Rating: 3.5 stars rounded up

One of my most common complaints with romance novels is when the author shows us one of the main characters (usually the man, but that’s a rant for another day) with someone else. However, this time it worked. Killian is doing what he has to do to leave quickly, but before he leaves he cleans the make-up smears off her sink and hangs up her towels… that’s hot, right?

This book started off so well. I expected to be writing a five-star review. It was a slow burn which I wasn’t loving, but the characters were compelling. Eden was working to heal her broken heart after learning her boyfriend got her best friend pregnant. Killian was trying to deal with his own demons. The first 40% of this book was awesome! It fell more on the side of women's fiction than romance but I cared about the characters and that is so important.

Things were all cute and sweet. We watched Eden and Killian struggle to fight their demons on their own. We see them come together and push away. The author let us understand why they’re not looking for a relationship. Then they have sex, and the book goes downhill from there.

I always feel a little guilty complaining about the sex scenes because I can’t imagine how hard they are to write. The sex was fine. It read very mechanically. He took my dress off; he spread my legs…. like the sexual equivalent of a paint by number. The steps weren’t lacking, but there was no emotion. There was so much feeling throughout the rest of the book but suddenly they get naked and turn into emotionless robots?

, but there was no emotion. There was so much feeling throughout the rest of the book but suddenly they get naked and turn into robots?

As the book went on, the nooky did improve, slightly. I suspect the author wasn't comfortable with what she was writing. We're told it's the best sex ever. But sometimes stating something as a fact doesn't make it so. The glimpses we're given don't suggest it's even good sex.

Even the dirty talk is glossed over. "Tell me what you're going to do to me," I said, as I unlocked her apartment door. She waited until the door was closed and locked behind us to tell me. By the time we reached her bedroom I was so hard my dick felt like concrete." That has the potential to be hot. But the most important part of this exchange is missing. Tell me what she said so I can try it out...

Paragraphs later we're told, "she could talk dirty, have sex doggy style, ask for a spanking, and still blush." HELLO, I've read every single page of this book, where was I when all this happened????

Then we get to my favorite sex scene.

"His tongue circled the rim of my belly button and dipped inside..." I'm sure belly button licking has its place but I can't help but feel as though this should have been a different body part. Especially given her reaction.

All right, I'm sure you can tell I didn't enjoy the sex. Let's move on!

I appreciated the glimpses we get into Killian's past. I felt so much empathy for him as we were introduced to the abuses he suffered during his childhood. I'm a big fan of people healing and overcoming their traumas, but we see little healing in this book.

Toward the end of the book, I found myself confused as the story turns to this action/ adventure sequence with guns, police, and violence. This scene didn't fit with the rest of the book and was used to push this idea you should forgive parents who treat you poorly because "in the end, they're still your parents." I think that's terrible advice so the whole thing rubbed me the wrong way.

Overall, Beneath Your Beautiful had a lot of potential but left me wanting more. It's an interesting enough read and I think someone who enjoys romantic women's fictions would love this. Sadly, the author lost me at the first bland sex scene.

When you love someone, you don’t run away, and you don’t leave them when things get hard or messy or fucked-up. When you love someone, you fight for them.

That was a decent read and as a debut novel, it was quite good but not good enough for me to give it 4 or 5 stars.

*********************************************

The plot:

The characters are likable. The heroine is cheated on by her boyfriend and she moves to another city to begin a new life. She is an artist but she needs to work in a bar to earn money to continue living on her own and support her passion for art. The hero is the bar owner who gives her a job as a bartender. He is an ex MMA fighter and he still suffers from his guilt of causing the death of his friend in an MMA fight. He also has a brother with a drug addiction problem and a father who used violence against him all through his childhood and teenage years. So, he is kind of a damaged person with lots of baggage. When these two people meet, it is easy to guess what will happen. They are attracted to each other but his demons continue for a long while, preventing him from thinking he deserves her. He is protective of her and he doesn’t want anyone near her but for a long while, he doesn’t act upon his feelings. It was THE SLOOOOOWEST burn ever!

Then, when they start a relationship, it suddenly becomes too boring for a long while because it is too uneventful and has no angst etc.

The emotions between them and the sexual tension were all very good at the beginning but when they had sex, it was written in such a mechanical and hasty way that it didn’t make me feel anything at all. Both of them said it was the best sex of their lives but it sure didn't feel like it on the pages. Unfortunately, saying doesn’t help, writers should know this; you need to show it on page - not state it, you need to make us feel it. Sadly, their intimate scenes all fell short of making me feel. They felt devoid of passion and there was nothing special about it.

