USA Today Bestselling author Merry Farmer lives in suburban Philadelphia with her two cats, Justine and Peter. She has been writing since she was ten years old and realized she didn't have to wait for the teacher to assign a creative writing project to write something. It was the best day of her life. Her books have reached the top of Amazon's charts, and have been named finalists for several prestigious awards, including the RONE Award for indie romance.
This is my 23rd book by Merry Farmer. I picked up 1 book of hers in Jan. 2020 and didn't pick her up again until Apr 2021 when she wrote Second Chance Manor series with Scarlett Scott and Caroline Lee. She does have a lot of other genres I won't read. I'm a Regency snob but other than that, I will read some Victorian. I don't read any other genres.
I liked Yvette and Nathan's story. It was a good read. Super short. I finished it in an hour :( but looking forward to the True Heir story.
Lady Yvette Mortimer has been the life of the house party at Nedworth Hall right from the start. But underneath her gregarious and exciting personality, she is running for her life. The world of secrets and lies surrounding her have kept her safe for two years, but when she impulsively announces she is Lord Carshalton’s mysterious heir, her house of cards begins to fall around her. Nathan Clarke, Marquis of Theydon, accepted his invitation to attend the house party at Nedworth Hall so that he could seek revenge on the man who destroyed his family’s fortune - Lord Carshalton. By discovering and marrying Carshalton’s heir, he believes he can both recover the money that was stolen from his family and have the last laugh. He’s believed Yvette is the heir from the start but he didn’t expect to fall in love with his target. The fifth book in the series & whilst it could be read on its own to fully appreciate all the relationships I’d recommend reading from the start. Another quick but charming romance, the pace is very good & the characters are wonderful, I read it straight through. I loved Nathan & Yvette & loved their journey to a HEA. There are secrets revealed, lies & at last the heir is revealed. I wanted Yvette’s father to suffer more but plans are being put in place. I loved the friendships between the ladies & how, apart from one, they rally round each other. A very well written delightful & captivating romance My review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
The False Heir is the fifth book in The Secrets of Nedworth Hall but will read well as a stand-alone. It has an interesting cast of characters and lots of secrets and mysteries. Not everyone is who they claim to be either.
The guests include those who are titled and others who are not. It appears as if those in attendance have not made a marriage match as of yet, and this is a more informal gathering of fewer people to mingle. The story is full of humor, mystery, and secrets. But not all secrets are actually secret because there are a few who know the truth.
Lady Yvette Mortimer has asked everyone to call her Lady Yvette. She was thrilled to be invited to the Cambourne’s summer house party. She needed to remain hidden from her evil father, Lord Sutton, and his accomplice, Lord Philmont. Yvette is a lady who spins tales, so many, that it is hard to keep them all straight. It has been a way to protect herself. She carries secrets, and she would hope to be named as the Carshalton heir. It sure beats the parentage she was raised with. Will Yvette’s tales be her downfall? Or will Nathan not hold them against her?
Nathan Clarke, Marquess of Theydon, is a man seeking retribution for the financial disaster fallen on his family, and late father. He believes Lord Carshalton is guilty of the crime and if he could marry Carshalton’s heir, he could recoup some of the losses. Even with that goal in mind, Nathan has taken a liking to Lady Yvette—and it seems, she to him. Yvette: Thank you so much for rescuing me. You are my gallant hero, and I shall forever be in your debt.
Nathan: You would tell me if you were in serious trouble, wouldn’t you, Lady Yvette? I wish you would tell me what is wrong. I wish you would let me help you. Yvette: My secrets have all been revealed now, and all that is left is to face the music. Nathan: Have they all been revealed? I think you have more secrets. I do wish you would tell me what they are so that I could do something about them. Yvette: You are right, my lord. I have so much that I need to confess. I only hope that you will forgive me for withholding the truth from you. Nathan: The truth that you are Lord Carshalton’s heir? Yvette: Yes. It is true. I have known from the beginning, but I have kept my true identity a secret.
I enjoyed the story and the characters (well, most of them) and it was fun to be back at the Cambourne’s house party. The chemistry that has developed between Nathan and Yvette continues to grow. What will he do if he discovers she isn’t the Carshalton heir? What will happen when he learns the truth about her, her tales, and her marriage to Lord Mortimer?
The story has the good, the bad, and the evil of people. I loved how Nathan declares himself for Yvette, and he not only does that in words but in deeds. When trouble comes for Yvette, he proves himself as a protector, and it even gives him a lead as to his future. It appears as if another couple has found one another at the party.
“If the man were still alive, I would thank him for bringing you to me. I will endeavor to do my best to finish the work he started by pledging my life, my body, and my soul to protecting you from anyone who might try to harm you, including your father.”
Miss Pennypacker: So he truly asked you to marry him? Yvette: He did. Lady Patience: Was this before or after he committed scandal with you and claimed your virtue? Yvette: It was before we tumbled headfirst into sin. In fact, the sinning was a natural consequence of his proposal.
I look forward to the next and final book, The True Heir, due out on February 19, 2024. FYI, I did guess correctly who I thought the true heir would be and I am looking forward to her story.
The story for me reads at a slow pace. The excitement of who is the rightful presumed air to is a mystery into itself. But it’s the entertainment during the house party. Nathan seems to know who the heir is and initiates his own investigation into the hunt. The romance is timid for me. I feel that I’m not getting that connection with the characters and the plot.
Thanks to BookSprout for a copy of this book and this is my freely given opinion.
The house party continues and the Carshalton heir mystery appears to be solved when Lady Yvette declares herself as the heir. But she is given to telling fanciful and tall tales and has been pointed out as a constant liar by Lady Eleanor, whom she (and others) have been butting heads with constantly. However, this may have been one lie too much and her lies are coming back to haunt her.
Nathan, the Marquess of Theydon, had gone to the house party hoping to court the heir, with the intention of getting back the wealth that he felt Carshalton had cheated his father out of. Initially he felt relief when Yvette announced her status as the mysterious heir, especially since he started to develop feelings for her anyways. But her story and her background did not seem right to Nathan.
Yvette is not just a chronic liar, but has been lying and hiding to run from her past. In this story we find out that she has been on the run and living a lie for several years, first running away with a family friend, telling the world at large they eloped, then continuing to hide after his death, to avoid the abuse and manipulations of her father. She got into such a habit of lying to hide her true circumstances that she could not help but lie at any opportunity. Except she wants Nathan to know the truth, and is afraid of losing everything when the truths come out, especially if it leads to her being exposed and discovered by her father and the evil man he promised her too.
The penultimate story to the mystery of the Carshalton heir, and a quick, fast, easy to read story that continues the over-arcing story line. It has some pleasant tension and drama involving Yvette's secrets coming out, her continued feud with Eleanor, and her past coming to haunt her, but Nathan acting as her hero and her new friends coming to her aid in the end.
The fifth book in Merry Farmer’s series, The Secrets of Nedworth Hall, is named “The False Heir”. The next couple to match up is Lady Yvette Mortimer and Nathan Clarke, Marquess of Theydon. Their road to a happy ever after is far from smooth as both parties have secrets they feel they cannot share. Nathan believes Yvette is the heir and wants to marry her in a revenge plot to regain family money he believes was stolen by Carshalton. Yvette is on the run, hiding out at the house party, hoping her father and his chosen groom for Yvette do not locate her. Yvette suffered from physical and verbal abuse at the hands of her father. His cruel words pop into her head and demoralize her to the point where she has created a vast myriad of lies as a means of protection. Nathan’s feeling start to change as he gets to know Yvette. He wants to uncover the truths hidden amongst her lies, including her assertion that she is the true heir. I thought both of these characters were well written and fit into this well constructed world set in a summer house party that has two goals, firstly to match couples into successful relationships and secondly, to investigate and uncover Carshalton’s heir. As with the other installments, this story brings the open door heat and steam. The current couple have to reveal truths to one another as the past finds its way in to the house party to confront Yvette and Nathan. And Lady Eleanor? She doesn’t deserve “Lady” in front of her name, and you can read why. She is a miserable human being. Overall, I enjoyed this story. It moved right along and was a fairly quick and easy read. This fit in well with the overall series arc. The characters were well thought out, the steamy interactions tastefully written. A recommended read for lovers of the Regency era historical romance and fans of Merry Farmer. Next up is the series finale, book six, “The True Heir”.
Wow, another great read in this amazing series. The summer house party that Lord and Lady Cambourne are having at Nedworth Hall is really where Lords and Ladies that have been overlooked by the ton can maybe find a marriage. All the guests have secrets and pasts that the hosts seem to know. The books can be read as standalone but so so much better read in order. In each book we are given clues about who the mysterious heir to the Carshalton fortune is. By now we have seen four couples find each other and now we learn more about Lady Yvette Mortimer. She was the life of the party, always ready with a story and a smile. But behind that smile she has many secrets. Nathan Clarke is the new Marquess of Theydon and only comes to the party for revenge not for love or marriage. His family has had a lot of money stolen from them and he believes Lord Carshalton was to blame. He is sure Yvette is the heir and seeks her out. Only fate has other ideas and they both find they have lots in common and feelings neither want to show. As in all the books, our couple will have to rethink everything to find their happy ending. There is evil afoot and Nathan is going to have to open his heart if he is to save the love of his life in time and both will need to forget the past and see the future. So much going on in this fast-paced story many secrets come out, evil, mean men get what is coming to them and at last Yvette can be just her wonderful self. Don’t miss this series, it's one of the best I’ve read in a long time. All the couple are interesting, the mystery adds to each story. I can’t wait for the last book which will be about the heir and her match. All the books are steamy for those who like to know. I know I will be rereading this series for sure. I received an ARC from the author and wish to thank her. This is my honest opinion and am freely giving it.
The False Heir is the fifth book in Merry Farmer's series, The Secrets of Nedworth Hall. This is a charming series set in Victorian England, based around the intrigue and mystery of a house party hosted at Nedworth Hall. This book does work as a standalone but I think that it would work even better if you read the full series. There is a gentle connection to Farmer's other books set around the club, The Brotherhood. The pay off is that at the end of this book we finally find out the identity of Lord Carshalton's heir, and we see Lady Elizabeth finally get into some sort of trouble for her horrible antics.
This book is based around Lady Yvette Mortimer, an Earl's daughter, and Nathan Clarke, the Marquess of Theydon. Yvette is an intriguing character. She has had some hardships with very little help her life. Being a lady she was taught to keep a stiff upper lip and so she had been able to manufacture tales to ensure that she remained respectable. At this point she needs a marriage to a proper gentleman and she needs it quickly, because she can't keep hiding forever.
Nathan is enchanted by Yvette at the start. And like many of the men at the party, is keen to find and marry Carshalton's heir because he is in desperate need of money. Instead, a whirlwind romance is what happens as he gets to know Yvette, after suspecting her of being the heir, and then hearing her admit that she's the heir in a desperate moment.
This was a fun book, though you may need to suspend your disbelief because Yvette fashions many tall tales. It was really wonderful to see Yvette and Nathan find true love in this whirlwind Victorian romance.

