Greed's Siren

Rate this book
The age-old story of hating my job was nothing new.
Many lived it. Many had experienced it.
So going into work that day just felt like any other dreaded day at the office.
That was until there was him.
A thief who stole more than gold that night.
A thief who stole my heart.
But I was about to learn how risky that truly was. Because Ryker Wyeth wasn’t just any thief.
He was dangerous one.
And now, after the chaos he unknowingly released upon my life that night, I was left with only one option…
To run.
To run from my crimes. To run from the lasting memory of his kiss.
However, there was one problem with that plan. Ryker Wyeth was Greedy for more.
And for this dangerous thief in the night…
He always got what he wanted.
And what he wanted now, was me.
Which meant not only running from the law, but now I was also running from…

A Demon’s Greed.

Good enough, but...

An okay story with power and wealth which, let's face it, are always attractive. Unusually, though, I find I don't much like the hero who, for all his prowess at everything else, is downright stupid at handling the heroine. And she is as irritating and weepy as all those preceding her in other stories. I felt that if she ran away just once more I would wreck my bedroom like Ryker.

As usual, Stephanie gets carried away with too much narrative and overlong descriptive passages, and the action suffers as a result. Did she plan to fill the whole book with not a lot so that readers are left frustrated at the end? I always object to being coerced into buying the sequel to anything, if it feels like it was the author's intention.

The jury's out whether I will be bothered to look for the next episode.

Exciting!

I loved this book, went so quickly like all of Stephanie's books and a little frustrating that I have to wait for the conclusion but I know I will enjoy it! As usual a dark, exciting supernatural romance with a link to the Afterlife world but a stand alone story.

eek really sad to say not great

Really sad to write this review as Stephanie is one of my favourite authors. I absolutely adore the Afterlife, Transfusion and Hellbeast series’. This unfortunately really wasn’t great 😟. Firstly there is far too much inner monologue, I really struggled to get through the first chapter and only did due to how much of a fan I am of Mrs Hudson, again sadly it didn’t improve through the book. My second issue was how slow the storyline was, it really didn’t progress at all. At the beginning of the book I thought it held potential and was looking forward to finding out more about the MFC’s past and the artifact. The story just seemed to go round in circles and seemed almost like a copy of other main characters in some of her other books. The MFC constantly ran. ( This was quite tedious). The MMC constantly said “stop running “. This was all that happened in this book, nothing more, about 200 pages of it - including the endless monologues 😥 with maybe 50 pages of storyline. I really do hate to leave a bad review for Stephanie but hope it may be seen as constructive criticism as her other series’ are golden. I will still try the next in this series hoping it will move along faster. Please don’t be put off this author because most of her work is outstanding. This unfortunately missed the mark quite drastically 😩.

I enjoy Stephanie Hudson's writing. This series is no different. The characters are engaging and everything is somehow connected to her other series. This series usually has 2 books...a Siren and an Enforcer. The first lays the groundwork, so it can sometimes be a bit slower to see what is happening. This one is full of information , but, I felt, all necessary.
I was a bit frustrated with Evie...why all the running? Why must they always run? Once, sure. Twice, maybe. But not on and on. That gets tedious and way past wanting to just knock her upside the head. So I agree with some reader on that point.
I will say that I did not notice all these grammatical errors some reviewers are talking about. I even went back to specifically look for them and did not find them in my copy. Maybe they had an earlier edit? I don't know. But my copy flowed smoothly.
My only other comment would be...where was Draven? The previous books in the series had a appearance by him.
Awaiting "Evelyn's Enforcer" !

In the Sirens series, always two books belong together, each telling the story of a Siren-Enforcer-couple. While there is a backstory that spans over all books, it can be skipped. It's also not necessary to read the Afterlife series beforehand.

#5 Greed’s Siren and #6 Evelyn’s Enforcer tells Rhyker Wyeth and Evie Parker`s story. It's written in dual POV, which works well here. In addition to Kaiden and Emme's story (#3+#4), Stephanie Hudson has created another siren-enforcer-couple whose story I really liked. - Evelyn, the 'Girl-Scout' is refreshingly recourseful when it comes to... `escaping` her enforcer. She pushes Rhyer's patience to its limits. lol
In addition to the many funny moments, there are of course also some serious, dark moments that ultimately force Evelyn to make a very difficult decision.

