Princess Crossover #2

Rapunzel Is Losing It

Rate this book
Victor and Cordelia take the lead in this sizzling sequel to the international bestseller Cinderella Is Faking It.

In over a decade, Cordelia Montgomery has barely left her house, where she has created a safe and comfortable bubble for herself.

Cordelia doesn’t go out. She has never dated. She can count her friends on one hand. And since coming into her inheritance, she runs a thriving charity foundation from the comfort of her own home. When her new duties with the foundation pile up, demanding more time and commitment, her safety bubble becomes more important than ever to balance out her racing thoughts.

It only takes three glasses of wine for that bubble to burst.
For her to kiss Victor, her bodyguard.
For him to pull away.

As Victor retreats to places where Cordelia can’t follow, her carefully constructed comfort zone no longer feels very comfortable. Victor is the one person who always makes her feel safe, and losing him isn’t an option.

Victor Yelchin thought he’d left his family behind for good, but after years of radio silence, his uncle is back in his life, and he wants Victor back in the family business.

Victor used to get in the ring for his uncle. The sport itself never mattered, merely a facade for the illegal trafficking and money laundering behind the scenes. When an injury almost took him out, Victor walked. And hid.
For six blissful years, he was nothing but the bodyguard to a gorgeous, headstrong heiress, and he would have been happy never leaving her side again.
But when his uncle wants him back, he can’t say no.

For the first time in his life, he has something worth fighting for.
Someone to protect.
Someone he could lose.

Keeping Cordelia out of harm’s way becomes complicated when she’s finally ready to explore something that started with a single kiss six years ago. A better man might have let her go. But losing Cordelia was never an option.

Rapunzel Is Losing It is a dual POV romance. It's book two in the Princess Crossover series.

respectfully, fuck off to whoever gave a 1 star rating for a book that's not even finished🫶🫶

edit: now that I've had the honor to read the book, I stand by my previous statement and my 5⭐️ rating, because this was such an amazing book! I already loved Cinderella Is Faking It, but Dilan outdid herself with this one!! Could not put it down, read it all in less than 24h!

Thank you Dilan for the arc!!

I had high expectations for the book, bc I really liked the idea and the characters. Sadly, it was a disaster 😭

The writing got worse than in the first book. Everything was written so monotonously, and I couldn’t feel the emotions of the characters 😭

Plot-wise, almost everything made no sense for me 😐

GOT THE ARCCC!!!

I knew Rapunzel would be Cordelia 😭💕

• Victor and Cordelia had so much tension. He's her butler/driver/bodyguard or whatever she needs him to be, and he cares so much about her. He's a tattooed, muscular guy and he's literally emotionless but has a soft spot just for her. He chops the vegetables into impossibly smaller pieces just to sneak vitamins into her food because she's a picky eater and doesn't like veggies. HE ALSO KISSED HER ONCE.

“What? I like watching the Discovery Channel.”
“I watch her watch the Discovery Channel.” Victor shrugged.

“Married?” “No.”
“Kids?” “No.”
“College?” “No.”
“Kissed Cordelia?”
“Yes.” His knife came down in a hard chop and stayed down as his quick reply registered.

Thank you Dilan Dyer for the opportunity to eArc read this book!!! I read Cinderella is faking it first after reading dyer’s blurb in this book that the characters are connected, and THIS DID NOT DISAPPOINT!

Dyer has become an auto buy author for me 😆😆😆👏🏻👏🏻

Main girl - heiress suffering from severe PTSD, agoraphobia, and anxiety due to seeing her mom unaliv3d in front of her and being KIDNAPPED at 13 yrs old 😫

Main guy - ex Russian mob MMA fighter now bodyguard/butler?😆

Their banter and chemistry is just 🔥🔥🙌🏻🙌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

OFFICIALLY OUT JUNE 28th!!!! What you waiting for?! Go get it!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I GOT THE ARC AND I’M SO GRATEFUL