The ex boyfriend keeps calling her but she refuses to speak and then she says they talked on the phone and she was over it but there is no conversation for us to read; that was a big minus in my opinion.

*********************************************

As I said the book was too uneventful but in the last 50 pages, it suddenly changes and there is some action involving kidnapping/violence/murder/hospitalization etc. I thought it didn’t suit the overall mood of the book. It was too calm and then, too messy all of a sudden.

For me the biggest problem of the book is that it is TOO LONG for a novel as predictable and uneventful as this one. I don’t think the action in the last 50 pages matters after 250 uneventful pages and even if it did, it wasn’t the kind of action that I would appreciate. It was not related to their romance but a tragedy happening to a family member, which also affected them.

Still, I appreciate the book as a debut novel and I can give this writer’s second book a chance because I feel the talent is there.

*********************************************

Here is my favorite quote from the book:

If you want to move on from something, you can’t bury it inside. You need to shine the light on it. You need to work through it before you can let it go.

*********************************************

SAFETY:

No cheating between the couple
No separation

Loved this sweet, steamy romance by debut author Emery Rose. Killian is my favorite kind of hero, broken and brooding, and firecracker Eden is his perfect match. I'm not usually big on jumping couples within a series, but I adored Killian's brother, Connor, and his on-again/off-again h, Ava, and I can't wait to read their story in Beautiful Lies, coming out soon.

Gorgeous, I loved it!

Wow, what a fantastic debut novel from Emery Rose. She has given us a sweet, sexy and intense romance with just the right amount of drama and emotion, and a gorgeous love story, and I loved it.

Killian is a former UFC fighter who is haunted by ghosts from his past. He has been hurt badly, and suffers guilt from an accident that shattered his world, and he now runs a bar with his best friend, keeping to himself and not letting anybody get too close.

I was a man seeking salvation and redemption, without a clue how to find it.

Eden’s world comes to a crashing halt when she walks in on her boyfriend and her best friend in bed together. Shattered by the betrayal, she packs up her life and moves away from her hometown to Brooklyn, hoping for a fresh start and the chance to find herself and figure out what it is she wants from her life. When she goes looking for work in a bar, she meets Killian, and their first meeting is far from friendly.

“You’ll have guys hassling you. When they get drunk, they say and do stupid shit. I’m not saying it’s right,” he shrugged one shoulder, “but you’re not unattractive, so you’ll need to deal with that.”
“I’m not
unattractive? Are you always this charming?”
“If you’re looking for Prince Charming, it ain’t me, Sunshine”
Sunshine? At least he didn’t make any empty promises or pretend to be something he wasn’t. “I don’t believe in fairytales. Or happily ever after. Prince Charming was an evil villain in disguise, and Cinderella was the doormat he wiped his feet on.”

I love the feisty intensity you get when you have two people fighting against a mutual and sizzling attraction, and that is exactly what happens here. Neither Eden or Killian are looking for a relationship, but neither of them can deny that there is a connection between them, and in the midst of snarky banter, across-the-bar-stares and displays of alpha protectiveness, their attraction to each other grows, and I loved watching it all happen.

And thankfully it doesn’t drag on for too long, giving us just the right amount of build up before we get to see the beginnings of a gorgeous love story as Killian and Eden own what’s happening between them and agree to explore all of that sizzling chemistry.

“You’re killing me, baby,” he said, his voice low and husky.
Baby. I loved the way it sounded rolling off his tongue. “Gently, I hope.”
“Sometimes that’s the worst way.”

It’s hot! And more than just their physical attraction, there is a strong emotional element to everything between them, and I loved watching them open up to each other, bare their souls and share their vulnerabilities.

Sex was easy. Intimacy was hard for me. “If you look too closely, did too deep, you won’t like what you find and that…scares the shit out of me.”

Killian’s walls are thick, but Eden is strong. I loved her determination to break through as she fought hard to heal him, and I love that he let her. And the love story that develops is heartfelt, passionate and swoony as they fall for each other utterly and completely.

“When I’m with you, I see all the colors. And I’m not scared of the darkness, because there’s so much light inside you too. When you let me see you, really see you, there’s nothing in this world more beautiful than you, Killian.”
“It’s not beautiful inside me. It’s a fucked-up place to live.”
“I’d rather live there, with you, than anywhere else on the planet.”

