Ever since my parents died, I've had one priority, and it isn't romance. Raising my younger brother is a full-time job.I don't have time for a personal life, and I've accepted that I'll be the world's oldest virgin by the time Eric no longer needs me. But when my younger brother decides to post on a Seattle social media site and play matchmaker with one of the responders, everything changes. Suddenly, my life is full of sweet text messages, scary choices, and romantic rendezvous--all courtesy of one stubborn little brother determined to see me find love. I don't know whether to hug him or ground him. Maybe I'll do both. Right after I watch Sleepless in Seattle again, and wonder if maybe there could be a leading man for me after all.

Great title, catchy blurb, cute guy on the cover ... unfortunately, those are the only positive things I can say about this book.
I was bored almost immediately. There are meddling friends and a meddling little brother who violates every rule (with no consequences) to set his older brother up on a date with the other MC.
This kid is 12, you all. No 12-year-old gives a shit about adult dating life. They just don't.
Everything is jolly and easy, and I couldn't take it anymore. I rarely DNF books this far along, but my time is worth more.
2.5 but I felt bad giving it 2⭐ because the book wasn't that bad, it just wasn't that good. This and the other book in the series are rom com reboots, this one is sleepless in Seattle, although I liked the concept I didn't like the book itself. It was too insta lovy, like *fated Mates without the fated apart * insta love.
What I really enjoy was no 3rd act breakup, kudos for that. If you have nothing better to read (like me) this book is okay
This is soft and sweet in a way that will make you feel better about the world after a hard day. What I'd call a hot cocoa book. I truly enjoyed it. It feels like a well thought out story because of the details, down to the friend groups, and yet it is straightforward and simple enough (plot wise) to make it easy to read. And I like the way the friends and Eric meddle, it is pushy but not too much and also not to the point of being invasive. It came out as well meaning as they meant it to be.
- First Times - Little Bro Interference - Found Family - Rom-Com - Hurt/Comfort
This is a soft and sweet quick read that's part of a series paying nods to classic Rom-Coms. It's a snuggle up with a fuzzy blanket and drink a hot beverage kind of read, very cozy. The little brother, Eric, made this book a fun read and the MCs are glad for his meddling in the end. Sweet, shy, and socially awkward Zach has had legal guardianship over his brother for the past two years. Zach has been putting Eric first to make sure his brother is happy and healthy, but he isn't doing the same for himself. His little brother reaches out on social media to get advice on how to handle getting Zach to finally have something of his own and find love. Enter Tristian, one of the replies to Eric's post, who has been unlucky in love and trying to find it in all the wrong people. After reading Eric's post he finally feels like the man he's been looking for truly exist, and it might just be Zach.
They're cute and drag Eric around on their dates initially, poor kid. Zach does hold Tristian at arm’s length for a while because he's so scared of getting attached and possibly losing someone else important to him and his brother. It's all the cheesy stuff in here and depending on your mood, you'll either love it or hate it.
After the death of their parents, Zach's sole priority for the last two years has been his little brother Eric, and there definitely hasn't been time for a social life or romance outside of that. Tired of seeing his older brother alone, Eric takes things into his own hands and puts a post up on a local social media page in the hopes to find someone for his brother.
Tristan, who has been unlucky in love and looking for it in all the wrong places, stumbles across Eric's post about Zach and decides to comment. When Zach messages him apologizing on his little brother's behalf, Tristan shoots his shot and asks him out, but Zach is hesitant to meet. & after even more meddling from his little brother, the two eventually do and hit it off.
Sexless in Seattle was a fun twist on Sleepless in Seattle, and I enjoyed every minute of it. The progression of Zach and Tristan's relationship from internet friends to IRL and then more was very sweet. I loved that Tristan understood how important Eric was to Zach and made sure to always include him, and never made a fuss about how slow Zach wanted to take their relationship either (even if it was beyond glacial).
I enjoyed this, but it wasn’t my favorite book by D. J. Jamison. I’m a big fan so I feel bad only giving one of her books 3 stars. I just didn’t like how long Zach kept holding Tristan at arms length. I loved the epilogue though it was so sweet.
This is a sweet low angst story with no last minute drama. That certainly is a plus in my opinion.
So this is DJ Jamison’s newest series of novellas and each one is LIGHTLY based on pop culture romances of the 90s. Sexless in Seattle is a given but it features a little brother, Eric, trying to hook up his big brother/guardian, Zach with someone since he’s so lonely. That someone turns out to be Tristan, a young man looking for love but only finding duds.