Merry Farmer…I just love her! LOVE HER ya'll. She’s created a series of novellas that read better than Days of Our Lives of old. Sex, Lies…DRAMMMMA. My GAWD the drama. Conniving wenches…lusty lords. Evil men. Wooo WEEEE! The tea being spilt among these pages…will have you munching popcorn and turning the pages with a vengeance.
Finally…FINALLY…. we find out who the Carshalton heir is…and y’all…I knew it. I just knew it and I must say I am NOT disappointed.
Lady Yvette Mortimer is the queen of deception, spinning a web of lies to protect herself from the horrible and ugly truth. Beneath her charm, she's on the run for her life, and her carefully crafted house of cards starts to crumble when she impulsively claims to be Lord Carshalton’s enigmatic heir. Nathan Clarke, Marquess of Theydon, is attending the party set on revenge against Carshalton, the culprit behind his family’s financial downfall. Intent on marrying Carshalton’s heir to regain his family’s lost fortune, , Nathan never expected to fall for the charming impostor; however, as love and lies collide, the biggest lies have yet to be revealed.
Merry has done a fabulous job with this series. I’ve been eagerly waiting the next installment and can’t wait to read the story of the heir now that he or she has been revealed. What? You didn’t think I was going to give you a hint. You’ve got to read for yourselves!!!
This is such a good series, and we finally find out who truly is Lord Carshalton’s heir. But before the revelation we learn that Yvette’s life is full of horror hidden by the entertaining lies she tells. Nobody but Nathan, Lord Theydon, notices the fear and panic in her eyes, as everyone else seems to be dazzled by her smile and the tales she tells. This is a story about love and trust. Nathan’s love is true and he is willing to put everything on the line to protect and encourage Yvette. She needs to trust that he will be there for her. There seems to be two crescendos, one leading to a frightful confrontation, and the other leading to the unveiling of the heir. This story includes multiple villains, and a boatload of heroes. I love that Nathan’s financial salvation comes from an unexpected and beloved source, and that Yvette finds herself surrounded by true friends. It is impossible not to get emotionally involved. You will find yourself clenching your teeth and raising your eyebrows, as your heart stutters and tears fill your eyes. You will also wish that you could smack the smirk off of a few faces, and wring a certain person’s neck, although karma does give her a pretty good slap. This is one of those books that is full of surprises, riles you up and leaves you wishing for more! It’s a good thing there’s at least one more book to come.

