Anger simmered below my skin because I barely beat the storm to get here, and there’d be no driving now that the worst of it began. I’d be all alone this Christmas, snowed in at my ex’s cabin, crying and drinking enough wine to turn me into a fish.

In my drunken state, I decided to do a cozy, house ritual to release my inner child to go back to my roots, but my sloshed mind messed one ingredient up. Instead of releasing mine, something else manifested. That’s when three men emerge and scare the living tar out of me. But men wasn’t quite the right word with their horns and hooves.

They came to collect my mistake, but they didn’t leave when the job was done...
