“There is a primitive, obscure darkness in the collective subconscious, and with provocation, it can slip out as violent action. A normal person would be horrified to learn the unbearable reality of the brutality we are capable of”
Tommy Balisong is male talent for extreme fetish videos. It’s a job not many have the stomach or pain tolerance to do. Motivated by self-loathing and drug addiction, he has made a career out of pushing the envelope of violence and depravity.
When Tommy receives an offer to work with a mysterious group of underground producers for a life changing amount of money, he finds himself unwillingly cast in the darkest performance of his life. He quickly discovers the producers have a very twisted idea of “entertainment”, and that he will have to fight tooth and nail, and do unforgivable things for his survival.
“A rare gem that will satiate your blood lust and keep you highly entertained till the end. No cliches here, just twists that will throw you through loop after loop, each one making it harder and harder to keep down your breakfast." - Shelby Scott, Scare You To Sleep

3.5 stars. This was a very grisly story. If you are not comfortable with extreme body horror, this won’t be your cup of tea. Our lead, Tommy, is a star in the underground fetish market. Torturing, killing, and whatever else needs to be done, he is a seasoned veteran of it all. That is, until he is taken hostage by a group that plays to his specialties in a way that is more horrifying than he could have imagined. And, as you’d expect, things go from ugly and nauseating to unforgivable and demented. By far, the star here was the writing quality. That outshined everything else. The author has a wonderful way with words and crafting a story with a solid narrative. Now the content is specific for a certain type of horror enthusiast, which I happen to be a part of, and pushes boundaries at times. So the atmosphere and overall impact that Andrew Parker was looking for was achieved. I did have two major critiques, the lesser being that the formatting on the eBook made it hard to follow. Paragraphs were blurred together and the font and spacing shifted around. The other piece that was missing for me was the necessary background and overall emotionality of Tommy. I get that he could push his feelings to the side and ignore any sense of humanity, but that needed to be focused on more, even in place of some of the excessive violence. Some sort of internal conflict could have added some great layers to the plot and not make it feel so one dimensional. It didn’t mar the story much, but it did feel like a missed opportunity to me. Overall this was a good experience, not without a few issues, but, again, this guy can write his ass off.
This book was phenomenal! Hits the ground running and doesn't hold back any punches whatsoever. I love Andrews' use of medical terminologies and how graphic and off the walls he was with some of the depravity and gore. The grammar and spelling were on point. I only found one sentence that could have been resolved.
Parts of this book are based on real events, pretty much all the stuff excluding the graphic death and killing
I would highly recommend this to anyone who wanted a quick brutal read. I got Talia vibes by the end of the story, which I loved.
Underground pornography, violence and cryptocurrency
The writing in this was great and the plot was something I find especially interesting, but the story was incredibly rushed. This is around 90 pages, but I think it should've been ATLEAST 200. It's brutal and bloody, but it felt as if we were jumping around and reading small parts of a longer novel
I'd be interested to read a longer piece of fiction from Andrew Parker, but this didn't do all that much for me :(
I think the title of this book sums up the story perfectly haha.
Gross, disgusting, gut churning are other descriptors that work quite well too.
This short but extremely violent story centres around hurtcore and the evil people that film/distribute the material. Once in their grasp, it’s hard to escape.
The exercise bike scene was probably the worst thing I’ve read in a while to be honest. Yikes…
"When you've got that many endorphins and adrenaline shooting through your veins, your brain does some weird shit to you. I'm not a believer, but I think this is what religious folks believe is heaven. The hallucinations of a brain flooded with chemicals. Time dilation, a sensation of total euphoric security and serenity, dissociation from the body, the tunnel of light, and the time knife. The whole "near death experience" experience."
Tommy Balisong's choice of career isn't your generic office 9 to 5.. but an actor for hurtcore dark web videos. Fueled by a severe morphine addiction and high pain tolerance, he will endure anything paying customers are willing to watch.. Until he takes a job for the wrong people and things are about to get more painful than he could ever imagine..
Honestly, I had been putting off reading this for the longest time. The reviews I'd seen were okay but didn't make me want to rush to read it.. however, in my opinion, this book has been deeply underappreciated because I thought it was fantastic, and I'm so glad that I decided to disregard what I'd heard and give it a shot.
Not only is the writing incredible, but it's some of the most descriptive and vivid body horror I've read. The complete character turnaround from assuming he's a drug addled mess to completely feeling sorry for him is insane and the knowledge and execution of explaining what's going through his head when he's held captive, in darkness, drugged and delirious is fucking phenomenal. You can feel and see what he's going through, and it's the worst kind of torture imaginable.. mental torture. The mind can be a very scary place to be when you're alone and afraid.
I loved everything about this book, and I absolutely devoured it in one sitting, I couldn't put it down. I was disgusted, shocked, and heartbroken all at once. If you're a fan of intense gore and depravity, you'll definitely want to give this one a go.