The False Heir is the fifth book in the Secrets of Nedworth Hall series where a house party is taking place with the intent of making matches and to reveal the mysterious heir to Lord Carshalton’s fortune. As all stories are related I’d recommend starting at the beginning of the series.
The novella was a quick read. I wasn’t a big fan of Yvette as she came across as a compulsive liar until of course I read long enough to discover what prompted to her to react the way she does when the truth is close to coming out. Nathan was understanding and patient and willing to take the time to see below the surface of Yvette’s fears. They were a good match.
However, this one didn’t really do it for me. I’m not a fan of the withholding information trope or the toxicity of purity culture that the male villains portrayed. With a shorter story it seemed rushed and not able to be fully developed with the resolution not feeling like justice was fully served. Then again, there will always be difficult people that cannot change. The mysterious heir does get revealed in the end of this one but that couple’s story will come about in the last book. I felt the author did a good job of concealing the person throughout the series and it was in the beginning of this book before I figured it out.
Wow, what drama! But in an excellent way. This story kept me turning the pages for hours because I just had to find out who the heir was!
This book focuses on Lady Yvette, a chronic liar who can't help herself to make up stories while she hides from her past. She comes off as aloof at first until Lady Eleanor starts bullying her and Lord Theydon finds out that there is more to her than meets the eye. Nathan Clarke, Lord Theydon is only at the party to find the heir, marry her, and take back the fortune stolen from his family from his neighbor Lord Carshalton. Lady Yvette announces that the heir is really herself but is that true? As more of the truth gets exposed, will Yvette and Nathan be able to keep their hearts true?
This book had a lot going on in such a few pages, but it was all an exciting ride. I didn't particularly care for Lady Yvette's character but she did get better towards the end. All the characters were all so very well written, and as mentioned, the drama and intensity of the party are high in this book. Throw in some villains, sympathy for the female lead, some fortunate twists and this makes for a great read.

