The writing itself was fine but the story dragged. The bulk of the story was told via internal narration. 🥱 It was a very predictable and typical Mills and Boon plot. I'm afraid I stopped reading part way through. I've read a couple of fabulous suspense books written by this author in the last few days and it's easy to see this book is an earlier work. Such a pity this one didn't catch my attention.

Dragging story and simply no compassion.
Just a lot of confusing thoughts and assumptions by characters
