I have read many books about St. Francis of Assisi, as I am a Secular Franciscan. This author was new to me, and I am so glad to have discovered her. Her writing is absolutely wonderful, her research was very good, and there was something new I could take away from another book on il Poverello. Her description of St. Francis receiving the stigmata was especially touching for me. This is one I will be recommending. I also will be looking for more books by this author.
