my cousin Allan Brimacombe lent me this book. I read the first few chapters. In the 1800's the Gilmours were a wealthy lumber family in Ontario. They were running out of good lumber and the idea was to lift the lumber in Algonquin Park over the height of land and into Lake Ontario.
