I’m never disappointed with any books that I’ve read by Emma Miller. Like the Title reads this book is a story about a forbidden romance. It takes place around Thanksgiving and Christmas time . It’s about strong family ties and compassionate hearts for those less fortunate. It’s romantic, entertaining, inspirational and uplifting. I was drawn into the book completely. The ending was beautiful and bought me to tears. It was a joy to read this heartwarming holiday romance .
A stranger with a little girl arrives in Honeycomb. He needs a job so he can support himself and his young daughter. Willa Koffman’s brother in law puts him to work on his construction team that is busy building an add on to the Koffman General Store. Eventually English man Aaron Raber ends up working in the store with the inventory and he and Willa spend a lot of time together. Willa is from the old order Amish community . The two are attracted to each other and secretly have a relationship. Because of Willa’s religion this relationship is forbidden and can go no further than it already has. What will her family say when they learn about their relationship? A little girl is involved and has grown to love Willa. Only hurt can come from a situation like this .
I strongly recommend this book to readers of Amish romance and Christian Fiction . If you enjoy Love Inspired books you will love this book. Her Forbidden Christmas Match is book Five of the Seven Amish Sisters Series but I read it as a standalone.
I purchased my own copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions shared here in this review are solely my own.

This story was the sweetest! Willa is getting up in age (by Amish terms) and still isn't married. Her older sister is pushing her towards a matchmaker to help her , but she has decided she is not interested. Marriage just never appealed to her. She had courted a lot, but it was always missing something. She just wasn't sure what. But then here comes Aaron... he's running from a harsh religious community and struggling to find his place physically, emotionally and spiritually. He's still grappling with the death of his wife and a religious community that was threatening to take his daughter Maggie away. He moves near Willas Amish community to work, but he has no interest in religion, church etc. That is until he meets Willa. In the beginning they are opposites that are constantly bumping heads, but it becomes clear to them both that they are only fighting because they are fighting off attraction for each other. Even if they wanted to consider a relationship... it's forbidden. So they try to stay clear, but can they? As feelings grow, but they keep hitting more and more pushing against their relationship they both realize they may have to just back away. If Willa can't have love with Aaron, then maybe she will just consider a convenient marriage with whoever she's matched with. But is that the right choice? What would you risk for love?

I gave it a 4 because I think I wanted maybe a more drawn-out ending... more time to savor that HEA, and it sort of happened faster than I would have liked. But all in all, I loved it all the same.

I loved this story. I read it all in one sitting. I can not wait for Eleanor's story. I halfway wonder if Jon (the man she's always helping) will be her love interest... but that's just my guess. She could also get Sara to match her with someone... so we will see?!

Better than that other Emma Miller book - Unconventional Amish Pair - but still par for the course. I have to say that the most vivid depictions were once again of food! That being said, it’s not the worst book I’ve ever read. At least now I’ve completed the Christmas book for next month’s book club.

Widower Aaron Raber and his young daughter, Maggie have had a very bad experience with their family and Mennonite community after the death of his wife. Looking to start a new life Aaron and Maggie move to an Amish community where he meets Willa Koffman. Willa has given up on finding a husband after “walking out” with many of the singles in her community. Willa has an instant love for Maggie but Aaron is a different matter or is he. Can Aaron love again or will Willa just be a distraction for him?

A Very well written story of second chances.

Unevenly yoked

Will's impetuous nature allows her some leeway, but falling in love with a widower who needs to be led back to God goes beyond her family's possibilities. But Ellie sees true love in the man they've all come to care for. But the biggest surprise is who the matchmaker brings to the Christmas brunch.

This was a different Amish book than I’ve read before. I enjoyed the story and the differences than my typical Amish read.

After the death of his wife in Paraguay, Aaron has returned to Delaware with his daughter. He is running from grief and a church he doesn’t agree with regarding their beliefs. He is unsure of where he should settle and what he should do for work. He is sure that he never wants to live again or belong to a church that dictates his life.

Willa is a headstrong and impulsive Amish woman. Willa watches Aaron leave his daughter in the car as he starts a new job helping with the addition on the store. An infuriated Willa marches right outside to her future.

Can Willa and Aaron find common ground to make a life together?

This is the fifth book in a series. I didn’t realize that until I looked into the author. I had no trouble following along with the characters. I am interested in reading the series.

Sweet story, an easy and comfortable read. I've not yet read others in the series, but I enjoyed the family dynamics and hope to read more about the sisters. One of the themes, that of an Amish matchmaker, was especially interesting. As was Aaron's heartbreaking background and church experience.

Sweet book!

Even though this is a love story, it has a very real story to it. Great and believable story. Can love conquer all?

When Aaron Raber moves into town with his five-year-old daughter, Maggie, Willa Koffmann couldn’t help but notice. Mostly because Aaron was parked behind her family store and about to work with the construction team on the expansion. And he was going to leave his daughter in the cold car while he worked. Willa certainly had something to say about that.

This book is so good, there are some very surprising plot lines that are not your typical Amish read which make it intriguing. I was really drawn in by Aaron and his reluctance to be away from his daughter for even a minute. And Maggie was such a well-adjusted child despite her unconventional upbringing (sorry, can’t say – spoiler). Willa was not afraid to speak her mind and had a bold but soft heart.

I connect with characters who question God or organized religion. It just feels authentic. So, of course, Aaron captured my attention. Willa’s impulsive nature was also endearing. And, of course, with that comes being stubborn and not always wanting to admit when she is wrong. Which got her in a jam.

Overall, this was an absolutely wonderful read. From Willa and Aaron’s first encounter, right up to the end, you’ll be hooked. This is a great quick read for when you want that holiday feeling any time of the year.
