Eva
Cole Westbrook was the orchestrator of my most significant firsts – my first kiss, love, heartbreak, and regret. Following a harrowing event that left me broken, I've rebuilt myself, stronger and more resilient. The vulnerable girl who fell for Cole is gone, replaced by someone determined not to let him shatter her world again. Yet, resisting Cole's tempestuous pull proves more challenging than I ever imagined. He's a force of nature, equally captivating and destructive on his best and worst days.

Cole
Eva thinks she can escape our shared past, but she's mistaken. She’s not just a lost love; she’s my only love and I’m not about to let her slip through my fingers again. I’ve always been relentless, whether it's on the sports field or in chasing my dreams, and I play for keeps. Eva's no exception. My obsession might be intense, my need to protect her might seem over the top, but it’s all because she is mine. I’m ready to do whatever it takes, bend every rule, break down every barrier she puts up, to make her see we’re meant to be together.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Silverbrook University, Eva and Cole’s journey in ‘Broken Hearts’ is a raw and passionate exploration of love's ability to heal and transform. Their story, entwined with emotional and physical scars, is a testament to love’s enduring strength and the promise of second chances.

pi-Zap-10 🌺 𝐁R𝐎K𝐄N H𝐄A𝐑T𝐒 🌺 Is the second full length romance book within the (Silverbrook University) series by new to me author R.G. Angel. Spoken in dual perspectives. ❥Eva & Cole❥

After reading the previous book and falling in love with these close set of friends I couldn’t wait to dive back into this world. Their story takes you on a wild emotional rollercoaster of a ride with miscommunication, heartbreak and drama.

The last person Eva expected to run into was Cole, her first kiss, her first love, her first everything, even her first heartbreak.

Cole thought the hatred directed at him by Eva was due to him standing her up on Prom night back in highschool, he hasn't seen her since then, it was like she'd disappeared off the face of the earth, no one would tell him where she was.

But what really happened that night could've had a much worse outcome if someone didn't step in and rescue her, but it also left her unable to play the violin, irrevocably scarred inside and out, from going from having the world at her feet, to losing the very essence of herself, but like a phoenix rising she reinvented herself and came out stronger than ever.

As soon as Cole claps eyes on Eva he's going to fight tooth and nail to get her back again even if he turns into a classified stalker to do it.

''The small tattered pieces kept loving you.''

Safety warnings:
- No cheating
- No OM drama
- Slight OW drama
- Attempted su*cide
- Attempted s*xual assault
- Depression/trauma
- Fatphobic comments (not MMC)
- HEA

Even though this can be read as a standalone I highly advise everyone to read the first book in this series just so you can get a bigger picture of the side characters and even our MC's in this book and their interactions.

Cole and Eva have a tragic past that is filled with so much pain and misunderstandings. Both are still reeling with everything they experienced together and apart. We get to see what transpired between them to cause such a huge rift and its heart wrenching.

They both have a lot of unfinished business between each other. Eva figures out that things just are not what she believed, and Cole is heartbroken by events he was manipulated to believe.

There is just so much they have to overcome to eventually be able to move past the past and find peace for their future and their road was tough, but it was necessary.

A moment happened that was vague to the reader on purpose, but I just knew what had occurred and the SHOCK when it was revealed to Eva.

Cole was devastated when the truths were revealed, and I swear my heart broke for him. The scene was so intense.

Eva was amazing. Her internal battle was something we got to experience firsthand, and I swear there were a few moments where I just needed to take a small break from reading.

Cole's groveling lasted for much longer than I thought and even though his obliviousness was there, and he could have never known what occurred, his actions to prove himself to Eva were so desperately necessary.

Everything I have said is really vague since I do not want to spoil it too much. I really enjoyed it and the only reason this book has 4 stars and not 5 is because of some of the decisions Cole made and the ex-drama I hated.