I’m writing this review immediately after finishing the book and just let me tell you that I loved this book and I love the whole series so much

victor, the man you are 🥵 + when he takes care of cordelia?? oh my poor heart, that he’s always there for her, he truly knows her and understands her, it’s just 😭
cordelia is the sweetest, sometimes she’s so shy and anxious and can’t even finish the sentence and then she’s so blunt and says what she wants and it’s SO ICONIC (and usually because of that the smut was like O M G)

they are so perfect together, they know each other so well, they’re supporting each other, I just love them so much 😭

I also loved these few scenes we got with del and beck!! (now I want to reread the first book, but I’m pretty sure that I will reread this one as well)

some of the tropes:
- he’s so obsessed with her
- bodyguard romance
- “you are my life”
- mental health
- mafia family

This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2024 and I am so thankful I received the ARC for this!

When I read CILI, I already knew that I would love Cordelia’s story! Victor takes care of and cares immensely for Cordelia and vice versa. It’s so obvious how much they love each other! In CILI, we learn that due to a past trauma, Cordelia does not like to leave her house without having at least one panic attack. But, when she learns that victor is in trouble, she leaves her home multiple times to be there for him. This was my favorite part and really showed their true relationship! They are just too perfect for each other and know one another so well. Ugh I just love them. Definitely one of my top faves for book couples!! ❤️

This series so far has SO MUCH character development, which is why I think I enjoy it so much. This is a MUST READ!

Tropes:
💕bodyguard romance
💕mafia family
💕”it’s always been you”
💕”touch her and die”
💕no 3rd act breakout

ARC Review : If I could I’d give it infinite stars 🌟
📚 Dilan Dyer's previous novel, "Cindrella is Faking It," had already set the bar remarkably high, prompting me to question whether she could possibly surpass such brilliance. Yet, with her latest creation, she has not only shattered those expectations but soared to unprecedented heights, leaving me awestruck and humbled by her storytelling prowess. 🤯
👫 The protagonists, Victor and Cordelia, are crafted with such nuanced depth and complexity that they transcend the confines of mere characters, becoming cherished companions on this captivating journey. Their personalities are so vividly rendered that I found myself wholly invested in their lives, unable to pry myself away from their enthralling narrative. 💞
🦋 As someone who navigates the challenges of ADHD and anxiety, I felt a profound connection with Cordelia's character. Dyer's portrayal of her resonates with authenticity, allowing readers like myself to feel seen and understood in a way that is both validating and empowering. Cordelia's bold, unapologetic nature, her impulsivity, and her vibrant, pink-hued essence made her an instantly endearing and relatable heroine. 💗
And then, there was Victor – the epitome of a swoon-worthy romantic lead. From the moment he stepped into Cordelia's chaotic world, he embraced her quirks and eccentricities with open arms, never judging but rather melting seamlessly into her life to uplift and support her. 💞🥰 His understanding, acceptance, and unwavering care set the bar incredibly high, leaving me swooning over his beautiful soul that complemented his deliciously dirty mouth. 😍🔥
The chemistry between Victor and Cordelia was electric, their interactions leaving me alternating between screaming, giggling, and shedding tears of pure joy. Dyer masterfully showed the depth of their connection through their actions, words, and the way they effortlessly supported and uplifted one another. 💕💫
Moreover, the development of Cordelia's friendships with the other vibrant characters added another layer of richness to the story, showcasing the power of female solidarity and the importance of chosen family. 👭💖
The character development and the way she kept the grip in the story was just amazing.
I couldn't put this book down, and as the final pages drew to a close, I was left yearning for more of Dyer's spellbinding storytelling. "Repunzel is losing it" is a must-read masterpiece that will captivate you from start to finish. Pre-order your copy now, because you absolutely do not want to miss out on this extraordinary literary gem! 📚💎✨

Tropes:

🌸 heiress x bodyguard 🌸 (ex-) mafia 🌸 sports (MMA) 🌸 "It's always been you." 🌸 man obsessed 🌸 princess treatment 🌸 no 3rd act breakup

Some of fav quotes:

“Does what he’s told and has the muscles to do the job. We’re good.”

