V.T.'s new series is taking us back to our raw and gritty Omegaverse roots. Where Alphas are all powerful and take what they want. Omegas are possessions, good for one thing...an alpha's knot.
In this series opener, we are introduced to a new, and awesome I might add, dystopian water world. Don't hold it against me, but I actually loved the movie Waterworld with Kevin Costner, and this took me right back there. I realize that was my first introduction to an alphahole with a soft spot for the girl (yes, I know it was a child, but you get my drift, lol). Here we have different factions or gangs, each headed by a top alpha that lord over their territories on a floating city made of welded together tankers and ships. With resources scarce, only the strongest most vicious Alphas can stay on top.
Enter "The Tanker." The monstrous and most fearsome of them all. He gets a whiff of a ripening Omega and he has a plan. Poor Char, the very bottom of this society's totem pole. Her anxiety and fear keep mounting as her first heat approaches. Held in waiting by her area's alpha, Char knows her future only holds two options: traded and bonded to an alpha where she'll only ever be his to use and abuse, or she'll be kept in her alpha's brothel as any alpha's rut hole for a price.
Even though measures are taken to hide Char's scent and keep her away from the public's eye, there's a raid into her territory only days before her heat. She is horrified to find out not only does The Tanker know about her, but he's come for her and not leaving empty handed.
I loved this dark OV, that harkens back to the genre's roots. Where the brutal alpha is very dominant and rough, and the omega is gonna learn, whether she wants to or knot (hee hee), who is in charge. I loved the premise and intro into this water world. I could see these rusted cobbled together boat cities so vividly in mind and I am 100% on board for it. I cannot wait for the next installment, and I hope we get a glimpse of Hoss and Char.

Taken by the Tanker is a gritty Omegaverse between Alpha Hoss and his Omega Char. This story is set in a dystopian world...think Waterworld and Hoss scents Char when she is about to go into heat. Bulldozing through anyone and everything, he claims Char for his own and there is NOTHING Char can do.
Hoss is demanding, dominant and takes what he wants without reservation. He isn't soft but the world in which they live in isn't soft. Char is an Omega and is good for little except a hole...until Hoss takes her. Because these two are fated and despite their dynamics they can be so much more.
Short on plot and heavy on Omegaverse smut...I just loved this. Check your triggers because this does contain dubcon and a very clear power exchange. But I expect this in most of the Omegaverse I read and I enjoyed it so much. It was hot and when Hoss melted for his Omega...whew!
V.T. Bonds wrote a short and smutty Omegaverse that I enjoyed immensely and I wish it had been longer. I can't wait for what's next.

This was a very fun short read. I love the concept of the dystopian taken place in a “Waterworld”. How exciting and by the way I enjoyed the actual movie. If you're looking for something fast-paced to read, this is for you. Can't wait for the next installment of this world. Highly recommend!

I’m currently in my omegaverse phase, so this book immediately caught my attention. A post-apocalyptic omegaverse with a possessive alpha? Sign me up.
Because it’s a novella, everything moves very quickly, and I found myself wishing for a bit more time to really settle into the relationship. By the time we reached the HEA, it felt a little rushed, and I would’ve loved a slower build to fully enjoy the romance between the characters.
The world itself had so much potential, and I honestly would’ve loved a full-length novel set in this universe instead of such a short read. Even so, I’m definitely planning to continue with the next book in the series.

This omegaverse is short, fast paced, and spicy. The story is captivating and the world building is fantastic. Hoss is a brutal Alpha determined to make Char bend to his will. I love how quickly Char got under his skin. I love how strong she is through everything. These two are sexy together. This is a great intro to this waterwold series

Taken by the Tanker is a short read by V.T. Bonds that's a little on the weird side. It is plenty steamy if you like that but not much of a storyline. I would give it a try.

Spicy goodness with the good stuff, the knotty 😉 stuff. Omegaverse, fast paced but still had a substantial amount of plot. Kicked my reading slump with a flair. HEA and has all the good elements of an Alpha falling head over heels for his omega. 💜

I was a bit confused at the start, which could have used a little more world building. It just took a bit to get my head around everything, but once it got going, I was all there for it.
With the way Hoss acted, I wasn't sure if I'd end up liking him. He just seemed so uncaring. I loved that Char kept fighting, but knew when to hold back.
I did enjoy it, & I wanted to read more about this world & the people in it.
The writing was captivating, the concept intriguing & the spice hot. The fact that I want to know more, want to keep reading... Well, that says it all.

