Sometimes, love is waiting in the most unexpected of places.

Zeke Cross is a big city guy who finds himself living in the smallest town on the face of the earth, running an auto repair shop with his best friend. Not just running, but owning. He’s not used to sleepy little towns. He craves noise, excitement, and people. And yet, he’s grown to love the town of Huckleberry Bay, and the people who have welcomed him into the fold. Almost everyone has been kind and accepting of the outsider.

Everyone except Cherry Dubois.

Cherry is a small town girl, and she misses the sleepy community from her childhood. Now, her home is overrun by move-ins, who seem hell-bent on bringing big city ideals to her little town, and ruining what she’s always had. Her neighbor, Zeke, is the most annoying of all, with his loud music and arrogant attitude. How is she supposed to think when he’s around? Sure, he’s handsome, but that almost makes it worse.

Then Cherry needs Zeke’s help, and she finds out that the big city guy isn’t all that bad, especially when he has his hands on her and makes her forget all the reasons why she doesn’t like him. But at the end of the day, will she be able to trust this man to stay for good, or will her worst fears come true?

I love the the sleepy small town setting of Cherry Lane, for a sweet love story. Huckleberry Bay is that quaint locale that gives that feeling of being at home, cozy, friendly and welcome like a warm apple pie. Zeke and Cherry seem to be at total odds with their perspectives on what home life means but Cherry soon can’t overlook Zeke’s warming ways especially when she’s in his arms. Their initial differences and back and forth dialogue draws you in but when the sparks start to fly you know they were meant for a steamy love story.

Will they be be able to put aside their differences and be together? Well, you just need to grab a copy to find out!

This novella is a wonderful peek into Kristen’s beloved Huckleberry Bay series.

Another great little nugget from Kristen Proby!!

I love these novellas that she writes for series. This book can be read as a standalone but accompanies her Huckleberry Bay series.

We get a small glimpse at Zeke and Cherry in the other books in this series but this story dives into their relationship. Truthfully the only bad thing about this story was I wish it was a full length novel!! I feel there was so much more to their story, but I am happy with the story we did get!

If you have read other Kristen Proby books then you will want to pick this one up too. Otherwise this is a great place to start on your journey of her books!!

I loved Cherry and Zeke's story! I loved the Huckleberry Bay series and was so happy to come back for these two. They had plenty of tension in book 3 of the series, so I was excited for their novella. It did not disappoint! Both Cherry and Zeke have strong personalities so it was no surprise they butted heads. The chemistry between them was evident and it was so fun once they gave in. Whether you're a Kristen Proby fan or new to her, you will enjoy this novella!

3.75stars-CHERRY LANE is a contemporary, adult, stand alone novella (#3.5) set in the author’s HUCKLEBERRY BAY romance series. This is pre-school teacher / candle maker Cherry Dubois, and mechanic Zeke Cross’ story line. CHERRY LANE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Zeke was first introduced in book one LIGHTHOUSE WAY.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Cherry and Zeke) CHERRY LANE follows the acrimonious relationship between Cherry and Zeke. Approximately one year earlier, Zeke Cross moved to Huckleberry Bay to work with his best friend Wolfe Conrad but Zeke never expected to make an enemy out of his new neighbor,a woman who stirs something deep within our story line hero. Fast forward to present day, Zeke is still on the outside looking in with his neighbor Cherry Dubois. From the outset, Cherry’s nose has been out of joint, and she is taking her frustrations and anger out on her new neighbor Zeke. Zeke has no idea what he did to deserve the vitriol spewed by our story line heroine but Cherry is about to need more Zeke’s help when things don’t go well at home. What ensues is the building but struggling relationship between Zeke and Cherry, and the potential fall-out as misunderstanding threaten to split our couple apart.

The world building focuses on the building relationship, a relationship that struggles with Cherry’s questionable attitude and rude behavior. Not only is she beyond rude to our story line hero but often towards the people in his life.

The relationship between Zeke and Cherry begins acrimoniously is awkward and takes approximately one year before Cherry is will to make amends, amends in the face of a potential disaster at home. Zeke is willing to give Cherry a chance but has no idea as to why Cherry is so reluctant to give him a chance. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

The secondary and supporting characters are familiar and fun. We are reintroduced to Wolfe and Luna (Lighthouse Way) ; Sarah and Tanner( Fernhill Lane); as well as Montana, Amryllis Lovejoy, and Indigo

CHERRY LANE is a fast paced, quick read focusing on anger and jealousy, forgiveness and friends, acceptance and love. The premise is engaging and edgy; the characters are dynamic and animated but our heroine’s attitude is questionable and rude; the romance is tender and encouraging.