Two things to mention:
- Max (a new character we met) definitely was perfect and he needs his own book! As well as his friends.
- Nessa and Liam, we got crumbs, but it was not enough. Really excited for their story!

happy Release Day

I hate that I ever trusted him, that I loved him, and most of all, I hate that a part of me still does. I hate the 'what ifs' and the 'could have beens', and above all, I hate myself for ever believing in a happy ending.

Broken Hearts is the second installment in the Silverbrook University series by RG Angel, an author who has quickly become one of my "immediate read" and am honored to be on her Beta/ARC team.

If you want a break from reading Alphaholes who are arrogant, cruel, bullies, fuck up and do not apologize but want a marshmallow-obsessive book boyfriend who will stop at nothing to get his girl then look no further.

⚜Genre: Contemporary Romance
⚜ Theme: Second-Chance Sports/College Romance
⚜ Targeted audience: New Adult
⚜ Characters: Cole, Eva or as I started calling them CoVa..and friends
⚜ Representation: plus-size h, learning difficulties
⚜ TW: attempted suicide - attempted sexual assault
⚜ tropes: miscommunication - female-rage - groveling - forced proximity- OW drama
⚜ POV: dual first person
⚜ spice 🌶🌶 🌶
⚜ rating: 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
⚜ standalone: yes, but it is best to read it in order of the series to understand the situation
⚜ Ending: HEA, and setting the mood for the next character book

meet Cole Westbroke, a fuckup who doesn't know at first that he is a fuckup and when he does tries to fix his fuckery, in a most swoon-worthy way.

meet his obsession, Evangeline Sinclair. an artist with a soul that goes through the suffering all artists go through trying her best to pick up the pieces and rise like a phoenix.

What I most loved about this book is how deep we go into Eva's mind and soul with Angel's words. We feel her turmoils, frustrations, rage, and perseverance. And believe me, don't be fooled by her innocent looks and petite frame, that girl has a lot of rage.

As with Cole, nothing brings me satisfaction than an arrogant man realizing how messed up he did and watching him being humbled.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: second chance, college
Angst: 😱😱😱1/2
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Flawed heroes are always my favorite, but psychotically over the top flawed heroes are 🚩🚩 chef's kiss, lol. Cole and Eva definitely have a complex past, but Eva is determined to put the past behind her and move forward with her life - even if it has to be at the same school as Cole. Cole done messed up and he has absolutely no idea how bad 🙈. He feels like she is the only person who has truly seen him and he has decided he wants to get her back - by any means possible.

This was such a fantastic read. I really loved both characters and I knew their story was going to be a doozy from what we were able to see in book 1. I thought Cole was the perfect ❤️. A bit of a sh!t stirrer. Definitely arrogant 🤣🤣. But completely all in for Eva. I loved how he really put the time in to get her back... sometimes a little misguidedly, but always with heart. And I love that she made him do it. I thought the book moved well and it easily held my attention to the end. This series has been really cute and I'm excited for the last book. Also, would LOVE to see books about Max and his friends... just sayin' :)

♡ Second chance
♡ Traumatic past
♡ College
♡ Kind of enemies to lovers
♡ Virgin / Celibate heroine
🚩no cheating or sharing

OW - his ex plays a big part in their seperation... hated her 😵

OM - he is jealous but she tells him later that she was with no other guy during seperation

* The author confirmed that he did NOT stay celibate during seperation 😭🚫😪

𝙀𝙫𝙖 - 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙚 🩷

She is such a sweet person that went through soo much 🥺

Eva is really a strong character and I was soo surprised that she was okay with giving him a second chance after everything 🤭👀

Her past is rough ( Check TW !! ) but she still was so positive 😻✨️🦋

𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙚 - 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙤 🩵

Hmmm I'm still a little unsure about him... In the end I loved him 🔥🤍🫂

But in the beginning I was mad and disappointed with his plan and how he handled the whole situation....

I loved that he growled so much because he really DID deserve it 🤞😍

Hated him when I found out that he was with OW during seperation.... He tells us the whole time that she is his everything but he couldn't keep it in his pants?? 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐤 🤐🤯💩

Pleassseeeeeee R.G Angel let Liam stay celibate or like let him be no manwhore🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

( Liam and Vanessas book is next & I'm already super excited 🦋🫂 )

The second book in the Silverbook University series, this is a second-chance romance with a flawed but devoted hero and a scarred yet strong heroine, and it’s a rollercoaster of angst and drama.

