Urcelia Teixeira is an award-winning author of gripping Christian Mystery Thrillers.

You will enjoy her books if you like twisty mysteries tinged with clean action, page-turning suspense, and deep-rooted biblical truths.
All her books are free from profanity and unnecessary sexually suggestive scenes.

She made her writing debut in December 2017, kicking off her newly discovered author journey with her fast-paced archaeological adventure thriller novels that readers have described as ‘Indiana Jones meets Lara Croft with a twist of Bourne.’

But, five novels in, and nearly eighteen months later, she had a spiritual awakening, and she wrote the sixth and final book in her Alex Hunt Adventure Thriller series. She now fondly refers to The Caiaphas Code as her redemption book, her statement of faith.

And although this series has reached multiple Amazon Bestseller lists, she took the bold step of following her true calling and switched to writing what naturally flows from her heart and soul: Christian Suspense.

A committed Christian for nearly twenty years, she now lives by the following mantra:

“I used to be just a writer. Now, I am a writer with a purpose!”

The Plot: I've never read any suspense books where the primary plot centered around art and art smuggling, so that in itself makes this book interesting. Add in characters' goals, secrets, and the danger, and nonstop--and I do mean nonstop--action, and it's a unique plot that quickly captures your attention.

The Characters: I haven't read the first book in this series, but I felt I didn't have to, since the author did so well with Jorja's character arc. She is a sympathetic character, and the reader is immediately drawn into the struggles she faces and the unenviable choices she must make. PLus her faith arc! So believable. I liked how her faith wavered, she questioned God, and her overall struggle. I think authors sometimes forget new Christians aren't strong in their faith walk yet. Pascale is a different sort of character. Charismatic and secretive, I couldn't figure him out until his secret was revealed at the very end (and what an ending!).

Random Thoughts:
"No explosions." I love it! That character's preference for blowing things up definitely added some humor. He reminded me of Wrecker on The Bad Batch.

The villains. Ugh. Nasty things. I love finding villains I can easily hate.

Shadow of Fear is an engaging tale with strong faith andsuspenseful and action elements. Congratulations, Urcelia, on your latest release!

This is the second book in the series but the first I've read by Urcelia Teixeira, so my analysis might be different had I read the first book in the series before this one. This story starts at the end of the previous story with Jorja Rose, a new Christian who had been a legendary thief, her friend Ben, and a thieving associate named Gustav finding themselves held captive by Jorja's ultimate enemy Sokolov. The only way that Jorja can save their lives is by promising to steal a painting that Sokolov bought but was stolen from him. If she can't find and steal it within a week, Sokolov will kill Ben.

The story is fast paced. Jorja struggles between needing to use the skills she has not practiced for years to save Ben and her new faith. However, I found her hard to relate to, perhaps because of not reading the first book. I found it hard to keep track of her association with some of the other characters from her past also.

Jorja is trying so hard to be good and straight but nobody wants her that way.
She fights to save people but has to go back to old ways to go forward.
The twists and turns in this story keep you guessing till the end. Or is it the end?
Cliff-hangers keep you guessing right up to the teaser of the next books first chapter.
We need too see where Jorja’s life is led next as she tries to keep her low profile.
Can she?

Are you still buckled up, Reader? This book continues with its thrills, twists and turns!

Ok. I admit. I’m a huge James Bond fan. I love action, suspense, international espionage, and mystery. I love good (Bond) vs. evil. Well, Shadow of Fear met all of my expectations and then some. And, to top it off, an element of faith (rather, Jorja’s struggle with her new, shaky faith) is woven beautifully into the book. Urcelia delivers in this book. Big time.

Chapter 1 picks up where book one ended. Jorja, her former boyfriend, art thief (Ben), and fellow art thief Gustav are literally hanging in mid air. Artem Sokolov, their evil captor whom they had double crossed years earlier, is angry, very angry. He shoots one of the men and promises to kill the other in one week unless Jorja can steal the Salvador Mundai, a famous Leonardo Da Vinci painting that has been missing for many years.

Jorja is released. Fear grips at her heart as she knows a heist of this magnitude takes a lot of planning and…..she does not know where the painting is. Jorja picks up the Gideon Bible in her hotel room and asks God for help. She wants to live for God but in order to steal the painting, she will lie and break the law (God’s and man’s). Nonetheless, she prays and then steps back into her former art heist shoes and makes connections with past colleagues. (She wonders if God will help her with her impossible process.)

After piecing together fragments of information, she figures out where the Salvador Mundai is. Just at this time a mysterious man, Pascal Lupin, enters her life. Pascale eventually convinces her to let his team help her. She knows that without his skilled team’s help, the sands of time will run out and the other man will be killed by Sokolov.

I don’t want to spoil the roller coaster twists and turns that begin in the later part of the book. The coaster races to a cliff hanger ending. And, then to tease the reader, Urcelia gives a sneak peek into book 3, the culmination of the series. Oh! I admit it is difficult to wait to complete the series! More! More!

