and hints of future Foxbrooke romances. All your favorite characters make an appearance to come help out their favorite horse girl and her enemy turned nice guy pull off the festival to save the manor.
Now this American needs to know if French Fancies are a real thing, and if so how to get some stateside.

I was given an arc for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

4.5 stars rounded up.
I have to admit that when I first saw that Estelle's book was going to have her matching up with James Hunter-Savage, I was a bit disappointed. My absolute favorite side character from Love Ad Lib, one of the main reasons that that book became a favorite of mine, was supposed to get together with the villain of that very same book?? I didn't see how it could possibly work out and was hoping for something better for the queen that Estelle is. However, given how much I loved Love Ad Lib and enjoyed An Unholy Affair, I decided to trust that Evie Alexander would work her magic.

While it took me awhile to warm up to it, I have to say that she did just that. As far as enemies to lovers books go, this really is the epitome of that. Estelle has to hate James for what he did to her twin brother and her younger sister in Love Ad Lib. Mix that trope in with a bit of forced proximity as they have to work together to save each of their family's from financial ruin, and it's already a great combo. But what I really appreciated most about this setup was that we also get the "he falls first" trope. James doesn't feel comfortable with expressing his feelings openly to Estelle and tries to hide the extent of them from the get-go, so it is from Estelle that we get all the animosity. Of course, she is still attracted to him early on, but she does everything she can to sabotage their working arrangement so that she can get out of it. (The fork U and the fur Q were two of my absolute favorite pranks I've ever heard of.) So really, this book was hitting on some of my favorite romance tropes.

As far as Estelle goes, I continued to love her in this book, just as I did in Love Ad Lib. She is a badass that will put up with no nonsense and will push to get what she wants, especially when it comes to defending her family. At the same time, deep down, she wants to be able to be vulnerable, to be taken care of, and to be loved. She is an amazing character and while her personality is so different from mine that I couldn't aspire to being like her, I would love to have her as a best friend. Her wit, humor, and banter would be endlessly entertaining.

When it comes to James, Evie Alexander did well with showing right from the start that things could not have quite been what they seemed in Love Ad Lib. It became evident very quickly that while he was trying to be professional and salvage what he could of his family's finances, he was doing his best to turn over a new leaf and had a big heart hidden behind the facade that he had built up. Still, I had a hard time completely warming up to him. I just wasn't quite feeling it for most of the book and was pretty convinced that at most this was going to be a four star read for me because he wasn't really doing it for me. But then a few things happened. When he and Estelle finally started being open with each other, I realized that Estelle would need someone like James as a romantic partner. While I myself was very much attracted to someone like Henry in Love Ad Lib, that wouldn't work with Estelle. She is too fiery and lively and forceful and would need someone to match her in that. It was then that I realized that while James wasn't exactly who I would go for, he is someone that many others would. And then I got to about 85% of the way through the book and I really came around to James. Without giving spoilers, it is at that point that James has a shift in his character and starts truly taking accountability for his actions and lets go of his facade completely. Evie Alexander did this shift in such a great way that the book immediately jumped to a higher rating for me and I felt much more satisfied with the whole story. So for the readers that are more like me and not completely into James as a romantic hero, please stick it out because his arc is worth it and is very well done.

Now for a couple of small things that I got a kick out of with the book.

-I loved and lived for all the silly family dynamics. This is something that I really loved from Evie Alexander in Wedding Games and she continues to be a pro at it with this book. All of the embarrassing things that both Estelle's and James' parents do just made me smile so much. At first they come across as ridiculous and unrealistic, but most of what happens is not too much of a stretch with most people in trying to not have their own families do cringe-worthy things in front of their romantic partners.

-Once again, Evie Alexander seems to have similar favorite things to me, and I loved it. I already got Star Wars and Pride and Prejudice in previous books, and now it was Spice Girls. I took it as a sign that I was going to like the book when I was reading and came to a part that Estelle was talking about the group and one of their songs came on my playlist.

