There's another human in Pandemon, and the moment I first lay eyes on her, I know she's destined to be mine. I have to have her. Even though she swears she doesn’t do feelings, I vow to make her fall for me. To bond with me. To be my mate.
It won't be easy. I'm a minotaur. My reputation was destroyed by a tragedy, and I have walked alone since then, trying in vain to find joy. Purpose. A reason to live.
Now, I've found her. Maddie. She's come to a dangerous place, but I'll protect her with everything I have. I would do anything to prove my love, no matter what it costs me. And when I discover why she came to Pandemon, the price becomes clear:
My heart. My happiness. My everything.
In other words…
Her.

USA Today bestselling author Tabitha Black has been writing erotic spanking fiction for over a decade, mostly in the age-play and historical genres. More recently, she's discovered the joys of writing more contemporary, edgier books with a greater emphasis on BDSM – one of which, Sharing Silver, has been nominated for a Golden Flogger award and won the Spanking Romance Reviews award for best ménage 2015.
Having lived in four countries on three different continents, and been an active participant in her local kinky communities, she likes to "write to discover what she knows". Her own personal kinks include anything and everything to do with spanking, fireplay, edge play, scarification, age-play, and too many more to count. Some girls like wood, some adore leather, but Tabitha is partial to big, shiny, ornate knives… nothing else makes her quite as weak at the knees.
She lives in Europe with her Daddy/Sir, and a lilac cat who likes to sneeze in her face. She has a weakness for great cappuccino; strong, dominant, kind but brutally sadistic men (and counts herself amazingly lucky to have found one in real life); brilliant books, and tattoos.

Gleeful Goblin Review: I absolutely cannot get over how much I enjoyed this book and I'm stoked to have been an ARC reader for it. I'm a total sucker for a big scary looking grump who is a secret cinnamon roll for his sweetie and this book hits that mark beautifully. I adored the world building, almost a Through The Looking Glass type feel to the series so far in the best way. FMC is dealing with some pretty heavy abandonment feels and especially at the start of the book is determined to not let anyone close to her, especially anyone she could care for, because of having lost her best friend (FMC in a prior book in case you haven't yet read it) very suddenly and without explanation. So she has her guard all the way up already and that's before she's even dumped into a magical world! But once she is there and MMC connects with her he is one smitten kitten and it is ADORABLE. But smitten as he is..... He can totally turn up that growly factor and it's just **fans self**. The power exchange aspect between MCs is blisteringly hot and I loved the fact that safe wording was established right away even in the midst of things ramping up. #EnthusiasticConsent is definitely in play and I am here for it. FMC is 100% a brat and she's proud of it and while that's not my jam it is totally what flicks MMC's switch and produces enough steam to fill a bathhouse.
The book also has some really amazing working through family trauma (scapegoat/golden child dynamics) and learning to stand on your own afterwards. I absolutely loved this book and if any of what I've written sounds like fun PICK UP THIS BOOK! 5/5 Stars
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Burn: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Darkness Level: 🤍 Heat Rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Genre: Fantasy Romance POV: Dual 👫 Ending: HEA Tropes: he falls first, rut, third act breakup Kinks: prehensile tail, 🍑 play, BDSM, Dom/sub, brat, 🐓 warming, degradation, discipline, impact play, forced orgasms, praise, spanking TW: FMC has past history involving family member murder-suicide, off page but mentioned. MMC also witnessed murder, off page, but described.
So I have mixed feelings about this book. I really didn’t like Maddie, the FMC. She has a traumatic past and her coping mechanism is that she doesn’t believe in love or relationships. While she does experience character growth by the end, this is such a huge part of her personality and inner monologue and I really wanted to talk to her therapist. But, that said, I loved Darad so much. He also grows during the story and I just wanted to snuggle him. The world building was great and the spicy scenes were HOT. Darad may be a pushover in his regular life, but he’s a sexy Dom in the bedroom. These scenes were where I liked Maddie best, as she bratted her way to some delicious punishments. The side characters were pretty well developed and interesting. No major plot or grammar errors/typos. All in all, I will for sure read more of this series and more by this author. It was just that Maddie wasn’t for me. But the rest is so good, I would still recommend this story, and this author, to others.
I received a copy of the book from the author, but my review is entirely voluntary and honest.
My goodreads shelves might be considered spoilers, so look at your own risk!
After reading a mysterious message on her missing best friend's laptop, Maddie finds herself mysteriously portaled to another world. The first person she meets in Pandemon is Darad, a minotaur who is instantly smitten with Maddie. One thing leads to another, and she brings out the dominant side of him, in and out of the bedroom. However, Darad has a secret that could prevent Maddie from finding her best friend in this new world. Seeing Ariel's wellbeing for herself is the only thing keeping Maddie in Pandemon, right? It has nothing to do with the minotaur who makes her heart skip a beat, right?
