Fairytale Bureau #2

Cinder's Trial

Rate this book
This Cinderella doesn’t need a prince charming, but she would like a happily-ever-after.

Silly me, I thought I’d beaten the Grimm Effect when I ditched the old man who wouldn’t stop chasing me at the ball. However, here I am, decades later, with my fairy godmother popping back in for round two. No thanks. I intend to marry for love and not because of a curse. Avoiding the marriage trap might be easier if I wasn’t roped into acting as a liaison for a certain European prince. A good thing he’s at least charming compared to his assigned protective Grimm Knight.

The upcoming ball for the prince’s birthday is turning into a chaotic mess, with hundreds of Cinderellas showing up determined to lose their shoe. While I’m busy trying to screen them before they come near His Royal Highness, I’m being plagued by oddities, some of which are threatening my life. As the curse does its best to force me into playing my role, I am equally determined to fight it. The question is, will my refusal to conform ruin my chance at happiness?

Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .

I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.

The instalove was a bit much, but it was still a fun addition to a weird urban fantasy/fairy tale universe I'm really enjoying. I really liked that Cinder could talk to animals and and the backstory for Levi was really interesting and different. I'm curious to see what happens in the third book, if the reason behind the fairy tale infestation is revealed.

Good book
I enjoyed listening to this book. Levi and Cinder make such a good couple. I like how gruff he is and although they are snippy with each other, you can see the hint of interest they have for each other. This series of the Grimm book characters coming to life, transforming people into characters form the various books is interesting. It’s rather fun. Although Levi is a bit rigid with rules and providing protection, he’s sweet to Cinder. She’s pretty cool with her ability to talk to animals. I also liked the prince, Killian and look forward to book 3 where he’s the MC.
This was an enjoyable and entertaining book. I recommend this and the series.

Cinderella’s story was an interesting one. We see how friendly she is to animals and some of the moments with them were funny but not all moments with the animals were nice. Some animals had dark motives. With having to deal with ravenous women who claim to be Cinderella the twist at the end was u expected but very cute as well. I can’t wait to read Bella’s story next. The narrator, Sierra Kline did a wonderful job keeping me engaged. I enjoyed the tones and inflections used for the characters.

A very special thanks to Tantor Audio for the gifted audiobook.

The series keeps getting better. The characters make the book, but they are fun, fierce, and cute. I love Cinders and Levi, I love the prince too, and now I'm invested in wanting a happy ever after for them all.

The passion and smut are better and more often in this book. But so is the fairy tale and antics of the curse. It's kind of fun, guessing which tale just hit Cinders. An enjoyable read