- I have to admit, I like these dominant, growling demon enforcers that Stephanie Hudson has created and I´m hoping, that there will be more books in this series

When she’s more precious than gold!

When in a book slump, revert to a favourite author’s new release! And as expected, I was not disappointed!

There’s demons, secrets, high heels, safe cracking, action, stalking, more running, passionate kisses, “dreams”, fated mates, best friend banter and a sirens call!

Oh, how I love a Stephanie Hudson book and this Series is just so good. It’s a slow burn with a cliffhanger but it is a duet.

Ryker is big, brooding, tattooed and growly! He’s an enforcer to Dominic Draven (read the Aftrlife Saga 👍) and the son of Hells 4th president, hence the title. He’s a greedy boy and when he catches the scent of his chosen one, nothing will stop him, including Evie’s incessant need to run (despite also feeling the pull)! Please, if you like a paranormal fantasy romance definitely look up this author!!

Ups and down, highs and lows

It seems like I waited forever for this book. It was well worth the wait. I fell in love with Greed and Evie.
Evie is probably one of the strongest heroines I've read about. She is very resourceful. She definitely keeps Greed on his toes. He gets so frustrated having to keep chasing her. There's so much more I want to say but I hate spoilers. I will say they are the perfect couple. If you have not started this series it is a must read. If you just stumbled across this book I will say you need to start at the very beginning. Start with Afterlife, that is the first book in one of the best series I have ever read. I really hope it is not very long before Evelyn's Enforcer comes out.

A wild chase for Lord Greed

This is book five of the series Lost Sirens and in this book the siren is Evie, a human girl now woman, that has endured so much suffering in her early years before finding a gentleman Arthur who took her off the streets and gave her a home for a while. Evie is still running from a serious event that occurred before her time with Arthur but this has not been revealed. Lord Greed aka Ryker is the Enforcer who is working to defeat some bad guys and reclaim a lost artifact. During a recovery mission Evie helps Ryker and team and he realizes that she is his siren. Unfortunately Evie is a runner and it is painful in the second half of this book how many times that she runs away. This book ends in a cliffhanger. Read On!

This was a light read and as with all Steph's books a bit of pure escapism. Again, as with the others nothing is ever straight forward which means more than one book which is beginning to become frustrating. I have really enjoyed most of her books and buy them on release but l have to say the very bad editing on this one drove me nuts. Also, either 'which, or but ' being used as a sentence start so often. As with so many other authors who produce copious amounts of work the quality diminishes sadly.

Loved this read, just upset I have to wait for its conclusion. Stephanie gives us another strong alpha demon, Ryker, lord of Greed. He’s strong, deadly and gorgeous. Coming face to face with your siren is never easy especially when they have no idea, about your world and think you’re the danger making them run and hide.
Great story and plot, loving the characters, loads of angst, some gore. The banter is funny, and some cute scenes but I’ll assume the stream will have to wait until the next book. Can’t wait.

Love the siren series and all that came before!

You have done it again Stephanie! Pulled me in and kept me there! The world you have created is amazing and I enjoy it all! Totally and completely! Thank you for keeping on with this! Anyone out there looking to transport to another place just start at the beginning with Stephanie Hudson's books. You will not be disappointed. You may not get to bed on time but you will definitely be intrigued! Go on....... Start from her beginning!

Still on the edge of my seat. I can't seem to stop reading. Granted this one pretty much has only a few things going on. First and foremost, is poor Ryker's temper. He tears up more office space then a tornado in a trailer park. They guy is going to end up giving himself a heart attack if Evie continues to run away every time he catches her. You would think that by the 3rd time he would just paste her to his side to keep her from escaping. This book is all about catch and escape pretty much.

Going to next book to find out if Ryker finally is able to keep ahold of his little dove.

A runaway siren.

Well, Evie's got to be one of the most determined runaway, fleeing, resourceful of all the sirens. I feel positively sorry for poor Ryker; he really can't catch a break! I can't wait to see how this one pans out. So far it's been exhausting, I think Ryker is going to have to break out the chains!

I've got to say that all the typos are still driving me crazy. There needs to be some serious quality control, I'm constantly correcting mistakes but only about 50% otherwise I'd ruin all my enjoyment of the books.