The book was filled with bloodshed and violence that seemed never-ending, creating a whirlwind of disorder and intensity throughout. P0rnography and horror are a better pair than most when it comes to horror, as long as the author is skilled in balancing out the two extremes. This is a visual, unsettling journey into the world of adult films, and spotlights some pretty intense and realistic portrayals of those in the world of sex, drugs and living life without boundaries, and sometimes, morals. And Tommy finds out just how dark things can be in his line of work. Recommend for those who love a grisly tale!
So my biggest issue with this book… NO PAGE NUMBERS!! The atrocity! I honestly was like um where am I , haha.
Okay less dramatic now, this book wasnt bad! The story line flowed smoothly and it definitely gave the extreme horror/gore feel. Normally i am ok with extreme gore but this one topped the cake for me because it was more realistic than some others that I’ve read. It was things i could actually picture and i wont lie i cried a few times and had to put it down and come back to it. I enjoyed it though otherwise and it really kind of showed the dangers of being in sex work, mostly specific fetish kinds. It can turn south so quickly and it’s an important indicator to never meet strangers to work with and always be safe and have someone aware of where you are and what at you are doing! Overall was a nice short read and a great palette cleanser to get me prepped and ready for spooky season!!
I've read 3 short stories by this author, and really like his writing style. This was a gritty well written story about underground pornography, and the dark web. Can't wait to see what Parker writes next.
AND YOU'RE FUCKING TELLING ME THIS IS BASED ON PARKERS OWN FUCKING EXPERIENCE???? That made this story a million times more brutal. I absolutely LOVED it and I wish there was more!
Meet Tommy. Tommy works in the underground hurt-core scene within the dark web. When a large sum of money is offered his way for his “special services”, he simply can’t refuse. After all, what’s he got to lose and he needs the money to continue to feed his rather expensive opiate addiction. However, little does Tommy realize, what exactly it is he signed up for and will be subject to the worst horrors imagined.
Andrew did a stellar job crafting this brutal story. This was a fast-paced read for me and the gore component was absolutely top notch 🤌
If you’re looking for your next extreme horror read, that delivers on the gore with a solid narrative, then this is your book.
Short book, not my favorite writing style. In my opinion, over-use of the phrase “all of a sudden”, which I find to be lazy writing. But the story was pretty gross, which is what I expected. Though not the best extreme horror story I’ve read, it wasn’t bad.
I only found out about this book last night. It was recommended by another splatter punk Author. And wow, I was seriously impressed. It is so well written the gore is gory but written in such a way that you can't put It down. 100% would recommend if you are a splatter punk reader.
And if Andrew the Author sees this, I'd love more, please. What happens next to our mmc? I know for sure he has more stories in him.

Obscene was a brief, fast-paced book filled with violence and gory content. Overall, the book was well-written, although I was distracted in a few points due to the lengthy descriptive paragraphs. This book is certainly geared toward extreme content, which I enjoyed. I would have liked to see more character development for Tommy.
first time reading this author and definitely not the last
I'm not a fan of gore for the sake of gore so I'm glad whenever I find a brutal bok with a great plot. Easy read and fast paced. I was in a bit of a reading slump and I blew through this in two days.
This story was absolutely captivating. I thoroughly enjoyed it including the final outcome. Great character development. It definitely is worth reading if you want something fast paced and full of gore.
Brilliant idea of a story. I enjoy it when the author doesn’t feel the need to describe every incident that’s happening but leaves the reader to use their own imagination.
From other reviews I expected this to be absolutely disgusting, but it was definitely not what I was expecting. There were a few gross parts but overall it just wasn't enough for me.
This book was a good time. I liked the concept of it. I do wish that it had been a bit longer so that we got to know Tommy a bit better. With that said, I think Andrew did a good job of adding some depth to him in the limited word count.
I also wish that we would of gotten a bit more of an idea of the things he did during the time when he lost his memory. It makes sense that he would block that stuff out though.
Overall, I'd recommend this one - it was a fun time.
This story was truly captivating with several realistic elements that grabbed the reader’s attention from the beginning and transported them into the character’s mind. Parker’s ability to not only immerse, but to spin a story meshed between real life horrors and a tale of fiction is something to highlight. Overall, this was a fast paced entertaining read.
This is an extreme, gritty and gory little read. The MC goes through some depraved, atrocious acts and the book reads like a drug-induced, fever dream complete with horrific hallucinations. If you’re in a reading slump and need a quick read to pull you out; check out this gore-soaked book, you won’t be disappointed.
This was brutal. It's the kind of read that makes you reevaluate your standards for what transgresssive means. Wrapped in a surprisingly svelte package you can definitely read this quickly though if you're like me it might take a few sittings. Good stuff.