When Tristan sees the post Eric made for his brother, he feels a pull. When the two message each other, that connection grows. And when these two finally meet, sparks fly.
These two were SO CUTE. Tristan was so patient and caring and considerate. Zach had the world on his shoulders and it was so nice watching him open up. He really found a partner in Tristan. And of course Eric was a cute younger brother. I can’t wait for more from this world!
Breakup: No POV: 1st, Dual Top/Bottom or Vers: Top/Bottom
I was feeling kind of stuck with my reading and not quite sure what I wanted to read next. My friend recommended this book and I’m so glad she did as I absolutely loved it! From start to finish it was such a cute, fun story. I absolutely loved the addition of Eric as the little brother who brings the two MCs together. He was so cute and acted his age for sure.
Zach was such an amazing big brother! The sacrifices he made were so admirable so that he could raise Eric after their parents passed. Tristan was also a great character and I loved how patient he was with Zach while he figured out how to balance pseudo parent hood with his dating life.
I loved seeing them get to know each other without pressure over texts. This was absolutely a rom-com and I highly recommend! I look forward to reading the others in the series as well!
I liked this reminder of the great movie with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.
Here we have Zach a 22 year old Coffee Shop Manager struggling to take care of his 12 year old brother after their parents were killed in a car crash.
He’s the kinda guy who takes his responsibilities very seriously, plus he loves his little brother, Eric. Eric needs come before his own, and nothing is allowed to interfere with their routine. Definitely no dating, no time for that, no.
Fun times are when Zach’s friends come over for movie nights. Even they try to get him to date but his response is always the same, ‘No guy would want to be No. 2 on his list of priorities’.
Little brother Eric overheard this conversation and wasn’t going to take the responsibility of stopping his brother from having a boyfriend.
So he took matters into his own hands and placed an ad on an App. And so the fun started.
This is a warm, fuzzy wuzzy read, with no angsty bits, just right for a quick, quiet read curled up in a cosy spot.
Aww, this was such an adorable story and like every DJ books, i couldn't put it down. After his parents death, Zach has given up everything to look after his younger brother Eric, including dating. So Eric puts up an ad to look for a date for Zach. Tristan has been dumped and is desperate to find someone to settle down with. He replies to the ad and despite Zach's reluctance, they start getting to know each other. I thought their connection was sweet. The story was full of sassy, quirkiness and adorable moments.
Thoroughly enjoyed this romp through Seattle via our two MCs and there are just enough Sleepless in Seattle movie references to keep me smiling without going overboard. Getting to know Zach and Tristan as they are learning about each other left me with a warm and happy feeling every time I had to (reluctantly) put down my book.
Eric is the orphaned young brother now guardianed by his older brother after their parents' deaths. He is the most important thing in his brother's life, but hampering the social life and love adventures both until Eric goes online to search for a date for his big brother.
With many responses, he is able to find the perfect match and then maneuver the friends of both to make the Seattle Needle on Valentine's Day and affair to remember. Best brother ever!
I'm not a true dedicant of romcoms, but I have a cultural familiarity with the classics so I was still pretty excited for this. However, it didn't really work for me. I think the pacing that works in the movie doesn't really translate here, and I felt like I was being told how sweet and sappy this couple was without being given enough space to see it happen.
Basically it just felt like a step down from what I expected of the author.
Zack became the guardian of his 12-year-old brother after their parents passed away, which left him with no time for dating. Feeling guilty that Zack had put his life on hold to care for him, Eric decided to help find someone for Zack by placing an ad online. One respondent seemed like a great fit, so Eric replied. This was Tristin, who had previously convinced himself that he loved his partner and that the feeling was mutual. However, he eventually realized this wasn't the case and that he deserved better. As it turned out, both Zack and Tristin were weary of casual relationships and were seeking a lasting love.
This romance had me cheering for the two men to realize they were meant for each other, a belief even young Eric shared.
"Being in love with someone who also loved me back was an incredible thing."
This was a totally adorable novella. Zach was such an amazing brother to Eric. Maybe even too amazing since he basically neglected his own needs/wants in favor of raising him. I totally get wanting to be the best parent, but there definitely needs to be some balance so both brothers can be their best mentally. Their relationship was really sweet though regardless of Eric's meddling in his brothers dating life.