This is book #2 in the series, the story taking place at the same time as book #1, and then beyond. There is some character crossover, but nothing too spoilery, and while Eva and Cole’s tumultuous story was hinted at in the first book, you could read this as a standalone.

Eva is new to Silverbook University, starting a year late due to an accident which left her physically and emotionally scarred, and unable to pursue her dream of playing the violin. She has reluctantly accepted her fate, and is trying to get a fresh start when her past comes walking straight back into her life.

Cole and Eva were together in high school until they ended in a mess of betrayal and childish retribution. But from the moment Cole lays on Eva again, he knows this is his opportunity to get back the girl he still loves so desperately.

She became mine, and I, too, became so ardently hers … and even now that she doesn’t want me, I am still hers.

There’s such a murky past between these two, complicated by miscommunication on both sides. Eva is still furious at Cole, he doesn’t know why she’s so angry, and she won’t tell him. Eva is terrified of the pain she knows he can inflict and fiercely pushes him away, but that doesn’t stop Cole and his almost obsessive mission to win her back.

Cole crosses a lot of stalkery lines as he tries to reconcile with Eva, and some of his behaviour is downright creepy. To me, it felt more like obsession than love. We don’t see enough of their past to really set the scene for such an epic romance - pretty much the only part of their past we see is their stupidly immature breakup, so I wasn’t feeling the romance at all. And to be honest, given Cole’s actions in the past (even disregarding all that followed it), I probably would have run a mile from him as well.

He thinks he can control me, break me, but I’m not the same girl I once was. I’ve grown, evolved, and I won’t let him drag me back into the darkness.

They handled things badly. Their reconnection is also handled badly. They are a hot mess. But they’re young and can’t be expected to handle things maturely, and I was hooked on their story and needed to see how their story would play out.

As the truth of the past is revealed and they actually start talking, they’re able to reconnect on a personal level, and then comes the romance. It’s steamy and intense, and I was happy to see them so happy together. But there are still more secrets to be revealed and more challenges for them to overcome, and it’s a rocky road to their HEA.

I did enjoy this book. Admittedly, the relationship was angsty and all over the place, and not quite there with the feels for me, but I really liked Eva’s personal journey. It was well written, I loved meeting her Dad and her mentor, Max, and I enjoyed seeing her overcome her personal challenges, heal from the past and find her way forward with the Cole unquestionably by her side.

“Strength isn’t about never feeling weak. It’s about feeling those moments and pushing through anyway.”

As with the first book of the series, we continue to see glimpses of the weird dynamic between the third couple of the series – English soccer player, Liam and goth girl, Nessa – and I’m looking forward to seeing more of what’s going on there, and how their story unfolds.

3 stars.

~thank you author for the e-arc~

The writing in this one is better than the first, and it was also compelling as well. The characters here were more likeable, especially Evangeline.

I think my only problem is the ML, Cole. I just think he was forgiven way TOO FAST even tho it wasn't he who did it but it's like he's somewhat the connected focal point and that miscommunication trope that I hated. I really didn't like them together tbh. That's the reason why I couldn't give this a higher rating, the rating which I really want to give this. I just couldn't forgive him for that and will never.

Have you ever read a book that you can feel from your head to your toes? Cole and Eva’s story is a prime example of that, sucking you in from the first page and never letting go. We got hints at how intense their story would be in Broken Rivalry, and now we experience the full storm.

Eva is still overcoming a deep hurt, with the pain and scar on her hand a constant reminder of a night gone wrong. Yet despite the turmoil she feels, she holds her head high and is a steadfast and steady presence for her friends. She knows just how to make others feel better and is a balm for others. Eva is also highly intelligent and has a boundless passion for music—she lives and breathes it. She also is a strong individual who will not back down from a challenge, even when there are times when she just needs to process.

