What I appreciate about Nemain is that she knows her flaws and doesn’t hide who she is. She may be tough on the exterior (sometimes a little blo0dthirsty), incredibly reckless, but is also loyal to a fault and is always unapologetically herself.
I always have the best time returning to this world with these characters. The different relationships Nemain has with her found family is so unique and dynamic. Our feline shifter FMC is as snarky as ever and her relationship with a certain hot MMC has quickly evolved since the events in the dragon realm. I loved this slow burn romance 🔥

A Shift in Death is the sixth book in this amazing romantasy series. This queer-normative world is filled with magic, action, spicy romance, and adventure!
I loved diving back into this wild, heart-stopping, jaw-dropping series. It introduced me to some of my favorite characters of all time!

Wow! Can I just say, this series has been amazing. I originally rated each book a 4 or 4.5, but I'm changing it and rating the series a 5 overall. I have just had such a great time reading and listening to this series! I love all of these characters. Nemain is one of my favorite FMCs. Maybe it's because I love cats so much and she is a feline shifter. She just acts like I imagine a sassy cat would if they were a human. It seriously cracks me up. I love Jinx and Luna, Magos, Mikhail, Kaysea, Pele, Niall, Sigrun and her animal companions- honestly, the characters are just so great. I'd have to name them all and we just don't have time for that. You will just have to meet them yourself! However, I'm really scared of Isabeau. She. Is. Terrifying. I'm curious to see what happens with her.
You like legends? This series has ALL of them! Fae, Greek, Norse, Egyptian, and tons of others! I have been introduced to all sorts of things I have never heard of, as well as my favorites. Lots of fun characters, a sassy feline shifter, a super sexy vampire, a grumpy grimalkin that can curse you with bad luck, and so many more!
The authors note says there will be ELEVEN in the series! Maddox is a maniac! However, I'm happy it isn't going to end! There are so many interesting side characters that the material is there for several books. Keep in mind, not all of them are full books, a few are novellas and great additions to the series.

Let me just say this series has become my personality! This is book 6 in the series and I just cannot get enough. The character development and world building just keeps getting better and better! I love how we get new characters that join the band of misfits in every book.
Cian and Dante have been kidnapped. Between the vampires and the cruel GODS I don’t know which is worse. Nemain will stop at nothing to protect her family and keep them safe, including sacrificing something herself. A shift in death takes you on a wild ride through some of the characters twisted pasts as well as entering the death realm and the hidden realm of the GODS. Nemain and Mikhail’s relationship continues to blossom and their banter is unrelenting, I am here for it! There are some spicy scenes but overall this book takes you on an epic adventure. A sacrifice is made by one of the characters that I adore and I can’t wait to see how they get out of this one. (Rumor has it he has his own story coming in one of the future books in the series) We also finally get to meet Ashling, the new MerQueen and hot damn is she a force! That epilogue!! 🤯🤯
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for an epic fantasy adventure with a mature stab happy FMC and A Wicked MMC that supports it! Love love love this series.

This will forever be a series that a highly recommend to everyone, each book builds on the foundation create a world full of amazing characters, interweaving plot lines and a vast magical system and lore. This book was another incredible edition to the series and despite being a book that fully demands your attention I read it in one sitting, it was so good!
Every time I come back to this series, it is so easy to fall back into a story with characters that we know and love. The pacing of the book was perfect and the flow from one event to the next felt effortless. These books have to have the largest amount of characters that are repeatedly involved in the story that I have ever read but Maddox makes it so easy to remember each character and form attachments with them, this truly is one of my favourite parts of this series.
I adore Nemain, she is such a strong presence and a perfect main character for the story, her crass language and give no f*cks attitude is so perfect and it makes her so easy to love. We get to explore her developing relationship with Mikhail further in this book and it is wonderful to get to see both the possessive and vulnerable side of both of these characters. As well as getting more of these two we also explore more of the characters within the group as well as meeting more characters and this really helps the story feel incredibly well rounded.
The storyline was perfect, it felt like a natural progression of the story and an important part to help us understand characters better. Having an action packed storyline like this one means that it demands your attention but the pages fly by. I enjoyed every second and can’t wait to see where the story goes next with so many doors left open.

As with all the other books in this series, I absolutely loved this book. I cannot get enough of Nemain and her wild bunch of beautiful souls. They make my heart so happy. Maddox Grey has found her niche with found family and giving it a true definition, pure and loving friendship, showing that not all family is blood. The bonds that are formed, even with side characters are meaningful and each is given their time to shine. I really love that about this series, and I cannot get enough of it. Fast paced, action packed, epic battles and all the adventure you can handle!!!
This part of the story picks up when Cian is kidnapped. But Nemain will stop at nothing to ensure that those she loves are safe. Okay, so I was already 100% obsessed with the Lost Legacies series, but after reading “A Shift in Death,” Maddox Grey has become one of my absolute favorite fantasy romance authors!
Our favorite feline shapeshifter Nemain is the main POV character in this book, and what I love about her is that she is unapologetically herself. She isn’t perfect and she makes mistakes, but she never claims otherwise or makes excuses for her actions.
There are a lot of characters to keep track of, but since this is book six in this series, that’s to be expected. I enjoy almost every important character in this series, but especially Mikhail and Magos. Magos is Mikhail’s uncle and Nemain’s father figure/long time friend, and Mikhail is her love interest.
As for Mikhail and Nemain, I just wanted to say that I really loved their relationship in this book. They had this brilliant slow burn buildup in the earlier books, and I’m so proud of how far they’ve come. To sum this up, I thought this was a fantastic read, and I’m so excited to see what happens next in this series!

