This second installment in the series surpasses its predecessor, delivering an even more gripping narrative filled with tension, excitement, and a touch of trepidation. I found myself utterly engrossed, reluctant to reach the end! It's yet another page-turner that leaves you craving for more. I'm eagerly anticipating the next book in the series.

Narrated from the alternating perspectives of Grant and Julia, the second book in the Hearts and Holdings series immerses you in the dramatic journey of our protagonists. Grant and Julia's dynamic is one to root for as they confront not only external threats but also their own inner struggles. This isn't your typical light and fluffy romance; rather, it offers a deeply layered, slow-burn narrative filled with profound connections and an 'us against the world' vibe. Nellie Steele's storytelling prowess shines through once again, leaving me eagerly awaiting the next installment. Book three is already on my 'to be read' pile!

With its myriad layers of mystery and excitement, this fast-paced tale kept me glued to its pages. I can't wait to see where Grant and Julia's journey takes them next. Here's hoping book three arrives swiftly!.

The 2nd book in the series and Nellie doesn't fail to put in a surprise twist. Julia after an accident and an ER visit meets Dr. Kyle who stalks her and gets into a fight with Grant who ends up back in jail. Then Sierra and Julia plan a shopping trip and they are kidnapped and Julia finds out that Kyle and Grant have a deep dark secret. This book is a fun read with some suspence and I look forward to the 3rd book in this series.

Grant and Julia’s fake marriage got off to a rocky start thanks to Grant being the suspected murderer of his secretary in book 1. Julia may have foiled that plot, but things are anything but rosy for the couple. A series of misunderstandings as well as Sierra’s attitude derail Grant’s attempts to talk to Julia about their relationship. Harrington Global is still under attack from both the board and the still elusive DG Industries. When Julia is nearly run down by a car, Dr. Kyle Carter takes an interest in Julia’s safety, accusing Grant of spousal abuse. Despite Julia’s denials, Kyle continues to escalate his attacks on Grant, hinting at something much deeper than just a doctor’s concern. When Julia & Sierra are kidnapped, Grant is prepared to go to any lengths to get them back. Will the danger surrounding them bring them closer together or end this fake marriage before it can become more? And what effect will the bombshell from Grant’s past have on the Harrington family?

Told from the alternating viewpoints of Grant and Julia, book 2 in the Hearts and Holdings sweeps you along with the drama surrounding our hero & heroine. Grant and Julia are a couple worth rooting for as they face not only their outside adversaries but their own doubts and fears. If you’re looking for a light and fluffy romance, this isn’t it. But if you want a richly layered, slow burn, deep connection, us against the world adventure, dive on in. Nellie Steele doesn’t disappoint. Book 3 is already on my TBR pile.

This is the second book in this series and is even better than the first. There is tension and excitement linked with fear and loathing.

Grant and Julia’s characters are still no nearer to admitting their feelings to themselves let alone each other. In any relationship honesty is the best way to avoid misunderstandings but theirs is no ordinary relationship.

When blackmail is involved you can be certain that there is dishonesty too and that the stakes are high. The stakes in this case are both human and financial.

I am excited to discover how the story of Grant and Julia turns out. Bring on book three quickly, please.

Blackmail of a Billionaire is Book 2 in the Hearts and Holdings Series by Nellie Steele. I liked that book 2 closely follows the ending of book 1. I love how the author is perfectly writing the sparks and emotions between Julia and Grant. A new character is introduced in this book and he throws havoc into the mix. There are so many layers of mystery and excitement. I could not put this fast paced story down. I believe that this series is one of the best romantic suspense series I have ever read.

WOW!

This book is the second installment of the series ‘Hearts and Holdings Billionaire Romance’, by author Nellie Steele. It was a great book.
This is not a standalone book—it begins with a continuation of the story of Grant and Julia from book one—‘Bet on a Billionaire’.
Grant and Julia are in a fake, arranged marriage, aiming to improve his public image so he can retain control of his company, Harrington Global. Through countless misunderstandings, on both sides, they are struggling—with the marriage, their emotions, and feelings for each other.
Grant can be hot-headed and spontaneous with his actions but Julia is the voice of reason and, generally a calming influence on him—but he continues to jump to baseless conclusions and act on them!
Emotions run high in book two. Read it. You won’t be sorry. This is definitely not your typical billionaire romance book.

Another page turner in this unusual
entertaining romance thriller series. Julia's husband has some control issues and pays the price when he let's it gets the best of him. I really like Julia's character, she is a strong honest woman trying to do what is right in a difficult situation. As usual, better communication would solve most of their problems but then there wouldn't be much of a story. An engaging storyline, second in the series and should be read together. Looking forward to the next one.

