Journey back in time with Geronimo in this fabumouse hardcover special edition!
I, Geronimo Stilton, never expected to set paw inside a time machine. But when Professor Paws von Volt invited me to travel with him, I had to accept!
My family came along to help us discover how the dinosaurs became extinct, how the Great Pyramid of Giza was built, and what life was like at King Arthur's court. Along the way I was chased by a Tyrannosaurus rex, almost eaten by a crocodile in the Nile, and asked to save a maiden from an evil knight's castle. Holey cheese! It was an adventure through history!

I loved this book. It was one of the most entertaining and educational book. I learnt so many new words, new phrases, new facts, interesting riddles and anecdotes. The book tells us about stilton's "wacky journey through time"... The book gives a lot of information about the Jurassic, the Egyptian and the Arthurian times. I loved reading each section. Overall a very good read 😊
We enjoyed this one, for the most part - obviously, my 7yo had a better time than I did, but I still find these books less of a chore to read aloud than some children's lit we've tried. There were some accuracy issues in here that made me cringe (trying to let that go, but not quite succeeding), but it's fine if you are reading solely for entertainment. I think Geronimo Stilton has come to stay at our house, at least for a while, but there are worse books series for the kiddo to get hooked on.
While the information is occasionally dodgy in this, and I have my reservations about corporate assembly-line literature such as this, my son did find it very entertaining. He's not a "reluctant reader," at all, but it's still nice to put fun books in his path, especially during summer vacation. Plus, these books have become available in basically every language, now - that will be a significant boon when he becomes ready to practice reading in languages other than English. The biggest drawback for me is cousin Trap. I loathe that guy.
So, "audition for the family library" has been successful, though very few of these books will ever actually make the physical family library shelf. This series has way too many volumes for us to bother buying into it; however, thanks to the public library, we will likely spend many years with Geronimo Stilton, and I can live with that.
Meh. This is the first of this series that I've read (read it with my 6-yr-old). He liked it but did not love it. I can see how the layout of the book (very visual) would draw in reluctant readers but I found the story to be draggy and I feel like several characters (Thea, Benjamin etc.) could be interesting but are completely ignored - I'm not sure why they are in the book.
Geronimo Stilton and the Stilton family were going on a time travel with Geronimo’s old friend Professor Von Volt. They go to the Pre-historic period, Ancient Egypt and Medieval England. But his cousin, Trap made trouble for him. The time machine activated and filled with mysterious, blue fog. Does this mean that he is lost forever? But thanks to Professor Von Volt, he uses his emergency tele-command and re-united Geronimo with his family. There is so much to learn about Dinosaurs and The ancient pyramids. The Journey Through Time is an adventurous, historic book. I liked when the Stilton family and professor went to the Medieval England. My favourite chapters were 'The Voice of the Pre-historic Forest' and 'Noble Mousehotep’s Sarcophagus'. I wish I could invent a time machine and travel through time too.
The Journey Through Time by Geronimo Stilton is a book about his 'wacky journey through time'. Once, he received a suspicious letter, with no sign. He followed the address mentioned in the letter, and out of somewhere he reached in a professor's lab he made an invention which can take you through time. The books genre is fantasy. The important characters are Geronimo, Thea, Trap, Benjamin and Professor Paws Von Volt. I liked the part in which Trap was presenting his magic trick to Ramesses II. I liked this book because it contains interesting and funny throughout the story, and also I also loved the idea in presenting illustrations plus the idea of showing their travel journal.
The book is very fun and entertaining. The characters travel to prehistory, ancient Egypt and medieval period. It contained fun facts and riddles. It was an amazing book to read.
This book is the first book in the series of the journey through time series.i this it was the best book from all of the books part of the series .This book was about Geronimo going on a mission to find out how the dinosaurs are extinct today.the book was packed with action adventure and loads of facts . i think i loved this book a lot because really like dinosaurs and it taught me so much more on them. It was a really interesting book.I liked all the characters in this book because they were all so smart and amazing. they all were a great team who had different qualities. They were like the dream team which everyone wants to have. My favourite part of this book was when Geronimo takes care of that little baby dinosaur it was so cute and i loved that moment. it was the best part of the book.
It was a story where everything other than the charterers was non-fiction the prehistoric animals, the Egyptian god names and the life of king Ather it was all so amazing I wish I could have been on that time machine. It was a story of happiness, joy, sweetness and many more adventurous things.I think this is the only adventure in which Geronimo was brave.I loved this book and hope to read another like this.
In this book, they went to three places..Prehistory, Egypt and medieval period. They actually show the fun facts, real history of Egypt and it also have the quiz of which period did u lived.
This is genuinely such a great kids' book, but then I feel that way about all Geronimo books, because I also loved them as a kid 😂 I found this (signed!) at the flea market and decided to get it for my nieces (8 and 10 years old) who love the Geronimo Fantasia books. I got curious and also mostly taken by nostalgia so I decided to quickly read it before giving it to them.