Tristan was an absolute lovebug. He was so patient with Zach and it was exactly what Zach needed in order for him to feel comfortable moving forward with their relationship. It definitely helped that Tristan included Eric in a lot of their meet-ups because it was proof to Zach he was well aware he came as a package deal. Not to mention a pack of nosey, but well intentioned friends. Speaking of Zach's friends, I'm intrigued about straight boy Austin and will be keeping an eye out for his story in You've Got Male!
I've never read a book by this author that I didn't really enjoy, but as much as I hate doing it, I just can't keep going with this one. It started out great. I was a big Sleepless in Seattle fan back in the day, and this was moving in a good direction. I loved how Zach and Tristan met, though I felt that Zach's brother Eric was allowed way too much leeway with regard to Zach's life. I also felt that as a twelve-year-old, he should've been punished in some way for certain things that he did. I get that his and Zach's parents died a couple of years before, and Zach was still navigating how to parent him, but this was a bit much a few times. Don't get me wrong. I loved Eric. He only wanted his big brother to be happy. Even so, what he did was careless and dangerous.
My biggest issue with this book was that I never felt Zach and Tristan together, though I did like Tristan. Zach was too 'back and forth' on pretty much everything, mainly having Tristan stay over. I get it. Really. But it went on way too long.
I could keep reading, but I won't. I may end up even liking it more. I'm not willing to take the chance. I don't rate my DNF books, and there's a big chance that I'd end up rating this one pretty low. Nothing against the author - like I said, I've loved everything of theirs I've read so far - it's just that these two guys just don't do it for me.
This story is a part of the Rom-Com Reboot series by the author, which I am already very excited about. The characters in this series are all so wonderful, I am looking forward to reading more stories in this series. This story is about Zach and Tristan, I enjoyed their story so much.
Zach has become a parent to his younger brother (Eric) after his parent's death and he has devoted his whole life to being there for Eric and forgetting about his own life. Tristan wants a serious relationship but all of his past boyfriends didn't want that. So he is looking for a serious relationship. After Eric decides to find a boyfriend for his brother, he posts about their story on a forum which is how he meets Tristan virtually. Initially, Zach never wants to meet Tristan because he is not looking for a relationship but they still chat online and he feels so free chatting with him and getting to know him; when they finally do meet Zach knows he wants Tristan in his life even when he doesn't know how because his whole focus has been Eric after his parent's death so he didn't want to Eric to feel like a second priority.
Zach and Tristan had beautiful chemistry, they were sweet, swoony and sexy at times. I loved how patient Tristan was with Zach even though his feelings for him were so much more. But once Zach figured out how to live his life with Tristan included in it, it was so beautiful to watch their relationship. And I loved how Tristan knew Eric was a package deal with Zach and still wanted to be there for both of them.
Overall I enjoyed this story so much and I highly recommend you to check out this book if you are looking for a short and sweet story.
* I received an ARC copy from Neon Rainbow Reviews and this is my honest review *
This is gonna be such a fun series! Classic rom-coms retold and this one was definitely a fun one! Based on the title, you can probably guess this one is based off of Sleepless in Seattle. We have Zach who has given up any form of social life to care for his brother, Eric, after losing their parents a few years ago. His priority is and will always be Eric. He can’t find it in himself to try and get out there to date. Lucky for him, his brother has other plans. Tristan can’t seem to find the right guy. Everyone he tries to date isn’t looking for a serious relationship. He wants to fall in love. And when he stumbles across Eric’s post about his big brother who deserves love, well that tugs at his heartstrings. He can feel that Zach is probably a good guy and with a bit of courage he reaches out. And thanks to some more meddling for a little brother, Zach and Tristan find themselves getting to meet and get to know one another and slowly fall in love. Such a fun, sweet story! You can’t help but love Tristan and Zach as you cheer for them to get together and find some well deserved happiness. Definitely for fans of all the classic rom-com movies.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Zach & Tristan's story was so sweet and a lot of fun to read. I was hooked on this right from the start and liked it all the way through. I'm now looking forward to the next stories.
This was a very enjoyable read. Zac and Tris are lovely and perfect together, while the adorable Eric added a lot of fun to the story. This was a sweet, low-angst read with heat and I highly recommend it.
