Yes, the Bible.
Here's the thing. I've read the Bible since I was able to read. But I've never actually read it straight through before. The system of this book encourages that by giving the reader a schedule. 12 page a day. Now mind you, those 12 pages may take you an hour. For me they did and more, as I took notes, jotted ideas, prayed inbetween lines, etc.
It actually took me 180 days to finish this, but the transformation that occurs as a result of reading straight through the Bible is phenomenal. I've done other Bible reading programs where one gets some OT, Psalms, Proverbs and NT each day. For me the continuity of going directly through the Bible cannot be surpassed. Stories stack sequentially, informing both the past and the following. It was assembled to be read in this fashion.
Absolutely a must-do, even if not with this Bible.

This was a really great way to read the Bible. Not something I'd do very often because it's an intensive reading program. Reading this quickly however, gives you the opportunity to make connections (between books, time periods, old testament and new testament) that are hard to make if you're spreading it out over a year or more.
I feel like I have a better grasp of how things fit together and where certain stories and verses are found.
I'm also feel a great sense of accomplishment for actually reading the Bible from cover to cover! I think it's a great challenge to take on and definitely worth the time investment.

2021 - It took me 102 days this time, but still a blessing!
Reading the Bible in 90 days is one of my favorite daily reading plans. It makes you see the Bible as a narrative that tells the story of God's plan from beginning to end. I love how reading it in such a short span puts so much of the Bible fresh in your mind. Old Testament references in the New Testament seem clearer. I don't think this is the only way to study, and I do believe there are times when you must take things at a much slower pace and dissect it, but if you haven't read the Bible this way, I encourage you to give it a try.

It took me 101 days instead of 90 😆 it was a challenge and a blessing, and gave me more perspective than I’ve ever had reading the Bible before. I broke it up into smaller pieces throughout the day and that was the key for being able to do it. I’m so thankful!!

On the 2nd of June 2014 I completed reading the entire Bible, both Old and New Testaments. Wow! But it was worth every moment especially because I was motivated by our being given a copy of "The NIV Bible in 90 Days" by a fellow parishioner from our church.
The only thing that made this edition unique is that it includes a progress record that tells the reader the start verse and end verse for each day's reading for every 12 pages of reading. As the reader progresses through each day there is a notation at the top of every twelfth page showing the reader which numbered-day the reader has just completed and which numbered-day is next. In actuality, there are only 88 day of reading that takes the reader through all 1005 pages of biblical text.
It actually took me more than 90 days to read the entire Bible only because there were days that I could not work my daily reading into my schedule, but I am happy that I completed my goal of reading it in its entirety. This was on my bucket list of things to do before I die, and I did it... and so did my dear wife!
This edition was not abbreviated in any way, but it did include informative footnotes at the bottom of most every page; often the footnotes either explained measurements, words with special meaning in either Greek or Hebrew, or an explanation related to a place or person that helped clarify the particular passage. I must admit, reading the Old Testament was the most difficult, but there were also times when I found that there was a lot of repetition of events as written by the various Disciples of Christ in the New Testament. But one of the greatest pleasures was linking so many of the events and persons from the Old Testament that appear in the New Testament. After so many years of reading passages from the New Testament that made reference to passages in the Old Testament, I now have a much clearer understanding of the entire Bible... and it is now so much more interesting when I do read or hear a passage as part of a church or prayer service.
I now challenge all of my friends and anyone else who has never accomplished this reading to pick up the Bible and set a goal of reading it through from Genesis to Revelation. If you want to make it easier to discipline yourself in completing your goal, I recommend that you get a copy of "The NIV Bible in 90 Days;" you will find it rewarding.

The bible is a good book! So happy I have finally read the entire bible. 12 pages a day is a great way to read the bible.

I have always intended to read the Bible from cover to cover. But it was one of those "I should do that, but I'm not actually motivated to do that today" tasks until I came across this program. Honestly, I had never considered that I could read the entire Bible in as few as 90 days. That seems like such a short period of time to finish such a long (and dense) book.
I did it! In fact, I finished in 73 days. I listened to the audiobook version of this program and I thought the narrators were excellent. Music plays quietly underneath the narration and occasionally that was distracting, but I was very satisfied with the production value of the project.
Many thanks to the editors of this program for providing the encouragement and structure for me to finish reading (listening to) the Bible in less than 90 days. I feel great for reaching this goal and for having spent such a dedicated amount of time with the scriptures.

This is the second time I have done a modified version of the Bible in 90 Days program {I add in the Deuterocanonical books that are in Catholic Bibles}. It truly is a great program. While it obviously isn't meant to be an in depth review of the Bible, it is a great jumping point to explore it in full. You can easily mark or highlight anything you want to delve into more later.
It seems like a lot of reading, and it is. However, it usually took me just around an hour each day.
I really love the program, and I am sure I will do it more over the course of my life. It is definitely a great way to start or end the day.