I received this book as an ARC, but my opinions are my own.
The False Heir is the 5th installment of the author's Secrets of Nedworth Hall series set in the late 1800's, that explores what happens when a group of eligible men and women are invited to the country for a matchmaking party. As a sweetener, the hosts promise that participants will learn the identity of the heir to wealthy Lord Carshalton.
In The False Heir, Lady Yvette Mortimer, a vivacious and beautiful woman finds herself attracted to Nathan, Marques Theydon and he to her, but for vastly different reasons. He has a bone to pick with the heir and she is on the run.
When her penchant for lying and exaggeration causes her to blurt out that she's the heir, her house of cards begins to crumble and Theydon must make a decision...continue with his secret plans for a vendetta or embrace the woman he's come to love. All will be revealed in the end.
This book can be read as a stand alone story, but the rest of the books are so good, why not read the entire series? I really enjoyed Yvette and Nathan's story. She's a heroine worth saving and he's just the man to do it!
An enjoyable and quick read with a good plot and very likable characters, a bit of steam and a revelation at the end! I particularly liked how the characters in the series grew together and forged friendships.
The book is part of „The Secrets of Nedworth Hall“ series but can be read as standalone.
Lord Nathan Theydon attends the matchmaking house party at Nedworth Hall to uncover the secret heir of his late neighbor Lord Carshalton and take revenge for his betrayal. He believes that Lady Yvette is the person he is looking for and starts to court her. On the run from her abusive father and his business associate, who wants to make her his mistress, Yvette spins a web of lies to protect herself and attends the house party to find a husband. Both are attracted to one another and revenge soon no longer plays a role for Nathan. But Yvette fears that he can’t fall in love with the woman behind the tall tales…
If you like historical romance novels with house party themes and a touch of mystery, I recommend reading this easy to read book as part of the series.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Lord and Lady Colbourne’s house party is meant for fun, matchmaking, and revealing Lord Carshalton’s heir. The guests at the party have a wrinkle in their past or reputation, some known and some secret. One of them is the heir. Nathan Clarke, Marquess of Theydon, has come to the party to discover the heir and hopefully recoup the money he believes Carshalton cheated from his family. Lady Yvette Mortimer survives in a web of lies. She and Nathan get along well and have started to have feeling for each other. When Yvette blurts out that she is the heir, Nathan has to decide if revenge is what he really wants. Secrets begin to come apart. Thanks to the party’s mean girl, Yvette’s secrets and fears come to the front door. What next? This is a relatively short and charming story. The characters are wonderful, except for three you’ll know upon meeting them. There is a bit of intrigue in this one, and a lot of secrets. The romance between Nathan and Yvette is delightful. He is truly her hero. The house party is coming to an end, and the ball is the setting for a spectacular revelation. I received an ARC of this book via BookSprout and voluntarily reviewed it.
This is sort of a “last chance” party for those unfortunate individuals who have not made a match yet. But there is so much more involved here. The action moves around the question of the identity of the Carshalton heir. Lady Yvette Mortimer, a widow, is the queen of secrets with her many stories. Nathan Clarke, the Marquess of Theydon, is also attending but for his own reasons. However, he becomes attracted to Yvette. Will it matter when he finds out the truth? Is she the woman who will win his heart?
There are so many things going on in this wonderful story that it keeps the reader’s attention to figure out the mysteries. Aside from the identity of the mysterious unknown heir, we see Yvette in hiding from her father and suitor who intend to inflict harm if they find her. Will Nathan keep her safe? Each of the characters are so well presented that they do feel like “real” people, both the good ones and the bad ones. Let the author take you to the party to see for yourself the path our favorites will choose. And find out if the nasty ones get their due at last!
Another great book by this author. Well written, full of drama, love, romance, society, slight abuse, action and adventure. Nathan is attending this getaway for a second chance to find himself a bride. Hopefully a rich one as his father made lots of mistakes with the family funds. He needs to add money into his coffers to assist his family. Yvette is a widow attending also , looking to hide plus find a husband. At this event , they spend quite a bit of time together and fall in love. Add in a rich missing heir who is also at this party and now there is a mystery to solve. Yvette has run away , hiding from her father and a suitor, both that mean to harm her. When they show up to take her back, Nathan and the other guest stand up for her. This story will hold your attention till the end and leave you wanting more. Can't wait for the next on. Would strongly recommend this book.