Cole is a star athlete, playful, full of witty banter, but also a looming presence. He puts 110% into the things he cares about, even pushing buttons and daring to cross some lines. We see that he feels ardently and will do whatever it takes to accomplish his goals. Yet we also see he is an endless well of emotion, hiding vulnerabilities and sometimes his real self from others. We also see how much he cares about his family and friends.

These two! As prefaced above, their story takes you on a rollercoaster of a ride. Eva and Cole have a deep history, a muddled past, and now a second chance. There are some moments that yank at your heart strings and the connection is palpable, bursting through the pages. Eva has always seen the real Cole and here she definitely gives Cole a run for his money, not easily being swayed but also battling against the rawness and certainty of her feelings for him. Cole meanwhile has much work to do to regain the trust and security he once provided to Eva. He recognizes when he oversteps, and will take a step back, but will not allow his fervor for her to die down. He defends her and becomes the source of her courage as the story continues and proves to us just how powerful love can be, no matter how messy, painful and difficult because with that comes endless joy. The two of them are end game, and as Nessa put it, the conclusion is a certainty even with all the surprises along the way. The story itself is definitely transformative.

Along the way, we also get moments of Poppy and Ethan’s story, as some events overlap from the prior book (which you should also definitely read if you have not!), and we continue to get hints of Liam and Vanessa’s. We also meet new characters, and shoutouts must be given the Max, who plays a key role in helping Eva and Cole to have that second chance even if he didn’t orchestrate it (will he have his own story? And maybe his fellow brethren?) well as Eva’s dad and Cole’s parents. As with the author’s other works, she has a way of creating and building a community of characters that you come to care about.

This review is long lol but I feel like it’s not enough to describe all the emotions this story invokes. Overall it’s definitely one of my favorite reads and I recommend reading it. I look forward to seeing Liam and Nessa’s story next.

Same author who wrote Her ruthless warrior, that one was better
This is an YA book , not my trope at all but still I’ve enjoyed it because the heroine didn’t want at all the Hero back, you can feel like she isn’t really interested in him and she wanted to move on… she doesn’t care about him
Hero is cruel and really uninteresting
Her male friend, a biker who saved her is wow!!! I wish for his own book although I would have love an age gap between them!

Cruel hero
Safish book
Not very romantic
Grovel mehhh
But she is strong, talented and smart!
The third book is out today, I’m interested in the next couple

What the hell did I just read?!
Yes, this was an ARC read, and I will not post this until the publishing day, because this book is not a 3 stars or higher type of book .
this book just got me frustrated.

I am okay with a few red flag but this book is full of them.

First, I don't get them, both of them
First Cole, what he was mad so he detched the LoVE of his life at the PRom to humiliated her. And the left with other girl! Who does that?! And that his friend tries to rape her, she hurts her self havily in the process, and the doesn't hear about it?! With all that money and power and connections?! And he is still very much in love with her, but he doesn't stop to date and sleep with other girls.
And than he sees her, and all the emotions come back.
She doesn't want anything to do with him, Who would, but he stalks her. steals the key of her house, enters uninvited and touches her things. And he has the nerve to feel hurt.
Stalks her some more, fuck her ( it felt more like rape, than love). Stalks he some more. And when he founds out the truth, he is like different persone.
All in love, and with sorries. Than he gets her drunk, and marries her...

And what does Eva do?! Just goes on with the ride...

Why the hell is she the a doormat?! He does what he pleases and she just puts up with it.

I am okay with the type of writing, but the story is not really my cup of tea. This book just made me angry.

When I read about this book, second chance romance, he falls first and hard, boy obssesed, I was hoping for a different kind of book. The Obssesed level in this book is off the chart. A creapy kind. Nope, nope, not for me.

And I'm out at 78%, I can't put myself through another minute of these two screaming idiots. The zero is repugnant, the things he's done to her, and there are many, drove the story crazy town. Her pathetic BBS and doormat issues weren't any better.

