A delightful poem with easy to understand facts about owls and beautiful full color photos of many different kinds of owls. This is a great book to read to the very young or give to the older student to read alone. It will be enjoyed by people of all ages, giving a simple but thorough concept of what makes the owl a special bird.
Katie Apple has just published another book for early learners on "On the Edge of the and early learning book about nocturnal animals" Many children are afraid of the dark because it is filled with unknown and unseen things. This book tells about all the little animals of park and woodland that come out to play in the dark, so will make night seem less threatening. Check it out also.
Some Owls Don't Give a Hoot: an early learning book about owls Illustrated and colorful learning book for children and adults all about owls. Not only their species but what they can do. Where they live, what they can do for special things, hearing, vision, etc. My favorite of course is the snowy white owl and his habits of eating anything small, whole. We have local ones that we like to view from a distance.
Short little book about owls in rhyme. The photographs are gorgeous. This tells us about owls in a different way, so we look at them with a new and fresh eye. I enjoyed this. I've learned about owls in a myriad ways. This is perfect to teach your toddlers about owls.
This book isn’t really a story, fun fact book, or a ‘learn about this animal’ book. The whole thing was a VERY long poem. The poem itself was good, and you would ‘learn’ about each owl in poem form. But the information provided wasn’t really anything…learnable? I don’t know how else to put it. There wasn’t enough information provided for each owl and it seemed to me you were learning about different owls, but they all are the same.
