I think it has potential but this felt more like the summary of the book rather than a full length book. Everything goes by so so fast. It doesn't even make sense.
Like yes it's original that he likes to collect ducks but that's about the only thing we know about main character 1. The only thing we know about character 2 is that he has a shitty job.
That's it.
Now, the world building is flawed as well. In what world are we ?! Main character 1 was surprised that 2 knew about shifters. But alpha beta and omegas exist as humans ?! I just feel like we need more context.
Then character 1 tells 2 that he's a dragon shifter. He proceeds to shape shift into said dragon. In front of 2 who didn't even know dragons existed. But 2 was only awed and amazed...
Yeah that's not realistic at all . I have other examples but I think I wrote enough. This is not insta love, it's an insta book.

A boring dragon shifter story. Who'd have thought? But I should have known - the ladies behind the Lorelei M. Hart team have such an enormous output that it's rarely more than short popcorn stories, but this sounded so fun! Oh well.

This one moved way too fast for me. Even for mates, it felt instant with no build up or anything. The writing is good, the characters are sweet, and the idea of a dragon having ducks as a horde was funny...if a little bit overused throughout the book.

'Other dragons hoarded jewels. Precious metals. Rare and priceless art. But my dragon and I loved ducks. Rubber ducks, paintings of ducks, porcelain ducks. We wanted them all. And we had a whole bunch of them.'
Alabrio's first paragraph, and I loved him from that moment afterward! And it's absolutely true. I've read about hoards of gold, gems, jewelry, modern-day stocks and investments. Maybe shiny things in general. Hoarding all things duck-themed was new. And endearing. And I loved that his dragon is just as enamored- flying over ponds to see them. Be still my heart! But it's not exactly a manly- and certainly not alpha-y- hobby that would impress many. But you like what you like and just have to be yourself. I loved that his grandmother supported his hobby, while others ignored it.
Winston was fed up with his job and trying to find something else. When he came to Alabrio's house to fix his internet, he took notice of some of his ducks and remarked that he, too, had a lot of ducks that his grandmother collected. Fate! I love how they began to connect and Winston explained the significance of ducks and memories of his grandmother.

This was short, sweet, and filled with ducks. Dragons have all kinds of hoards but I've never read about a duck hoard before. Alabrio (Al) was always looked at funny for his hoard by other dragons but his grandmother loved it and helped it grow. I loved that Al's dragon had an obsession with wanting to see live ducks playing in the water, even though he knew he could be scary to them once shifted. So cute, seriously. What luck (fate) that the cable tech that came to fix his internet, also has a collection and appreciation of ducks. Winston and his fellow employees have a crappy boss that is overworking them to exhaustion. He wants to quit daily but it's hard to find a new job in that area. Little did he know that his life was about to change with the next service call. They have a strong pull to each other and this is instalove/lust, because Al's dragon knows they're mates but Winston doesn't understand the pull and just goes with it.
There are some time jumps, which is to be expected with a novella, but you can definitely tell that there are some gaps that would've rounded the story out.

I read anything that Hart publishes without even reading the blurb, or maybe with little more than a brief glance of the blurb. I love the escape of an easy to read, sweet romance between teddy bear-like alphas and feisty omegas that know how to tame their mates.

January 26, 2024This is book 1 in the multi-author Love Sync Mates series. Each book is a standalone. I loved the premise and the book didn't disappoint. This is the story of Alabrio (Al) and Winston. Al is an alpha dragon and like all dragons he has a hoard. Unfortunately it is not your typical hoard. Al collects ducks! While his grandmother understands and supports him; his parents can not relate to him at all. When Al loses his internet and is unable to work, he forcefully demands that someone come out today or he will cancel his contract. Winston is working IT repair and is sent to Al's house. He is overworked and frustrated by his boss. If he didn't desperately need the job, he would quit. He is a nice omega and tries to help as much as he can. When the two meet, it is obvious that they are both interested in each other. But when they bond over ducks, their fate is sealed. This is their story. I really enjoyed it. It is a fun story that will make you smile.

No one in his family understands this other than Gram. She is the only one that does not wonder why he doesn't like traditional precious metals and valuable things. Winston is a human omega that is way overworked by his demanding boss and has a duck hoard of his own that came from his Gram. When Winston is sent on an emergency call to repair the internet for Al, there is more than an internet connection. It is sweet and loving and results in a more valuable hoard than either had ever thought about, meggs! Get this first in a new series to witness the love of all things ducky.

Seriously... what did I just read?
The pace of this is really fast even by shifter/OAB/mpreg standards... If you're looking for a quick read that really only scratches the surface of the story, then give this a go.
Nothing really was taken seriously by either MC... and even when things should have elicited more of a reaction or emotion... they didnt? Like Win is surprised but it's "normal when I really think about it"
Is it?! IS IT?! It just felt like every nugget of plot that could have turned into either more bulk for the story or world building was just like "there it is... anyway moving on"
If you're into Dragon/Omega stories that are still easy reads but have a bit more world, plot, and character development, I highly recommend the Dragon Fate Games by Hawke Oakley

Just a dragon and his duck hoard!!!
What a cute new multi-authored series called Love Sync Mates. This book by Lorelei M Hart is listed as book 1 in the series. When I saw it pop up on Booksprout I hopped on the chance to read/review. I love this writing duo and when I saw it was a brand new series I just had to have it.
What a fun ride... I mean who doesn't love ducks unless they're alive and swarming you then they're not so much fun.