Highly disappointed with this one

I wrote this review for Saucy Reviews on Kinky Korner.
I have been dying to know what Eva and Cole’s story is, so this second book in the Silverbrook University series is so welcome. We were teased with a few snippets of Eva’s story in book one, Broken Rivalry, and in this book, we are taken back to the beginning again to get the full impact of when the characters see each other for the first time at college.

Holy moly, does my heart go out to Eva. She is a strong young woman, but even the strongest of us can say, “Enough!” Her character is so loving and giving toward others; she has been labelled the geeky violin girl throughout school, but what everyone missed seeing was her musical brilliance and creativity. I totally understand why she wants nothing to do with Cole, but in true Cole fashion, he bulldozers into her life once again.

Cole, on the surface, is an arrogant jerk who is very athletic and good-looking, and he knows it. He is all that, but it hides the vulnerabilities that lie close to the surface. His love for Eva is powerful and he makes no secret of it. He is one extremely determined young man, that’s for sure.

This second chance at love romance certainly has a few darkish spots but is written very well. The serious content in the story is not sugarcoated but also not graphic. It also has some terrific humour that balances things, especially with Cole, who can be quite funny.

I completely enjoyed this book and now look forward to Nessa and Liam’s book; with some tantalising hints, I am very intrigued.

Broken Hearts , the second book in the Silverbrook University series literally broke my heart before putting it back together. R. G. Angel did an excellent job with this one and I think that Eva and Cole's story is a lot different and even better than Poppy and Ethan's. The girl gang of strong survivors are back and I loved their friendship and support for each other. A lot of Cole's character is explained , his flaws are highlighted. He's crushed when he fully understands his involuntary involvement in ruining Eva and from that moment he's decided to fix his wrongdoings and to redeem himself. Eva is strong, smart, a true fighter and survivor. I loved it how she was working on bettering herself and overcoming the past in order to have a future. She's talented, artistic and beautiful inside and out and she's Cole's total opposite . Cole is more analytical, calculating and with a temper . And that reflects in the way how he deals with the people who wronged not only Eva but him . And I loved it what he did for Eva to redeem himself. I didn't expected that plot twist but I loved it. And that's when I was truly impressed by Cole's thoughtfulness and understanding of Eva's character. And those two were perfect for each other. They have insane chemistry and Cole behind closed doors had such a dirty talking mouth. Was so happy for them to find the kind of love they witnessed while growing up. That epilogues , yes two epilogues , were perfect. And those tidbits about Liam and Nessa. I can't wait because it would be a one of a kind story with a lot of surprises. Because Nessa keeps a lot of secrets about herself that will come to light in her story.

Thanks to Midnight Readers Book Promotion for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of this book.

Broken hearts is book 2 in the Silverbrook university series ~ An absolute MUST read & page turner that held me captive from start to finish.

"This series is R.G Angel at her
ABSOLUTE BEST! Eva & Cole stole my heart from the very first page. I could not put this book down. Broken hearts is emotional and captivating and swoony all at the same time. R.G tore my heart out--but in the end she put it back together and left me wanting more. These characters will take you on a ride of redemption and forgiveness.

This is a story of healing & forgiveness. A tale of finding yourself again when you thought all was lost.

description
𝐁𝐄𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐄 I even finished reading 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐲 (𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 #𝟏), I was 𝐀𝐋𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐘 super 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 excited to get my hands on Cole and Eva’s story, 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 (𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 #𝟐), especially after those 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒈𝒍𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒔𝒆𝒔 (nothing major — just little snippets) into their past in book one (𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒃𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒆, 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒅𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒂 𝒇𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝑷𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏’𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕).

Eva and Cole have a 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 past — one full of 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 and 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒄 𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔. Their story was an emotional rollercoaster — leaving you feeling raw and exposed (so be prepared). There was just something about these characters and R.G. Angel’s storytelling that captivated you until the very end…

Eva was once a talented violinist on the fast track to attend Julliard after graduation, but thanks to a "𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒌" — one that Cole didn’t realize would have such dire repercussions — she was left with physical (and emotional) scars that ended her career (before it even began). Cole was a star athlete on his high school soccer team (where Eva’s father was the coach) and 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒍𝒚 dating Eva. When (he thinks) she reveals an embarrassing secret of his, he decides to get revenge at prom and embarrass her (what he didn’t know was his prom “date” had additional plans — plans that caused her dreams to crumble and her to disappear completely from his life).