-You gotta appreciate that Evie Alexander knows her audience and knows what they want. The spicy scene index is always a win.

Oh Evie....what have you done to me!!

Now, I've said before about the many, many things I love about Evie's books - one being that she manages to write characters who literally jump off the page and embed themselves into your heart!
Even when introducing new characters, they just instantly fit in and join the "Foxbrooke" family.

In this book we are reunited with a character who we've previously met - and he has always been the exception to this rule!
James Hunter-Savage.
Remember - dear old Henry's long time bully!?
Well, he's back and I wasn't looking forward to seeing him igniting a relationship with anyone here.....

But somehow, Evie had managed to have me eating my words within very few pages and the more we see of his past and see him develop through the book - the more I warmed to him!

This book is a great lesson for us all to not judge a book by its cover - everyone makes mistakes and everyone has their reasons for doing even the worst of things.

Once again, therefore, I loved absolutely everything about this book!

It's fun, it's exciting, it's super spicy and it's so, so funny in many places - I'm literally fed up with explaining to the family, why I'm sitting here chuckling away to myself!

Evie is an absolute must-read, auto-buy author for me and I have loved literally everything she's written.
I already cannot wait to read the next book, The Love Position - am so, so excited to see more of Sophia and meet the gorgeous Isaac! As well as catching up with all the gang too.

I love how eccentric, hilarious, ostentatious and amazing Estelle and James story is. From Estelle's eccentric family and to James's outstations one I was hooked and laughing out loud at every part. I absolutely love all the Foxbrooke's and now I love the Hunter-Savage's as well. In the beginning of the story, it would have been so easy to hate obnoxious James Hunter-Savage and his superior misplace ego as most of the Foxbrooke siblings did, but something about how he acted struck me reminding me of someone I knew who also hid behind a facade. I do have to say I adored Estelle's fiery comeback, carrying nature and how hard she tried not to fall for James's charm and innuendos, and of course his appendage and muscles. Estelle and James creative banter with the double meaning and embarrassing situations added so much to their story and had me both blushing and begging for more. Their flirty banter and steamy scenes were such a bonus as well as fan out moments … WOW! The shenanigans, gifts and corny moments had me giggling and wondering what could possibly top that. Estelle captivated my heart on her approach with how to deal with having to work with her and her twin brother's nemesis, sexy James Hunter-Savage. I loved catching up with Henry and Libby (yay about their announcement), and Eveline and Jack (OMG I was so excited with their news) and the other siblings as well.

The Upper Crush (Foxbrooke, #3) by Evie Alexander

I am in love with this book! It is a total package.

Lady Estelle Foxbrooke is determined to save her family's estate. But when she's saddled with a business partner she's always despised, her plans take an unexpected turn. James Hunter-Savage, a successful Londoner forced to leave the city after a catastrophic business failure, becomes Estelle's unlikely partner.

Their explosive personalities combust into passion, pushing Estelle's plans to the edge of ruin. As they jockey for position, will they realize their love is worth fighting for? Or are their hearts and hard work heading for the ultimate fall?

"The Upper Crush" is a delightful enemies-to-lovers romance set in a small town. Evie Alexander weaves humor, tension, and steam into this standalone novel.

Lady Estelle's fiery determination clashes with James's cocky demeanor, creating a captivating dynamic. The undercurrent of emotions slowly peels away their protective layers, making their journey both heartwarming and entertaining.

Though Estelle irritated me at times with her one-sided trail of thoughts, it was good to see her grow, and James too. With snort-laughs, swoons, and a heartwarming happy ending, this rom-com is a must-read! The sexual tension and those steamy scenes—I need to fan myself. James is hot.

Evie Alexander's writing combines wit, relatable characters, and irresistible chemistry. I loved how emails, messages, and the inner thoughts of characters were written. It was amazing. There are so many tropes combined into this: fake dating, workplace romance, alpha hero, and a bit of miscommunication. I am going to have another post with lines I loved.

If you enjoy enemies-to-lovers stories with a countryside twist, "The Upper Crush" won't disappoint. Grab a copy, settle in, and prepare for a delightful escape into Foxbrooke!