Blackmail of a Billionaire

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Blackmail of a Billionaire is the second installment of the Hearts and Holdings, Clean Billionaire Romance series and picks up where the first books ended. Grant’s contractual marriage to Julia, to improve his image and save his position as CEO of Worthington Global Industries, seems to be working well despite him being falsely accused of murdering his executive secretary. Julia was clever enough to solve the crime, save his secretary from certain death, and discover a mysterious DG Industries behind the whole thing. Grant seems to encounter difficult situations as the story progresses, from unwanted sexual advances from a temporary secretary to an unexpected, dubious dinner guest his daughter Sierra insists on attending an important business dinner. The tension increases when Julia is nearly hit by a speeding car and a just happens to be there ER doctor is conveniently close by. The pinnacle of Grant’s troubles begins with the good doctor accusing Grant of physical abuse against Julia and then the kidnapping of both his daughter, Sierra, and his wife Julia while they are out shopping and his chauffeur James being shot trying to protect them.
I thought the story was well-written and flowed well, especially when keeping in mind the events of the first book. The inter-character relationships are complicated but riveting, leaving the reader to choose to hate or love the persona of the individual(s). The suspense builds gradually but with a strong undercurrent that thrusts the story into a mesh of unpredictable developments. The tension between some of the characters grows intense, which eventually leads to violence, while family interpersonal relationships evolve into something more, stronger. There are definitely unpredictable twists in the plot, leaving the reader wondering where the story is heading and who will survive. As the plot thickens, the pages of the book seem to turn on their own, leading to a highly satisfying and intriguing reading experience. This is a fantastic clean romance that is sure to satisfy and keep its readers fascinated. I highly recommend the books and the series to everyone looking for an entertaining, clean romance novel/series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Readers Copy

Book 2 of this beautifully soft and gentle romance series, and Grant, Julia, Sierra again lock horns and cope with mishaps and attacks. In this book the roles of the MC's are expanded, but also are those of the Harrington Household.

There is a surprise romance that you will not have seen coming sowing the seeds for story lines to come. Nellie has taken the opportunity to slip in some new character’s, some of whom were not expanded in tis outing, but are without doubt sitting there in the background to be brought out later in this series, unless of course they are red herrings.... you just never know with Nellie.

In this story it would seem that the major threat of the board has, for now, been resolved. This time we fight a new enemy, DG Industries, a faceless enemy intent, it would seem, on the demise of Grant and the dismantling of his company. But we also are introduced to Kyle, a doctor who is slipped into the storyline without any fuss, no indication of the complicated role he is going to play as the story opens up before us.

Once again, we have the police on Grants case, Juliet playing the hero, and so many twists and turns that you will be giddy. As for Sierra, what can I say. Such a wonderfully diverse and complicated character that you will love, hate, be cheerful and want to take down a dark alley to take revenge at odd times during this outing. She is a great, wrong person at the wrong time, one person army as we progress, but throughout her mismanagement, poor timing and that mouth, you cannot help but to have feelings for.

Nellie is a master of creating a plot that is slapstick at times, bold and out there...but draws you in and never lets you go. This book is no exception and you will just love it...guaranteed.

Yes, it is a romance, there is no doubt about that, and yes it is gentle and clean, but there is no doubt as to the attraction, love and emotional attraction of the MC's, despite the attempts of so many to trip them up!

Like me, I am sure that you will be left gagging for the next in this series, and hoping that it will not be too long a wait.

Enjoy!.

Grant and Julia Harrington make a great couple and they both need to admit the attraction they have to each and forget the marriage contract they signed. They got married because he needed to improve his image in the company that he has grown for years as the CEO. He has been married 4 other times, but they all were just after his money and status. He has a very spoiled daughter; Sierra and she now runs a publishing company that daddy bought for her. In this second book we find out that he has a 33-year-old son that he never knew about, Kyle Carter. He is a doctor at a nearby hospital. Kyle has a lot of very deep feelings of hurt toward his dad but hopefully now that everyone knows with the big secret, with Julia's help and encouragement they can learn to get along and forget the past.
Grant seems to have a very loyal staff at home with the butler and chauffer and at work with the secretary and security team. Everyone just loves Julia, and they must admit that she is very good for Grant. Julia is a writer, so she spends a lot of time locked in her office working on her latest book. She also has a very curious side that seems to get her in trouble. In this book she is almost hit by a car, and they meet Kyle as he treats her at the scene of the accident and the hospital. Luckily, she gets away with just scrapes and a sprained wrist.
In this great book we have lots of action and adventure. It keeps us guessing as to who is behind all of the problems occurring at the company and in their personal lives. What will happen next? Hopefully the security team will figure out who the culprit is, who kidnapped his secretary in the first book and who tried to run Julia over in this one. There is a book 3 and I cannot wait to see what will happen there. I highly that you check out this series of books, you will not regret it.

Book one left me wanting more, and this installment didn’t disappoint, although it won’t leave you satisfied! I’m still not crazy about Sierra, but Grant, Julia, and Worthington have totally won my heart. I admit, the hardest part of reading this is just how slow the burn is - neither Grant nor Julia is really ready for a true relationship or to admit they have feelings starting for the other, and are doing their best to stick to the contract they signed. Furthermore, I have to admire Julia. This book really elevated my already high opinion of her. When she and Sierra were kidnapped, I don’t think I’d have handled things and Sierra as well or as kindly as she did. And it feels genuine, not forced. I don’t know how Steele has managed to pull it off, but she’s built a character that is sweet, and kind, even when others around her aren’t always. The tension in this story is from more than just Grant and Julia, and you’ll be pulled in easily from the start. I highly recommend reading book one first, as it continues directly from that.

