I meant to start with book one but messed up and started with this one. It really didn’t matter. I’m not into books that I don’t either like or respect any of the characters. The h, the H, and the H’s mother – all TSTL. And the H – absolutely loathsome.
This quote occurs near the end of the book; the h describing her feelings for the H (after many months of imprisonment and mental and physical abuse):
Seeing his beautiful face every cell in my body yearns to be in his arms, to explain everything in a babble of truth and emotion. To tell him that I understand everything, all the lies, the heartache, the violence, the terrible words — I understand it all, and I forgive him. And I love him.
See what I mean? TSTL. Ending on a cliffhanger didn’t score any points either. I won’t be continuing the series.
This book would have to be a 3.4 for me - without any spoilers I think the first one was better than this one. Some things were harder for me to get through, and I did end up briefly DNF’d this book. Upon reading and had time to reflect, I decided that I don’t like Falcon but I don’t care for Angie as much as I liked her in the first book. She really went through some things, yet still think Falcon is a complete loser in this one. Assuming things make him more blind than seeing it for what it is. I think there’s some truth in humanity and what it means to face things that are out of our control, even if we delusion ourselves into thinking we do.
Secondly, the fact that FMC didn't feel ANY negative emotions about the situation her "husband" put her in is absurd. Unless you're incapable of having emotions, anyone would feel resentment, anger, and violated. WTF?
Thirdly, Jag is a shitty friend. He had an affair with his best friend's wife willingly. Don't gaslight me into believing he's a good person just because he trusts FMC. Again, WTF?
I was So excited for this book. I even reread the first one in the series, which I rarely do. The first book was witty and sexy with a great plot and characters. This book doesn't even seem to be written by the same author. It's an absolute dumpster fire with a nonsensical storyline and bizarre scenes of abuse. The characters are completely unrecognizable from book 1.
I'm just so disappointed that after waiting for an entire year, THIS mess is what the author came up with.
I can’t with this series, I’m so hooked! I waited for the second book for like a year and ended up reading it in one day, now I have to wait another year for the next one? I’m crying here lol It’s got angst and it pissed me off a few times, but I think that’s why I liked it, it kept me on my toes and made me feel something, there’s no spice, those scenes are mentioned but not described
The book series is absolutely awesome. I love it but I absolutely hate that it was supposed to be two books and now it’s three and I have to wait a whole Nother year. You did a great job writing them, but I wish I didn’t have to wait another year.
Tbh..I don't remember the first part. I do remember loving it and I was so excited for the second part to come out. But this was just a huge disappointment for me. The story didn't make sense. I felt no connection to either protagonist, every chapter was rushed. Overall Not Recommended.
I was so excited to read this! It didn’t not disappoint. There are a few trigger warnings! Rape Beastiality I could have done without those parts honestly. Of course it does leave you on another cliffhanger 🤦🏻♀️
It is a well written sick and twisted story. If you are looking for romantic vamps don't crack this cover. If you are easily triggered run away fast. On to the next in the series to see if Viper gets what should be coming to him.
I really enjoyed the book! At first it was a little hard to follow but I quickly got in the groove and really enjoyed it. It was a little gory but after all, these are VAMPIRES we are talking about!
There is really no romance in this book in the series. There is betrayal, treachery, ugly behavior. No one believes anyone else. And of course it is a cliffhanger. But I have hope.