Greed’s Siren by Stephanie Hudson is a 3.5 ⭐️ read.
This is book 5 of the Siren’s series and while I love most of the books written by this author I wasn’t a big fan of this book 😭 I wasn’t a fan of either of the main characters they annoyed me so much it took me 3 days to finish it as I had to keep putting it down as I just couldn’t get along with it. This is obviously my opinion and I’d recommend reading it yourself, I know I will re-read it though when the next book gets released.

Amazing! Exciting and Thrilling!

Stephanie Hudson's is an absolute genius! This book sucked you in from page one and would not let go. Ryker Wyeth is a force to be taken very seriously! Evelyn Parker has many aka's to keep everyone wondering who she is now while on the run. Which monster is she running from Past or Present? I don't think she even knows. Can't wait for book 2 to come out. Thank you Stephanie Hudson for this amazing book.

So good!!!

This story pulls you in right away. You have Evie running for secrets of her past and getting caught up in supernatural work. Ryker King of Greed is shocked to find his Lost Siren but is unable to keep her from running as it is all she knows. He has to show his supernatural side when he discovers she is being hunted by others. Will she stop running long enough to learn her destiny?

YES BACK IN THE LOST SIREN WORLD!
I have been loving this series about these enforces to Dominic Draven and how they find there lost siren.
Oh how i have been waiting for the next installment in this series, i wasn't disappointed at all as i love this author's story telling and how her words just flow with how this is all unfolding for Ryker and Evie, even though Evie has no idea what is happening and what she means to Ryker she keeps her distance and run's from him every opportunity she gets.

If you haven't read this series yet it is a must if you loved Afterlife as you will love these. They are very addictive and you will lose yourself in there world of demons, secrets, banter and fated mates. I now can't wait for the next book to arrive after that ending.

Run, run, run away

So many unanswered questions. So much angst. Poor Ryker and poor Evie. He knows but can't tell her anything and she is too skittish to stay around long enough to get the answers. All she needs to know is there but she runs away before he can tell her. Maybe we can she the reveal in the next book. We can only hope.

Love Steph... but this one wasn't my favorite

I have enjoyed the other 4 books in the Siren series, so I am hoping Evie's Enforcer brings this story home. It wasn't my favorite Steph Hudson book, but considering I have been reading her non-stop for over 2 years I'm not going to let it deter me from loving her books as a whole.

Little Girl Scout

Exciting new book in the Lost Siren Series.

This one has an interesting past and keeps escaping. She has skills that she learned from the man who took her in when she was on the run at 10. The only problem is that her enforcer is not the only one chasing her this time.

Another great read

Stephanie Hudson has a way of drawing you into the story, so that you feel like you are a part of it.
This latest book in the Siren series grips you from the first chapter and holds your interest until the end.
Having read all of Stephanie's books Greeds Siren doesn't disappoint, it just leaves you wanting more!

I love Stephanie’s books but I found this one to be a bit to repetitive of the other books your 60%into the book before anything really happens although I’m sure Evie& Ryth have a long way to go Van caught my attention rather than ryth and then that frustrating thing Stephanie does so well it’s over and you are itching for more. I really hope Evelyn’s enforcer is better

Absolutely brilliant

Love the characters in this book.
Very relatable aspects to the female leads storyline.
Oh but Greed, now I’d like to have him obsess over me.
Ryker needs his woman but she does love to run. He will get her eventually but will it be too late?
Such an amazing read. Loved it

Needs some editing, using words that are not right - not sure if this is a translation issue, or where it has been put onto KU but it is really distracting.

The storyline was repetitive and definitely took way too long to get effectively nowhere with character or plot development.

The idea and premise of the series storyline is good.

Good Read

I found this book to be quite the fascinating read. I absolutely loved Evie and thought she was a brilliant character, I loved her resourcefulness and her sheer will to do whatever she feels is right. I’m already really looking forward to the next book to find out what was meant by the ending of this book and I can’t wait to read it.

Some Editing Issues

Greed's Siren, book 5 of Stephanie Hudson's Lost Siren series is full of wonderful characters. Hit does have several exciting issues thus the 4 stars. The storyline appears to go in circles a lot. By the end you really aren't any further along. Hopefully, the next book will advance faster.

Thumbs up!

Evie hasn't gotten it yet! Ryk needs to modify his approach. They both need to be honest. It will happen. I really am enjoying Evie's resilience and her escape plans. My kind of hero.