Sexless in Seattle by D.J. Jamison is book 1 in a brand new series called “Rom-Com Reboot”. This book is based upon Sleepless in Seattle and I am here for it. Zach has been raising his twelve-year old brother Eric for the past two years. He has resigned himself to being dateless because he is too busy with work and Eric. He refuses to let anything come before Eric. Eric wants his brother to be happy so he posts on a social media site looking for ways to make his brother happy. He connects to Tristan who is inspired by a man who is mature and looking for more than a hook-up. Zach and Tristan strike up a friendship and eventual relationship though Zach holds Tristan at arm's length. I loved these two and was begging Zach to let Tristan in. I thought the fears that Zach had were realistic and made sense. When Tris came and took care of Zach when he was sick was such a great moment. I really, really enjoyed this one and am looking forward to the next one (based on “You’ve Got Mail”). Great beginning to a new series!
I love the concept of this series and this one hooked me from the get go. Zach is a sweetheart overwhelmed by responsibilities (& love) for his little brother and Tristan is someone looking and longing for love.
The little brother matchmaking adds great humour and a little extra stress for Zach but these two are perfect together. Great chemistry, fun times and humour mixed together for a great quick read. There's also a full cast of extras that will make you laugh and leave you curious for their stories.
A great start to a great concept and I look forward to what's up next!
Thanks to Neon Rainbow ARC Review, I received an advanced reviewer copy (ARC) for free. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Zach (22), is a coffee shop manager who’s raising his 12 year-old brother Eric. He had to drop-out of college when their parents died and his life revolves solely around his brother and his job. He doesn’t think that love could fit in his life. Then we have Tristan who is a bit older and tired of meaningless relationships. He wants love in his life. Hearing his story on some kind of Reddit thread, Tristan is drawn to Zach instantly. Zach is more reluctant, but with a meddling brother, they finally meet and get to know each other.
It was a really sweet story without unnecessary drama (internal or otherwise). It portrayed a great relationship development.
What a great theme for DJ Jamison's nest series - taking iconic rom-com movies and adding her own special magic, making them gay (of course) and giving us all the feels with all the fun!
I think Eric was definitely my favourite character - the kid behind the magic, if you were.. but Tristan and Zach were adorable in their own right and the book was a quick and fun read!
Sexless in Seattle by DJ Jamison is the story of two men, one who is so bogged down in all his responsibilities that he doesn’t think he has time for love, and the other who has had many relationships that didn’t work out but longs to find his forever one. Zach was only 20 when his parents died and he took custody of his 12 year old brother, Eric. He gave up his hopes and dreams to keep him with him, safe, and happy. He was now the manager of Roasted and between that and taking care of his brother and the house he was busy and content. Tristan was 26 and worked at a successful advertising firm. He had had several relationships that went nowhere and what he craved was stability and a family. When he was cruising posts online he came across one from a 12 year old boy talking about his older brother and all he had done for him and that he wanted him to find happiness too. This really struck Tristan and he wrote him back. The boy, of course, was Eric, and when Zach found out he texted Tristan to apologize but then they started a texting relationship but Zach wasn’t sure he wanted to take it farther. Then Eric struck again and acting as Zach online asked Tristan to meet him at the Space Needle on Valentine’s Day. After a few missteps they did meet and Tristan asked them to go out for ice cream. This started a series of dates that led to much more for each of them as they got to know each other and realize they were what the other needed. I really enjoyed this book. Parts of it were light hearted and parts serious but the underlying love was apparent throughout the story. Zach was so focused on taking care of Eric that he didn’t leave time for himself, which he realized he needed to do once he started dating Tristan. He was also scared that if they broke up it would affect Eric after all they had been through so he wanted to take it slow. Tristan was downhearted at the beginning of the story because he wanted to find his true love but remained hopeful once he met Zach and was happy to go as slowly as Zach wanted. Zach was also worried that he had never been with a man because of his responsibilities so early in life but Tristan eased his fears and they explored that side of their relationship with some really hot love scenes, even though they had to be worked around when Eric was home. I also liked how Tristan knew that Eric came first with Zack and he was part of a package deal. Their friends were also great, adding some fun with their get togethers, as well as good advice as they tried to help the couple out. And the ending was amazing as it led everyone back to the Space Needle for an epic conclusion to their love. I highly recommend this book, especially if you are looking for a story about a man who puts his family first finding love with another man who is looking for his forever family and is willing to do what it takes to get them.