Urcelia keeps growing in her craft. I’ve read a number of her books, and this series takes the lead. I felt my heart drawn into the well-researched, full of adventure and suspense storyline. This book IS a page turner! I love that Urcelia’s books don’t have sex scene and foul language. There is always an element of faith woven in. Thank you!

Needless to say, I highly recommend this book! Reader, you do need to read Book 1 to fully enjoy this Jorja Rose sequel.

Add this book (series) to your reading list!

Get in, buckle up and hold on to your hats....

Book 2 for Jorja picks up right where book 1 ends and boy does it pack a punch.

So much action packed into 1 book with plenty of twists and turns.

Book 2, sees Jorja fighting her (inner) self between good and evil, trying to do what's best for her as well as everyone around her, trying to keep her faith as well as get the job done.

An awesome follow up to book 1 and cannot wait to see what's in store for Jorja in book 3.

A must read for any fan.

I was given an ARC copy of this book by the author. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

My thoughts about this book:

• Lots of action and intrigue that kept me reading late into the night.

• This story was fast paced, full of action, and suspense, and not boring.

• In this book, Jorja was more put together, and made wiser decisions. She was a well developed character and I enjoyed her problem solving capabilities.

• I liked the writing style of this author. Lots of excellent visual imagery for the reader.

• I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

I was given an advance copy of this book. My review was voluntary and my opinions were my own. I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy Christian suspense.

This could have benefitted from a little more fleshing out. And the deus ex machina are sometimes a little too on the nose.

In any case, those may have been intentional in order to work with the target demographic.

Urcelia Teixeira’s “Shadow of Fear: A Jorja Rose Christian Suspense Thriller” is Book 2 in the Valley of Death Series. This is the long awaited continuation of Jorja Rose’s mind bending journey.

This book was so the wait!

To recap Vengeance is Mine, Book 1:
Jorja Rose Is an amazing character, a woman with the past, a dangerous past but also a woman with a conscience the conscience that led her to make a choice and discover God in the process. Since taking refuge in an idyllic seaside town in Cornwall, England she has become an art gallery owner in the small town of St. Ives. They say our past catches up to us eventually and it looks like it’s catching up to Jorja. Those she burned are coming for her, to settle the score and take revenge.

When Myles, a friend in town is murdered her friend the sheriff, Ewan, a close friend starts asking questions. When Ewan becomes the second person to die Jorja devise she must take matters into her own hands. Ewan is the friend that helped her find God and his death devastated her. Forgetting his last words to her, “Leave anger to God” she was filled with anger. Fueled by her anger and revenge she goes into overdrive in this thrilling, edge of your seat story takes off into a wildly thrilling rollercoaster ride with up and downs, more twists and turns than a country road and an upside down, hang on for dear life ride.

When “Shadow of Fear“ begins, picking up where book one ended. We find Jorja, Ben, her former boyfriend and art thief and Gustav, a fellow art thief captured and hanging in chains from the rafters. The story starts off with the same heart pounding fervor as the 1st book and you better hang on tight because the action is nonstop, heart stopping, and intense, gripping and against seemingly insurmountable odds. This is one roller coaster ride you don’t want to miss!

The story itself feels cinematic and reminiscent In its presentation of a James Bond or Mission Impossible vibe with a very human but determined, indomitable heroine against vile and evil villains . With God all things are possible!

Urcelia Teixeira is a talented wordsmith who excels at her craft with every new book. Her writing is excellent, from the convoluted plot execution to the incredible character development.

I really enjoy and appreciate how the author approaches Jorja’s faith as a relatively new Christian. Faith is something that grows as you grow in the word and something we have all struggled with at some point or other. I think the author does a wonderful job aptly expressing this in Jorja’s life, it’s inspiring to see how the character handles and come to terms with her faith and God.

As the story closes I can’t wait to see where this cliffhanger leads and the story culminates. The author gives us a bit of tease for book 3 at the end but as I said this book was definitely worth the wait! I eagerly await spring and Wages of Sin, Book III in the Valley of Death Series!

Thank you so much Ms. Teixeira for this thrilling, inspirational story of this amazing woman’s journey!

"Fear ran away with her and when she could not longer hold it back, it erupted ina wave of tears that lodged into her throat while he spoke."

How do we face challenges that our beyond our abilities? Do we go at them alone? Or do we seek out the help that is waiting for us?

"Retired" art thief, Jorga, is challenged to go after a well-guarded painting. She is not sure that she has the skills anymore, but a life depends on it. Can she learn to rely on others who have the skills? But can she even trust them?

Europe is such a wonderful setting for novels about espionage. The places that were picked to feature added much to the enjoyment of the books. I really liked how certain behind the scenes details were included.

I think this was my favorite book in the series. Because it involved a heist, it was reminiscent of Oceans 11. I thought all the planning and preparing was fascinating.

I did like the spiritual elements of this book and this series. For a while, Jorga was hiding from her past. She was not really living. So, I liked how by confronting her past mistakes, she was able to move forward into a better future.

