London When Nicholas Scott reentered my life, he brought back a flood of memories from our fling in Mexico. But I have a secret that could change everything – we have a son.
Nick I never expected to see her again, but she was still brilliant, beautiful, and in my office. I'm used to making tough decisions, but nothing compared to the emotional storm of discovering London had my baby and kept it a secret. Could we get a second chance to create a life together?
The Billionaire's Secret Baby is a standalone interracial BWWM love story.
London and Nick share a connection from the past, and their paths cross once more by chance when London takes on a consulting role. However, London harbors a secret that she is reluctant to divulge, yet fate seems determined to unravel it for her. The narrative style struck me as plain and somewhat convoluted, lacking a straightforward flow.
One of the notable aspects that left me wanting more was the characterization. In my opinion, the characters, especially Nick, seemed underdeveloped, lacking the emotional depth one might expect when discovering he is a father. London's decision not to actively seek out Nick also raised questions about her motivations. The narrative's pacing didn't contribute to a seamless flow, and the characters' development fell short of what I anticipated.
Despite the intriguing premise of a hidden secret and a chance reunion, the storytelling style didn't engage me fully. The characters' emotional landscapes appeared somewhat flat, hindering the overall impact of the story. I believe a more thorough exploration of the characters' emotions and motivations would have added depth to the narrative, making it a more immersive experience.
After 10 long years of separation London finally gets re introduced to her 9 year old son Ethan's father Nicholas Scott billionaire. Nick is not aware that his and London's one week affair in Mexico has produced a child.
Once Nick is told the truth. I really liked the way he spent lots of time with Ethan bonding with him and became a very good father. I also like the way London and Nick worked together as parents, sharing responsibilities!!
What I didn't like about the story was Ethan is 9 years old. Thats to old to keep a child separated from a parent. By that age children are pretty set in their ways. It leaves very little room for a new parent to influence the Childs life. Also, there is this constant contradiction about Ethans eye color. His eyes are gray, but sometimes it mentioned his eye are just like Nicks which are sky blue. Then its mentioned his eyes are like London's which are dark brown. Ethans eyes are Gray so they don't look like either of his parents. Why keep mentioning his eye color over and over when you don't have it correct in the storyline. It's just bringing attention to an error in the story that a proofreader should have fixed.
The title is a quote from Nick, expressing their love… They met ten years ago, they only exchanged first names, they had an unforgettable time in Mexico… it was what they wanted and needed at the time. They were always in each other’s thoughts, more so for London because she ended up with a little bundle of joy after 9 months. Fast forward, 10 years later they met again under professional circumstance unexpectedly, you know life has a way of aligning things 😜 I love Nick, but I hated the way he reacted at Ethan paternity, the harsh words were uncalled for … ‘were you trying for baby #2?!’ seriously, man! And I love London’s mature reaction to it 👏👏That woman is one heck of a woman, beautiful, intelligent, smart, professional… and a mama bear.
BTW, does London has any siblings, or is she an only child!? , the harsh parents were mentioned, but no other relatives.
This book I think is my favorite from these authors. First, I loved London! Her character was so well-rounded. Everything she did was to make sure that their son was happy, well-rounded, protected, loved, respectful, honest, and free to be himself. When Nick comes back into her life she knows she has to tell him the truth about Ethan. Ok. No spoilers! But this book was beyond a good read. To me, this book took it to a whole new level. " I loved how Nick's sister, Angie was always giving him much-needed advice regarding Ethan and/or London. She always has her back. All the drama, naught shenanigans, and funny moments that led to London, Nick, and Ethan's HEA are why I gave it 5 ⭐️. I highly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed.
I loved Nick. He knew as soon as he reconnected with London that he wanted her back in his life. And after he found out that he was her 'baby daddy' he wanted to be more. He wanted to be Ethan's dad, he wanted to be more than that, he wanted a family. He wanted London as much as he wanted Ethan. He became more then London was expecting, he became Ethan's friend, his dad, and his protector. Nick became an instant family man, he stepped up. for both of them. loved the book. Loved Nick.
Loved this tale here... Caldwell dug deep into all the variables that go into making a real relationship work. London is just pure gold...strong, independent, realistic. Both she and Nick had baggage but truly through no fault of their own. London's parents--😤 Wow..pathetic. Can't help but love how London & Nick worked through everything to make a union most want but never achieve. Bravo...👏
Nick wanted to be London’s beacon, to let her and Ethan know that he was their home in the storm of life. It took 9 years for London and Nick to meet again, because they didn’t know each other’s names and he didn’t know that on their first encounter that a bond, a lifeline was formed.
I enjoyed the author's characters and depth of development. The plot twists kept things moving along. It was nice to watch a strong female character learn how to love and trust again. The story was beautifully written and realistic about how to face unfamiliar challenges.
I really enjoyed Nick and London's second chance at love story. I also enjoyed Ethan. I would have given it 5 stars if the editing had not been so confusing about the color of all the main characters eyes. They each had blue or gray or brown maybe even green, very strange. I still recommend it as a good and sweet read
I liked how the story and the main characters were fleshed out and how the story progressed in a way that made sense. This was good storytelling that gave insight into the motivation of the main characters, including their flaws. I've signed up to follow both authors. Very enjoyable read.
Very well written, kept me tune in the while you book, loved how it touches on real problems the we women of color have in professional and personal lives, and how it is to be in a mix relationship, bravo well done, upbeat, funny in the right places, thoughtful in others. Altogether a wonderful read.
This is my first Mia Caldwell with Data Hunt book. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down! It is well written and I loved the storyline. I am looking forward to reading more by these authors!
This was a good story, and the characters were believable. I loved the chemistry between Nick and London it was smoking hot 🔥. It is worth reading and recommends my fellow romance readers to read it for yourself. You will not be disappointed.
There were some glaring inconsistencies in this book that impacted my total enjoyment of it. Ethan's age kept changing from 8 to 10, and the pronouns also kept changing as well, so much so that it hard to tell who was actually talking or thinking. The chapters would say "Nick", for example, but the conversation or thought would be told from London's perspective. At the end, though, is where it got very confusing. One minute, they're miles away from where they dropped off Ethan, and in the next sentence, they're watching him walk away. The story was cute, though. Unfortunately, I couldn't give it 5 stars.
Excellent storyline & Love how he had an amazing excellent relationship with his sister and that she comforted him & encouraged him to build a family life 😍😒
I loved everything about this book. The characters and storyline were great. I would definitely recommend this book to friends and family. I gave this book 5 stars because it kept my interest and was well written.
I have enjoyed reading about Nick and London journey to finding their love and their love for their son. Its emotion hits straight to the heart. I would definitely recommend this book to friends and families.
Good simple afternoon read of lost love, then after nine years you find love again, along with a set of grey eyes on a nine years old son . Past love can be rekindled if you meet a person again.
A beautiful story on second chances! Love can be better the second time around is the theme here. Landon’s parents were a piece of work! London did London and was better for it!
This was the first book I read by this author, and I can say, I was quite impressed. NICK & LONDON had a history and although they met 10 years ago, their feelings never changed. I like the chemistry between the pair, although London was very guarded with her feelings, I commend the way she allowed Nick to have a relationship with their son. Nick was a very lovable and easy-going MC. This was a good read, and I will be reading the rest of the series.
