Former high school teacher and university lecturer, Suze E Prescot (aka Essey Nelson) has lived and worked in Lancashire (according to its original boundaries) her whole life.
She loves cats and horses, and is, in fact fond of all animals. She loves reading, often reading five or more stories a week. She has no fave type of story, and her bookshelves boast detective and mystery, crime and spy, science fiction and fantasy, and plenty of humour. From Shakespeare, Austen and the Brontës, to modern indie authors, if its well-written, she will read it.
Despite her catholic tastes, she tends to write romance, and will happily argue that most fiction falls under that banner.
Her heroes are strong and wonderful men - on the inside at least! While her heroines are intelligent, capable, yet often naïve and pure whatever their age.

terrific small town romance 🥰

This is one of the better small town romances that I have ever read. It has a very nice setting and I really liked the main characters as well as the secondary characters. I enjoyed the story very much and I thought it was very well written and I read it pretty much straight through and finished it in one day.

This is the first in a planned series set in Hope County. The opening and the title were inspired by a Toby Keith song.

Seriously, self-praise is no recommendation, but I just re-read this for the first time since it was released in December - and I loved it!

LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

There are some books that you know will be embedded in your heart forever. Locking Down Forever is one of them for me. From the moment Casey and Sheridan met, there was an instant sizzling connection but there was so much more to their relationship. I absolutely adored how well the author depicted the small town feel and the relationships each main character had with their family and friends. Of course, there are a few bumps in the road but watching them work through it together makes the conclusion so much sweeter. This book definitely locked down my heart. It is a must read!

Oh, man! Another engaging story from Suze! Suze has created a wonderful, heartwarming read. I loved it all! Sheridan and Casey's story is beautifully written. It grabbed me on page 1. Charming and heartfelt. Angsty. Sheridan and Casey's chemistry is sizzling and spicy. This story is just the right mix of heat and raw emotion. Do yourself a favor. Grab your favortie beverage, find a comfortable chair, and dive into this book. It's deserving of your reading time. Highly recommend.

I absolutely adored Casey and Sheridan's story.

Casey is a cowboy who has the reputation of tapping it and moving on. Sheridan was new to Hope, TX after ending a relationship in NYC.

Casey noticed Sheridan when he walked into the bar. She was talking to someone else but he felt an immediate attraction to her. Casey is such a player and Sheridan knows it!!! Sheridan agrees to go with Casey to his hotel room.

Casey couldn't forget that one night. One reason is because Sheridan snuck out before Casey woke up, so there was no ending to the one night stand. I don't think Casey every experienced not ending the hookup on his terms.

It wouldn't take long for them to see each other again, since the town was small. Sheridan also met some of Casey's past conquests, which proves to be very interesting!

Sheridan and Casey both have interesting backstories, which I didn't see coming. Sheridan was raised by her Aunt Martha and Casey's young life brought tears to my eyes. I also loved how the supporting characters were all intertwined since Hope, TX is a small town.

Some of my favorite quotes:
". . . and eyes I’ve been repeatedly told are mesmerising. I say repeatedly, but that isn’t the word used by most of my hook-ups; to be honest, it’s a big word for the little fluffy brains of the girls I usually . . . , but I get the message." - Casey

"He had promised me a good time, and I was as sure as I could be that I was going to get it." - Sheridan

"And secondly, that if we have met and you are newly interested in me, that you are so self-involved that when you hook-up with a woman, you either don’t do seconds or they are not worth you recalling them." - Sheridan "Love her no nonsense” - Casey

"What little I have left of him, I keep in here.” She placed her hand on her heart. “I treasure him; keep him close." - Aunt Martha

"Afterwards I cried, our reunion so moving that I could not handle it." - Sheridan

I loved how Suze wrote the book with alternating chapters from Casey's POV and then Sheridan's. The story does have a HEA.