I was very excited for this book and Zeke and Cherry’s story. These two are constantly sparring with each other pretty much from when they first met, and they have MAJOR chemistry which you know neither will admit. The towel encounter between them was funny and sexy and definitely opened Zeke’s eyes towards Cherry in more than an annoying neighbor kind of way. I wouldn’t necessarily expect a romance between them but once they decided to play nice, they definitely complimented each other. I also liked that Zeke is kind of a fish out of water in the small town of Huckleberry Bay (not Huck Bay), but I loved how he really appreciates his group of friends that he’s made since he came to town. When Zeke and Cherry made their debut of sorts at the gala everyone was interested in seeing them together but unfortunately comments were made that Cherry didn’t know about and Zeke made an amazing offer to Cherry which she misinterpreted, and they had an argument and Zeke sent her away because he needed space. Of course, a good girl’s night out with plenty of opinions helped Cherry see the error of her ways and she talked everything out with Zeke. I really enjoyed how this book ended and I most definitely want to see more of Zeke and Cherry and I’m also wondering if we’ll see anything between Indigo and Montana, a possible romance. There is something underlying between those two. One of my favorite quotes from this book is, “We might dislike each other, but the chemistry . . . it’s almost mean.” Great story!!!

I just binge read the first 3 books in Kristen Proby’s Huckleberry Bay series and was thrilled to see Cherry Lane had released this week. Having enjoyed the full length books, I was set to dive in to see what Ms. Proby had in store for Zeke and Cherry and she did not disappoint.

This was a short but sexy, enemies to lovers story and I loved how after thoughtfully helping Cherry through an incident, Zeke just decided he was tired of their contentious relationship and tired of fighting the pull he felt towards her.

Turns out Zeke is a big old teddy bear and I kind of loved that; I mean throughout this series he’s always been kind, thoughtful, and quick to help his friends but with Cherry in his life we see just how sweet he can be. Cherry on the other hand had a bit of a chip on her shoulder and it turns out she has her reasons and I was surprised but also happy she let Zeke in on why she is rigid and works as hard as she does.

They have chemistry in spades, and as they spend time together it is obvious their feelings are growing. That’s not to say it’s all smooth sailing, but the both realize they need to communicate better to prevent misunderstandings.

I loved seeing the couples from past books as well as other characters that have been featured briefly throughout this series and hope we get to spend more time in this fictional town on the Oregon coast.

Cherry Lane
A novella in the Huckleberry Bay series
Zeke and Cherry

If you’ve read the series, you’ve met Zeke. He moved to Huckleberry Bay with his buddy Wolfe. They’ve opened a much needed garage on the out skirts of town.
I loved him. He was a bit oblivious to his actions, thus royally ticking off his neighbor. Once she points out all of his flaws, he does better. And goes out of his way to be nice to his grumpy neighbor.
Cherry was a new character. She works full time at the preschool, and in her off time she works her passion job. Making and selling candles, bath bombs and other good smelling things. She, I had a hard time liking. Even she points out that she’s not sure why people like her. She’s snippy, grouchy and just downright rude at times. She grew up being the “parent” in the family. Money was always an issue. Now as an adult she’s a penny pincher.
The one thing they seem to have in common is chemistry. And when hot water becomes a problem, they wave the white flag and discover just how much they actually like each other.
It’s a short story, so naturally everything moves quickly. I would have loved more of their year of frustration. It was just a time jump and an explanation.
It’s told in dual points of view. No cheating. They work everything out and get together in the end.
It is a cute series. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it.

