Je suis moins fan de ce tome (forcément avec les livres d'avant la barre était placée très haute) mais j'ai quand même passé un bon moment

Apparemment il faudrait mieux si je lis tout ces livres l’un après l’autre pour rien oublier de l’histoire, mais bon je voudrais plutôt savoir la suite ! Il y a assez des indices pour me rappeler des détails…. de toute façon j’étais confondu pour les sentiments que Gryf a pour Akitten (et quel nom en plus….l’équivalent de « un chaton » sans espace en anglais !), comme je croyais que Gryf aime Shimy de la même manière qu’elle l’aime. Mais au moins qu’on apprend la version bref de comment Gryf est tombé amoureux d’Akitten….sauf que ça n’explique pas pourquoi il n’aime plus Shimy comme copine ! (Au moins qu’il n’y a pas rien d’autre que j’avais oublié de leur histoire…)
Bon, l’histoire ici continue les aventures des Légendaires, qui se trouve en quête d’une Sheibah des Jaguarians qui essaie de retrouver les parties de la clé divin – elle les cherche de la rassembler pour l’utiliser à tuer tout les humains du monde afin de se venger. Mais les Légendaires sont à la poursuite d’elle, mission « simple » -- ou peut-être pas si simple. Amy, le démon qui forme le bras droit de Razzia, a aussi une vedette à poursuivre, et sa vedette pourrait compliquer les choses…
À propos de l’exécution de l’histoire : je trouve, quand je lis ces livres, qu’il y a beaucoup qui arrive dans l’histoire, mais que c’est aussi assez vite fait, et qu’il y a plusieurs lignes de l’histoire à suivre. Même que c’est bon d’avoir plusieurs histoires dans un livre, il faut mieux s’ils soient tous bien exploré, et je trouve que tel n’est pas toujours le cas. Une histoire arrive, puis une autre arrive pour le supplanter ou au moins de retarder l’évolution de la première histoire. Et/ou il y a des avancements des rapports entre les personnages, mais là on ne trouve pas qu’il y a eu assez de temps pour les adresser. Une partie de la raison pour tout ça est la limite des pages pour chaque tome, à peu près 46 pages seulement, ce que je peux comprendre, mais quand même je préférais qu’on laisse un peu plus de temps pour mieux explorer ces aspects. Aussi, j’ai trouvé que les retours en arrière arrive sans trop de préavis : l’histoire d’Amy est apparu de nulle part – mais au moins que c’était vite évident que c’était un retour en arrière considérant qu’on voit que Razzia n’a pas son bras droit pour la durée ; le retour en arrière qui m’avait ennuyé le plus était celle de Gryf et Akitten, comme l’histoire est arrivé de nulle part, et il m’a pris un moment de me rendre compte que les pages 31-34 était bien un retour en arrière ! Je me suis rendu compte après avoir lu quelques cadres à la page 31, mais ce n’était qu’à la page 34 qu’on découvre qui raconte cette histoire et à qui. Mais il n’y avait rien de visuel avec le style du dessin ou même les cadres pour indiquer qu’on va se trouver au passé pendant un bon moment ; c’était plutôt quand on lit que le frère de Gryf lui avais dit que les Jaguarians n’aideront pas les Légendaires à combattre Anathos… une bataille qui est déjà bien passé, que je me suis rendu compte qu’on a sauté vers le passé.
Typo: “Je n’ai ni le loisir ne l’envie…” – page 46 – Devrait être : "Je n’ai ne le loisir ni l’envie…”

There’s enough clues to remind me of the details anyways… Though I was confused by the feelings Gryf had for Akitten (and what a name… “a kitten” less the space!), as I thought Gryf loves Shimy in the same way she loves him. But at least we learn the short version of how Gryf fell in love with Akitten… except that doesn’t explain why he no longer loves Shimy as a girlfriend! (Unless there is something else in their story that I am forgetting…)
Well, the story here continues the adventures of the Legendaries, who find themselves on the search for Sheibah of the Jaguarians, who is trying to find the pieces of the Divine Key – she is searching for them to assemble the Key and use it to kill all of the humans in the world in order to get vengeance. But the Legendaries are on her trail, a “simple” mission – or maybe not quite so simple. Amy, the demon who forms Razzia’s right arm, also has a vendetta of her own, and her vendetta may complicate things…
In regards to the execution of the story: I find that when I read these books, that there is a lot happening in the story, but it is often quickly done, and that there are multiple storylines to follow. Even if it is good to have many storylines in a book, it’s better when they are each well-explored, and I find that this is not always the case here. One storyline starts, then another comes up to take over or at least set back the evolution of the first storyline. And/or there are advancements in the relationships between the characters, but not enough time is spent addressing them fully. Part of the reason for all of this is the page limit for each book, only about 46 pages, which I can understand – but at any rate, I would prefer if a little more time was spent on these aspects. Also, I found that the flashbacks happened without much warning – Amy’s history came out of nowhere, though at least I quickly realized that it was a flashback considering we see that Razzia did not have his right arm during it; the flashback which annoyed me the most was Gryf’s and Akitten’s, as the story came out of nowhere – it took me a good moment to realize that pages 31-34 were indeed a flashback. I realized it after reading a few panels on page 31, but it wasn’t until page 34 that we discovered who was telling the story to whom. But there were no visual cues neither in the drawing style nor in the panel to indicate that we were going to find ourselves in the past for a bit – rather, it was when we read Gryf’s brother saying that the Jaguarains would not help the Legendaires to fight Anathos -- a battle which had already taken place – when I realized that we had gone back into the past.

I liked it but it became a very entangled web of lies. Razz and Amy are changing.
Gruizel actually cheated/lied... so is really still one of the group because there is no I in team.

Je me suis enfin décidée à reprendre cette histoire.
Que j'adore d'ailleurs.
Mon personnage préféré reste (et restera à tout jamais) Shimy. Et il me tarde de lire la suite !

*Note: This review covers both books number 15 and 16, as the story in this series progresses in 2 book increments.*
An awesome addition to the Legendaire saga, 'Amour Mortel' and 'L'Eternite Ne Dure Qu'un Temps' bring to light not only what happened to Gryf during his missing 2 years of 'training', but also finally moves forward with the love story (triangle) that ties him to Shimy; as well as proving that the deities in this universe are far from infallible.
While continuing to build the mystical world of 'Les Legendaires', and fleshing out so many of the details that make his storytelling as engaging as it is, Sobral also seems to now be steadily building towards a final climactic showdown/endgame that not only builds anticipation, but also gives the series a much stronger focus to follow through on. That, and the continued proliferation of his sardonic sense of humor, means that this series is quickly becoming a particular joy for me to read. The 2-book format of the narrative also seems to have solidified itself a little more with this entry, with the first book in the duo being dedicated more to set-up and the second more to action - a formula that allows more space for both these goals to breath, and therefore also functions to enrich the story (a lot less clutter and a lot more follow-through in my opinion).
Happily, still a recommend for me.
