Book Two in the Annwn Unveiled Series *** I thought things were bad when I found myself thrown into the paranormal world last winter, but what I experienced then was simple compared to the mess I’m in now. Hades has come calling to collect the debt against my soul, the Quorum has kidnapped my mother, and I’ve been poisoned by a demon’s kiss.
The only way to get free of this mess is to retrieve the Orbos artifact from Demeter’s hidden realm, enter Hell by stealth and bathe in the river Styx without losing myself to the tormenting waters, and then bargain with Hades to release my soul debt in exchange for the Orbos. Then I needed to rescue my mother, and find enough evidence to convict Devon Stuart of treason.
I am a wife, mother, author and dreamer. I typically live in my own world most of the time, but I can often be found wandering around in Indiana with my husband, a daughter, a dog, a cat and some fish. When not writing, I am often thinking about writing, or trying my hand at various crafty things that I may or may not be good at doing. I’m pretty sure my neighbor is a vampire, and my eleventh grade math teacher was a werewolf, but the jury is still out on the Fae.
Everything comes together fluidly in this next book in the Annwn Unveiled series. The characters settle into their roles and Lexi, especially, grows and develops into a personality the reader can really empathise with. With the variety of creatures introduced mainly in the first novel, this book continues the story smoothly. There is a hint of love interest with one of the more dangerous characters in the book and I am looking forward to seeing if this comes to fruition in the future. I enjoyed the previous novel, but I enjoyed this one even more. The author's writing style makes for easy reading and she is continuing to develop as a writer.
In this book we can continue to follow the story of Lexi. Her encounter with the past and her struggle for her "freedom." The revelations continue and also surprises. The characters continue to be well defined. New ancient myths arise in the story, always well framed and without causing confusion in relation to the characters. However there are some myths that are described quite differently from the way I knew. I also enjoyed this 2nd book.
I received an e-copy of The Stygian Kiss by the Author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This was a great way to continue/finish Lexi's journey. It was just as fun reading this as the first book. It has all the same elements. But the story, although a continuation, was original by itself.