This story was utterly perfect — I read the majority of this story while working (in between calls) and then stayed up to finish the rest of it when I went to bed that night. R.G. Angel drew me right in with this story and I was instantly hooked. Eva and Cole’s story had some unexpected twists and turns. Absolutely 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐃 the back-and-forth banter between them and how the author beautifully intertwined their past and present to give us the 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐅𝐄𝐂𝐓 story!

Okay, the first one was not great, but it was entertaining. I appreciated it as a fun piece of media. This one? Far less entertaining and worse writing. The plot holes continue to grow, the characters get more delusional, the repetition of whole paragraphs and concepts gets worse, and the skipping of dialogue negatively impacts coherence.

I was enjoying this series as something light and easy to get through. Unfortunately, the poor execution now prevents any enjoyment of the story. In summary:

• That's NOT a prank
• The girls are not good friends to each other. Especially Poppy.
• This was way too long for something that should have been resolved in 20 chapters.
• Cole is not a good dark romance, love interest.
• Cole's mom is a two-dimensional ditz, and his father is a judgmental unsupportive jerk.
• Too much focus on the side couples. I get they're getting a book, but I shouldn't feel like this is their book and not the main characters'.

Time will tell if I read the last book (I hate Liam even more after this one) just to wrap this up in my head.

Universal

Cole is the last person Eva ever wanted to see or deal with again. He's the guy who obliterated her heart and her dreams, so why the heck is he determined to be in her life again?! Well, it doesn't matter what he wants, because what she wants is to be free of his relentless presence. If he really wants to be in her life, have that second chance, well, he'll have to work his ass off for her forgiveness, forgiveness she may never be able to give him.

Eva and Cole had such a complicated history, full of pain and betrayal, so it was only natural that their present be filled with the same. I love how much Eva had grown since then though, how she stood strong, demanded he work for her heart again. She knew she deserved for him to prove himself, and didn't let him give her less than. Cole's the kind of guy who, once he sets his mind on something (someone), he never lets up, so there was no way Eva wasn't going to be his, even if he had to go through a crazy amount of manipulation and groveling to claim her. I'm not always a fan of angst, but it seems fitting here, and by the end, I was really happy they finally figured things out, found healing with each other, and realized they could have the happiness they'd always wanted.

So good!

Broken Hearts is the second installment in the Silverbrook U Series and can be read as a standalone.
This is Cole Westbrook and Evangeline (Eva, Angel) Sinclair' story.

If you've read Broken Rivalry (SU #1), you are already aware that Cole and Eva share a past, a very difficult and tragic one that brought pain, suffering and a lot of hurt, in different ways for each one, but with the same intensity, a time that could have been beautiful (and it was for a short period) but turned out destructive and soul wrecking.

I absolutely loved their tale!
Angsty, emotionally impactant and with very small chances of a HEA, Cole is decided to get in the present what he had in the past and Eva to forget the most calamitous time of her existence and follow through with her life and healing.
This is a story about envy, jealousy and covetousness, its terrifying consequences, a misguided act of revenge, the almost hecathomb of a life, the loss of dreams, innocence and one' self.

Cole is a good guy at heart but wiling to touch the grey line of morality to get what he wants, explosive, cunning and completely obsessed with the only girl that got in his head and as deeply in his heart, he'll do anything to have her back in his arms, his bed, his life, forever.
He knows for a fact that he hurt Eva, he just doesn't know how profoundly, not understanding why she disappeared completly of their town and his life.
One year later, ready the claim her once and for all, he's not even shy or deterred about it.

Eva knows what cost her having trusted too much, loved too much and dreaming high. She lost it all, in a blink of an unfortunate moment that changed her life irreparably, almost, barely survived, but fights everyday for the best future she can achieve and the certainity of never again. She's happy being at College and with the best girls as roomates she could’ve ever wished for, but still reserved and secretive of her past.