✨️ So Ariel's story is book one, Enticed by the Orc, and I haven't read it yet. PbtM can be read as a standalone, but I feel like a lot of important world building happens in book 1, so I had to flounder for a few pages along with Maddie. However, that did not distract me from how delicious this story was! Darad is such a dom daddy minotaur, and Maddie might be convinced to finally catch feelings for a guy. I loved their dynamic, in and out of the bedroom. She's such a brat, and he's such a powerhouse. I loved the world of Pandemon and all the friends we made along the way. I don't know Ariel well, but seeing her happy was lovely. Sometimes, you just need to talk to your bestie to feel better. It did wonders for Maddie. I'm running to this author's blacklist because if her other works are anything like this story, I'm in for a good time.
Tabitha Black has become one of my favorites and I was so happy to read her new book in her Monsters with Benefits series. This is the story of Darad and Maddie, and if one could pull off a cinnamon roll, devoted and huge af Minotaur MMC, that's T.B.
Big, grumpy and intimidating, Darad is a stubborn male set on his ways, that keeps clear of his tribe's community, carring secrets from a painful past.
Maddie is a human woman that literally fell into his world, determined to find her best friend (Ariel from Enticed by the orc). She's strong headed, self sufficient and does anything to stay away from emotional attachment.
Their chemistry is off the charts, I adored how their relationship developed and I'm very pleased by the author's approach to mental and emotional struggles.
Can I just say I LOVE these series covers? Physical copies are a NEED.
I'd rather not spoil the book at all, will just mention out some points:
💜 Dual POV/HEA 💜 Cinnamon roll MMC 💜 Brat FMC 💜 He falls first 💜 Praise
This is the first book of Tabitha Black that I have read and I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Darad is such a sweet and gentle monster with that dominant side that would be so fun to enjoy. I was invested in his development in regard to his self worth and his relationship with his family. I also enjoyed the supporting characters such as the fairies and the Bilrod and Bren. My only drawback was Maddie. I felt that she wasn’t fully developed. She clearly had trauma that led to her fear of love but it wasn’t revealed why which made it more difficult to sympathize with her feelings. She clearly had a wall and a need for independence but there wasn’t enough depth to her feelings in the book. I enjoyed that she was open and free with her sexuality. I also liked the depth of feeling from the male characters because a lot of times in books their feelings are swept away. I will need to read more from her now.

4.8/5 Just as good as the first. It did drag a little bit at the end. But it was very sweet.
I took issue with the fact that they gave her a really long, sad history (father killed her mother and then himself, and she was found as a toddler with her dead parents) and a major point of conflict between the FMC & MMC was about his lack of openness and honesty with her about his past. But then it seems like she never shares her past with him???
Monster. Different peen. Massive cock. Stuffing and stretching. Orgasm denial. Light BDSM. Cum tastes like cinnamon. Huge load.
Sex by the 25% mark. Reverse grumpy/sunshine. She is the commitment-phobe. He loves her at first sight. Redemption arc for Darad (though the redemption being he was innocent all along is a little bit lazy).

Maddie is searching for her roommate who disappeared leaving her keys, purse and phone. A mysterious message says she is OK, but that is not comforting. Suddenly Maddie finds herself in a new world; facing a minotaur.
Minotaur Darad, has taken responsibility for something his brother has done, causing him to be kept on the outskirts of life. Saving a nomagi results in protective feelings. He understands who Maddie is looking for, but her roommate is with the brother of the man his brother killed. Admitting this would have Maddie thinking he is a killer.
Complicated, other-wordly, steamy, romantic and entertaining - all good things found here!
***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****
Strangely preferred this one to the first book in the series. It didn't try to do too much in a short time and really focused on one small event to build everything around. It was definitely more about the relationships and the development of the characters than a big adventure or lots of strife.
Maddie was strong and fiercely independent and it was nice to see her slowly open herself up and allow herself to be helped and taken care of. Darad honestly learned self respect in this book and god did he need to and it really benefited him. He was still super kind, caring and helpful but without being a doormat. I liked that the truth around the murder came out and that this resolved itself.
