An ancient secret awakens, beckoning the brave into the shadows of history.
Carter Mosley is thrust into an unexpected adventure when his childhood friend and former dive partner, Jeff Shelton, leaves him a cryptic message. Carter is hesitant given his friend's shadowy past, but loyalty draws him in. Joined by Avery Turner, he heads to England to follow the trail. The quest turns deadly when Jeff is murdered and a link to Captain Ace Mullins, a legendary pirate whose tale conceals a priceless treasure, is unveiled.
From England's ancient reefs to Paris's underground catacombs, their search escalates into a high-stakes race across Europe. As Carter and Avery confront mercenaries and decode the past, the treasure they seek becomes more than just riches; it's a puzzle steeped in history, where each clue could be their last.
Bestselling authors LynDee Walker and Bruce Robert Coffin pen this heart-pounding adventure thriller, where the past and present collide, revealing secrets that some would kill to keep buried. Perfect for fans of Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt series and Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code.

This is such an enjoyable, action packed series! Who wouldn’t love a good treasure hunt? Avery, Carter and Harrison are interesting well developed characters and their adventures keep you engaged until the final page is turned. The story of how the treasure was lost in the first place is told through a series of ‘flashbacks’ that are interspersed throughout Avery, Carter and Harry’s modern day search for the treasure. This blending of past and present gives a sense of history and gives depth to the overall story. This series is pure, fun entertainment!
I received an ARC through "Severn River" and I am voluntary leaving an honest review
The story begins with Carter making a special documentary when he checks his phone and sees that he has a message from Jeff, an old friend he hasn't been in touch with for a long time. After listening to the message, he, Avery and Harry immediately fly to London. Once arriving in London, Carter receives a message from Jeff and a meeting is set. At this meeting, Jeff is killed. Carter is Jeff's phone and wallet before Jeff is taken away. Once they all get back to their hotel, they examine the phone and based on what information they learned, start trying to find why Jeff was killed.
They discovered that Jeff had found a valuable ring and this led them to learning of a treasure that the pirate "Ace Mullins" had hidden. No the search was on to try and locate the treasure. The group discovered that they weren't the only ones that wanted it. In their search they were attacked several times. Avery in the end eventually laid out a plan because she had figured out the clues.
To discover why Jeff was killed, what the treasure was and where it was hidden then you need to read this book. Interspersed between the chapters related to the current search are individual chapters explaining the history behind the treasure.
This is a great continuation of the series, don't miss out!
As always, with The Pirate's Secret, the 3rd book in The Turn and Mosley Files, LynDee Walker and Bruce Coffin bring us an adventure that could be a blockbuster on the movie screen. This time Carter is the one pushing to discover secrets that an old friend is afraid of. Dashing through England and France, the trio doesn't quite manage to stay that key step away from the villains as they search for the treasure that had led to death and big-time secrets long kept in a breath-taking race again an unknown enemy or is that unsuspected enemy. I borrowed this copy from KU but will soon add it to my Kindle Library.
As in the previous books in this series The Pirate's Secret has lots of action, mystery, and adventure. Jeff, Carter's long lost friend, dies after finding a antique royal ring that was stolen by a well known pirate. While trying to learn what they are dealing with, Avery, Harrison and Carter will see themselves entangled with the local police in the UK and France and will also have to deal wit the MI5. They'll discover much more than a hidden treasure, they'll find a conspiracy that is beyond anyone's dream. Entertaining! I thank the authors, their publisher, and NetGalley for this ARC.
Holy Cannoli this was quite the adventure! I LOVED this story. It was non-stop action from start to finish. And this unlikely trio is so much fun. I can’t get enough of their adventures. This concept is so much with characters that leap off the pages. I’m so looking forward to more! This is normally not my usual go to but this series has it all…action, mystery, adventure, humor with characters you fall in love with.