Dramatically complex, active, reactive, behaviorally explosive at times, almost detached at others, the narrative unfolds step by step in a symbiotic dance between Cole's relenteless pursuit, dubious means of attainment, with all his might and heart against Eva's resolve to keep her barriers strong and unyelding, stay clear of his vicinity, his mind and the feelings that still linger, deep inside.

Internally conflicted, but wanting to experience again the bond of pure, undiluted and decadent abandon, through tests and trials, backs and forths, defiance, provocation, incandescent trysts and final yeldings, will our protagonists be capable of restoring what was once irrevocably only theirs?

With a great slew of secondary characters that are adjuvants but, most of all, advisors, protectors and fierce defenders, this is also a great story of family, friendships, present, future, learning and healing, love in all its expressions, fronts and dimensions, love that conquers all!

And who would've guessed Vegas could be something fun, definitively real and with forever in the horizon?

Brilliant!

4.25stars--BROKEN HEARTS is the second instalment in RG Angel’s contemporary, new adult SILVERBROOK UNIVERSITY erotic, romance series. This is twenty year old Cole Westbrook, and nineteen year old Evangeline ‘Eva’ Sinclair’s story line. BROKEN HEARTS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Some of the events of BROKEN HEARTS run parallel to, and cross over with the events of book one BROKEN RIVALRY.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Eva and Cole) using present day and memories from the past, BROKEN HEARTS follows the second chance relationship between our story line couple. Eva and Cole were high school sweethearts but perceived betrayal pushed at the raw edges of heart break, and in the ensuing aftermath, Eva lost everything and more. Fast forward to present day, Eva and Cole attend the same university, a surprise to our story line hero. Desperate to reconnect with the woman he still loves, Cole makes every attempt to both destroy and avenge our story line heroine. What ensues is the rebuilding but tempestuous relationship between Eva and Cole, and the potential fall-out as the past refuses to let, once again taking aim at our story line couple.

The world building crosses over with book on in which we get a few glimpses of Ethan and Poppy’s struggling relationship. Along with her roommates Poppy and Vanessa, we are up close and personal with the trauma from the past, and the ongoing betrayal at the hands of the boys they once loved.

The relationship between Cole and Eva is one of second chances; a rebuilding romance in which Cole is oblivious to the truth, and Eva struggles with her attraction to a man who all but destroyed her life. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include the return of Poppy and Ethan, as well as the struggling relationship between Vanessa and Liam. We are introduced to Poppy’s father, Cole’s parents, and the requisite evil that refuses to let go.

BROKEN HEARTS is a story of betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, forgiveness and acceptance, family and love. The character driven premise is emotional and dramatic; the romance is spirited and moving ; the characters are animated, real and haunted.

𓏲🗒️ꜝֶָ֢ ʾʾ review ⤵︎

i pleaded for a book like this to save me from my book slump and my prayers were HEARD.

i have so much to say and so little words to appropriately encapsulate just how tragically beautiful this story was. for me, this is one of those stories that i’m sure will stick with me in a time of desperate searching, already scrolling through the pockets of life-saving advice loaded in this book that i highlighted for safe-keeping. if you’re looking for an emotional, angsty read topped with overwhelming romance, devotion, and healing, this book will truly be the one for you!

i personally resonated so much with Eva’s mental health struggles, even in moments of absolute absence and plummets into darkness, i easily found a lot of companionship in the way she dealt with her trauma (good or bad). i was immediately enraptured by her sweet heart and soul, the strength in seeking help and putting herself first, as well as making space for forgiveness even when it was terrifying. at times, stubborn was the correct word to describe her, but it also allowed space for well-deserved groveling from Cole.

in the beginning of this book (which feels like lifetimes ago i realize now, noticing just how long this story is) our main guy of the hour — Cole Westbrook — was painfully laughable. i probably shouldn’t laugh at his absolute unhingeness and complete lack of awareness, but i couldn’t help it, he immediately peaked my interest in terms of character development and erratic obsession over Eva from the very beginning.