I enjoyed reading/listening to the bible in 90 days. It was a feat. The low rating is because the Kindle version of this book that I downloaded and paid $ for did not render on my phone appropriately (formatting). There were passages where it was

Finished it in 90 days this time! Come, Lord Jesus!
So for those of you counting, yes, it took me more like 140 days. :P But it was SO worth it - reading the Bible in this way allows a "whole picture" view in a way my normal reading does not. Love the perspective I was able to get by reading all of it in such a short timeframe.

This divides the Bible up into 12 pages and tells you where to start and stop reading. It took me 4 months because some days I didn’t do the full 12 pages. This is the quickest Bible reading program I’ve ever done. It’s interesting to get a big picture view of the Bible, and spend days instead of weeks in certain books (Leviticus and Numbers, for example). As for the NIV part, this was the first time I’d read the NIV and I still prefer some other versions, but this was fine for general reading. It was interesting to compare other versions of various passages that I’m very familiar with. The 12 page reading intervals was doable for the most part. Now I’m going to have to go back and spend more time with certain books, passages, and concepts.

I loved reading the Bible in 90 days!
I was able to have the OT prophesies about Jesus still fresh in my mind as I read the NT. I felt like I saw the big story of the whole Bible more clearly than I ever have. I actually understood difficult books such as Revelation a little better by reading it through in just a couple of days as opposed to a chapter a day. I used to to think reading a whole book of the Bible in just one or two sittings was impossible, but now I see that it is not only very doable but there is a huge benefit to reading it in this way.

The Bible in 90... no, 84 Days!
What an amazing ride this has been!
After many failed attempts at reading through the Bible.. to finish in 84 days is nothing short of God's grace and mercy. Not until tonight has my husband said anything about my disappearing acts to go read. He was my silent cheerleader! Because of the emotional turmoil that has occurred in our home over the past 2 weeks, I was even more focused to stay in the Word. I know really know that God uses the bad things that happen to us for our good. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness to me even when I am not faithful!
This last week took me through many books of the New Testament including: Acts, Romans 1 and 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James, 1 and 2 Peter, 1 and 2 and 3 John, Jude and Revelation.
Here are a couple verses which have stayed with me....
Romans 12:9-13
9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
Philippians 1:9-11
9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
2 Timothy 2:11-13
11 Here is a trustworthy saying:
If we died with him,
we will also live with him;
12 if we endure,
we will also reign with him.
If we disown him,
he will also disown us;
13 if we are faithless,
he remains faithful,
for he cannot disown himself.

9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Great system! Reading great chunks at a time is a much better way for me to get the whole picture than a few verses a day, whrtr I forget the context by the next time I start up. I recommend you get a group together to read with you, though. It's the rare person who doesn't fall behind at one point or another, and when you're assigned this much material per day, consistency is key. Missed days can snowball, and you need someone there to pull you up out of the pit, or as my group put it, throw down a rope & flashlight.
The internet is a great way for your group to keep in touch--a weekly book club this isn't suited for. On the other hand, I've found it isn't hard to find people who are interested in giving it a go: a lot of people _want_ to have read the entire Bible and figure they can stick it out for 90 days, which is what the "inventor" of the program thought, My second attempt was 90 days chronologically (to break up some of the longer prophets), based on the chronological schedule at ewordtoday.com, but without my support system--not as many people want to have read the entire Bible more than once--I fizzled out around the beginning of Proverbs.
Not sure you can read 1/90 of the Bible in a day? Well, the first day's reading is Gen 1-16. Find yourself a good, easy-to-read translation (this is the NIV) and give it a go. The folks in my group averaged 45 minutes reading a day, maybe an hour for the harder parts.

What a blessing this was to read the Bible straight through rather than skipping around and reading a bit here and a smidgen there. It makes a lot more sense if you read it just like a normal book - you get a better sense of continuity of the whole story that way. It was also good to do this in a declared parameter of time - it helped me to stick it through to the end. The fact that I was leading a group of people reading it helped as well.
We read it not in 90 days but used a revised schedule. We read the Old Testament at the rate of six pages per day rather than 12, and the New Testament at four pages a day because we didn't want to rush it. Also, when we got to Psalms and Proverbs, we read five chapters of Psalms and one of Proverbs each day for 31 days (gave Ps 119 its own day), because you just don't get much out of Proverbs if you read the whole thing in three days. Also, that part of the schedule was right around Christmas and New Year's, so it seemed better to take a more relaxed approach at that time period.
Overall, it was a great experience reading this with our group, and I hope to do it again either next year or the year after.