I loved His Ducking Alpha Dragon: Book 1 of Love Sync Mates. Albabrio was happy with his quiet life and his hoard of ducks. His life takes a turn when he meets Winston, there to fix his internet. Winston is tired of his job and really needs a change. Meeting Albario was life changing. He knew it wasn’t right to want to see the client again but he’s drawn to this Alpha Deagon and he already knows about shifters which is amazing for Alabrio. This is a sweet story and I loved the characters. It has a great ending and I would definitely recommend this book. I can’t wait for more in the series.

Alabrio hoarded ducks his family thought it was a joke as hoards go, went to video chat his grandmother and the internet went out again. Called the company and threatened to cancel his service so Winston was told to fix the internet before he could go home. Winston saw Alabrio’s collection then told him that his grandmother had collected ducks too was given some when she died. Had to leave for the part that was needed, after a couple of dates showed Winston his dragon then took Winston on a flight. Good book!.

Looking like this is going to be another sweet and fun series from Lorelei. I like the fact that I can pick up any book from them and know I am going to get a well written shifter story with a difference! The characters are great especially Alabrio an alpha dragon who has an unusual hoard featuring ducks in any form! No one in this family understands and then he meets Winston, a human omega who comes to mend his internet to find he has his own duck collection which they connect over as well as the fact they are fated mates. Looking forward to the next in series.

I loved this book! Alabrio and his duck collection will bring him together with Winston, his human mate. The two will meet when Alabrio’s internet service is down and Winston comes to fix it. They will bond over grandmothers and ducks and I love how both are special to the both of them. Alabrio’s grandmother is an absolute hoot and the reason he collects his ducks and she helps to make this wonderful and sweet story an absolute must read!.

They go on dates and eventually Alabrio shows Winston his beast and its love at first sight. They build a life together and Winston lay three eggs with two girls and a boy baby dragons. And they go onto live happily ever after.

Loved!!
Oh my gosh this was so cute! I loved that Alabrio's (what a unique name) hoard is anything that has to do with ducks. I also loved his relationship with his grandmother. Winston is a saint for putting up with his horrible job but luckily it led him to Alabrio. These two couldn't be sweeter even if they tried. This was a fun, quick read with great characters and a fast paced plot. I love Lorelei M. Hart's books and am looking forward to the rest of this multi author series.

Great beginning to a multi-author series. An introvert dragon and the cable repair guy - flirt fest and are absolutely adorable mates.
Winston is miserable and overworked. Alabrio is an alpha dragon that prefers to avoid people and having issues with finding a mate. When Al's cable goes out, it is Winston who answers the call.

it’s ok
I hate doing anything less than five and I’m all for a instant love but this was crazy and nothing was explain on how an omega could be a human and in a world that not everyone knows about shifters. How did he even know he was an omega? Then he just asked to be his mate with no contexts of telling him he was his faded mate. Idk the magic system seems super off to me. And a lot of questions

Had potential.
Most of the book is about Winston's horrible job as a cable man. I don't know why the author chose for that to be one of the main focusing points; like we get it, being a cable guy for his company sucks. The author wrote decent internal dialogue, but the conversations between main characters struggled big time. Overall the plot had potential but the book was choppy and not at all engrossing.

Fantastic start to the series!
Al was an alpha dragon with a unique hoard. He was far from a typical dragon which is something I really liked.
Winston and Al were cute together. Their little family at the end was adorable.

I knew I rarely rated Lorelei M. Hart's novels more than three stars, but who knew there would be a time when I would truly enjoy reading Lorelei M. Hart's story? But not this time. This book is filled with narrations and inner monologues, just like Lorelei M. Hart's previous novels I've read in the past.

The title did it and I'm so glad I read this delightful romance. Winston and Al's story was so wild and sweet you can't help but enjoy it. The ducks...well that was an added bonus to the romance. If you love fated mates, dragons and nesting, you will enjoy this sweet romance.

This was a very sweet and silly story. Winston what's the internet cable repairman and miserable at his job. He was overworked underappreciated. Alabrio aka AL is an introvert Dragon shifter who didn't have much hope of finding a maid. Who would have guessed loss of Internet would have brought him his mate.

Cute but very short and skippy
The characters are sweet, funny, and we barely meet them before they're fast forwarding to the end. We know more about Winston's horrible job than we see of their life as a couple. There are huge time skips, days, weeks, and I'm not sure how long the gravid stage lasts but it's over in a chapter.

Good until 50%
The book was fine until about 50%. Then the pacing and segways all went to crap. They had brunch then went for a hike and suddenly it was dark enough to fly. This whole day read as like an hour. It was jarring. Then after that the rest read as if the arthur just wrote a paragraph for each bullet point in the outline. It didnt flow or connect.

Im not exactly sure what I read but 90% of it made little to no sense. I was more confused than anything reading this. There was a lot neither character knew, so I guess that was the author's way of trying to get around actually developing the world and rules the characters are in. Definitely not the author for me. 2 stars because dtagon but even that is a stretch.