Estelle and James have been gearing up for a battle long before they are forced to work together to get the Foxbrooke festival off the ground and make it a success. There’s something underneath all their pent up frustration with each other and it looks an awful lot like lust and sexual tension.

James sees Estelle for the fiery and fierce force of nature that she is who’s always caring for others before herself and he wants so desperately to share the side of himself he keeps hidden away. James is enemy no. 1 but the more Estelle actually gets to know him she finds her concrete walls starting to crack but can she fully take that risk or is the possibility of a crash and burn too high?

I love when text messages/emails/notes are included throughout a story and this book had some great messages that really let us see where their heads were at and how they were feeling towards the other.

The Upper Crush is the third book in this interconnected romance series set in the town of Foxbrooke with an eccentric group of family and friends. The next book follows Sophia (James’s sister) and hot yoga instructor Issac as they navigate the pull between waiting to stay away from each other while completing giving into their desires.

Lady Estelle Foxbrooke & James Hunter-Savage cross paths when Estelle falls into his arms from a bannister she was decorating for the Winter Ball at Foxbrooke.

James is Estelle’s twin brother’s nemesis, and Estelle hates him with a vengeance, but she finds herself warming towards him, but fighting her feelings every step of the way.

This is a lovely story of enemies to lovers, with added steam, as well as laugh out loud moments.

The story charts the rise and fall of their relationship, as they work together to ensure Estelle’s vision of a Music Festival is brought to fruition, despite their lack of funds.

The Foxbrooke family feature throughout the telling of the tale, as well as the Hunter-Savage family, who are welcomed into the Foxbrooke fold. There are problems along the way, not least when James’ father is imprisoned in China, and James leaves Estelle to hold the fort with little or no contact due to time and distance.
Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this read, and am awarding it 5 stars with no hesitation.

"James Hunter-Savage was used to holding life by the balls, but it had turned around and kicked him in the nuts."
James had played the role of rake and playboy to the hilt but when he loses his job and is forced to come home, he prepares himself for the ninth level of hell- living in Somerset with his parents and hated next-door neighbors The Foxbrookes.
Estelle Foxbrooke is used to being in control but she needs help if she is going to run a successful festival. She just never thought that her twin brother's arch rival James Hunter-Savage is the help. Estelle and James spark off and butt heads from the start but they'll need to come together in order to save the festival.

With a great writer like Evie Alexander, the reader gets sucked right into the story and is in for one witty, charming, funny, and satisfying ride. The chemistry between Estelle and James is off the charts, the steamy scenes are powerful and passionate. The humor is what makes this series just so great. This can be read as a stand-alone however it is better and the storyline is clearer when you have read the previous books. The Foxbrooke family and Estelle's friends Eveline, Finn, Jack, and others make appearances in this book. Fantastic character development of both the male and female leads, and even a secondary character.
This is a big book but an easy read, however, I did feel that there were some scenes that could have been more succinctly tied up and less wordy because it does tend to drag on in some areas. But, the banter and drama keep it alive and drive the reader to want more.
Highly recommended!

This was a great enemies to lovers romance. I was a bit ambivalent about the story because I didn’t love the first half but the second half was beyond amazing. I think it took too long for James to show his true character and I didn’t like that I spent the first half of the book actively hating the MMC. But when I finally got to really see the real him, I loved him. Estelle was an amazing character and I loved her from the beginning even if she was very prone to jumping to conclusions about James.

The story was so well written and that was a very big part of my rating. The author just has a way with words that makes me feel like the story is real. And I love that.

"Whatever you want, I'm going to give it to you."

📖 The upper crush, Evie Alexander

It was so interesting read, that I managed to read +530 pages in a week!

This story is about Estelle and James, who we met in 2nd book (she's Henry's sister and he's Henry's rival).
Estelle and James need to work together to plan and make Foxbrooke festival succesful because they both need money.

Rivals soon become friends- and - are hamster hormones guilty that they feel more and more to each other?