Protected by the Minotaur is second book in the Monsters with Benefits series. Darad was introduced in the first book and I was excited to read his story.Darad is a cinnamon roll with a dominant side in the bedroom. He falls first head over heels in love with Maddie, a human who is jaded about love. Throughout the book I was cheering her on to give Darad a chance. I loved everything about this: a story that pulls the reader into this new world, forced proximity, one bed, adventure, witty banter, a hero that would do absolutely everything for his girl and hella spicy chemistry in the bedroom. I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Maddie has been issuing her friend Ariel who disappeared (Enticed by the Orc) so when she discovers a message from Ariel and says the worlds aloud then after going to sleep she wakes up in a whole new world of Pandemon she meets Darad a Minotaur with secrets of his own but is so kind, caring and determined to keep Maddie close and Maddie is just as determined to not to break her heart by caring or loving Darad while on a mission to find her friend…definitely a sweet spicy romantic read…
Darad was such a sweetheart that I was rooting for him from the moment I've gotten into his head. His dominant side was rather hot, I liked these smutty scenes better than the ones from the first book, they didn't make me a bit uncomfortable like the ones before ;) Maddie was alright, but I didn't love her like I did Darad. The secondary characters were great too, especially wizard Bilrod and Aunty Bren.
Darad was introduced in Book 1. In this book you get to read about who Darad really is: a sweet, caring, wonderful Minotaur male with a honking laugh who is all about his female, Maddie. Their reluctant journey towards love (on Maddie’s end…not Darad’s…dude knew what he wanted) made for an entertaining book. My interest was definitely kept and I look forward to more!
I really enjoyed this book. I love a big softy who is a "beast" in the bedroom. After Maddie receives a message from Ariel, who disappeared from earth. She wakes up in a new land. Meeting a soft but strong Minotaur called Darad. The pair embark on a discovery into themselves and love. I was so honoured to read this as an ARC. Looking forward to the next book from Tabitha Black
Okay i loved darad, loved maddies sassy attitude and how shes so hesitant. Darad went wrong in alot of ways but he has such a good heart. I mentioned that the first book was not that great because of the relationship development. But with this book it was done perfectly cant wait to see more characters from this world!
I was so excited for this book after reading enticed by the orc. And it did not disappoint. I love a cinnamon roll beast who is all in for his mate. The spice was on point and the story kept me interested. Such a good, easy read.
This was a really fun story to read. Lots of interesting secrets, twists, and fun characters. Magically entering a new realm only to find it advanced, yet primitive and having her world rocked…Maddie finds herself in quite the metal/emotional dilemma. Lots of yummy heat and escapades too.
This series continues with Maddie and Darad’s story. This is a feel good monster romance, I love the reverse sunshine/grump trope and this book absolutely delivered that. Magnificent world building with a plot that holds your attention the whole time.
The book has the right amount of spice and a great storyline as well. I loved how there were several love stories tied into one book because it showed that the author can divert from the main storyline without muddying the main character. This was an overall heart felt and melting book.
This is book 2 in the Monsters with benefits series. This was ridiculously hard to finish. I did not like the characters. I just was not in love with this.
Maddie is pissed, her friend and roommate has disappeared, and her benefits (they are NOT friends) has caught feelings. Maddie gets home and stumbles upon a funny message from Ariel on Ariel’s laptop saying that she’s happy? When Maddie wakes up, she’s decidedly NOT in her bed and there is some wild creature making noises. Darad runs across Maddie and falls head over heels for this incredible female who doesn’t look at him with aversion. Darad is the disgraced minotaur that everyone blames for the death of an Orc, but the story isn’t that simple. I love how Darad and Maddie communicate, even when Maddie’s brain does some serious exercising jumping to conclusions based on her past, but when faced with truths, she learns to adapt, and because of her past, she is capable of seeing Darad’s true nature and situation with a more open eye than she can see her own situation. Highly recommend for those who like the Orc Sworn series, Morning Glory Milking Farm and other monster romance books. This probably could be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading Enticed by the Orc first. Both of these titles are on Kindle Unlimited. Thank you to Tabitha for the free eARC, this is my honest opinion of the book. 4.5 stars
This book was such an easy read and I was hooked from the start. The way Maddie refused to accept love, but Darad never giving up was so sweet and I think it’s impossible for anyone to fall in love with Darad’s honking laughter! It was very spicy, but it also had an awesome plot!
Protected by the minotaur Its a sweet PNR book, loved the plot. The plot was well balanced. Darad is so sweet and careing. The book was a easy read, loved the book! Spice 5/5🔥 Burn 4/5 Plot 5/5
Protected by the Minotaur is a sweet and relatively quick read (despite being 250 pages)
I absolutely love Darad. He is such a cinnamon roll wrapped up in a burly, sexy package. Darad can whip out some delicious dominance for very spicy action but he also starts the book out with caring about others to the detriment of himself. He is a depressed hunk of sunshine and has to learn self-respect with the help of a couple friends.
Maddie is jaded. She's a bubbly, bratty grump. Eager to jump in bed but no belief in romantic love to the extent of being insulting. At the beginning, I thought Maddie might be aromantic but she actually was a combination of just not having met someone who made her want to let them in and needing to learn that romantic love is real. I found her a bit tough of a character to relate to but her development was well done.
A very good read with spice and personal development that was super satisfying. I definitely recommend :)
