What chance would a penniless grandfather have in finding his kidnapped granddaughter if hundreds of FBI resources had not been successful?
A story of Secrets, Lies, and Deceptions which pushes people from different worlds together to hopefully save the lives of two young college women who have been kidnapped. For six years young women from ten western states had been disappearing. Ninety-six disappeared without a single ransom request, and not one body had been recovered. Six different FBI task forces operate in the ten western states to address nothing but the disappearances of young women under specific circumstances.
Secrets, lies, and deception, any one of them could destroy a marriage, all are used by government agencies to protect their investigations and intelligence, and criminals use them all to hide behind. Fortunately, an FBI agent, who happened to be a single mom on one of the task forces, confides some Not Authorized information with the grandfather. The door of secrets had been cracked open. The penniless grandfather has no option but to pursue secret after secret. Secrets lead to lies, lies lead to deceptions, and deceptions lead to secrets.
This story, like the first Jake Littleton adventure, will challenge the everyday thoughts, beliefs, and morals of the reader. This is the second story in The Jake Littleton Series following Revenge…No Statute of Limitations.
Neal Whitney Gentry, age 74. BS East Texas State University, 1967; MS Air Force Institute of Technology, Ohio,1973; retire Lt. Colonel US Air Force; retired President of Bradner National Dallas, a paper merchant selling paper to commercial and forms printers, Member of Northeast Texas Writer’s Organization.
Another amazing and wild ride with author Whit Gentry. "Not authorized" is an extremely fast paced page turner. This mystery/ thriller is action packed from beginning to end. "Not authorized" delves into the world of white slavery as it begins with the kidnapping of 2 college students in Colorado. The FBI is badly stumped as hope for the safe return of the girls gets more remote. However, through the perseverance of one of the girls's Grandfather hidden wheels are turned into motion. The story takes the reader from Colorado to San Diego and into Mexico. Entering the story is one rich man with the determination to do what it takes to help two former Marines go and do what the FBI cannot. Very difficult to put down I just had to keep going to it's conclusion. Plenty of action and some heartbreak within this story. Author Whit Gentry is fast becoming a favorite author to follow. His "Jake Littleton" series is a winner. Can't wait to read his next book. Please do yourself a huge favor and read the first 2 of Gentry's "Littleton series (" Revenge....No Statue of Limitations" was first) Without a doubt 5 stars out of 5 ! A crazy roller coaster ride thoroughly enjoyed !!Don't pass up on this writer.
I opened up my mailbox today to find a copy of this book inside and immediately started to do my happy dance (glad nobody was watching)! ha ha! I cannot wait to see what Jake Littleton is up to next! :)
I really enjoyed this book. It was more of an action-thriller than a mystery, but nonetheless, a great book. Jake Littleton somehow manages to gets himself in the middle of a rescue attempt to retrieve two young women kidnapped to be sold as sex slaves in Mexico. Along the way, they uncover a lot more than they bargained for! This book could easily be made into a action movie staring Nicolas Cage portraying Jake Littleton. Definitely worth the read!
Sally Whitmore and Abby Toliver, two college girlfriends, weekly rode their mountain bikes out in the Preserve in Colorado. When Sally didn’t show up to take a college test, one of her friends insisted to law enforcement that the two girls were missing and Sally’s car was found parked in the Preserve. Down the trail their mountain bikes were found, one having its tire punctured by a bullet. Sheriff Mack Fletcher of Glenwood Springs, CO. along with seventy-two searchers searched the area, but found nothing other than some size twelve men’s footprints. Over the past six years ninety-six young women were missing in the southwestern United States. Their bodies were never found and ransom was never demanded and it became obvious that there was a well organized group who, after the kidnappings, were able to move these young women to Mexico where they were sold as sex slaves. Although a local man was suspected, law enforcement could never prove anything on him.
The captive girls isolated in cells from each other, did nothing but cry for a day and night until they found they could hear each other by screaming through their joint trash vent. They had no idea why they were there.
One of the girl’s grandfather, Bill Toliver, managed to receive information NOT AUTHORIZED from one law enforcement officer, plus other retired law enforcement officers in Colorado, California and Mexico who were NOT AUTHORIZED to give information to Bill do so. To get these girls back, two tough ex-military men, an ex-Marine and an ex-Navy Seal were hired to go after the girls when they were located through Toliver’s leaked information.
Throw all of these different agencies and behind-the-scenes characters in the plot and you have a page turner of unique sequences and actions, which never seem to end. As in his first novel, “Revenge…Statute of Limitations,” the author can think of the most extraordinary scenes to further enhance the drama and polarization of the story. I heartily recommend this book to all who like action thrillers with new twists.