Eating something was more than just a quick snack. Eating something was Victor whipping up cheesy chicken pasta and setting my afternoon meds out on the counter for me. Protein and Adderall. Eating something meant feeding my body the chemicals it needed to slow my thoughts and, by extension, ease the anxious ones.

Worse, not only did I come back, I’d come back with something to lose. It wasn’t just my life on the line if I tried to run this time.

“It’s simple, zhizn’ moya, ya otkazyvayus' pokinut' etot mir ran'she tebya.”

I’ll add more once the book is released 😅😅

The second Cordelia made an appearance in Cinderella is Faking It (book one), I knew I would be obsessed with her.
The second Victor let it slip that they'd kissed before, I needed their story immediately.

The story picks up from where CIFI finishes, so reading that first is a must. I loved learning more about how Victor came to work as Cordelias bodyguard and about his background. Especially because in the previous book, he was mostly silent and brooding. The character growth was fantastic, and the way Dilan built out Cordelia and Victor's relationship was perfection.

Thank you so much to the author for giving me an ARC of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. First off, the author made it very clear that this is NOT an interconnected stand-alone. This is meant to be read right after Cinderella Is Faking it and picks up right after CIFI.

I was already love in Cinderella Is Faking It, but the author outdid herself with the sequel!!
Cordelia's bold, unapologetic nature, her impulsivity, and her vibrant, pink-hued life made her an instantly lovable and relatable heroine.
Victor's understanding, acceptance, and care for his girl set the bar incredibly high, leaving me swooning. I loved learning more about how Victor came to work as Cordelia's bodyguard and about his background. Especially because of his silent and brooding personality in the previous book.
The chemistry between Victor and Cordelia was electric, their interactions leaving me alternating between screaming, giggling and sobbing happy tears.
The character growth was fantastic, and the way the author demonstrated Cordelia and Victor's relationship was absolutely perfect. Loved it!

Victor and Cordelia are just perfect for eachother 🥹 Cordelia is an ADHD girlie and Victor accomodates so much for her and for her mental health, he's really the dream guy.

Like in the first book, I think some of the outside drama was just a tad too much but it was better in this book.

Towards the end I was thinking "hm there isn't much Rapunzel here" but then, oh boy, we got Rapunzel. It really surprised me but it was soo good!

I could have lived my whole life without reading this and be completely content

I had high expectations for this book. Those expectations were not met. I found Cordelia to be quite childish. She was painted as this meticulous logical woman at times and then she’d have a temper tantrum over putting fish in a pond. It’s like the author couldn’t decide if Cordelia is a toddler or a “girl boss.” The whole bravta storyline was a bore. It felt like so much was happening and nothing was happening at the same time. I wish we got more of Victor and Cordelia’s origin story. I know it is technically not a standalone. However, it felt like I got a book and the first seven chapters are missing. The only pretty decent part of the story was the smut scenes.

DNF with 2 chapters to go bc I got a major ick. Also, she must have not gotten an editor bc DAMN that was so hard to read. Literally had paragraphs duplicated in a couple chapters and sentences half written. Story was ok but the editing and writing were too elementary to be published.

EDIT: i actually keep thinking about this book and wanna rate it lower. A main character at the end has a brain bleed and suffers permanent damage to his visual cortex (occipital lobe), but that doesn’t make sense for boxing if he’s hit in the front of his head (which he was). He should have damage to his frontal lobe and have memory and planning issues or an early onset of dementia… also why is he not able to read in one paragraph but magically can in the next?