Taken By The Tanker was a great, VERY SPICY, short read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has strong Waterworld vibes, a possessive alpha and did I mention lots of spice???

There was almost no plot to this story. The author spends most of the time telling the reader everything instead of showing. The description of the novel does not adequately list trigger warnings. Nor does it reflect a key aspect to the story line.
In the section “Series Introduction” it states that “biology used the madness to evolve. Dynamics emerged, fracturing humanity into three subspecies: alphas, betas, and omegas.” It then describes the Omega in question as being small, just reaching puberty, her breast having come, she has pubic hair, and her waiting for her first heat where she becomes fertile. There’s no warning about that in the description. The story is set as she comes of legal age for her to be claimed by an Alpha for breeding.
I got the story as a free download and didn’t read enough of the reviews first. I won’t be reading it again, or reading anything else from this author.

Brainrot rape porn bruh. I’m so convinced the omega character in this is a kid. They keep talking about her upcoming “puberty” (maybe an omegan second puberty?) and her “budding” curves like she’s literally a pubescent 15 year old saving for her first training bra. Also that part where she’s too tiny to wrap her legs around his waist?? Is she the size of a grape? 💀 I’m confused on how big this guy is and if it’s some universe thing where the alphas are like 10 feet tall and ripped as hell or if she’s actually a child. GET ME OUT OF HERE 😭😭😭 I’m just gonna read some philosophy and pretend I didn’t lose my mind over this

Great book for when you’re in a book slump and just need something to kickstart your reading again.
Not a lot of storyline but a whole lot of spice 🥵
Quick, enjoyable read, the dystopian world was described so well that I could have definitely read a longer version to find out more about their world.

The world could have been so interesting.
I was really disappointed in this one. Everything was super rushed and the characters were incredibly shallow and unrealistic. "light on plot, heavy on spice" is a good tag for this one. The plot is basically ignored.

This was a very short but very steamy omegaverse romance with a return to what alphas should be like 😍 Yes this book has dub con in it but the author handles it in the right way.
Alpha Hoss is big and dangerous and rules his territory with pure dominance. He raids another alpha's territory and scents Char an omega who is kept caged in the back of a shop waiting for her first heat to happen so that the alpha can use her against her wishes. She has been stuck in her cage for years and is not treated well by her jailers, suffering emotional abuse from the females and physical abuse and unwanted touching from the males. She hears Hoss coming towards her after killing her jailers and she tries to escape through a porthole in the ship but he catches her and drags her back into the room.
Char stars freaking out as he brings her deeper into the bottom of the tanker and into the darkness that is his territory. Hoss is not used to being anything but rough and ruthless and he doesn't seem to really understand the feelings that she evokes in him. He really seems to like leading her around by her hair but he doesn't hurt her, he just reminds her who is in control. When he gets them back to his private rooms, he dumps her into a bath and then proceeds to wash her and tries to be kind to her but his bathing technique needs a little work as he continuously dunks her under the water and seems to forget that she might need regular air to survive!
He feeds her and gives her water and touches her, leading into some smexy scenes to get her heat into full swing so that she is ready for him. He takes what he wants from Char but he also cares for her, pampers her, and does what is truly best for her even if she fights him at first out of fear. Hoss really does control his alpha urges and refuses to hurt her or mate her fully before she is ready. Their intimate scenes are super spicy 🥵 he is an alpha so of course he is rough, dominating, and demanding but he never hurts her and cares deeply about her pleasure, safety and happiness.
The cutest scene is when her heat starts fully and he proudly goes to the cupboard and pulls out all the blankets and gives them to her as an offering. He is expecting her to be pleased by his gift and grateful and is hurt when she does not initially start building her nest but he masks his hurt by getting all alpha growly and angry but she can't build her nest because they don't smell like him, Awh 😍 Hoss fixes that by rubbing the material all over himself and handing them back to her. It melts my heart that these big, dangerous alphas go to so much effort to forage however they need to in order to provide their mates with nesting materials and then wait patiently while it is completed and they are invited in ❤️
After a few days of very spicy activity and multiple claiming bites, their bond is securely in place and her heat breaks. Hoss takes her out of their nest to show her his surprise for her and it is a full size greenhouse of her own for her to continue growing plants, which is an activity that she loves. When she expresses her worry about killing the plants he tells her that just like the baby she is currently growing, she will help the plants flourish as well. Char is shocked when he tells her that she is pregnant with their first baby but he can scent the change in her hormones and they are both so happy.
Hoss was everything that an alpha should be and Char realizes that and how lucky she is to have him; you can feel how in love they are by the end. I wish there was an epilogue so we could see their family grow in the end.
I definitely recommend this spicy little novella and will be reading it again multiple times and cannot wait to read the other stories in the series ❤️