“You own me, Eden. Body, heart, soul. I’m yours.”

*dreamy sigh*

But them finding each other is only a part of their story. They still have a lot to deal with – individually and together - and when demons from the past encroach upon their happiness, there is some drama and suspense, adding even more intensity to the story, but it’s balanced well without being overwhelming.

There’s a great collection of side characters, and I was thrilled when I learned that Rose is going to continue exploring this world by turning this book into a series. There are friends and family members just screaming to have their stories told, and with some great set-ups already in place, I can’t wait to get my hands on those!

I loved this book. Sweet, sexy and intense with a whole lot of heart, it’s a gorgeous story, and a really impressive debut.

4 stars.

You guys!!! I seriously am sitting here still swooning after reading Killian and Eden's story. OMG it was fantastic! Emery Rose legit blew my mind and this being her debut novel makes it even more incredible. I loved the spirited banter and fiery chemistry between Killian and Eden and loved the entire cast of characters. This was such an outstanding book!!

Anyone who knows me knows that dark and broody alpha heroes are my jam. And the fact that the hero is a bar owner/MMA fighter is the cherry on top. Holy crap this story was amazing!! I loved everything about it. Wracked with guilt and emotionally unavailable after a tragedy in his past, Killian Vincent is completely focused on work. But when Eden Madley literally falls into his life, he could never expect hiring her as his new bartender would change his life.

GAH!! I am seriously trying to rein it in here and not give away the whole story but seriously Y'ALL NEED TO READ THIS!! It is pure kindle crack. There are so many moving parts and fantastic characters. Eden is sassy and spirited and the one woman who can bring Killian to his knees and provide the safe space he needs where he can open up and bring down his walls. And the result? Something so beautiful and incredible it'll take your breath away!!! I know this story will stay with me for a long time! Bravo! 4.5 stars! ~Ratula

This was decent. I enjoyed the beginning, it started as kind of a slow burn. Once they got together, it lost some of it's spark and I had a hard time staying interested.

5 Heartbreakingly beautiful stars!!!!

OMG.......this story, these characters were just AHMAZING!!!!!!!! I FLOVED Eden and Killian, the slow burn build-up and when they finally come together.....chaotic magic:)

The writing was fantastic, the story engaging, intriging, action packed, just all out heartbreak for Killian and his brother, omg, love, hot sex, etc..... The friendships and Eden's family (please I want more on her brothers:) were so awesome, loved all of them.

What I loved most of all was Eden's selfless love she had for both Killian and his brother as well as the love for her family. Not gonna lie the last part of the book, literally the last chapter or so, I was SCARED shit with the scene with her dad and Killian and the author couldn't have played out what happened next any more perfect for me:) . Killian had just as much love for Eden as she did with him and I could FEEL it jumping from my Kindle....LOVED it!!!!!!

Killian and Eden are perfect! Emery Rose did a wonderful job bringing this story to life. The characters chemistry was off the charts. Eden was my ideal female lead. She's tough yet girly, smart, sassy and takes no crap. I enjoyed storyline. It had the little extra umph that sets it apart from other books in the genre. Wonderful read so add it to your library.

Love It!!

Boy oh boy, Emery Rose came out with the big gun blazing for this book and his name is Killian Vincent. He is lethal in many ways, however I am most fond of the book boyfriend way. ;)

"Once upon a time, I was a champion. Who, or what, was I now?"

Killian Vincent is a beautiful man with an ugly past, trying to find his place in life. His self-imposed fall from the top was hard, not knowing what to do next is even harder. Living life stuck in his head, Killian doesn't even know he wants a woman like Eden, until she stumbled into his life.

"...I wasn't sure that Killian was someone I should want."

She was rendered speechless the minute she saw him. Eden was instantly smitten with the handsome Killian from across the way and immediately knew he was off limits in more ways than one. Deciding on the friendship route, Eden quickly learned there was more to this guy than a beautiful body and face.

They both had things to work out, his more serious than hers, but none the less they weren't insta- relationship material. I liked the slow start, the getting to know each other period, which was necessary for a story line like this to work out. Plus, we weren't only focused on Killian and Eden the entire time, there were both of thier families butting in, work friends, as well as the past rearing its ugly head to complete this unconventional love story.