Zeke moved to Huckleberry Bay after his best friend Wolfe was no longer able to race cars anymore, so they decided to open a high end garage together. Zeke moves in the condo next to Cherry Dubois and from the minute they meet, they do not get along. Cherry likes her peace and quiet and Zeke is none of these things; he plays loud music, he parks his car like a crazy person and Cherry is absolutely attracted to him. One night, after her water heater breaks, Cherry goes next door to ask Zeke for some help and they come to an understanding. The chemistry between Zeke and Cherry is off the charts and all they needed to do was tear each other's clothes off which they do. I like that for the next several weeks, they get to know one another better, continue sleeping together and Cherry kind of moves in with Zeke. They do go through a tiny rough patch because Cherry was a bit stubborn and Zeke came on too strong concerning a particular subject but they worked through it. I want this series to continue because Montana and Indigo have their own thing going on and I wanna know more. But I did enjoy this enemy to lovers story because Zeke and Cherry were super cute and I want more stories about Huckleberry Bay.

This novella was the perfect short story. Cherry and Zeke had me laughing out loud and wanting couch snuggles with hot cocoa. This is my first story by Kristen Proby, and ARC from 1001 Dark Nights. It was a fabulous introduction to Kristen's world of Huckleberry Bay.
Cherry loves her little town and routine. She doesn't like change, and that's exactly what Zeke brings to Huckleberry Bay: change. Longing for the ocean view, she keeps her heart guarded, not wanting to let anyone in. I really liked how she came to Zeke and overcame her insecurities.
Zeke keeps it entertaining, but you can tell at his core that he wants to care for Cherry and take care of her in a partner-for-life kind of way. All he wanted was to see Cherry reach her dreams and goals.
For a novella, Kristen packs a lot into this story. I definitely want to read more of her novels and meet the rest of the characters in Huckleberry Bay. This story has that small-town, cozy romance vibe that will leave you in a feel good mood. Definitely five stars for me, I could see myself reading this one again just for fun.

5-star Review of Cherry Lane (Huckleberry Bay #3.5) by Kristen Proby

Having read and loved the first three books in Kristen Proby’s latest Huckleberry Bay series I could not wait to jump in to Cherry Lane, Zeke Cross and Cherry Dubois’ story and although not a long book, the story was riveting.
It was wonderful to be back in Huckleberry Bay as I loved stories set in small towns. Zeke is not used to small towns, he’s a city guy through and through and yet he finds himself owning and running an auto repair store much to his surprise.
There is something about Zeke that gets under Cherry’s skin and we all know that there is a fine line between love and hate. However, when Cherry needs Zeke’s help, he is there for her and she realizes that there is more to the man than she initially thought.
Can Zeke convince Cherry to take a chance on him and their blossoming relationship? I loved the journey these two embarked on as they truly went from adversaries to friends to lovers.

I love my visits to Huckleberry Bay and I was excited to hear we were getting a novella introducing us to Cherry Dubois and Zeke Cross. This was a quick read but it was entertaining and it packed a mighty punch.
Zeke has just moved to Huckleberry Bay anf he is Cherry’s new neighbour who happens to have purchased the ocean view apartment she was waiting to come on the market right from under her……to say they start off on the wrong foot would be an understatement.
Living in a small town in new to Zeke and getting under Cherry’s skin is easy to do but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have feeling for the beauty across the hall……
So can can he convince her to give him a chance. One click now to find out. This was a wonderful read with great characters, witty banter and some seriously hot chemistry. A great addition to the Huckleberry Bay Series that i highly recommend to all romance lovers.

I loved the small town vibes of this novella which is set in Huckleberry Bay where Zeke, a big city guy, moves to in order to run an auto repair shop. The change in speed from his usual lifestyle is a shock for Zeke and matters are made worse when he meets his neighbour Cherry and the two do not hit it off. They constantly argue and she pesters him about all the things he does that annoy her, until their mutual attraction overrides any bad feelings they have towards each other.

This was such a quick read and I would love to read more about Zeke and Cherry and dive into the town of Huckleberry Bay as this was my first book by Kristen, and judging by how I liked this one it definitely won’t be my last!

Thank you to @1001darknights_blueboxpress and @kristenproby for the opportunity to read this novella, all opinions are my own.

Cherry Lane, a novella that is part of the Huckleberry Bay series, is a short but sweet story about neighbors, Cherry and Zeke. Cherry makes an immediate judgement about Zeke, not liking him from the start. Zeke is new to town, moving from the big city to be a partner in the town auto repair shop with his best friend. Cherry and Zeke spar every time they encounter each other, which oddly enough, makes them crave each other. In the midst of their rivalry, Cherry finds that she needs a favor from Zeke. Zeke is way more accommodating than Cherry assumed he’d be and slowly started to realize he might not be so bad.

