The author had some good thoughts on managing money from a biblical perspective. As a devotional, though, it isn't all that inspiring. The author has a rambling style, which he refers to as having a conversation with the reader as if they were talking over a cup of coffee. This, of course, leads to a lot of informal words and phrases. A few of the entries are sparse on scripture or have no scripture at all. This wasn't a total waste of time, but I found myself wishing for more.
This book snapped me back into the reality that it does not matter how much money I have in this moment because it is not my money but God’s money and I must steward it well. Reading this book helped me feel at ease in my current financial situation because of all the gentle biblical reminders of God’s promises and practical guidance on how to stand on those promises.
Excellent devotional for understanding stewardship.
I really enjoyed this devotional, it was written in a easy, conversational style but made solid points. I especially appreciate the author’s honesty about his own journey with money and that he keeps a strong Biblical foundation without being preachy.
Loved the way he has you look at stewardship and giving. New way of thinking about Gods money! I can't wait to read his next book and listen to the podcast!
This book is all about changing your mindset around money. There are plenty of books with all the particulars of the how-to manage your money, but not a lot of books about changing the way you think about money. Even for that reason alone it makes this book worthwhile to read. And like it or not, money and your mindset around it, affects every person.
Mr. Lotich shares how God changed the way he thinks about money. The authenticity and openness were refreshing and never did I sense even a hint of any condemnation in this book.
He also shares new ways to look at familiar scriptures and lots of wisdom, plain and simple.
Overall there was a very positive tone, even almost joyful and I found the bite-sized chapters (divided into 31 days as a devotional) to be very convenient to read.
One point stood out to me and it is that it’s all God’s money and we are merely stewards. He talks about stewardship quite a bit so if you could use more information on that topic I definitely recommend this book for you.
This book is not loaded with a lot of particulars in the how-to manage your money area, but there were lots of general suggestions and lots of different topics were addressed such as, discontentment, stewardship, debt, tithing, budgeting, trust and giving.
A couple of quotes I enjoyed that were included in the chapter on money quotes were:
“It is possible to give without loving, but it is impossible to love without giving.” Richard Braustein
“You can everything in life that you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” Zig Ziglar
Since every person handles money in some form or another and there are precious few books dealing with a biblical mindset of money, I really recommend this book to every Christian!

Bob Lotich has written a great 31-Day Devotional for managing money. He covers many different topics from emergency funds, tithing, giving and setting goals to list a few. He tells readers it is not money you are truly after and that true satisfaction comes from God not money. One of my favorite chapters is the one on goal setting and the importance to list goals that appear unattainable in your eyes.
This is a great book for college students on up. It is a great book for learning how to think about money and what its role should be in your life. Also a great reminder for older people also. It is easy to get off track in your thinking about money and this serves as a great plumbline.
This book is both a devotional and a self-help book. It backs up its suggestions with plenty of scripture. It is so to-the-point and easy-to-read that anyone, regardless of age, should be able to read and understand it.
There are 31 financial topics--one for every day of the month. They are relavant to us all. The sections are short.
I appreciated the authors insights in this book. I'm in the middle of making some financial decisions and a number of scriptures he referenced were exactly what I needed to hear.