The book is well written and keeps you on your toes. Running the gamut of emotion, I was surprised to learn this was Emery Rose's first novel. She did a great job and seeing that it's book one in the series, I'm anxious to learn if Connor and Ava's story is up next.

After reading the first chapter I was like f yes im lovin this cuz the h just caught her ex cheating and ohh I was ready for the angst but then... not much happened after that. Don't get me wrong, the characters are likeable and the H's backstory is interesting and heartbreaking but everything was just meh for me. Maybe because of the telling instead of showing kind of writing especially when it came to development/progression of their friendship to lovers stage?? Yeah, that's why. Unfortunately, because of this, I didn't get the full emotional impact of their relationship and I just didn't root for them.

Overall, the characters and side characters are likeable but kind of forgettable tbh and I just skimmed the last half of this book because I just got bored and the fact that the cheating ex problem wasn't shown/resolved? Yeah... that really bugged me.

Beneath Your Beautiful has everything you want in a great Romance novel. Eden and Killian's chemistry is off the chart. Their love for one another isn't an easy one, but it's one borne out of honesty and courage. The story pulled me in from page one and wouldn't let go. I couldn't get enough of my broken Killian and sweet but strong Eden.

Beneath Your Beautiful is an amazing debut and I can't wait to read more by Emery!

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.

This was such an incredible debut! After reading last year's Wilder Love and this year's Sweet Chaos and falling head over heels in love with both stories I knew that I had to pick up this author's backlist titles.

I am so in love with this author's writing style. It really speaks to me. I feel so at home in this author's prose. The narration was smooth and inviting. There were a few points in the middle of the story where the flow really slowed down. I wouldn't say that I was completely bored but I definitely felt the change in the story's pacing. I enjoyed the overall plot of the story. It was engaging and interesting. I felt that some of the conflict was glossed over at the end though. I really loved how the author was able to pull me into the story from the first page. I felt an instant connection with the story.

Both main characters in this story were complex and realistic. It was so easy to fall right into their orbits. Eden was my favorite kind of heroine. She was strong and sweet and always a ray of sunshine. When the story starts out her world is turned on its axis and she leaves home to find herself. Then her path crosses with Killian's. He is a broody and a little closed off. He fits the tortured hero definition to a T. I really liked that both characters had a lot of depth. The reader can really feel the character growth for each of them as the story progresses. Especially for Killian. I felt that there was a missed opportunity with Eden's character growth, at least in a certain area. Her closure in this area felt a little too neat. It had build-up but then kind of petered out. I really loved the friendships in this book. And Eden's family was wonderful. The secondary characters in this book were just great.

Killian and Eden were so perfect together. I absolutely loved Killian's protectiveness towards Eden, even when they first met. While they both had a lot going on in the background, they were able to open up to each other. I loved that Eden was able to bring out the best in Killian. They definitely had chemistry with one another and all their friends could see it from a mile away.

Overall, this was a compelling story with a wonderful cast of characters. This is a story that will keep you on your toes. I can't wait to read Connor and Ava's story in the next book in this series!

I saw the sign-ups for the Blog Tour for this book and I had a date free, so I decided to check it out! I'm normally very picky about the books that I review, so I was surprised when I took a chance on this book and decided to review it for the Blog Tour! I'm so happy that I took a chance on this book though because I really enjoyed it! I was intrigued right from the first page and I found myself reading a few more chapters every free chance I had! The plot also developed at the perfect pace and it kept me wanting to read on and find out what was going to happen next! There were some seriously hot scenes in this book between the two main characters too and they were really, really hot! There also wasn't a lot of action and suspense in the plot, but there was a quite a big scene near the end! This scene changed the plot a lot and had a big impact on it! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Eden was the main female character, and in this book she had been through a bad situation that hurt her, so she wanted to get away! Getting away was the best thing that Eden could have done because she found a good group of friends and a love interest! Eden also helped her love interest a lot and she helped him through a difficult time in his life! Eden was also easy for me to connect with and I didn't lose that connection with her as the book progressed! Killian was the main male character and love interest of Eden! Killian was seriously hot and such a dark, brooding character in this book! I was able to understand why he was like this as the book progressed! My heart went out to him because his father was horrible to him and he had done something that he had a lot of guilt for! Killian went through a lot in this book, but I felt like he came a long way too! I also loved how protective Killian was of Eden and it was easy to see that he had deep feelings for her! I loved that this book was written from both Eden and Killian's point of views! I was hoping that it was going to be after I read the synopsis, so I'm really happy that it was! It helped me connect and understand both characters more and it allowed for more things to happen, especially as both characters were going through their own things! I also can't wait to read the next book in this series! I can't find any information about it, so I'm not sure if it's going to continue Eden and Killian's story, focus on secondary characters, or be a complete standalone! I still can't wait to read it once it releases and I hope I don't have to wait too long for it! I didn't know that this book is this author's first book too! I'm very impressed by it and look forward to her future books! The cover for this book is also stunning! It suits the book perfectly and definitely made me want to rad the story behind it! The cover image is also perfect at representing Eden and Killian's relationship! Big thank you to Emery for an ARC of Beneath Your Beautiful and to Enticing Journey Book Promotions for having me on the Blog Tour!