I love this series and was so excited to hear the story of how Zeke and Cherry come to know each other. As with anything written by Kristen Proby, I couldn’t put it down and already can’t wait for the next book to be released!

James' rating: 4 out of 5 ebullient yet turbid stars! ✨

I liked this one! One of my favorite tropes, this had an engaging vibe to it! I really appreciated that we had a balancing dynamic to our main characters' relationship. It was refreshing. Zeke was totally cool! Like you know one of those people you just love to hang around with and never let go? He's your guy. Cherry was reserved yet upbeat which was interesting combination.

We had a solid relationship development (which I have seen is hard to cover in a novella but the author did it!) and a steady influx of humor, smiles, spice (oh the spice 🧑🏻‍🚒) and of course, the chemistry! 🔥🩵 We dealt with our some trauma with a realistic approach which I really liked!

This was my Kristen Proby book and I'm definitely looking forward to reading her other books! I love the beach town setting and everything added up to be a great mix! All in all a great novella that I would totally recommend!

**As always, every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a gateway into the author's existing world.**

Thank you @1001darknights_blueboxpress for this sweet ARC! 🩵🩷

Happy Reading!

Cherry Lane, a new novella in Kristen Proby’s Huckleberry Bay series, is a funny, sexy and sweet enemies to lovers story. It’s got all the classic Kristen Proby vibes, believable characters, low-angst and a great story.

Zeke and Cherry get off to a bad start when Zeke outbids Cherry for a water view condo. They continue to clash and verbally spar with each other until Cherry has a hot water emergency and needs to use Zeke’s shower. It quickly becomes obvious that they are attracted to one another, and they soon learn that there is more to each of them than the other originally thought.

Kristen Proby is so good at writing small town romance and building a community that a reader feels they are a part of. This was a fun novella and I look forward to spending more time in Huckleberry Bay as the series continues.

🍒 Cherry Lane, an all-new small town romance set in Kristen Proby’s Huckleberry Bay series, is available now!

📚 I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I just love these novellas as a palate cleanser between heavier reads and to introduce me to authors I have not read before!

📖 I went in blind and haven’t read this author before so don’t be afraid to check it out if you’re unfamiliar with the Huckleberry Bay series. I will definitely be checking out the other books!

From the start I felt like Cherry had a lot to uncover as to why she has her guard up and I loved how Zeke worked to break down her walls in all the best and most respectful ways.

This was a sweet story and I can’t wait to explore the Huckleberry Bay series!

Cherry loves to hate Zeke but doesn’t realise how far her nagging goes until she needs his help. Zeke is initially attracted to Cherry but her attitude is so off putting he doesn’t pursue it…..until she needs his help. Then everything changes. Cherry doesn’t realise how much her past is influencing her future until it’s nearly too late. Zeke is the absolute dream guy, he’s supportive, helpful and nonjudgmental even when Cherry is being irrational and overreacting. I found Cherry frustrating at times but I suppose that’s who she is because Zeke finds her frustrating too. I love the Huckleberry Bay series and this book is an excellent addition to the series. I received this book from the author. I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.

As someone who has read the Huckleberry bay series since the beginning, I have watched the dance that Cherry and Zeke have been doing through the books, and couldn't wait to dive into this story. That said, this book is a stand alone and is full of delicious tension. When Cherry's water runs cold she knocks on her neighbor Zeke's door in her towel and he invites her in to use his shower. Zeke and Cherry don't know how not to fight, but it turns out that tension is not animosity but fueled by desire.

Novellas often feel like instalove, but with these two, it feels more like fate. The story felt rich and full of character development. I loved being back in Huckleberry Bay and finally being able to read Zeke's HEA.

I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily give my honest review.

Ah, Zeke, Zeke, Zeke. The guy truly was someone who had a big heart. I seriously liked him from the get-go, and he certainly had a heck of a lot of patience when it came to his less than pleasant neighbor. Of course, that didn't mean that he didn't spend more time than he should have pushing Cherry's buttons. Now, she had pretty much made her mind up about him in their limited interactions, but she pretty much realized that there was more to Zeke than she had earlier assumed. Admittedly, I may have liked Zeke more than I did Cherry, but she did redeem herself and I was quite satisfied with how everything played out. Cherry Lane was a four-starred addition to the Huckleberry Bay series, and I really hope this won't be the last time we'll be visiting this remarkably lovely little town.