The structure of the story is really clear, it is explained in the beginning that we'll be travelling to three different times and that's what happens. We go on a little adventure each time, lots of repetition that obviously makes it funny for kids with all the catchphrases. During all these trips, there is also a lot of interesting information given regarding history, geography and even a bit of science. There's games, jokes and riddles throughout this book, and in this edition (not sure if it's in every edition), after the story ends, there is over 100 pages of extra content with more games, riddles and even dinosaur drawing instructions. Even though I got it second-hand, I got lucky that the previous owner didn't fill in any of these pages, so the book was basically good as new and my nieces were ecstatic.
If anyone is ever in doubt as to what books to give to a child between the ages of 7-12, I'd 100% recommend Geronimo Stilton, any of them really. The eldest of my nieces immediately started explaining to me why she loves these books so much more than others (in other books the pages look boring, but the different lettering in these books makes it super fun and exciting to read), and I don't think there's more reliable review than that.
" Journey through time" is an adventurous book written by Geronimo Stilton. This book starts when Geronimo received a letter in which there was address of professor von Volt . As it was a mysterious letter, professor asked him to keep it secret. Professor called Geronimo Stilton to show his new invention " Travel through time " . He asked him to join him on that adventurous journey. But Stilton showed no interest . Suddenly Thea , Trap and Benjamin face popped in his head and said to professor that Stilton family will be glad to join us join him. The day to start the adventurous journey came. The have to go to three periods - prehistoric period, ancient egypt, medical England. Everything was going well till Trap tripped over the book kept by the professor. The first aid box hit the door of Mouse Mover 3000 ( Time machine) . Suddenly the time machine started rotating and in few seconds Geronimo found himself in thick forest. The Jurassic period! After some time struggling to save his life. He found a egg. Suddenly he heard a sound. Geronimo understood that the egg was about to hatch . The egg hatched. The egg was of Triceratops . The newly hatched baby dinosaur thought that Geronimo was his mother and started following him.In the evening some black shadow started appearing. Geronimo got scared. But after some time Geronimo realised that the black shadow was none other than Trap, Thea, professor and Benjamin. Geronimo was overwhelmed to see them. Then they finished their whole journey together. Collecting all the information they need. Facing all difficulties and living all the happy/funny moments, they returned back. 'Journey through time' is an amazing and interesting book. This book is for those who love adventure.
3 stars & 3/10 hearts. I really like this series because there’s no magic involved in the time-travel, it’s all pseudo-scientific. The first story is about the disappearance of the dinosaurs and leads the reader to believe that the meteorite theory is a fact, instead of Noah’s flood. So that one needs editing. The second one has a brief magic/conjuring show, and the third one, since it’s about Arthur, mentions magic & has a sort of magical thing with Excalibur. Besides this, however, I really liked the stories. Of course they’re ridiculous and light and funny, and they have a few sweet moments. And they have a bit of history too. I like the illustrations!
The journey through time is an enchanting story that takes you through time travel. This is my first time reading of Geronimo Stilton. In this story Geronimo Stilton and his cousins travel through time to Prehistoric period, Ancient Egypt and Medieval period. The first thing I liked about this book is the different fonts used for some words. I liked the part when meteors came at once to earth and the dinosaurs got extinct and the part when the great pyramid of Giza was built. I was surprised when Crouton go to the rock and got the sword out of the rock. This is a fantastic book that I recommend anyone who is interested in time traveler read.
Geronimo sliton's the journey through time is a story in which Geronimo and his cousins got a chance to travel through time in a time machine invented by Professor Paws Von Volt . They were going to prehistoric period, ancient Egypt, medieval England. Through all these places they are facing different adventures . They are visiting prehistoric period to find out how dinosaurs became extinct , through ancient Egypt to find out how Cheops, great pyramid of Giza is built and through medieval period to uncover the secret of King Arthur and his court.
I very much enjoyed the idea of this story. I grew up on the classic Geronimo Stilton and someone had gifted this one to me and I wasn’t too disappointed i do wish that it could have been longer and given more detail or a bit more story line to each section of the time travel or better yet instead of mashing together what could have been 3 separate books just had it as 3 separate books but over all was a good read and great for children
I kept thinking I’d read this book before but goodreads believed otherwise. Strange.
I liked the medieval portion best, and the story line with regards to little crouton is plenty endearing.
I’m a grown up who picked up the Geronimo Stilton craze a bit late. I enjoyed the books I’ve read so far. A bit on the heavy side due to the hardcovers. Library’s choice.
I remembered reading this book when I was a little kid and I wanted to go back and reread it. I used to be obsessed with these books from 5th-6th grade It's able to teach children about history in a fun and engaging way. I was able to read it quickly but it wasn't as entertaining as I remember. I guess my tastes have changed.
It was nice to read something from my childhood. It's a 3/5 for me