What an utterly fabulous debut book by a brand new indie author. Honestly so many times during this book I had to stop & remind myself that this story was Emery Rose’s first ever book & what an amazing story it was.

This is the story of Killian & Eden. One very damaged hero, with a past he longs to keep hidden & one fiery, determined heroine, who wants to break free from one life & begin another, for her & no one else.

Killian was a gorgeous hero, I loved the fact that although he was physically strong & brooding, he was also caring & super protective. His past hurt my heart in so many ways, but I have to say, I was so damn happy that our girl Eden was up to the task of dismantling his iron clad wall & showing this beautiful man that everyone deserves to love & be loved ~ including him.

Eden, gawd I adored this girl & everything she stood for. Yes she was hurt & betrayed, but she made sure she was never down or out. Hell this girl had fire in her belly & a fierceness that made me proud. Strong, determined & funny, with a beautiful soul that shone vividly, I couldn’t have wished for a better heroine to show Killian the way.

I loved the way their journey unfolded, with some great twists that kept the story flowing effortlessly & the pages turning. Emery did a fab job in developing these characters, letting me see & feel their deepest fears as well as their life long desires. I got to understand who they were individually, but also witness how they truly did bring out the best in each other. Both learning to believe, learning to love & learning to have hope. Gahhh So so good. Mind If this wasn’t enough, I also got some exceptional side characters that I’m praying will get to shout loud with their own voices (especially Sawyer) & give me more fabulous stories to get lost in.

Taking a chance on brand new Indie author is something everyone should do, because Emery proves, it only takes one book to win the hearts & minds of any reader of romance. An amazing debut by an amazing author.

Emotional and enthralling. Beneath Your Beautiful really took me by surprise. This is the first book I’ve read from Rose and I wasn’t sure what to expect from it. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this story.

These characters were deep and endearing. Each damaged by events in their lives, yet dealing with them it in different ways. Dark and light, opposites who made each other better. Killian and Eden brought out the best in one another. They were so perfect, I loved them. The initial tension, the friendship, and more. Rose made their progression so natural and exciting.

Rose throws in some twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat! She adds so much variety into this story, I couldn’t put it down!! I’m curious as to whether or not she will be turning this into a series. There are plenty of incredible side characters with stories to be told, I would love to read more about them. I also can’t get enough of Killian and Eden, I’d love to catch up with these two in the future.

Wow, I was impressed with this book. This is an amazing debut novel and I will definitely be watching out for anything the author publishes in the future. This book deals with so many complex issues but still has a sense of realism and portrayed them perfectly. Clearly, this author has done the research. Bravo!! Eagerly looking forward to the next release.

Loved it.

I really enjoyed this sweet read. I fell hard for Killian. It was an emotional ride. It had family drama, some sexy times and a very hot hero. I loved the ending. This series is one I will definitely continue to read.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. I am glad I did. I've read A LOT of books over the years. I've read a lot of debut authors. This was by far the most polished I've ever read. It didn't read like a first time author, taking a step into the unknown. The characters were great, story was really good and kept me turning the page. I adored Eden and Killian. I love a damaged H and Emery provided this in spades. It was a lovely, sexy read about two broken people finding their happy together. I loved it.

There were also a ruck full of side characters that were really enjoyable. I'm hoping we see more of Jared and Ava and Connor.