Julia’s one-year marriage of convenience to Grant Harrington is getting complicated. They are each falling for the other, but hesitant to confront those feelings.

“The thought of their contract ending didn’t bring relief or indifference, but an unaccustomed sense of loss. Her resilience and her gentle nature had etched themselves into his life in a way he hadn’t anticipated.”

Each of them found in compromising situations, attempts on Julia’s life, attempts to frame Grant for domestic abuse, and a kidnapping, muddy the waters and blur the lines even further.

“He had no right, no claim to her heart. Yet, the thought of her with someone else twisted a knife in a wound he hadn’t known he possessed.”

I couldn’t put this book down! Definitely an edge-of-your-seat page-turner with a strong dose of action!.

You need to read book one first or you’ll be lost. I enjoyed this book. It was nice seeing the povs from both main characters. The situations that they go through helps me understand what each was thinking with the dual views and it kept me going and wondering if they would figure it out, would they confront each other, etc.It did get a bit tiring at points because it made me feel like I was rereading the same chapter again. It was sweet how the other personal employees tried to help the two with their problems. Sierra took me on a rollercoaster of emotions but I was very proud that Grant wasn’t letting her just steam roll him. I felt like Julia could have had more of a backbone at times but I had to give her leeway because she was wife number 5. As someone put it, there had to be a reason numbers 1-4 didn’t work out. Since this is part of a series it ends with an uncertainty, so we’ll have to just hope things end well.

Nellie Steel gives us another page turner with the second book of Julia and Grant’s story. Steel ended Bet on a Billionaire on a cliffhanger that irritated me because I wanted more then and there. Blackmail of a Billionaire continued exactly where we left Julia and Grant, which I personally enjoyed. I didn’t feel like I missed something pivotal to the story line.

With that being said… talk about a plot twist yet again!!! I was not expecting the ending, I didn’t catch up to speed till Steel brought it out to the opening. I can’t imagine where she will take Grant and Julia story next. Hopefully we will get some closure on who the mastermind behind it all is.

3⭐️s = Enjoyable read that I don’t regret picking up but most likely won’t be a reread for me personally.

I just finished “Blackmail-of-a-Billionaire" By Nellie H. Steele. This book is the second in a series, well written and easy to read. The characters are well developed and very easy to relate to. As I read, I felt the emotions and reactions of the characters as the story progressed. If you like mystery and romance this book has an excellent mixture of both. I am looking forward to the third book in this series, “Bargain-with-a-Billionaire, since MS Steele has me wanting to know what happens next.

This is a cozy and enjoyable read!
I had read the first in this series, and loved it, so was anxious for the second. The main character, Julia, sure gets herself into situations. She is smart, beautiful, and extremely likable.
This is a love story but with a lot of mystery and intrigue. Definitely worth a read. Now I’m looking forward to the third in the series.
Also, if you enjoy this book, you should look for other Nellie Steele’s series’s, like the Dunhaven Castle and the Duchess of Blackmore.

Loved reading the exciting and engaging story. After Julia is almost hit by a car, Grant rushes to the hospital to see her, and when both Julia and his daughter are kidnapped, Grant is willing to give up everything to see them safely returned. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a riveting storyline captivating the reader from the first page until the last page, and full of anticipation for the next story in the series by the incredible author, Nellie H. I thought that book 1 bet on. A billionaire was great. This was so much better. We got to see more of the romance between Julia and Grant, as well as, get a few more surprises. We got to see more of a relationship develop between Sierra and Julia. Which is everything book on was missing. The Clift hanger was impeccable. I really loved this book. I hope that other reader love it too.

I’m intrigued

I’m quite involved in this series now and want to know what’s happening. I like the secret that unfolded in this book but I have to say, I’m not a fan of the chapters that switch point of views and then repeat the whole same story but from the other characters point of view. I’m totally fine with switching povs but please continue the tale, don’t repeat the exact information again. Looking forward to book 3.

This was a good read. Grant and Julia are just trying to move past all the drama. However, things continue to get messy for them. Especially, since someone is convinced that Julia is being abused. Unfortunately, things still aren't solved. So, if you don't like cliffhangers then I would not recommend this series to you.

Thrilling romance!

Well written and well… everything! I was thrown from left to right then down the middle only to be swept away to the left again, and back! Full of things I didn’t see coming and very entertaining! And very important for me: the characters. I have to be able to relate in some way and that was not a problem here at all! Very well done, now I can’t wait to read the next book!

As I suspected the reason was unrealistic for the actions he took but made for an interesting story. I wish it would have been explored a little more before you’re forced to continue to the next book, but I guess that’s the point of a series. Will I continue on to books 3?—yes of course, starting it now.
