"Mistletoe Detour," the latest entry in the Scottish Billionaire series by M. S. Parker, sends readers off on a hilarious, heartwarming holiday road trip.
Blaze Gracen, a renowned Johns Hopkins professor, gears up for a festive family shindig in sunny San Ramon. However, Mother Nature has other ideas, and a surprise winter storm leaves his flight stranded in not-so-tropical Chicago.
Enter Trisha Easton, a quick-witted New Yorker with a suitcase full of sass and a knack for turning lemons into spiked lemonade. Also stranded in Chicago, she opts for a daring, map-defying drive across the country to San Francisco – because who needs a flight when you've got audacity and a playlist of classic road trip tunes?
Their paths cross at a car rental counter more crowded than a Black Friday sale, leading to a spontaneous decision to travel together. Vowing to keep their pasts as hidden as their luggage in the trunk, they embark on a road trip filled with gut-busting banter and an undeniable sizzle that would thaw even the frostiest winter road.
But as they zigzag through snowy landscapes and quaint towns, Blaze and Trisha's laid-back "let's just be road trip buddies" agreement faces more challenges than a high school final.
This latest installment in the Scottish Billionaire series isn't just a story of unexpected romance but a holiday escapade with the possibility of lasting love. Will their journey end with a simple 'thank you for the memories,' or will the mistletoe work its festive magic?
Buckle up for "Mistletoe Detour," where love, laughter, and a sprinkle of holiday magic are just around the next snow-covered bend.

Another brilliant book in the fabulous Scottish Billionaire series and whilst it’s certainly a lot shorter than the others it still delivers.
Blaze is just deliciously dreamy and Trisha is sweet, bubbly and fun loving. Their unorthodox meeting and instant attraction is heartwarming and endearing. Thrown together by circumstance and some might argue ‘fate’, they spark a friendship that becomes easy and deep very quickly. Something just clicks between them and the rest of it is magical.
A road trip romance that was never meant to go anywhere… a twist of fate that further pushes them together and makes them realise that the end of the road doesn’t have to mean the end for them.
Loved this short and sweet novella. Definitely fills the heart with festive cheer, love and hope.
Wow another book to lose yourself in. Loved Blaze and Trisha. Loved their storyline and the connection between them. Their chemistry was off the charts sizzling 🔥 Loved how the weather had pushed them together. I thought it was wonderful for Trisha to help getting Blaze home th his Family. Would i have offered to share with him being a complete stranger....I don't think so. So happy their future was going forward and she had her Dad with her like she wanted. Happy we got to see the McCraes etc Family again. They really are a beautiful family. Each and every one of them has their little quirk and its nice to catch up and see how their doing.
This novel has elements of the rom com “when Harry met Sally” - 2 strangers on a cross-country drive. Of course they make a deeper connection than just driver/passenger. A snowstorm grounds planes in Chicago, the heroine rents the last available car in the airport. They find they are both headed to California, and agree to drive together so they can spell each other driving. They hit roadblocks along the way but triumph over all obstacles to find they don’t want to separate at journey’s end. Their banter and trysts along the way are entertaining, particularly because they agree not to talk about work or where they live. The characters and the journey are entertaining. I hope you enjoy this novel as much as I did.
Blaze and Trisha meet in the Chicago airport rental car line after all flights have been canceled because of a storm. She gets the last car. They decide to take the road trip together to California. They decide no deep personal information will be shared, and no mistletoe meet-cutes will be done. Well, well, well, such an interesting turn of more than one event takes place through this road trip, and even after it. Take the ride with them, and you won’t be disappointed.
Even short adventures can lead to long term results
Trisha and Blaze started from different locations but stalled out in the same place. A crazy encounter at an airport car rental place begins an even crazier cross country trip. Rules are settled on and off they go. Two strangers headed in the same direction for family gatherings. Weather can cause detours and delays when traveling, no matter how well you plan. Maybe this adventure was all in the works a along.
This a a wonderfully written, funny and heartwarming story. Take some time to enjoy it!
I have a love/hate relationship with these types of books. When they're all connected and all of a sudden, I'm learning about a character's 20 something relatives that all have their own book, it totally ruins the book. The story itself was okay, but a little unrealistic. You're telling me you're going to drive cross country with a stranger and hook up with them not knowing their background? Overall, it was a decent story, but it needed less mouthfuls of characters and more realism.
I beautiful love story. It seemed like a connection from the very beginning. Not even a long car ride interfered with the new feelings they were having. Even the the large family and. the presence of an old crush, and a match making aunt could keep the feelings at bay. The heart knows what it wants. They just had to forget the past and listen.
Wow, this was a great story. There is similarly between mivies, books and TV: stranded at the airport, renting a car, continuing the trip on the road with a another person tgat was just as eager to get to their respective destinations; friendship occurs and a happy ending (did I not say that this was a riveting story and experience). Truly a wonderful book
This was a great read. It was strangers to lovers who met in a car rental shop in an airport. Blaze and Laura were both grounded from the weather and shared a car. It is a great addition to the Scottish Billionaires
This was such a lovely feel-good book and not just for the holiday season. Well-crafted characters and a reintroduction to characters from The Scottish Billionaires series. One to read when you want a pick up and a change from some of the darkness.
I loved the sweet holiday story of an unlikely roadtrip that turns into more. It was adorable how the family is so accepting and how someone who doesn't have a big family can be so accepted by this big extended family. Great read for the holiday season.
I have loved each of the books in the series but this one touched my heart in a special way. I grew up in a loving family consisting of multiple generations and small families who came together in an amazing patchwork of love and support.
She's done it again, another great instalment to this story of the blended family, we welcome new members again, always great to catch up with them all.
