Ima try to make this short: Man this is still one of the most refreshing reads EVER in my humble opinion. It’s such a fast paced read with some awesome character moments. Barry Allen is back again in the spotlight as the Flash and man does he go through some rough patches through this volume ALONE. I love when writers take the main protagonist through an emotional roller coaster throughout their run, It makes me so much more invested into the character. I loved his supporting cast with Iris, Wallace, and of course the return of WALLY WEST (the GOAT Flash haha).

The new villains also that Joshua Williamson (writer) adds to the flash mythos is FANTASTIC, especially GodSpeed who was super terrifying and I want MORE OF. Of course you have Carmine Di Giandomenico doing a majority of the artwork in here and also the awesome Howard Porter, one of my favorite flash artists. Both of their art styles match the story well. I really enjoyed this. I really miss the rebirth era of DC. Still so refreshing and fun. Some dope heartfelt moments in this omni. I also love the inner dialogue Joshua writes for Barry, so relatable. Can’t wait for all of this to be collected.

Ended on an absolute cliffhanger! The only thing taking away from this volume is the Death Metal tie-in, and then there's only two issues of the last story arc, which got interrupted by the tie-in. Other than that, this book has moved the Flash up the list of my favorite characters.

Joshua Williamson truly understands the flash to his core and expands in the mythos of the Scarlet speedster, taking him to a new level the character never dared run to.

So yeah?

This is a book of varying enjoyment. It starts out really strong. Then moves on to an okay middle but the build back up at the end is ruined with the inclusion of metal issues and a Christmas special that add nothing to the story.
So while I really enjoyed the main story (mostly the return of Wally and Godspeed stuff). The book left me feeling disappointed at the end.
I hope the next volume is laid out better.
Sometimes it’s not the best idea to just include everything in release order.