i was taken aback by how insistent and overwhelmed with need Cole had for Eva. it was overflowing in every direction whenever he insisted the universe had something to do with his second chance with her and it sincerely soothed a spot in my heart. this book was just endless romance and heavy, passionate worship of their mind and soul. i genuinely couldn’t stop the tears and loud squeals whenever Cole or Eva flowed through beautifully tragic words of devotion for each other!

in the end, i was more than thrilled and honestly RELIEVED to see them grab onto their second chance together and seize the day. i absolutely adored them together and was incredibly amazed with the fluid writing and care in each page.

this is my first R.G. Angel book and it definitely won’t be my last! ♡

small mentions —
• LOVED the girls so much !
• eva’s dad made me sob out of no where and i’m still unpacking that lol
• max, blaze, sawyer — #needthat

4 1/2 stars

Main characters - Eva and Cole
Tropes- lovers to enemies to lovers, past trauma, college, sports, ALPHA/ possessive MMC, curvy FMC, strong FMC, opposites attract.

Cole and Eva have quite the history. Cole was on the soccer team that Eva's dad coached back in HS. They were always drawn to each other even though they couldn't be more different. Eva the Uber talented Violinist with dreams of attending Juilliard and Cole, the athlete who may or may not be a little unhinged. Cole had a learning disability and Eva was helping him work through it and get through school to graduation. One day Cole was told Eva did something that he just couldn't forgive. So, he decided to get back at her. What he didn't realize was that his little stunt would take everything from her. Eva ends up starting college a year later than planned and runs into Cole. She DISPISES the ground he walks on & wants nothing to do with him. Cole on the other hand is determined to do whatever necessary to get his girl back.

I knew Cole was going to be unhinged, but he definitely surprised me. He took unhinged to a whole other level. I found myself giggling at him. He was also top tier shit stirrer. e When Eva's story came to light, though it was incredibly vague I was so devastated for her. My heart hurt for Cole as he look on the whole blame and was willing to do ANYTHING to fix it, to prove to Eva that he was not that person. They had to move mountains to move past what happened, to forgive and to heal trauma, but it was definitely needed. I was happy to see Cole grovel, to win Eva back and I was happy to see that she MADE him work for it. She wasn't going to easily forgive him, especially because of what she lost. I am so glad that at the end of the book, theu both were able to find true happiness. The ending was perfection! I LOVE THIS SERIES AND CANNOT WAIT TO READ Liam and NESSA's story next!

Since the moment this author told me that she was writing this series, I knew that I was going to love it as much as I love her other books.
Everyone knows that I love Mafia books, I'm obsessed with them and this new series wasn't that genre.
But coming from her, I knew that I was going to love it and I sure did.
R.G. Angel knows how to capture our attention with just the blurb.
Her books are amazing and I hope you can give her a chance.
Broken Hearts is her latest release and it's the second book from the Silverbrook University series and explores the lives of Cole and Eva.
But I need you to read book 1 first. You'll thank me later.
These two knew each other for a while. They were in love with each other and thought that they would be together forever until an event made her disappear and now, they are in the same school again.
Cole is this troublemaker, the one without a filter, and Eva is this sweet girl with a past hunted by a tragedy.
I could stay here and tell you more about them but I refuse to spoil the story.
I hate it and I won't do it so you will need to read it.
What I can say is that so much is about to happen that will make you stay glued to the book until it's over.
I'm telling you this from experience. Once I was able to grab this precious book, I didn't want to put it down and if I'm being honest, I didn't want it to end.
I'm not gonna lie, there were parts of the book that I wanted to murder someone... Jesus... but then there were others that I wanted to hold them and promise better days.
This book resembles a bumpy rollercoaster ride and you need to grab a few tissues and get ready for the ride.
I loved that she was able to interconnect this book with the first one because some scenes were completed in this new book.
Overall it was another amazing book that everyone should read.
Amazing R.G. Angel. You rock lady.
