Drew Me From the Start
I never know what to expect when I read a new author, but I always hope for a great story. And that's exactly what I got. It was a great story that drew me in from the start and did not let me go.
The minute I got to know Brent and how much he struggled with his loss, my heart went out to him. Then, when Zoe entered the picture, I knew I'd be on an emotional journey. Both Brent and Zoe need healing, and the Santa letters, Holly, Miles, and even Prince's role in helping the process along were just wonderful.
The result is a sweet and endearing read that is sure to be enjoyed not just at Christmas but any time of the year.

This is such a sweet reminder that God answers prayers when he knows it’s time. Brent Carson no longer has any holiday spirit after a tragedy 6 years ago. When a precious gift is left on his porch, he knows it was met for Zoe who owns an orphanage with her best friend. Already being a foster mom to little Miles. Brent knows Zoe will help because she is always in his space wanting to help even if he doesn’t want her help. The hurt he holds prevents him from moving forward , causing bitterness towards life and God until he accepts the bargain Zoe offers. When a simple tradition opens his heart and opens his mind with each Santa letter that he opens. This book of second chances, letting go and reaching out will warm your heart and get you in the Christmas spirit even if it isn’t Christmas time

I don’t typically enjoy the mystery baby genre, but author April Arrington did a really good job of writing this one. Who can resist baby Holly at Christmas? And little Miles was a joy to read about.
Brent is hurting really bad after a loss. And Zoe really wants to help him. Well-developed characters on a journey; I’d love to have a cup of hot chocolate with them. I really enjoyed the Dear Santa letters that brought them together and helped both to heal.
Many emotions and all the Christmas fun make this a wonderful holiday read. I highly recommend it!

This was an awesome read. Yeah, it isn't Christmas yet, but it is an amazing Christmas story. Just make sure you have some tissues handy if you read it. Lots of emotion, especially when they read the letters to Santa.
Loved the main characters...Brent, Zoe, Miles, and baby Holly. This is the ideal Christmas story.

Right away, I was drawn into Brent’s grief and struggle to enjoy the holidays. Zoe was a great personality to drawn him out of his shell. Add children, a dog, plus the magic of Santa, and this was a great snack of sweet romance. I especially liked that there were moments that made me pause emotionally.

April Arrington writes a sweet story. Brent Carson is a sour widower that lost his wife and baby several years ago. A baby mistakenly gets left at his cabin and he calls his neighbor, foster mom Zoe Price. Zoe agrees to help him provided he helps with the Santa letters. Soon Brent’s attitude starts changing.