This series has been a joy ride in finding out who the missing heir is. Though I had an inkling in the last book, this one solidified it. I loved how the author wrote of Yvette’s abuse through the years. To think there were men like that gives one the shivers! To see Nathan come to the rescue and the way he did it was so very satisfying! The camaraderie between the ladies was adorable and it was wonderful to see the “American” get in her licks! Lady Eleanor needs to find a closet somewhere and stay there- she was well written as definitely one to extremely dislike. Yvette’s storytelling was hilarious and fanciful- made from great imagination. These characters seem so real and it will be sad to see them end, but at least there is one more book!.

This is a book I am very happy to recommend! Throughout this series there has been the mystery of who Lord Carshalton's heir is and what a twist in the tale! This story is more angsty because of the treatment Lady Yvette received from her father while growing up. Talk about abuse! So she lies compulsively to hide her past. I mention this because it has formed her nature and she has been written into the story as a timid and lying character who is always looking over her shoulder, yet not only is she beautiful, but she is also a very sweet, caring and loving person. The perfect lady for Nathan Clarke to fall madly in love with. I have really enjoyed reading this particular story and was also extremely happy with the outcome – I would never have guessed! I read an ARC (Advance Reader Copy) of this book and this has been my voluntary review of it.
This is the next installment in a highly amusing series about a house party with the twist of the mystery of the missing Lord Carshalton’s heir. The books should be read in order as not only the tale itself develops but the relationship between the various couples.
I found Lady Yvette always intriguing. Her tales were far too ridiculous to be true and in this book her whole house of cards is falling down. Her backstory is quite difficult but I like how she is portrait with a spine of steel, definitely not a typical damsel in distress. When it all comes out, she learns that she has friends and supporters and a fresh start is possible.
Nathan was a bit bland. However, I love how he comes to Yvette's rescue when she is confronted with her secret.
There is a surprise at the end and I can't wait for the final book.
Well! Did you guess who the heir is? I did a couple of books ago but it gets announced at the end of this story and we still have one more book to go. Merry Farmer has done a fun job writing these books but an even better job coming up with the overall plot of who Lord Carshalton’s heir is. I don’t even care that I figured it out early because it’s so interesting and elevates the series to be something more than the usual historical romance set. This one focuses on Yvette and Nathan but like the others it has so much more going on with all the other characters. I particularly enjoyed “seeing” the same events through different characters eyes as the books overlap. I can’t wait to see what excitement Ms Farmer gives us in the final episode.
Somehow Yvette finds love among all the lies and deception she's told since arriving at Nedworth Hall. However, Nathan isn't as naive as he seems and can see through her lies, and works hard to uncover the truth. What started as revenge for him quickly morphed into love and protection of a battered soul.
I personally felt that there needed to be a content warning at the beginning of this book, discussing the abuse that was suffered, and while it took place in the past, it was brought to light, several times on the page. As well as the gas lighting and emotional abuse that was inflicted upon Yvette. That could be triggering to a great number of readers and I personally would have liked the heads up that it was the content I was about to delve into.

