I used this for one pattern and loved it. I would say this book is for an advanced beginners to intermediate. The plastic rings were hard for me to find in a color that wasn't super bright, so I used metal rings.

The author needs to add drawings showing HOW to attach the stitches to the central plastic ring; it is not a common stitch and therefore should be illustrated since it is the essential step for every project. The book is useless without this information.
I only have very basic crochet experience but even I was able to follow the instructions. I plan to make some of these for next Christmas as the resulting snowflakes are very pretty and classic. They are not at all kitsch like most crochet jewelry patterns on the market.