All in all, a really solid first book.

copy received for honest review
I was engaged the moment I met Eden. I knew I would like her. She did not let me down once during the entire story. She was beautiful inside and out. She had a big heart and stood up for those she loved. She was sweet and strong and gave as good as she got. After the end to what she thought was a happy relationship she moves to Brooklyn and meets Killian. Killian had a hard life. He fought figuratively and literally to escape an abusive childhood. MMA was his dream and he lived the life for years until tragedy struck. He kept his walls up until Eden. He tried to keep his distance but she broke through. The journey was sexy and fun. Killian will make you fall in love with him despite his issues. This was a really good debut book. It is filled with interesting characters with a interesting back stories for future books. I look forward to reading this author in the future.

I started reading the second book in this series, Beautiful Lies and decided I needed a refresher on this one since while I still had a feeling of love for this book, I'd forgotten some of the details and figured a refresher read of a book I enjoyed would be good. And my first grade is spot on again. I loved it just as much second time around. Below is my original review

*****
Although this one has been out for a while, I just discovered this first book by new author Emery Rose and I was so impressed I need to share the love.

Eden, our small town heroine is working on getting over a bad break up. Seems her fiancé is in love with a good friend of Eden’s when she catches them ‘together’. And if that’s not painful, seems the bitch is pregnant. Eden decides to leave their small town altogether and head to New York. She’s having a wee bit of trouble finding a job until someone gives her a tip that the tipster was at a bar where the owner had just fired the bartender and chances are good she might get hired. She heads over and after a bit of a struggle gets hired.

The bar owner of course is our hero. Killian has also been through a real hard time. Once a famous and well known MMA fighter, he gave it up when he fought one of his good friends and his friend died as a result. Although he loved sport, the guilt was overwhelming to him. He started taking it as he had a physically abusive father who still tries to meddle in his life and never thinks Killian is good enough. Killian has a young brother who he feels responsible for. His brother is a drug addict and is currently missing so Killian has a lot he’s dealing with. The last thing he wants is these feelings that are starting to develop for Eden, his newest hire.

But despite his rough exterior, inside Killian is a very good and decent guy with a strong protective streak. Add to it incredibly good looks and Eden, who also doesn’t want to get involved in a relationship at this point, is drawn more and more to Killian. And with Killian, well, the heart wants what the heart wants and his heart wants Eden.

This is a real hidden gem of a book and I really hope it becomes less and less hidden. Killian makes for a wonderful hero. As I said, he’s caring and he’s thoughtful and he does take wonderful care of Eden yet at the same guy giving her the freedom she needs. And unlike Killian, Eden comes from a loving home. Her mother died much too young but she is close to her father and her two older brothers.

The secondary characters are also well done, from the interesting staff at Killian’s bar to Eden’s over protective family. There is a second book out (already bought and paid for by me) which focuses on Connor, Killian’s younger and very troubled brother. He makes an appearance later in the book and I’m looking forward to his story.

The story is told so well and the character so well done, it really is hard to believe this is Ms. Rose’s first book. I had to double check to make sure. The only down side is she doesn’t have a back list I can catch up on.

The book was really good. One time read though! Eden and killian both were very mature and good characters.

-Here, I really loved Eden, the h, she was really amazing and a spit fire. She wasn't a weak character, always up for challenges and really really mature. She didn't judge, she didn't keep her feelings bottled up, she just speaks what's on her mind.

-The best think i loved about her was, when her ex Luke cheats on her with her roommate, she doesn't start crying or blaming people, she straight away goes and swings base ball bat on his BMW car, breaking the headlights and all. And that actually was really attractive.

-The H, killian, I can't I liked him at the first because the author introduced his character when he was done fuvking his fvck buddy and was rolling out his condom. I hate players and manwhores! Though we don't see any sex scenes between them, it was irritating even thinking about the OW he just fvcked up!

-Though later on in the book Killian is one of the sweetest person. He really loved the h too much and was really protective of her. His care and his personality was actually really refreshing. He was a One night stand kinda guy but it all stops once he meets Eden. He doesn't even look at any OW after Eden comes into the picture.

-The book was all perfect until after 75% of the book. The book really got boring after killian's brother comes into the picture. Okay, so even if he came back everything was all good but why extend the book unnecessarily?! Why bring their father? Kill him at the end chapters.

-According to me the ending scenes where some guys get in their house and attacks Eden and Connor was a piece of bullshit! That was totally unexpected and way out of league of the book, it was like the book totally changed it's genre from 'Romantic' to 'Action'. I don't like violence books and I avoid them as much as I can and I was enjoying the book so far but the ending part made me change my mood so only 3 stars for the book!