WOW! This was hard, but it was well worth it!
I will be honest and admit that I missed a few days, but it was still a wonderful time in the Word. It was intense and took about 45 minutes a day, but being saturated in the Word like that was an amazing experience. If you feel like a dry sponge that has nothing left to squeeze out...then I hope you do more than consider taking this 90 day challenge. You will be dripping wet again and will soak anyone who bumps into you!
While you can google reading plans on the web and print of the 90 plan, actually buying this special Bible was well worth the money. It was easily marked which made it possible to focus on what I was reading instead of counting pages while reading. And reading the easy flow of the NIV was nice when reading such huge portions in one sitting.

What an amazing experience it has been reading the Bible in 90 days! I did it. Today is day 90 and I finished it today. I wasn't sure that I could do it many times during the 90 days but with the support of my group at www.momstoolbox.com I pushed through and kept reading. The most amazing thing I think was how the whole book seemed to come together for me. Some of the book didn't seem relevant in today's time. But, after reading the whole book, cover to cover, it seems that every part had it's purpose. I highly encourage anyone who has thought about reading the whole Bible try this process to read it.
I must say as much as there were times I could not wait to get done and be able to read other books or watch TV now that the new shows are back I almost want to start over for another 90 days. It has been a great reminder of God's presence in our lives. I think instead I will get an old daily devotional out because I do want to find time to read every day but maybe in a smaller scale.

January 7, 2011Reading this version of the Bible, not exactly in 90 days but close, with my church. If you have any desire to read through the whole Bible (which actually I think every Christian should, to prevent selective passage-quoting for political purposes...) this version is a very helpful way to do it because the editors have cut out all study guides and unnecessary annotations so that it reads smoothly like a novel. I really enjoyed this process and am so glad I did it. I always felt that reading a passage here and a passage there without knowing the bigger picture was a hindrance to true understanding. Now I know that sometimes, the story you get in a small little passage really is the whole story - but in many cases, when you pick and choose paragraphs from the Bible to read and interpret, you miss the bigger meaning when you haven't read the whole Bible. If reading the Bible is on your bucket list, I highly recommend this 12-pages-a-day reading plan.

July 30, 2010July 4 - The Book of Proverbs. Filled with such pearls of wisdom as: "A truthful witness does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies." (14:5) Yeah no kidding.
I also enjoyed this one: "Give beer to those who are perishing, wine to those who are in anguish; let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more." (31:6-7) Seriously? I never would have guessed that the Bible, of all things, would advocate drinking one's troubles away. Yeesh.
July 30 - Finished Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs. Nice and quick.

I never would have guessed that the Bible, of all things, would advocate drinking one's troubles away. Yeesh.

I just started reading "The Bible in 90 Days." It was my New Year's Resolution and this is the copy that I picked up. You pretty much read 12 pages a day and complete it in 90 days. It has been a challange with my 2 year daughter at home wanting to play but I seem to find time to read 12 pages. The reason I picked this bible over so many others is that there isn't as many footnotes as there are in others. So far I really enjoy reading it.

What a wonderful study, and one I think will affect me for years to come. This is something that was on my "bucket list" to do - to read through the Bible from cover to cover. In some ways, it was more difficult than I expected, b/c the Bible is HARD TO READ in places, but it has been a blessing beyond what I can express here.
Highly recommended, though I do suggest you do this with a group. It helps to have the encouragement of others! And also, the DVDs are very useful!

Great format for reading through the entire Bible. 12 pages per day is very manageable and you'll find that you'll probably get through it in less than 90 days because you'll start knocking out multiple days in a sitting. This exercise gives you a great overview of the Bible for use in understanding further studies.

Can't get enough reading two days each day. Enjoy! Seeing the story of God told over, and over again is amazing His love shines forth even for rebels. Learning to weave each new telling together for better understanding! Touching peoples lives and finding brave men to speak for Him in terrible times!

Wow - I finally finished - I went over the 90 days, but I finished! What an experience. I'm so glad I read it all - cover to cover! Thank you to my church, LPC, for encouraging all of us to do this.

A must read! I've read most of the Bible before this, but reading it cover to cover is so different. It really puts everything is a different and clear perspective. It was a lot of work to read everything in 90 days, but it was worth it. N

Reread September 2019 - December 2019
I still struggle with certain sections in large chunks. I ended up skipping Chronicles and coming back to them. I also rearranged the gospels reading Luke and Acts together and reading all of John's books together.

Over 200 people in our worship family are reading this text together. We are loving the journey through Scripture together. I think we would all recommend reading together with a large group.