Honestly it was a nice change of pace to very away from the fae a little bit and to get more of a look into all the characters past.
I love that Nemain got to see Myrna again and that she is still looking out for her. Honestly her knowing what she did still made my heart hurt.
The vampire brats, the boys in honestly disappointed in and they are going to get themselves hurt. I hope they in Katarina tbh too.
Finn and Isobeau are absolutely perfect and I love how powerful these children are. I hope as they grow older and they stay close. They are protective of each other and it will serve them well I think. I also love the show of their power in this book and them casually bringing up how they are going to ☠️ those who hurt the resident dad /grandad
I can not wait to see what happens with the merfolk. Things are heading up.

my favorite of this series yet !
Omg was it so great to be back with nemain the brat pack and the sexy vamp ! I absolutely adore how so much mythology blends so beautifully in these books and boy was there alot in this one ! 5 stars absolutely amazing and to see mikhail and nemain FINALLY together for a whole book was absolutely swoon worthy and hot !!! If you are just picking up this book and haven’t the the 5 before stop what you’re doing and go read those first as this is a continual story line and characters!! Fast paced ACTION packed and hot this book had it all !! And I truly can’t wait for the next book just that small glimpse of Ashling let’s me she’s gonna be a total boss and can’t wait to read her storyline !!

More slaughter parties, yes! We do love slaughter parties.
This series has got to be one of my favourites. I'm sad having come to an end of this one knowing I'll now have to wait until the next book comes out.
I loved the introduction of more gods and goddesses, I love that multiple mythologies are explored from Norse to Greek to Egyptian.
The banter as always is spot on. More than once I found myself giggling at something Nemain or someone referring to Nemain's insanity said.
And the epilogue! No spoilers but I'm absolutely looking forward to the story of those two. I know Maddox won't disappoint.

This is a highly addictive series that once started you will not be able to stop reading and this sixth book is every bit as good as the previous five. The world building continues to enthral, the storyline is well paced and exciting and out characters, well they kick ass! Nemain has found her family only to have Cian and Dante taken away, well watch out vampires and gods cause nothing is gonna stand in her way. It’s a little dark, it’s thrilling and it’s captivating and I am super excited to read more!

So much to love in this one! The found family element is ever present, but there are events that threaten to fracture this tight knit group over and over again. Battles were won and lost, but thankfully they all live to fight the war that still threatens them all.
I loved watching Nemain and Mikhail’s relationship blossom and develop into what it is now. And the blessing, and warning, from an ex was the icing on the cake.
But that is not the only relationship we get to see more of. Plus, with a new one on the horizon, and an ominous warning of fate, I can’t wait to see what comes next.

First, Morally Grey are my favorite character types! I love that they are not perfect and I completely love reading about them! There is never a dull moment! Take Gods and Vampires and throw them together in a story, and you get this, a fantastic thrill ride that kept me glued to my kindle! I Loved It!!! I Highly Recommend! No Spoilers! No Blurb Repeats! Need More!

A book about a shifter that doesn't shift. A group that fights the Gods. And to fill the pages he adds sex details like he is attempting to describe a porn movie. I have a computer that can find better sex images and movies than he can describe. His sex comments don't add anything to the plot, and are used to fill in pages which I have to skip. I am done with this series, and this author. Maddox Grey had now been added to authors I won't read or recommend.

This series lives rent free in my head. I was excited to get more of Cian and Hades backstory as well as the character advancements with the rest of the band of misfits. Already impatiently awaiting the next adventure for our group.

I absolutely love this series! Nemain is such a fascinating character. The writing is excellent! The story is superb! The world and all the characters are vividly written!

Nemain and her friends go head-to-head against the vampires and gods in their efforts to rescue Cian and Dante, who have been kidnapped.
This is a series with fully-formed, mature and powerful characters. Nemain is one of the “good guys”, but this hasn’t always been the case. Her dark past, and her ruthless brand of justice in the present, make her an interesting and multi-dimensional character. The supporting characters are equally engaging and fleshed out.
The pace is unrelenting, the writing both witty and dark. There are a couple of spicy scenes, but the main focus of the story is on the action (with a splash of romance). I enjoyed the book thoroughly and highly recommend it for fans of contemporary fantasy with a healthy dose of action adventure.

Another excellent episode in the life of our favourite shifter and her band of misfits. This time they take on the might of the Gods and the Vampires in order to return their loved ones to the fold.