This is a great series. The characters are interesting and action is suspenseful, but fun. Avery, Carter, and Harry are off on another treasure hunt, this time for crown jewels stolen by a pirate 400 years ago. The search takes the trio to England, France, Greece, and back to England, where a daring heist provides the final clue, and lands them in the middle of a dangerous plot. I highly recommend this book.
The great trio has another adventure! Carter gets a call from his childhood friend Jeff, the message is a code they had in place. Jeff is in trouble, he needs help. Jeff has been in trouble for many years, criminal activity is nothing new, but to reach to Carter means he needs help. Avery and Harris will not let Carter head out by himself. The trip takes them to London, history takes them to a king and a pirate … and quite a daring heist.
Received this book as an ARC. HAVING READ OTHER BOOKS BY THIS AUTHOR I WAS INTRIGUED. But, to properly understand the background. I read the first two books in the series before starting. The series is a fun read - Steve Berry meets Daniel Silva. They’re fast moving with well developed characters. Highly recommend.
The action continues for Turner and Mosley. This one takes the jet-setting pair, along with retired police detective Harrison, around the globe to solve a historic mystery that someone doesn't want solved. Pirates, treasure, intrigue, exotic adventures, and international criminal rings. What's not to love?
Excellent story! I read the first couple of paragraphs and said this story isn't for me but I did finish the first chapter. I then started the second chapter; I couldn't stop reading! It's an excellent story. I just found out there are most stories in this series, which I'm currently reading and has me hooked. I look forward to reading more stories from Ms. Walker.
Very fast read, non stop suspense, with many funny situations that add to the plot! Ms. Walker and Mr. Coffin have written three winners in the The Turner and Mosley Files. The Pirate'.s Secret will keep the reader turning the pages.
What an amazing story full of suspense and secrets. Avery is thrown into a dangerous situation when he receives a strange request from a friend. Will he discover the truth in time. Ready for the next book.
I blazed through the first two books of this series and thought they were excellent. This one for some reason didn't capture me right away. Parts were engaging but not like the first two books. Finished it but wasn't as good as the others to me
A great read with loads of twist and turns and a few red herrings thrown in for luck. The set in England and about the theft of the Crown Jewels. Love the characters and sone interesting news ones added for this story.
Can’t enough of these two (and Harrison of course)! This was a fun twist with the Crown Jewels and some thieves that were finally not against the duo, but with them. Excited for Pharoahs Tomb!
I'm amazed that these authors can write so many fantastic novels, I hope that they never stops writing. Their books are some of the best Entertainment I have read and worth the time to read them. Thank you for a very fun entertaining read.
Action packed, fast moving, entertaining mix of past and present mystery solving and treasure seeking. Some interesting new characters join the Avery-Carter-Harrison trio on their moves around the world. You may shake your head at some of the shenanigans, and laugh at others, but overall good fun.
This is another great book in the Turner and Mosley series. They are drawn in to a crazy story by a frantic request from a former best buddy of Carter's. The friend is killed and a British spy asks for their help finding a ring. They agree to help if the spy helps find out who killed Carter's friend.
Things get very active for everyone involved from there. There are hints of pirate treasure, the theft of the British crown jewels and many thugs chasing Carter, Avery and Harry. The pace picks up there and doesn't stop.
The story once again has great characters, the story is fun for the reader to follow, and the history surrounding the story is wonderful. I can't wait for the next one.
“…a computer genius, a social media star and a retired cop…” a great concept for a thriller of a series. However, this story gets bogged down with minutiae as the team travels to Europe in their attempt to track down a stolen ring from the Royal Crown jewels. I wish more time was spent on developing the characters, as they can bring so much more to the story. However, I am now hooked on this series and plan to read the group’s earlier adventures. (P.S. I personally would prefer more diving time.) I received an ARC from NetGalley, and the opinions expressed are my own.
THE PIRATE'S SECRET - The writing style reminds me of Die Hard and Hudson Hawk. Silly in places but with good story lines and good characters. What the Pirate did was excellent. Source: Netgalley. 4*