The False Heir by Merry Farmer has a satisfying ending, but honestly, it’s the book I had the most difficulty reading. The main reason for that difficulty was that I got so fed up with Lady Yvette’s falsehoods. I felt like she was the most unlikeable heroine in the series.
I finished the book for a few reasons, and I’m happy I did. The first reason is that I love the series as a whole, and the supporting characters are amazing. The second reason I finished it is that I liked the character of Nathan. The final reason I finished it was because I wanted confirmation that my guess at who the heir is was correct, and my guess was correct!
I’m looking forward to the grand finale of the series!.

In this book, we follow another couple who met during a matchmaking holiday. This novella follows the same premise as the others in the series: a couple discovers one another, but each has secrets that we learn about as the two characters reveal themselves to each other. The characters in this novella are lovable, and, like the other volumes in the series, we become immersed in the plot. I particularly loved Yvette’s character and the range of emotions she evoked as we learned more about her background. This character is what sets this book apart.

This fifth book of the authors, "Secrets of Nedworth Hall Series," which is set in the late 1800's, has an original take on romance. The story is filled with drama, many secrets, and much adventure and intrigue. The society of young men and woman gathered also involved much love and romance. It spoke of past abusive actions which had taken place. The best and sweetest part of the story is when Nathan realizes he loves Yvette despite her shortcomings and storytelling. He then proves how much she means to him and of the love he truly feels. The ultimate end was the shocking revelation of who the true ended up being. I really enjoyed this story and recommend reading it!

I have enjoyed this series and this is a great addition to it. I loved Yvette for the strong young woman she has become after having endured years of parental abuse that left horrible scars on her back. Nathan came to the house party with revenge on his mind but when he met Yvette he changed his mind. Danger is getting closer to Yvette and can Nathan save her. This is a well written story that is very entertaining. I am glad to find out who the real heir is and I can’t wait to read their story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and are voluntarily leaving a review.
Very enjoyable story. Lots of mystery surrounding who the heir might be. Is it Lady Yvette or someone else? Yvette and Nathan have become very close during the house party, but Yvette can’t quite seem to tell him the truth about her past as she’s afraid of what will happen to him if she does. She couldn’t live with it if something happened to him. Nathan is willing to help Yvette but can’t get her to tell him the truth so he can help. What will it take for these two to trust each other and will they become a couple by the end of the house party? Keep reading to find out.
Lady Yvette had quite a few secrets and she disguised them with storytelling but Nathan Clarke, the Marquess of Theydon was determined to get to the bottom of them and to uncover who the mystery heir is!
Another fast paced novella in this series full of wonderful characters, steamy moments as lovers find their HEA and a secret that’s about to be revealed!
An entertaining and engaging read!.

This was a story filled with secrets and revelations. I thought Yvette and Nathan were so sweet together, even when they were being spicy. Like Nathan, I was perfectly prepared to slay dragons for her. The avenging Valkyrie side of me badly wanted to witness more justice being meted out to Lady Yvette’s persecutors. I liked what we got to see, I’m just bloodthirsty and wanted more. And speaking of “more”, I can’t wait to read the account of the house party from the true heir’s perspective. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
Yvette is hiding out at the house party, her father is trying to find her. She's made friends with the other girls but has a compulsion to make things up. Nathan is trying to find the heir to help restore the family fortunes, he's convinced that Carshalton stole his family money. Yvette is attracted to him but doesn't think he'll be interested in her because of all her baggage and lies.

Another great read in the search for the heir, only one to go!