He really seems to like leading her around by her hair but he doesn't hurt her, he just reminds her who is in control. When he gets them back to his private rooms, he dumps her into a bath and then proceeds to wash her and tries to be kind to her but his bathing technique needs a little work as he continuously dunks her under the water and seems to forget that she might need regular air to survive!
He feeds her and gives her water and touches her, leading into some smexy scenes to get her heat into full swing so that she is ready for him. He takes what he wants from Char but he also cares for her, pampers her, and does what is truly best for her even if she fights him at first out of fear. Hoss really does control his alpha urges and refuses to hurt her or mate her fully before she is ready. Their intimate scenes are super spicy 🥵 he is an alpha so of course he is rough, dominating, and demanding but he never hurts her and cares deeply about her pleasure, safety and happiness.
The cutest scene is when her heat starts fully and he proudly goes to the cupboard and pulls out all the blankets and gives them to her as an offering. He is expecting her to be pleased by his gift and grateful and is hurt when she does not initially start building her nest but he masks his hurt by getting all alpha growly and angry but she can't build her nest because they don't smell like him, Awh 😍 Hoss fixes that by rubbing the material all over himself and handing them back to her. It melts my heart that these big, dangerous alphas go to so much effort to forage however they need to in order to provide their mates with nesting materials and then wait patiently while it is completed and they are invited in ❤️
After a few days of very spicy activity and multiple claiming bites, their bond is securely in place and her heat breaks. Hoss takes her out of their nest to show her his surprise for her and it is a full size greenhouse of her own for her to continue growing plants, which is an activity that she loves. When she expresses her worry about killing the plants he tells her that just like the baby she is currently growing, she will help the plants flourish as well. Char is shocked when he tells her that she is pregnant with their first baby but he can scent the change in her hormones and they are both so happy.
Hoss was everything that an alpha should be and Char realizes that and how lucky she is to have him; you can feel how in love they are by the end. I wish there was an epilogue so we could see their family grow in the end.
I definitely recommend this spicy little novella and will be reading it again multiple times and cannot wait to read the other stories in the series ❤️

overall i liked the story but i had a big problem with the entire interaction with this young virgin omega being forced without her consent against her will. Char lives in a dystopian water world in poverty and is coming into her first heat. Hoss is an tough, alpha tanker boss who rules the below decks of a tanker and finds Char up near the top decks locked away and takes her forcefully for his own to his chambers. There he starts subjecting her to his care and his sexual touch preparing her for her heat when he will claim her for his own. He does not care that she is afraid and unwilling and forcefully makes her submit regardless of her being afraid and crying, young and very small. esp with a lot of gripping her throat and pulling her hair. he shows no care for her inexperience or does anything to try to calm her fears. Its a violent tough world and he has to be vicious in order to be top dog. when she goes into heat she does basically consent because she knows she has no choice plus her body is demanding fulfillment so physically she is forced by her omega nature to give in regardless of what her mind wants. Hoss has no intention of feeling anything but ownership of his claimed omega to breed offspring but as he interacts with her as she comes into her heat things change esp once they claim each other and he feels things he never expected nor wanted and truly comes to care for her which is really his only redeeming quality. otherwise he is a huge overpowering brute who does not take anything regarding her feelings into consideration and doesn't care he is forcing himself upon a young frightened barely adult girl. I would have liked to have seen more evolvement in Hoss from a forceful near rapist to someone who softened a bit as he prepared his omega for claiming and saw the abuse she had suffered and her fear and had become a bit more vulnerable with her and able to be less forceful and more sensitive showing that underneath his harsh exterior he could be a decent man with a softer side for his woman alone while still be the tough top dog. Definitely dark and gritty.

