Short story about Graham and Zoe. Graham owns a resort and Zoe makes soaps. Graham proposes a deal and signs a contract with her for the soaps if she pretends to be his fiancée to his family. Not bad, entertaining.
Zoe wants her soaps to be used in Graham's resort, and he agrees on the condition that she pretends to be his fiancee for Christmas. A fun festive read, all of the usual elements making it a winner.
Zoe Walters was fired from her marketing job a month ago. So now, the usually ever-pleasant happy little Christmas Elf is not so happy. She never realized that Satan and Santa are synonymous, if you only change the letters around. People far worse than the Grinch have almost sucked all the Christmas spirit out of her. She’s got one last chance to hold onto it. In a few minutes, she’ll escape this sea of cranky faces and drive to the mountains where her future awaits. Marketing is all about hashtags, so #seeya.
She had to tell the parents who asked, that Santa was not coming due to the flu. The children on the other hand, “Santa had a sleigh malfunction,” I tell the mob of people. “Unfortunately, he won’t be here today.” “Where is Santa?” a deep voice demands. She turned and was confronted by cold chocolate eyes set in a face so ruggedly beautiful that the tips of her shoes would curl if they weren’t already. He runs a hand through his hair, leaving it messy. Broad shoulders square off with her and her lies.
“He’s not here,” she looks at the little girl with him. “Yes, you mentioned his sleigh troubles. But I’m sure he could Uber to fulfill his obligations. So, where is he?” Does he really think I’m going to tell the truth in front of little ears? “How old are you?” she asked, losing her last bit of Christmas spirit. “He’s thirty-two,” the little girl answers. “So you’re old enough to know how this works.” “There is no Uber at the North Pole. There’s a giant sleigh with reindeer, that’s how it works. If your daughter—“ “Niece,” he corrects.
“If your niece would like to leave a letter, you can pop it in the mailbox by the candy cane.” “Where is Santa, really? Do you have any idea what it’s like to stand in that line and keep a six-year-old occupied? I don’t like wasting time.” “Let’s be real here, half these kids don’t even want to do it. They’re terrified. Do you have any idea what it’s like to get your hopes up, and ask the one man you’re told will answer all your dreams for something, and then be disappointed on Christmas day? You’re very jaded for an elf.”
“Listen, I don’t know how to break this to you. So, I’m going to rip the band-aid off.” I step closer to whisper, “Santa isn’t real; we’re all big liars.” “Thanks for enlightening me,” he says, amused. The carefree transformation to his chiseled face is so startling that she steps back because he smells like everything she ever wanted and didn’t get. “You’re welcome.” Tonight was her last night on the job she had a career opportunity, one she set up long before the pink slip was handed to her. If she can convince the owner of Mountain Goat Cabins to put her soap in his resort and spa, her life just might be salvaged. Along with her Christmas spirit.
Little does she know the man she meets in the dark bar is the same man who made her tingle at the mall. But when he takes her to the room and jingles her bells, they have no way of knowing they will be sitting across a boardroom from one another the next morning. This is such a cute story with all the feels but with several villains to boo too.
Logan Chance once again gave us another of his brilliant masterpieces which BTW was a complete surprise to us and what a “Naughty Surprise” it was. The lead up to this surprise book Graham was hysterical we had so much fun trying to guess what he had in store for us with his (Christmas) Balls Lol.
Graham and Zoe are two opposites but my god do the compliment each other, the connection between these two was scorching hot ( yes We Get Logan’s steamy hot scenes which he’s so known for ) plus the laughter and comedy that had me laughing from page one and all through the book.
This book was such a breath of fresh air and it will put you in the Christmas spirit with a ton of laughs and steam along the way. Don’t wait go “run and grab “ this magnificent read now .
Thanks so much Logan for such a great story and surprise I really hope we get to see more of Graham and Zoe in the future, oh and York too lol.
What an enjoyable Christmas season read that can honestly be read year round. Zoe is so sweet and downy to earth, I love everything about her character. Graham is smart and caring even when he makes an offer that Zoe can’t refuse. This story is a page turner from the very beginning and filled with so much love that I didn’t want to put it down. I’m itching for York to have his own story in the future and towards the end there are some laugh out loud moments for sure. Highly recommend you grab your copy now and enjoy.
Yet another fun festive short story by Logan Chance. Zoe loves Christmas but she's leaving her job as top elf to pursue her dream of breaking into the world with her homemade soaps. Little did she know she would cross paths with someone she met briefly and her world would flip around...but will it be for the better? Zoe and Graham have chemistry flying all over from start to end of this book.. would actually have liked this read to have been longer 😍
