Sloane Brady has found the love of her life. Actually, two loves of her life. And one just happens to be a Leprechaun King. But despite how wonderful things are going for her, Liam O'Shea, and Darragh Quinn, life always has its challenges - both mundane and magical. Can their commitment to one another withstand even the toughest obstacles? And can something that was once gold... become platinum.

this novella was just meh to me unfortunately :( i liked the dynamic between the characters but just. meh
i really really wish the author had just made one longer book instead of the book and the novella, one where we get to see all the characters connect and grow together instead of being told about it. its a simple but important writing skill: show, don’t tell.
i was unfortunately correct in my assumption that the novella would not make up for the lack of on-page connection in book one.
The original Green & Gold is still my favorite, but this was still very delightful. A bit more emotional than I was anticipating and the ending felt a little rushed and abrupt-but I could read about Sloane, darragh and Liam for the next 50 years and it wouldn’t be enough. The smut do be smutting, as usual.
I will say I like the fact that this was a novella and I liked being able to look into their lives as a polyamorous couple. Some of the wording and phrasing she used killed it for me though. It was worse in this book than the original book 😅 but overall it was a nice bow on the present that was the original book
I think if I read this book after Green and Gold or went back to back on the series, I would have been greatly dissatisfied.
This is more like an extended epilogue for Green and Gold, with a bit of real world angst/prejudices thrown into the mix.
The smut was great as always and I loved that we felt their relationship grow. At times though it felt more skewered towards Sloane+Darragh being main couple and Sloane+Liam being another couple rather than it being Sloane+Darragh+Liam.
I wasn't such a fan of the eventual final choice but then again in perfectly fits the brief of a human woman falling in love with a leprechaun and another human, and the leprechaun giving it all up for her/them.
Spice is still 🥵🥵🥵 in this novella, and the cuteness of our three MCs really carries the story. I couldn’t help but be disappointed in the fae MC’s explanation for leaving—why didn’t he communicate with them beforehand? And their abrupt and ill-considered decision to not have more time with their lovers… who would take that option? Honestly! There’s no downsides to being long-lived like a faerie, so why the heck?! Blah!
I absolutely loved this story! The spicy scenes were spicy and the emotional moments were felt. The author did a great job of balancing the story so it wasn't overwhelming or repetitive. I loved the original story, and this novella did a great job of building on it and tying up a few loose ends. Perfect cozy story to curl up with for a rainy St Patrick's day read!
🍀 More Liam and Dar interactions, which was very nice. It's one of the things I felt was missing in the first book
🍀 The conflict in having told their families and having to deal with the prejudice - that was the most interesting part of this story
🍀 I wasn't a fan of the , it made sense in hindsight. But in the moment it felt so out of nowhere and hadn't really been built up to. Overall, I felt it dragged stuff down a little
Book was great overall, but the ending wasn’t my favorite. Any story that end with the MC giving up their powers to live a “human life” is kind of a pet peeve of mine.
