I picked this up because it was making its rounds in spicy book fb groups and I was so severely disappointed.
There is art inside the book at the start of every chapter which is one of the reasons I picked it up, but after seeing a few images, you can’t help but notice the inconsistencies.
- hands that are VERY OFF (ai can’t draw hands)
- missing limbs
- random line definition on limbs
- ears being a blob
- different body shape for the fmc in almost every image
There’s so much more but I can’t be bothered listing them. The art is either AI generated or done by a human that 100% needs more practice…
The story itself was mid. I have nothing against short smutty stories and instalove, but this story just pissed me off. The fmc gave off strong independent vibes at first but after she gets kidnapped, she rolls over for him like an absolute doormat.
Neither of the characters have ANY personality and the ONLY thing they do in the span of 2 days is go at it like animals and then at the end, you expect me to believe that they have somehow formed an emotional connection and actually ‘love each other’?
So incredibly disappointed.

I don’t mind an occasional read that’s predominately spice (even all spice). But whyyyy is the MMC this pig-ish? He’s so unlikeable that I couldn’t enjoy the read but pushed myself through it since it was short.

Just a book of spice. Which I now realize this is just not my kind of book, spice with no flavour is just boring to me. There's a reason why there's a short story structure and there's only one point of climax.
After reading this I take back what I insinuated about Icebreaker, there is a lot of plot in Icebreaker.

At the beginning I was slightly worried as Q gave off very psychotic vibes but as I kept reading I liked him more and more. I loved how Gillian was a curvy FMC, I would’ve loved to have her put up more of a fight at the beginning but if you have someone hot with a giant 🐓 in front of you wanting you I probably wouldn’t say no. The spice was super hot! My favourite scene was the first time Gillian took control in the bedroom 🥵 ohhh and the scene at the pub 🥵 . Overall was a good read.

This was such a good quick read! But don't be fooled, it's super steamy! I loved Q and his dirty talking! And Gillian was refreshing, not naive but not overly feisty. She was a balanced character who was instantly enamored with Q, just as he was with her. The ending was a big surprise that left me smiling! And I loved the artwork scattered throughout!

trying to pinpoint why i hated this book is hard.
-the length? no, i read novellas all the time.
-instalust/instalove? nope, all those novellas i read require insta, there’s simply no time for a slow burn.
-only smut, no plot? nope, i read 90% smut, a lot of it with an 85/15 smut to plot ratio.
-the abducting/CNC? can’t be that, love that trope.
-cupid? paranormal? huge members? nope, some of my favorites of all time have all of these things.
must be because the writing’s trash and the characters are unlikeable. this feels like it was written by a straight male AI, if that makes sense?
