Autumn Lavin moves from the big city to small town Carlston, Montana to start over again. She is pregnant and on her own. Determined to make a life for herself and her child, she buys the local Bar and Grill and sinks everything she has into it.

It has been the watering hole for beef eating, booze guzzling locals for decades, and they expect that she will carry on the tradition. But Autumn shakes up the entire town when she put out the word that she plans to turn it into a vegetarian restaurant with a juice bar. That idea is almost an insult to the locals, who think she is plain loco to try to do this in the heart of Montana beef country. In fact a few people are determined to stop her.

Amongst them is Jonas Barnes, who has a contract with the restaurant to supply it with beef from his ranch and has been counting on the sale of that beef to make ends meet. He is defensive when he heads into town to see if she will honor the agreement.
The two of them butt heads on that first meeting, but neither can forget the other. Jonas is a fair man and when the towns’ busy body calls a meeting in an effort to shut down Autumns plans, astonishingly, he speaks up and supports her right to do what she wants with the business she has purchased.

Jonas has insecurities of his own; war wounds that make him certain that no woman could love him. But he`s never met a woman like Autumn before.

Can she make a vegetarian restaurant and juice bar work in a most unlikely place? Could Jonas accept another man’s child? Could Autumn see beyond the scars that war left Jonas with? You`ll have to read the book to find out.

I loved the story of Autumn and Jonas. Don`t miss this wonderful read

MYSTERY AND ROMANCE

Autumn Lavin has moved to Montana and has purchased the Carlston Bar and Grill from Summer. Her plans are to open a vegetarian restaurant with a juice bar. Let’s just say, that in beef country, not everyone is happy.

The story is a mystery suspense, with a simmering romance in the works. Autumn meets opposition to her plans for the vegetarian restaurant, even as far as a meeting by the city council. She has a friend from culinary school that will be the chef, and Autumn will handle the front of the house.
There is trouble with more neglected, starving horses, threats against the ranchers who are housing these horses, and secrets and lies that eventually will come to light. Not everyone is trustworthy—no matter how good they seem.

The relationship between Autumn and Jonas is a roller coaster ride of ups and downs. He wasn’t happy with her choice for the bar and grill, but he supports her against some who try to destroy her dream. The chemistry between them is evident but he has issues from being injured during Afghanistan—between PTSD and the physical injury, he doesn’t believe he will ever have a chance to be happy. Autumn is dealing with a pregnancy, possible rape, and falling out with family and friends in the town she was from. Will this town be a new beginning or more of the same?

Once again, as with the first book in this series, the characters are interesting though not allowed to fully develop (implied backstory with no real details) and the pace of the story arc is off. The story keeps building, relating the nefarious activities (of which there are several) but when the big climax moment comes it is beyond anti-climatic and the reader’s are never treated to the villians’ comeuppance. No real payoff for the reader.

As this was the same pattern in book one I’m not sure I’ll read the next two books.

Autumn's Hope
Kathleen Ball

Takes a lot of nerve to open a vegetarian Restaurant and juice bar in cattle ranching country.

There are so many gay cowboys in some of these romances it’s no wonder cowboys are a dying breed. Also hard to believe there could be so many neglected horses; one can only hope that’s just fiction.

It takes an entire book for Autumn and Jonas to get over each other and make love. The text needs editing, I submitted about 15 typos.

I really enjoyed this book! The characters were fun and the storyline was engaging. The only reason I can't give it a 5, is because of the editing. There were some series mistakes. First, the restaurant is called Autumn's Harvest, then it changes to Autumn's Bounty! Also, the page breaks were off and very confusing. I do look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Quick read. This author 's characters are so mixed up when it comes to feelings. Hot/Cold. I love, but don't deserve. Will finish the series since I have the 4 books, but the martyr attitudes get old.

This book was so engrossing, it interfered with my life. I stayed up way to late reading because I had to know what was going to happen next to Autumn. And as for hunky cowboy heroes, Jonas had me turning up the fan. I loved their push/pull relationship, hot one minute and insecure the next. Their doubts felt realistic to me. The characters are well developed. I felt like I knew them in real life. I'm a fan of Ms. Ball's books and this one doesn't disappoint. It's warm, funny, suspenseful and all about love.

A Heart warming read

A beautifully written contemporary romance set in the cattle country of Montana. Autumn is new in town and plans on opening a Vegetarian restaurant and juice bar. Josh is a cattleman who also provides a home for the worst cases of rescued horses.
They both have pain in their pasts and fight their attraction. I love these characters! The book is easy flowing and heart warming. I enjoy reading Kathleen Ball stories because they bring so much joy to my day!

Very Entertaining!

Loved this hero, Jonas and his story. Loving, sensitive but a strong, determined man, thinking there would never be a hea for him until our heroine, Autumn moved to town. Beautiful, feisty, and very determined to carry out her plans even though she was alone and pregnant. Loved all the characters and enjoyed meeting up with the ones from the previous book. Winter's Embrace is next to read in this entertaining series. JudyE

This is a good novella, marred by some typos that should have been caught in proofing: here for hear; gulf for golf. There are also omitted words and some run-on sentences. These reduce the novella, for me, from a 4 star to a three.

This is book 2 o the series and it was really good. The characters pulled me in and a couple I could have slapped sky a few times lol, but to me that is what made it so good I was in the story. Looking for book 3