Sex Slaves, Kidnapping, Torture, Murder
Sally Whitmore and Abby Toliver, two college girlfriends, weekly rode their mountain bikes out in the Preserve in Colorado. When Sally didn’t show up to take a college test, one of her friends insisted to law enforcement that the two girls were missing and Sally’s car was found parked in the Preserve. Down the trail their mountain bikes were found, one having its tire punctured by a bullet. Sheriff Mack Fletcher of River County, Glenwood Springs, CO. along with seventy-two searchers searched the area, but found nothing other than some size twelve men’s footprints. Over the past six years ninety-six young women were missing in the southwestern United States. Their bodies were never found and ransom was never demanded and it became obvious that there was a well organized group who, after the kidnappings, were able to move these young women to Mexico where they were sold as sex slaves.
Filmore Jenkins of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, an ex-con and pedophile, was suspected of being involved, which he was, but he was so well organized, law enforcement could never prove anything on him. Filmore had been watching these two girls’ habits for awhile and so he was able to accost them on their trail ride, with a gun forced them off, tied them up and marched them two miles through the woods to some acreage he owned in the mountains. This is how Filmore made his living and at $150,000 per girl, he usually kept his kidnappings at least two years apart. Thus he had special quarters for his hostages in a small wooden shack on his property, underneath which he had built a basement with two cells, totally insulated, with a commode, a trash outlet, hot and cold water, a cot, sufficient food and supplies for thirty days and a generator that provided light twelve hours a day and total blackness twelve hours a day. He warned the girls to be careful of their food for he would be gone for thirty days. The girls, of course, isolated from each other, did nothing but cry for a day and night until they found they could hear each other by screaming through their joint trash vent. They had no idea why they were there.
The FBI and all law enforcement agencies had been seeking these kidnappers for several years, but couldn’t break into it. This story encompasses Abby’s grandfather Bill Toliver, who is old and poor, but stirs up enough sympathy that as time passes, first one law enforcement officer gives him information NOT AUTHORIZED about some other person who can help him financially meet the extravagant expenses to find these girls, plus other retired law enforcement officers both in the Colorado, California and Mexico who are NOT AUTHORIZED to give information to Bill, which they do. The Mexican cartel who buy and sell these girls are a dangerous mafia. In order to fight them or get the girls back, two tough, determined, well experienced men, Manny Ortez, an ex-marine who was honorably discharged because he managed to fight his way in anywhere, no matter how unorthodox, and his buddy, ex-Navy Seal Steve Scott were hired at great cost. The two men had been together for two years in Afghanistan and three years with Mountain Global Security, for whom they now worked.
Read this book, but it and all of the books for sale!
A fabulous author, if you enjoy reading storIes that captivate You.. Then these books are for everyone, that time spent reading great creative, interesting novels like these! But these books, worth the cost!
Jake Littleton is back. We met him in the first Whit Gentry book. Jake is more of a bit player in this book. Women are being abducted and Jake finds himself drawn into the seedy human trafficking trade.
Whit paints some pretty despicable villains. His hero’s are also questionable folks. Whit writes a story that portrays a current version of rough western justice.
Old Testament justice is central to the theme of the book. The bad guys discover that without the rule of law they are susceptible to the same type of violence that they so glibly dish out.
Two private contractors, ex-military, are the Warriors in a very black op that until you read the book is information that is NOT Authorized!
Whit Gentry is crafting a niche with his gritty fiction. The nature of his characters reflect the real emotions that normal people would have when faced with horrendous circumstances. Most people would not have the courage or fortitude to purse the course taken by Jake and Bill Toliver.
Once again Whit Gentry has evoked emotion with his story telling. He, again, has made a masterful display of creative ambivalence that characterizes the plot. Intellectually I find much the protagonists did very wrong but emotionally I can see the needful justification for the greater good.
This is an excellent book, number two in a series, that will make you stop and think, while you question all you believe as morally right and wrong. What would you expect people to do,how far to go,in looking for your family member? We follow characters as they try to locate some kidnapped young ladies, from a grandfather to a senator. Many people assist along the way,and we can feel the conflicts they go through as they do whatever has to be done to receive information to help find the girls.Nothing is easy, and life is not usually black and white, this author lets you feel what is like to live in the grey, even for a short period of time. Highly recommend to all,who are ready to feel a book,to open to the words, and ready to question your values and morals as you ask yourself, how far would I expect a person to go when searching for MY child?
A must read novel by all. This was one of the books I won in the giveaway. I truly enjoyed reading this novel and look forward to reading more by this author and more of the Jake Littleton Series. I honestly this this would make one helluva movie. The story behind this novel can and most likely is happening right here in the United States which is pretty darn scary to say the least.
NOT AUTHORIZED is the MOST exciting book I've read in such a long time.
The largest roller coaster ride of my life. I LOVED this novel. I can't wait to purchase VANISHED from Amazon. I have other books lined up to read but they will just have to wait. NOT AUTHORIZED is the MOST exciting book I've read in such a long time. Mr. Gentry, you did it all perfectly