But there are more and more problems facing them... Will the festival be even approved? Why is Estelle living with his ex? And what's the deal with pink car?

------
I enjoyed in this story, and I liked all the previous characters encounters. James wasn't bad guy as he was portrayed earlier. It is a long book. But... It has so many funny scenes, smuty encounters, serious topics, bunch of animals involved.. This might be one of my favourite in series. But hold on, Evie has much more books in series to write.

I reveived ARC copy from author and
booksirens . All opinions are my own.

Evie Alexander has written another corker of a story!
Leading up to this book, I know I was supposed to not like James but as soon as I started reading The Upper Crush, I really felt for him, so much so, I found I really really liked him. Naturally I was curious to see how the pairing with Estelle would go down.
Both our main characters have something to prove and the journey to getting this festival up and running is both hilarious, heart breaking and beautifully passionate! ♥
There's more I want to say but in my excitement, I may reveal something that you should discover whilst reading yourself but I promise you, you will love reading this book.
Also this is best read after you have read 1 and 2 just for continuity of understanding just how much of a big 'issue' James Hunter-Savage is in Foxbrooke

This is a true enemies to lovers book. Lady Estelle must work with her twin brothers nemesis, James to help save their families financial future. Through this the tension and sexually tension mount. Through all of this they realize that they have true feelings for each other. I loved this whole series.

How fun is this book! It is the enemies to lovers trope played out in the British countryside. Estelle and James are forced to work together to create a music festival in order (unbeknownst to the other) save each of their families’ estates. The banter is top notch British humor (no u I am too American). Estelle was a bit off the handle in the beginning, at least for a stand alone, I suspect if I had read the earlier books in the series, I could have been just as rash about James. But the awesome this is she gradually let’s go of the hate and opens her heart. The reader gets to go through that journey with them. The side characters are a hoot. And reading it just made me smile. (I received an ARC.) Can’t wait for the next one!

I absolutely loved this book! Enemies to lovers is one of my most favorite tropes and the author did it so well here. I loved watching Estelle’s hatred for James evolve into love and we got to see a different side of James and learn his backstory. It was a funny, sexy read as you can always expect from this author and I’m looking forward to the next installment in this series!

This was a really cute book. I love everything about James Character. He’s so sweet and charming. His character has definitely been through some stuff but I love how he works to truly find his happiness. Estelle was just ok for me. Her insecurities and self doubt really irked me. The back stories and families of Estelle and James were well done it really added a great layer to the story.

We are heading back to Foxbrooke for Book 3 in the series by Evie Alexander. The Upper Crush is the perfect small town enemies to lovers story.
.
We are reintroduced to Lady Estelle Foxbrooke. Estelle is the twin sister of Henry who we met in Book One of the series. In this book, we find Estelle getting ready to plan a festival on the family property in order to help save the manor. It a last ditch effort to dig the family out of the hole her father put them in. Much to her dismay she has to team up with one person that she really hates the most. James Hunter-Savage.
.
James Hunter Savage is now forced to live with his eccentric mother and father due to the hole his father put them in. This is a far cry from the city playboy life that he used to live where he happened to work for the same investment firm that Henry did. He's both excited and thoroughly irritated that he now has to work with the one person that he finds the most attractive but also the most infuriating. A stubborn woman who doesn't like not being the one in control.
.
Through planning the festival the two of them buttheads, push each other's buttons and start to understand the other. They find out that both of them have had some preconceived notions that couldn't be further from the truth about each other. Is the festival ultimately going to bring them together or pull them further apart from each other?
.
Will Estelle and James be able to come to terms with their differences and make the festival worthy of all of their hard work? Or will it just all blow up in their faces?
.
Like with all of Evie's books this is full of angst, hilarity and spice. Each book can be read as a standalone but are much better read in series order. Evie never fails to have an entire cast that is interesting in their own right and makes you want to read every single person's story. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am very much looking forward to where their story goes throughout the remaining series. Next up is Book Four: The Love Position!