This book is a novella regarding Cherry and Zeke in an "enemy to lovers" novella. It's charming and fun to read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This book moved quickly and the story visits characters that I've come to love from previous books so it was like having a nice sit down with "people you know" and just losing myself with them for several hours while I finished the book in between life. Watching them fall for each other in between the swipes Cherry takes at Zeke, was fun. Learning why she does it was interesting as well. Enjoy reading the saga of Huckleberry Bay and visiting the wonderful men and women of the community that share with you their love of community, friendship and eventually each other.

Cherry Lane is a novella in the Huckleberry Bay series by Kristen Proby. It is also part the 1001 Dark Nights series. You can read a each book as standalone. If you read Fernhill Lane then you have met Zeke and Cherry.

Zeke is new to small town living and he happened to snag the ocean view condo that his neighbor bid on. From the moment he saw her, he was on high alert. She was sassy, beautiful, and a complete pain in his ass. For a year, it was little jabs, I am going to kill you looks. Then it all changed when Cherry’s water heater goes out and Zeke surprisingly offers her his shower and whatever else she needs. They had no idea what it was going to led to but falling wasn’t it…

Such a fun, sexy, and sweet story!

Cherry Lane is the next installment in Huckleberry Bay. This is a great novella about Zeke and Cherry. We have gotten the foundation of these two throughout the series, especially in Chapel Bond and got glimpses of the animosity these two share. In Cherry Lane, Zeke and Cherry are front and center and they are fabulous. These two had an underlying chemistry that just exploded and it was interesting to read how their relationship progressed. Zeke and Cherry had fun banter and their interactions were delightful. I also enjoyed seeing the rest of the Huckleberry gang. I really loved being in this world and just want more. Overall, an entertaining and hearty read.

I feel in love with Huckleberry Bay with Luna and Wolfe, and revisiting this town- and getting Zeke and Cherry's story- is like coming home!

Zeke and Cherry met when he moved into the condo across the hall from her. Needless to say, it was not a great meet-cute, and these two had trouble being around each other without verballly sparring with each other. Until their attraction takes over. And when these two come together, it is magical!

I love that Kristen Proby always writes strong, mature women who, while not needing a man, learn that they are better with a strong support system. I look forward to more!!

Great addition to the series!!! I love this fun, banter filled , sexy little novella by Kristen Proby a lot!!!
This is a great book to get a feeling for a new to you author, or getting a little extra from an author / series you love!

Zeke got an apartment in Huckleberry Bay and is getting adjusted to small town living.
Cherry, his neighbor, had her sights on this apartment with the great ocean view. No wonder she’s not amused about this hot looking man, who makes her insides tingle in more ways than one!!!

So fun to be back in HB and I devoured this book!!!

I kindly received an arc and voluntarily left a review!

Tropes: small town, enemies to lovers, reverse grumpy/sunshine, neighbors

I have grown to love this series and all of Huckleberry Bay. The characters, main and side characters are all amazing and I always wish they lived in my town.

So when I heard Zeke was getting his own happily ever after, I was so happy and excited. We met Zeke in the first book and now we are getting to know where he is.

Cherry is a small town girl and Zeke is a big city guy which Cherry doesn’t like. Their banter and hatred for each other in the beginning is on point but the connection they have is perfect. The tension they have is off the charts.

I love this series so much!

I love Zeke and Cherry!!! This novella was perfect and gave me a dose of the huckleberry bay gang which was much needed. I loved there enemies to lovers story for these two which had been building in June & Apollo's story. Zeke made me swoon so much and i loved how he fell first and couldn't keep away from her. I have wanted Zekes story since Luna & Wolfes story and it so didn't disappoint and i felt so immersed in the story i just couldn't out it down. Kristen knows how to write a story and i can't wait for more.

I’m a long-time fan of Kristen Proby’s writing, so it would take a lot for me to be disappointed in anything she releases. And with Cherry Lane (and the entire Huckleberry Bay series), her winning streak continues. It’s a standalone novella, but for fans of the series, it’s a fun way to catch a glimpse of our favorite characters. It’s a quick read full of anger, miscommunication, misunderstanding, and a little jealousy, along with lots of friendship, forgiveness, acceptance, and love.