After reading this book, you will want to go straight toward book three. The books are definitely connected - I would highly recommend reading them in order.

Jorja Rose, as her former life comes calling.

Jorga was a superb art thief and worked with Ben, the love of her life. She gave it and Ben up in order to save his life and disappeared into a quiet life in a small town, where she learned to love God and sought repentance with his redeeming love. Hoping that she can remain hidden from those who want to use her skills for their gain.

As book 1 ends Jorga is being pulled back into that life she has come to despise, but must find a stolen painting to save Ben’s life. Deciding to put her trust in God she sets out to see if she can even find the painting. Jorja struggles with the necessary evils she must do, asking God to help her so Ben’s life can be saved.

Join this adventure with Jorga as she races against time and all odds to save Ben. With many twists and turns along the way, this story will keep you turning pages.

Now to wait for the next book to see how the story comes to its conclusion. Will God help? Or are their lessons to learn from the failures of life?

Enjoy the adventure as the mystery unfolds. I think you will really enjoy this book, I know I did!!

This book is a roller coaster of intrigue! Jorja also known as Georgina Ross has been dead to the world for two decades but something awful has pulled her out of hiding and she has an exciting story to tell us! I really enjoyed the characters in this story and I'm sure there has to be more to Pascale then what we have learned. I'm so excited for the next book because there are a lot of unanswered questions I want to know about. Ms. Texiera has given us another suspenseful book in this series, I just wish that it didn't end on a cliffhanger! Since it does I hope we get a bit of a prequel at the first of the next book because I have a hard time remembering where the previous book left off as I read so many books. Don't let the cliffhanger stop you from getting this clean Christian suspense because the story is intense and I enjoyed hanging on to every word!
I received a free download of this book from the publisher. This review is my own honest opinion.

Another outstanding read by this author - major high adventure, angst (at least on my part!) and a great description of the tortuous road some of us take in accepting God into our lives. The heroine of this series, Jorja, is continuing to try to disengage from her
former life as an international art thief. She is strong, clever, loyal to those she cares about and very new in her relationship to God which is tested in this part of her adventure. Jorja is in a high stakes last heist where if she is not successful a former partner in crime will die (and likely she as well.) There are twists in this story that I never saw coming and which leave me hungry for the next book, the last of this trilogy!!!

Jorja is a retired master art thief She faked her death along time ago. Now her past has caught up with her and her partner Ben. An extremely valuable painting by Leonardo da Vinci, a theft she was involved in has come back to haunt her. Two extremely wealthy men assisted in the heist of the painting. Jorja eluded capture but one went to prison because of her. The other lost a tremendous amount of money. If Jorja doesn't get the painting back, Ben her dear friend and former partner will die. Non stop action, suspense and in the end betrayal. An excellent read!!! My highest recommendation!! Enjoyed immensely!!

Fear is an extremely powerful and controlling emotion.
An art thief has to come to terms with her dangerous line of "work" and must now face the consequences of her actions. Although she had turned her life over to God and decided to leave that sordid past behind her, her enemies had no intention of letting her walk away. Faced with the unthinkable, she now must make life or death decisions with no time to think about consequences. A gripping thriller from start to finish! A definite must read!

This is a gripping story that keeps you hooked to the very end. It launches right into the action where the previous book left off. Jorja is an ex-art thief. She is forced to choose the death of a friend or to become a thief again. Her inner dilemma was interesting to follow as I thought about what I would do in the same circumstances. She is a likable character and I was rooting for her all the way through. I'd recommend this book because it is not only a good story, but also meets my need for a good, clean, uplifting read.

Saving Ben or Jorja

Urcelia has out done herself . Fast pace , who can Jorja trust when she not sure if she can trust herself, or God. Will she be able to save Ben physically or will someone else and will Jorja fine her faith in God? If you liked Vengeance is Mine you will double love Shadow of Fear.

Shadow of Fear

Very high level of intense quality writing. A page turner that makes you forget to breath. I think this story will grow in character, the heroine will understand God is not s genie in a bottle, that sometimes what we want is not His will. Thoroughly enjoyable, fast paced, and intriguing.

An exciting and thrilling read!!

I could hardly put it down! Some of the theatrical escapes and eminent dangers appeared a bit beyond belief, but for present day technology combined with highly skilled underworld villains, the whole story keeps a person on the edge of their seat!!

Jorga has a ticking clock to save Ben from certain death - what she has to do is steal a painting by Da Vinci that has been lost for decades. Lacking Ben to help her, what will she do? Use her wits - absolutely. Put her trust in God - without a doubt. Will she succeed? Recommended.

Jorja's predicament is, she has to be a thief once again, she's been forced into it. Something she'd rather not do but she's good at... Her next problem is who to trust and this problem persists throughout this book and sometimes you're left with no choice. You do what you have to do. This leads us through some very thought provoking and exciting moments. A lot of risk taking, turns and twists you just don't see coming.
I'm ready for book three, bring it on.
