This Happy Home by Cam Scholey is the story of a young boy growing up in a dysfunctional home. There is fear, abandonment, isolation and child abuse spoken of in a honest, open manner from the heart of a young boy's point of view.
Such a masterful book that can be hard to read but well worth reading. Its elegant way of opening your heart to the versatility of the young to adapt to difficult circumstances.
Cam tells the way family can perpetuate trauma from one generation to the next but how the cycle can change with knowledge and hope.
