Five hundred years after the apocalypse, the world is a vastly different place. Eden, a warrior, has been chosen to explore the surface. She discovers a world abundant in life, clean air, and fresh water. And a man. Winston has never seen a woman like her before. She’s very beautiful, small, deadly, and his. Eden doesn’t know what this man wants, nor does she plan to find out. When his attention is diverted, she sneaks away. When she steps out of the forest, she finds herself surrounded by the queen’s deadly guards. The queen wants to take everything from Eden, including Winston. And she will stop at nothing to get what she wants. In a desperate attempt to find his little warrior, Winston tracks her back to the underground passage. But instead of finding his love, he comes face to face with the deadliest warrior in her clan. Her father.
Mary (M.L.) Cook is retired, with hours and hours to write. She was born and raised in Indiana. Although she’s lived in several other states, her heart lies in the Hoosier state. Worlds come alive. Characters stand over her shoulder. Sometimes they wake her at night. All of them want to have their stories written. No matter how she thinks the story should go, it goes according to how the character decides it should. They all write their own stories.
Sometimes you can find Mary wandering the magical lands of Azeroth. If you happen to find someone who goes by Didntdream, say hello. Or perhaps it will be one of those days when she’s casting spells with her Orc, Loktoria. Either way, make her day and give her a shoutout.
Five hundred years after an apocalypse caused by a dying Earth has passed the survivors now living underground send warrior Eden to the surface to reconnoiter a possible return to above ground life. What she finds proves to be life affirming as well as deadly. Eden is a strong female character which I always enjoy reading about, and I was more impressed with this full version of the new Earth Warrior series than its prequel. Having enjoyed the author’s Felidian Warriors series I was looking forward to immersing myself in this new post apocalyptic one with its dystopian theme, romance, and adventure which I’m happy to say did not disappoint.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Great start to a new series. Life after an apocalypse could be challenging, but love will always find a way... I’ve read and enjoyed M.L. Cook’s Felidian Warriors Series and was looking forward to this book. I wasn’t disappointed. I love strong female characters, and the author’s ability to create an exciting story is superb. If you like dystopian romance, I definitely recommend this fast-paced, action-filled book! Can’t wait for book 2.
This is the second book I've read written by M.L. Cook; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story is about Eden & Winston; she’s been sent to explore the world after the apocalypse and runs into him. While he’s distracted she sneaks away but he goes looking for her.