If you're drawn to the darker, grittier corners of the Omegaverse, V.T. Bonds’s Waterworld will plunge you straight into the deep end. Think Kevin Costner’s Waterworld, but strip away all traces of Hollywood polish and toss in a whole lot more heat and brutality. This is a savage, survivalist dystopia where sentimentality has been choked out by sheer necessity and Alphas rule with raw, unapologetic dominance. This Waterworld is all primal instincts and power plays with macho Alphas and vulnerable Omegas reduced to their most basic biological function. The novella’s brevity leaves no room for fluff—just the bare-bones framework of a world built on control, need, and submission. The Tanker's intentions toward Char are clear and unromantic from the start, and while there's a subtle attempt to soften things near the end, make no mistake: Hoss is the definition of a dominant alphahole. Consent is murky here (dubcon warning), and that tension is very much part of the story’s dynamic. One lingering question: if all Omegas are supposedly barren, why was Hoss so obsessed with breeding Char? As for the spice—yes, it’s there and yes, it’s intense—but surprisingly, there’s less of it than you might expect given the Light on plot, heavy on spice” promise. Hoss seemed almost more concerned with cleaning and feeding Char than ravishing her, which felt slightly at odds with the raw tone of the setup. Still, for fans of dystopian, high-stakes Omegaverse tales with edge and attitude, Taken by the Tanker delivers a stripped-down, savage punch.

This was, as described, a short dark but steamy read. Char is an omega who is on the verge of her first heat. Hoss is an alpha who has come to claim his omega. Even if he has to do it by force. I, along with many others who have read this story, wish it was longer! But I enjoyed it for what it was. A post-apocalypse waterworld (yes, like that Waterworld) but with omegaverse dynamics. The series introduction at the beginning explains how the world came to be this way, including the horrid plight of being omega and the oncoming doom of all humanity with the omegas not breeding and plants not growing. This idea, that the treatment of omegas by those who are supposed to protect and cherish them has kept them from being fertile, is a really interesting concept. Hoss is violent and very alpha-aggressive. But he shows how much he is going to care for his omega very early on. Well, after violently taking her. And while Char tries to fight her omega instincts, she inevitably loses that battle. Their HEA is decidedly steamy! This was my first read by V.T. Bonds, but won’t be my last.

This book ended up being a lot darker than I had anticipated, and while it wasn't my particular cup of tea I did enjoy many aspects of it.
Firstly the world building was great. It felt like a mix of Waterworld and Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet with an omegaverse twist. I loved the way the world and scenery were described.
When we first meet Char she's living a miserable existence, hidden and locked away. It's not made entirely clear if she's being held for someone against her will or for her safety because she's an omega.
Enter Hoss. He's an alpha who has a monstrous reputation for being ruthless, unyielding, and brutal. His name is enough to intimidate most. He murders everyone in the shop that contains the cage Char calls home, and breaks her cage open. After a valiant attempt at escape, Hoss makes off with Char and heads below into the depths of the structure.
Char is NOT happy, but she realizes that she really doesn't have much choice. She can fight and likely be abused, maybe even killed, or she can comply and hope the only wounds she bears aren't physical. Hoss doesn't seem to care either way, he's going to do what he wants regardless of her protests.
Char realizes that if she goes along with his instructions he's actually trying to improve her quality of life despite his lack of kindness.
This is for sure gritty and dark. There's a lot non-con going on so if that's a sensitive subject for you, maybe pass on this one.

DAMN!!! That was HOT!!!! It was dark, depraved, gritty, exciting and utterly smutty. Exactly what you want in a dystopian Omegaverse story. And I could not get enough of it.
The world building was unique and the imagery was very creative and literally brought this gritty waterworld to life right before my eyes.
Hoss is quite the large, aggressive, domineering and possessive Alpha and when he gets one little sniff of Omega Char, he instantly has to have her no matter what. Char, the feisty little Omega, tries to hide her scent but once Hoss has a hold of her there is no turning back!
"This alpha hasn’t torn my body to shreds, but he’s turned it against me. The dichotomy of his authority and care has awakened the very core of my omega self, ripping apart every inch of my defenses."
I loved this story. It may have been short, but it was action packed, intense, emotional and so freaking hot that I am pretty sure my panties literally exploded!!!
"I thought I’d take her. Own her. Hold her heart and soul in my palm. And I have. She’s mine. But in return, she snuck through my defenses and wrecked me for anyone else. She owns me too. Body, heart, mind—every ounce of me belongs to her."

The writing was excellent and flowed so well. There was dual point of view which I always enjoy as you get the other person's side and thoughts. I find it also brought more to the story and your understanding of their connection.
This was the first book of V.T. Bonds that I've read, but it will not be the last!!