ARC REVIEW!!!

i was so excited to get my hands on this and it did not disappoint!! i loved how even though there was no third act breakup, there was still tension and suspense! the banter was top notch, i love cordelia and victor, and i loved the little beck and del moments throughout! it was so fun to see cordelia slowly become part of the “frapp sluts” and i was so happy for her. del and cordelia really r soulmates… can’t wait to see the double dates that the two couples will choose in cordelia’s house!

i really resonated with cordelia, because the moments wheee you just forget to eat, your thoughts racing too fast, the overthinking, the forgetting where you put things. very me. idk if it’s bc i don’t take adderall but a different medication, but i didn’t realize there were afternoon pills until this book… mine r strictly morning otherwise i can’t sleep lol

nonetheless, there were a few moments where i felt like i had missed a part of something so i had to go back and reread before realizing it was a little inconsistent in the storytelling (sort of how cordelia’s thoughts jump ahead) - but i also couldn’t tell if that was just me and my adhd so take that with a grain of salt.

for example, the whole plotline with the teapot (which i thought was so cute that victor got) seemed kind of unresolved. like wdym he went through all that effort and then was like ok whatever here’s a teacup. yes i understood what happened to said teapot but i feel like something else could have been done with it… maybe a scene of victor trying to fix it bc cordelia would’ve appreciated it even if it didn’t play the music… or he could’ve idk made it an art piece (i’m saying random shit now) but idk i feel like the ending to that plotline was very abrupt.

so other than the fact that the storyline got a little jumpy and there are areas that i feel like can be fleshed out a lot more because they seemed a bit rushed, the only other complaint i had was the fact that there is one scene where cordelia talks about how sharks are monogamous when in reality only some species are, and for the most part sharks are very much so not monogamous, but that literally doesn’t matter when it comes to the book at all so 😭

usually when i read ARCs they are riddled with little typos and grammatically incorrect sentences but this ARC only had two major (not really) ones! the typos and stuff usually throw me off when reading which affects how i feel about the book overall.

fav quotes/moments to come when the book is officially released!

4 ⭐️/ 3 🌶️
Super quick and very entertaining read, exactly what I wanted. I loved Victor and Cordelia's dynamic, they understand each other so well and I enjoyed how caring and accepting Victor was. It's very swoon worthy how he always knows just how to comfort her and make her feel seen. I could totally relate to Cordelia's skipping of thoughts and I love love love how Vic just learned to get on board and go with it until the context became clear haha, we love a self-reflected king who's able to adapt.

Some of the dialogues were so funny and smart at the same time. I loved the part where Victor gets to hold the press conference right before his fight in Paris and basically rats out his uncle:

“All I can say is that most rumors hold a kernel of truth, just not the hot tub ones."

Overall I really enjoyed Dilan's writing style and I praise her for making her protagonists in their thirties. 🙏🏼

Now for the part I didn't like:
It's fair enough to make Cordelia a vírgín and while reading about a dominant but caring MMC is what I generally like, I really didn't like the scene of her 1st time. I get that she gets off from his m@nh@ndling her and his rougher side in general but I still don't believe she truly would've enjoyed choking on his fingers while he literally plunges into her in one sudden hard swoop - not when everything is so new for her. Idk, would have appreciated a softer approach in this particular scene more 😂 I'm aware she did change her mind from wanting him to go slow to him doing it fast but still [that's just my oPiNiOn]

Anyway, loved the book and would read more by the author!

“driver. bodyguard. husband. however you want me, cordelia, i’m yours until the day they put me six feet under.” ₊ ⊹

my thoughts┊i loved this???

i really enjoyed the first book, but it was a little outside of what i usually read so i wasn’t too sure if i’d really like this series or not. but safe to say, i ended up loving this one more than the first!

cordelia was honestly such a relatable character, and i really loved seeing her development throughout the story. she was so cute and funny and i genuinely think i fell in love with her. victor was also the perfect malewife for her lmao he was so obsessed and down bad for her and i was looooving it. the perfect couple!! absolutely adored reading their relationship progression and how much they both loved each other. it was like tooth-achingly sweet!

the plot was a little hit or miss for me, but i was too invested in the couple to really care lmao. it was a pretty quick read, despite being 400ish pages. it had me hooked from the beginning and i really enjoyed my time reading it!

i kind of thought this was just gonna be a duology, but it was mentioned at the very end that there would be another book based on snow white? i’m definitely here for it. i love modern renditions of the disney princess stories so i think i’ll be reading any and all books that come out in this series!

Thank you so much to Dilan Dyer for choosing me to read an ARC of this! The world of CIFI has been one that I’ve been constantly thinking about ever since I finished the book earlier this year. I’ve been anticipating Victor and Cordelia’s story ever since and I'm so thankful to have received the ARC!

Victor was simply swoon worthy from the second he appears on the page. I had a crush on him throughout all of CIFI and now I am head over heels in love!

The first kiss after six years gave me all the feels and Victor was so sweet and caring for our little drunken Cordy.

I related to so much of Cordelia's thought process and feelings. Dyer does an excellent job at painting a picture of ADHD that can be understood by everyone. I've never read a book where the writing truly depicts the character's struggles with ADHD and other mental illnesses rather than just stating that they have it.

It was truly refreshing seeing ADHD so well portrayed in this work. I felt seen.

Overall, I really loved this book - even more than I loved the first. Victor will be in my top book boyfriend lists forever.

I can't wait to read the next in the series!

I loved this installment as much as the first!!! I felt seen in Delilah and I felt seen in Cordelia. Thank you Dilan for shining light on how women can be neurodivergent and still LIVE!!

Victor and Cordelia? Everything. The way it’s always been each other? Everything. The way it will always be each other? Everything and so much more!!! The way they understood each other without having to speak. The way they loved each other without a third-act breakup. The way they understand each other and meet each other where they need support. EV-ER-Y-THING!!!

I just wish that their HEA didn’t come with such a cost of Victor’s eyesight because it felt so essential to them. If his eyesight was necessary to the plot line, then I wish we would’ve at least gotten more to the story about how it’s improved, but it’s a struggle for them to navigate now vs. before.

I loved this book and cannot wait for the next installment. Thank you Dilan Dyer for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!!

Thank you so much to Dilan Dyer for the arc in exchange of an honest review.

This was one of my most anticipated books of the year! and i liked it… but i just didn’t love it as much as Cinderella is faking it.

What i liked was Cordelia 💜 she was everything that i wanna be when i grow up, lol.
I think she’s an amazing representation of adhd and ptsd in women. I really enjoyed that we see how her brain works. And how Victor just loves her brain 💜.
I also loved how possessive Cordelia was! Victor too but we don’t see it much in female characters. When she says “You’re mine. I won’t let him touch you” ugh, chills!!!! My favorite part.

The mafia story wasn’t my favorite… i think i was more invested in their relationship and i wanted more of that.
I felt like it was missing more scenes of Cordy and Victor together doing nothing.

Anyway, it was a good book just not my favorite.
Either way, i can’t wait for what’s next!

I have to say I liked this book a lot more than the first one. Honestly, that’s probably because of Victor. I fell in love with him in Del’s book, and I couldn’t wait to get his story.

It definitely did not disappoint. I’m way more in love with him now than before, and that’s saying something. I love him for Cordelia, they’re perfect together!

Cordelia is so sweet too! I wanted to hug her so many times throughout the book, but that would probably just weird her out. I loved how fast her brain worked, and how easily Victor understood her thought process. Again, they’re perfect for each other!

The plot was good, the spice was hot, and there were plot twists in this book that I never saw coming! This was such an easy and entertaining read! Less spicy chapters than book 1, but still just as hot!

If you liked the first book, then you’ll love this one. Victor over Beck forsure! Sorry Beck, just no competition lol.

i’ve had the opportunity to receive rapunzel is losing it as an arc book, thank you for this!

i liked the book, it showed a good representation of trauma and a bit of adhd dealing as well. i loved that victor eventually knew cordelia’s thoughts and went along with them. i didn’t particularly follow the events in the book, but that’s on me mostly. at some parts it was confusing, while my friend didn’t think that at all. might’ve just been me since i like reading lots of details etc.

some parts kept me on the edge of my seat, especially when fighting. the ending is super cute as well! 🫶🏼 i loved their relationship x
